    Old Fashioned!
    Lee C.

Just stopped in for a drink before I head to bed. The bar is nice and clean, had a quiet atmosphere. The bartender was super nice and friendly. She made an excellent Old Fashioned. Would def come back.

    Amazing Cap steak! Incredible flavor!

OMG.. Server Milly and Chef Vilma were amazing.. The food and service was excellent. The chef cooked the best steak I have had in years. Thick and perfectly made medium rare.. The steak was called a Cap steak as I recall. The seasoning and sauce were out of this world. I can still taste it. I know where I am going for my birthday dinner. And then there is Milly.. bartender & server.. Sooo sweet and friendly! I must also say that the bar and eating area was much prettier than I expected.. Great Ambiance. I will be back to try the other foods on the menu!

Had the morning breakfast buffet. Food was decent for a hotel restaurant. Service was very good.

They have greatly improved their food menu. Great selection, and lots of options for happy hour. You know that you are in a hotel bar, but it doesn't feel like that. What kept it from being a five star is the service was not great - it was just good. Nice enough, but there's room for improvement there. Other than that, a great place, and a repeat place for me for sure.

    The Salad Nicoise; very disappointing

The service was five stars. The Niçoise salad was a huge bummer. For real, they just dumped an enormous can of hard packed tuna on top. Whose idea was that? Dry-yolked, over-hard boiled eggs and flavorless potatoes. The green beans were great. The lettuce was bitter. Tomatoes were ice cold and flavorless. Olives were fine. Dressing was alright. Overall not impressed, a small portion of actual fresh or even frozen fish would not be difficult to find, adjacent to the airport in a seaside town. I'm very disappointed in you, Northwoods.

    Western Bacon Cheeseburger

We were staying in the Hilton one night and did not have a rental car. We decided just to go sit in this restaurant. I am glad we did. I ordered the Western bacon cheeseburger and my wife ordered the regular cheeseburger. The burgers were huge and very juicy. The fries were crispy and had a good flavor. Overall it looks like they use quality ingredients and the wait on the food was not long at all. Our waitress was super friendly and gave us some tips for our early morning flight the next morning. I would definitely go here again if I were in the area and try some of the other things on the menu. This location is right across the street from the Bellingham Washington airport.

Food was great for an airport hotel restaurant. Service was friendly and relatively quick. Breakfast ambiance is exactly what you'd expect from a small airport hotel restaurant at 9AM. Everything was fine, nothing outstanding but would return if I was staying here again.

Prices are great. Food was good. It's clean and full service available. The staff who work here are helpful and nice. They're definitely under staffed.

Northwater Signature Burger with a side of soup (chili), $2 extra ($12+$2).

If you're flying out of Bellingham airport, this is an excellent location for a pre-flight meal or drink. Inside the airport terminal, the options are limited and overpriced. There's a bar (Scotty Brown) and a small stand after security and one more stand before security You can easily walk from Northwater to the terminal from in less than 10 minutes. The food and drinks here are very reasonably priced, and I thought the quality of their food was solid. Food: I'm not a burger person, but I thought their burger was very flavorful. Somehow, I ordered a side of soup (which turned out to be chili) for $2 extra, which was more like a meal of its own. Unless you have a huge appetite, you may want to stick with salad or fries. Ambience and service: It's clean but cold. I don't think it's romantic or intimate. As it's specious, it can accommodate large groups fine. The waitress was pleasant, but the service was on a bit slow side. ****************************** If you found something useful in my review, please hit "useful" so that I can improve my reviews. This place is popular and BUSY (don't come here if you are in a hurry). I was going to down score them for the interior dining area. It is one huge MASSIVE open area that they packed in tables with and just put these tiny "pony walls" to provide a little bit of privacy but I didn't. Just know this.....THIS PLACE IS LOUD. I just loved the food so much they had to be 5 stars! They have a full espresso bar. Menu options are plentiful and delicious. I ordered the Blueberry Lemon Cobbler French Toast and that was impressive. Good thing I LOVE whipped cream because it came with a lot of that! Fresh blueberries went well with the lemon curd and the "cobbler" twist really worked with the French toast. A lot of the food options are big enough to share. I would definitely come back!

