We decided to proceed and made an appointment for the installation. The equipment installed is modern and quiet. The consumables used were all high quality and brand new. The guys were professional, on time, diligent and not cutting corners during the installation process. All conduits look neat and nice. Everything looks great. They left the place tidy and clean. After we used the system for a couple of days we realized that some custom tuning might be necessary for our apartment, to which Nur HVAC quickly made a new appointment and fixed all the issues for free. I've recently replaced my old thermostat to a Nest thermostat. For some odd reason it was giving me an e73 error code. I didn't know what was wrong and wanted to fix my AC ASAP! I called Nur Service and spoke to Kseniia and they were able to come the same day. Llias was my HVAC technician and he was very knowledgeable. After 20 minutes, my nest thermostat started working again. (Turned out that I accidentally blew a fuse) He made sure my thermostats was set up correctly and working before leaving. This may sound made up, but it's true. My 8 yr old AC unit conked out on the hottest day of the decade! Most repair places couldn't come for a week. Kseniia was very responsive and, as soon as there was a cancellation, she got a guy (Artur) out the next day (almost as hot out). The AC unit needed more repair than I could have anticipated (which means $$$!) but Artur explained everything and it all seemed on the level (I didn't do any price comparisons, so I don't know how much it would've cost with a different repair service). Our ancient wall furnace went out and Islam diagnosed the problem as a dead flame sensor. Unfortunately our unit is so old that manufacturers discontinued the style of flame sensor that fits. He gave me the option of replacing the entire furnace, or having him try to re-work our old unit to fit the new style of sensor. We opted for the re-work. Islam had to get creative and rummaged up a holder for the new sensor, then had to modify our furnace to attach the holder. He was resourceful and handy, and managed to do a custom modification to keep our old furnace running a little longer. Thanks Islam! read more

This is a business where the owners -- Ilias and David -- really care and they cherish their customers -- which is refreshing and seemingly too rare these days. I highly recommend NUR and their team and will be keeping their contact information close. I had a challenging noise-related issue in my HVAC ducts. I live in a century home and have had other HVAC folks come out to quote fixes, and no one could figure out what the issue was or even begin to put together a fix. The NUR team listened, understood the issue, and put together a plan to fix it. The quote was very reasonable for the area, and lower than companies that do more marketing. The team that did the work was incredibly respectful of my home -- I have a crawling baby and they made sure things were clean and safe for her even though the work was messy. There was an issue where the original fix didn't actually "fix" the problem (it's noise, and it's most obvious at nighttime, so hard to check during working hours) -- and then when I tried to schedule a time to get that fixed, my appointment kept getting dropped or rescheduled. I escalated to the owner who came over right away, assessed the situation, and put a correction plan in place. They worked hard the Friday before Christmas to fix the noise and came by a week later to confirm it was fixed and to finish everything up. This experience could have gone sideways in the middle there but the NUR team really saved it and have turned me into a long-term customer. I highly recommend them. read more

Throughout the process, they made me feel like a highly valued customer. [Sales experience] After dealing with the shock in natural gas prices and the sweltering summers, I decided it was time to ditch my old inefficient gas furnace upgrade me and family to the latest efficient heat pump technology that both reduces my utility bills in the winter and provides air conditioning during the summer. I shopped around various HVAC contractors on Yelp, and I was fortunate to have Nur HVAC respond. David, the owner, came out to give me a quote, and I immediately had a great first impression of him and Nur. Unlike other companies who sent sales reps, David was highly knowledgeable in HVAC, and he listened to me and what I wanted as opposed to trying to push me a hard sale. David is a rare gem in the HVAC industry, where instead of trying to upsell every chance, he actually thinks about what is needed, what's a waste of money, and he conducts himself with the utmost integrity to give the best recommendation for me and not his own pocketbook. The integrity and honesty of Nur is seen when they automatically included permits and HERS testing in the quote. Several other installers I spoke to wanted extra for the permit, the implication being that the default would be unpermitted work. I continued conversing with David, and he would always respond quickly and professionally. At the end of the day, Nur came in with a very competitive bid, and it was an easy decision for me to choose them because of the rapport I developed with David. [Install experience] Nur handled applying for a permit, and once the permit was approved, they immediately scheduled my