Lovely spacious dining, beautiful décor, very good service, and great food. This was our first visit to Northwater. We were there for happy hour on Sunday and ordered snacks in the bar. Very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. So many restaurants in Bellingham have terrible acoustics that make it impossible to have a conversation. Looking forward to next time and trying a full-course dinner. The only reason I give it only four stars is that I want to try the dining room and have a full-course dinner before evaluating. read more

After a relaxing afternoon at the lavender farm we were looking for a special restaurant for our anniversary. We weren't expecting amazing food at a Holiday Inn. Chef Christy's gets 5 stars for creativity and high quality locally grown food. The Caesar salad served in a crispy Parmesan nest was fantastic with the Lentil Planks appetizer. I enjoyed the pork mole tacos although they were challenging to eat. My traditional hubby, who's not a foodie like me, raved over the Angus beef burger, whiskey smoked bacon and avocado. He's talking about coming back for the best burger ever. Loved the rosemary fries. Given that the bar and patio was overstaffed, the service was slow. Our meal was so impressive that the service wouldn't stop us from planning to eat here on another day trip. read more

Our evening started with creative craft cocktails made by a passionate mixologist. We then had an appetizer of a grilled cauliflower steak with perfectly matched flavorings including pickled peppers, harissa aioli, cilantro mint sauce, and toasted almonds. The encore was fresh-off-the-boat local halibut (not easy to come by) with a quinoa-sweet potato cake and a cherry tomato herb topping. This description does not do the dish justice; it was the best halibut dish we have had. Our server was knowledgable and had a great personality. I saw the 4+ star review so decided to take my family here for an early dinner. Even though it's by the airport it has a nice location away from the hussle and bussle. From the main entrance you wouldn't know it's part of the Holiday Inn next door. Plenty of parking outside, patio option on front and beautiful stonework on the outside of the building. Walking inside gave off a welcoming casual but upscale ambiance. It wasn't very busy at the bar or restaurant when we came in so we were greeted right away and seated by the front window near the patio. We were greeted by the bus boy who was busy cleaning tables and he let us know that they were in the middle of changing lunch to dinner menus and waiter would be with us soon. We were waited on by Kevin who did an awesome job of meeting all our needs. He took extra time to hear our feedback on the portabella mushroom stack which was good but we really enjoyed the roasted cauliflower appetizer more as it has more flavor. My sons and quinoa black bean burger was very flavorful and a good portion size but may have been a bit too spicy for some. We shared the peach cobbler dessert which was done up from scratch and hit the spot. We will be back again with a larger group in the future. Note: they have lots of room space for meetings/conferences and such as well. The men's bathroom urinal needed some attending to but I've seen worse. The fries that my husband and friend ordered were too salty to eat, the chicken with chickpeas was also very salty and the pistachio orange baklava only had a few pistachios in the to go box, none inside the phillo dough, baklava without nuts, REALLY! After an excellent lunch a few months ago, with an outstanding burger and exceptional fish and chips, we tried a dinner visit with sadly disappointing results. Although the crab cake appetizer was excellent, the 12 oz. pork chop was tough and tasteless. The waiter diplomatically apologized, saying he would inform the kitchen, and offered a complementary desert. However, the berry cobbler proved to be an oddly sour conception. The rather pricey dinner was not supported by an attentive kitchen. Their conceptions are interesting, but one wonders if the talent is still in the kitchen. read more

Dinner here was simply delicious, beginning to end! Korean Beef Lettuce Wraps with housemade Kimchi were a great starter, preceded by the complimentary focaccia and yummy tapenade. Had a couple of tasty Washington microbrews to accompany our entrees of Curry Chicken Sandwich (the lentil plank side with yogurt dipping sauce was excellent) and the special of Cold Smoked Salmon with chocolate (think mole) and strawberries delivered unusual but noshable satisfaction! Stayed at the new Holiday Inn at the airport and had dinner with an associate in the restaurant. It was fantastic. Shared the flat bread and beet salad which were excellent. Ordered the braciole steak on the recommendation of the server and it was great. Very tender and flavorful. Also ordered a bottle of the house red which was very good and a great value. Visiting family from Bay Area. I didn't know where to take mom so I checked out Yelp reviews for the area. Northwater caught my eye so we decided to check it out. At first when driving up, I saw it was attached to a Holiday Inn, I was hesitant, but figured WTH. Both properties are nice & new so don't let that be a distraction. Glad we did go in, food was fresh, delicious & nicely presented. Atmosphere was nice & hospitable. It also has an outside patio area for those nice days. We have been to this restaurant twice and loved it both times! The beef burger and bison burger were both great and cooked to perfection, the rosemary seasoning / sea salted fries were good as well. Our previous visit three in our party had the chicken sliders on the late night menu and enjoyed then. Servers on both occasions were very friendly and accommodating. The interior is modern and comfortable. They even have an outlet at every booth for your use.We will definitely go back again read more

Heard about this place at their booth at the end of summer during the SeFeast. They were generous in giving out $10.00 gift cards to come try them...We have been hooked ever since. Hands down~ Bison Burger is the best burger I have ever had, every bite of cooked to order yumminess. My husband would never endorse or say theirs a good garden burger out their until he ate one from here. They have changed his mind and only for theirs for good. Rosemary fries are tasty and if you go during happy hour you can get a big bowl to share for $5.00. I am not a dessert person and am always quite satisfied when done eating my meal however this place makes the most tasty desserts and I now can't leave without having something. Our favorites are the banana cream pie and the german chocolate cake with coconut icing..but thats also cause we have yet to try the rest. When you eat one you think, this must be the best one and then you try something else they make and "Wow". Service is consistently knowledgeable, friendly, and excellent every single time and that is hard to find. Super happy we have them locally and eat here atleast once a week now. Really enjoyed this place. It was so clean and new. The service was wonderful as well. We even went here two days in a row. The food is reasonably priced for what you get. Took our friends with us the second day and they were impressed too. The first time had the seared salmon with a ceasar salad. Thought it was delicious especially the salad. Great place for our Father's Day Dinner. It was delicious! I love that everything is made in house, even down to the condiments using local ingredients. But what stood out the most would have to be the service. We had friendly, helpful, and FUNNY wait staff. Dinner felt like we were hanging with an extension of our family.