Definitely fluffy and the salmon was good! The side of potatoes was pretty good, a little softer than I prefer, but good. The fruit platter was where I draw the line. It was like $8 for two slices of melon and a strawberry. Insane. I have no idea how they justify that and I was super bummed to see I had paid that much for like 20 cents worth of fruit. The staff is friendly, but almost frighteningly so. They all wear skirts down to the floor and no makeup. It feels like they are all in on some secret, but I can't quite figure it out.

The patio can get a bit chilly, but it's worth it for the view, and they do have heaters available. I started with a salad, followed by the Keenan's burger with a garbanzo bean patty, and the soup du jour. All three were delicious. The complimentary bread served with garlic herb spread was a wonderful start--aromatic and very satisfying. The salad had a great balance of fresh vegetables and toppings. On a cold day, the soup was especially comforting. The burger itself was well prepared and flavorful. The staff was polite and attentive, though they seemed a bit overwhelmed due to a large party seated next to us. A Bit Longer Answer... Keenan's is somehow still a bit of a hidden gem in Bellingham, WA. How that is, at least for visitors, is beyond me. It is located in the absolute best hotel in Bellingham, the Chrysalis in Fairhaven, a delightful part of Bellingham, WA. You will want to stay there, just saying, and their spa? Oh my gosh...but I digress... A few weeks ago, while staying overnight, I took my brother-in-law to dinner at Keenan's. He dislikes...a lot. Forgive me, but one of his "super powers" seems to be in finding fault in any even somewhat nice restaurant. Something is always wrong with the food, the prices, and/or the service...yeah...but wait! Monty ate every bite and (wait for it...) did not complain once! Alert the media! Oh, happy day!! Okay, more details... I have had the pleasure of eating at Keenan's both in person at the restaurant and via their room service many times. BOTH ARE AMAZING! Their room service breakfasts are incredible! How they make their omelets as light and yet filling, EVEN WHEN DELIVERED to my lovely hotel room, is beyond me! Order their fruit, too, whatever it is they offer, order it. It will always be a beautifully flavorful addition to your meal. I can promise you your food will show up, even with room service, well-seasoned and ready to devour! Their dinners? WOW! I have had so many of their entrees, and each one is incredible. Their scallops are always perfect. Again, seasoned so that it complements the scallops without overpowering them. Their rib-eye is incredibly tender while still being cooked medium-rare, yay! And, their duck...oh my gosh! Hurray! I have to add, check their specials. I have never been steered wrong. Of course, a meal is almost as much affected by the service as by the food, right? They will treat you like a VIP, no matter who you are or what you order. How cool is that? I love that they have that ability to be attentive without hovering, nice! How funny is this? Their venue is stunning. There is no questioning that point. It is simply stunning! The cool part of that is that they cook like they don't have a view. Does that make sense? They don't just rely on that "wow" factor and assume you will just go there for the view. The food and service are even better than the view, and that says A LOT! Oh, shhhh...just saying, between you and me...Mia, our latest server, is a rock star! Can you tell I am a fan? Yep! Count me in! Go there, you will thank me!

Wonderful food and drinks. I started with oyster shooters (Willapa Bay) along with a Lion's Tail cocktail. Sierra said the bourbon and lime complement each other. I wouldn't have thought so and thought it a bit of an odd choice. But she was right and I was wrong: it was fabulous. One of the most delicious drinks I've ever had, for my tastes. She gave me several recommendations for dinner. I picked the Jalapeño Chicken. It was luscious and flavorful, but the best part of it was my choice of Balsamic Brussels sprouts as my side--oh my! I was happy to see steamed clams on the menu. I grew up eating fresh steamed seafood for dinner, so battered fried seafood that is more common here hasn't really grown on me yet. To me fried seafood is a fancy version of chicken nuggets. I loved the clams, so light but bland. The sauce is full of umami flavor, drizzled with some fresh lemon juice, it was like a summery beachy afternoon in a bowl. I could easily dip a loaf of toast with it if I had one. The clams were fresh and meaty, nothing to complain about with this dish. My partner had the grilled cheese, and he said it was mid. He's vegetarian, and I don't like cheese, so I didn't bother to try any of his meal to do my own fact check. The staff were friendly too.