install. This was a fairly large project, and they estimated that it would take about one week's worth of work. My install team was Fedor and Aleksander, and I cannot overstate how awesome they were. They showed up punctually every day at 9am in the morning and worked until 6pm in the evening until the whole job was completed. The pride that they took in their work is immediately apparent: the work was not rushed, no corners were cut, they made sure to do everything right all the way down the finest details, and they made sure to clean up every small speck of dust and dirt. For example, when putting in the new vents: they applied several sealant coats inside the vent box to make sure that the ductwork would not leak conditioned air to increase system efficiency. When they finished, they cleaned my attic and made it spotless. Fedor and Aleksander entertained my curiosity in the work and were more than happy to take my feedback and requests, which is further evidence that they actually enjoy the work and have a customer-first approach to their job. For example, there was an audible humming heard inside the home when the outdoor unit was first powered on, and they quickly acted on my observation to add vibration dampening materials that made the noise go away. While making small talk with Fedor, I learned that he used to work in the HVAC industry before he came to America, which explains the expertise and perfectionism that he brought to my job. [After install] Kseniia and Chinaza from the office ensured that the HERS tester and city inspector, who are third parties not affiliated with Nur, could be scheduled around my busy life. The HERS tester showed up on time, and he finished the HERS test within 30 minutes and told me that everything looked great. After this, Nur set up the city inspection so the permit could be finaled. Artur arrived on inspection day, and he helped ensure that the inspection process would be completed smoothly. The city inspector commented on how well done the install was, and he only had effusive praise for how well done everything was: the ducting, the air handler, the outdoor unit, the condensate line, and even how clean the attic was. Called in on Saturday and set up an appointment on Monday. Adlan showed up a little early and got to work after I explained that the condenser fan wasn't operating, but it appears to be getting power. He quickly diagnosed the problem being a slightly loose wire from the fuse box and a bad capacitor. They were transparent about costs, but also managed expectations given they hadn't seen the issue. After the technician arrived (Michael K), he confirmed I was low on freon, likely because of a leak. He gave me a few options, costs, and his recommendations on further diagnosis, especially given how old my system was (20+yrs). He was patient to educate me about the system so I could make an informed decision. We confirmed the leak was small, and I was OK with just filling with freon, rather than trying to find/patch the leak or replacing the system. My Samsung washer machine was out of guaratee after 3 years and it started leaking. I called Nur service, and Michael arrived after 1/2 hour. He checked the machine and found the problem. He then ordered the parts and within 2 days he came and fixed the washer for me. He not only fixed the machine, but also took time to show me how to do maintenance on the machine to keep it running better. The service is excelent, and the price is really reasonable. I did call other services before and they only charged me the inspection and told me to replace the machine. Michael took time to inspect and did not charge me the inspection time and only charged for the fixing time. Michael is really knowledgable and prfessional. Due to condensation, and debris in drain pipe, there was a slight overflow of water under the AC unit located in the garage. I was bit concerned of a leak in the coil or something so called up few places while I started to learn about the situation. 4 to 5 HVAC vendors reached out here and everyone quoted their diagnostic fee and the usual stuff. When I shared my learnings to ensure there is nothing major and it's just a debris, most of the vendors that I reached failed to clearly articulate what would or could happen to correlate my observations to the issue that might be happening. They came to my place and made a comprehensive diagnosis. After finding out it is due to the condenser, they recommend I contact LG as it is still within the warranty - to save my money. My HVAC stopped working on Thursday. I requested a diagnostic from Nur Service on the same day. The technician (Artur) came on time and found a problem in 15 mins. He answered our questions and within half an hour from him leaving we got a quote. The quote was lower than another company (mainly due to part price) so we went with Nur Service. On the next day Artur came again and replaced broken part. It took about 30 mins and another 30 minutes to thoroughly test it. The technician was highly qualified and answered all our questions as well as suggested possible improvements to our HVAC system: it was running 50% or on stage 1 all the time even though it was 2-stage system. Overall, I'm satisfied with the service although I think labor prices are very high in my area ($350 to replace blower fan motor). Anyway it was similar to the other quote we got. read more
