Such a cute and cozy Japanese & Thai fusion restaurant tucked away in Bernal. We shared the spring roll appetizer which was such a refreshing start to the meal with a fresh mint dipping sauce. My friend ordered a red curry dish, Kanom Jeen Nam Ngiaw, with pork and baby back ribs. She said it was delicious with a spicy kick to it! I ordered the vegetarian ramen which came with fried tofu, and I added a half soy marinated egg. I really enjoyed my ramen as well! Such a cute intimate spot perfect for date night or catchup with girlfriends. I will be back especially to try their Khao Soi Gai next time!

We walked in as a party of two for dinner on a Tuesday evening. The place is pretty small, so plan to wait at least 10-15 minutes at typical busy hours. We ordered before being seated so the food came quickly. We got three starters and honestly, they weren't anything special. However, we both really liked the pad see ew. It was a generous portion and really flavorful. I'd come back and get the noodles, but personally I'd skip on the starters.

It's a very small restaurant so be prepared to wait or put your name down. We waited about 20 to 30 minutes. The noodles were really good. Everything was very flavorful for me. Maybe a little too heavy on the oil and I do wish in the green curry noodles, but the noodles were kept maybe separately because I got very soft and a little bit overcooked inside overall very yummy.

I think it's my second time at this restaurant. First was years ago. Wasn't a memorable experience and I only realized that I've been here before after sitting down. My overall rating: 3/5. Friend's overall rating: 2/5 Pad Thai with chicken: 8/10 it was above average. Comes w tofu, some egg, chives, peanuts, lime, bean sprouts. Sauced up and tasty. Well balanced. Pad see ew with chicken: My friend rated her dish a 5/10 and said, "if it was free, I'd eat it. Like it's edible... but wouldn't pay for it. I expected better for the price. I felt like I needed to eat it with rice because it was too salty, too sweet, too unbalanced. I'd never come back again. The whole experience was bad." They were WAY too heavy-handed with the soybean paste and it ruined the dish. She also said that some noodles were hard and undercooked. Not enough wok-hei in my opinion. It's the worst pad see ew I've had. Service made the experience worse. Overheard the server tell another party that each person needs to order something, with $18 min pp but there's nothing written so I don't know how legitimate that was. He also charged us an extra $1 fee without disclosure and we were confused as to what it was for... that rubbed us the wrong way. Also, he didn't fill up our waters at all, not even in the beginning. On the plus side, the spot is cute, cozy, and clean.

Holy moly this was an incredible spot for Thai noodles. The pad Thai with shrimp rocked! Not too sweet and really excellent flavor. The Khao Soi was spicy and delicious. My nose was running but in a good way. So tasty. It's relatively small inside so we did have to wait 30 min for a table for 4 at 5:30 on a Saturday. Once we got inside, service and food were quick and piping hot. I'm already planning my next visit.

Very small, very quaint but very authentic and absolutely delicious food! Everything is very authentic, and made fresh. Their noodle dishes are amazing, and feature dishes from Thailand and Japan. You cannot go wrong with anything you order except for underestimating spiciness... I eat a lot of spicy food, but here a '3' is plenty. The fried small plates are also wonderful. Parking can be terrible because of small one way streets all around. The decor is simple and not ostentatious at all. This place does take reservations, but it is worth the wait. Highly recommended!

Very mixed review here. On the one hand, the food we had was very good. However, the service we had was of fairly blunted affect and unwelcoming. Moreover, we sat down for dinner at 7:30pm, by which time they were already out of key staples: many sakes were not available (took five tries just to pick something that was actually in stock). And there were many menu items that were sold out as well: GUAY TIEW KUA POO, DRUNKEN NOODLES "PAD KEE MAO", and PAD SEE-EW. As someone with celiacs, that left me with only two options for dinner: either a curry or pad thai. That was a little annoying. Nevertheless, the flavors were good and the textures were nice. But it's a rather cramped little space and we're just normal height people. I just don't think I would go back.

Delicious food; small location so there could be a wait. We signed our name and phone number on the paper in the front. They ran out of pad kee mao and pad see ew by the time we sat :( but my friends said it's the best they've had so I'll have to come back and try it! The pad Thai was soo good and saucy! Sometimes other places have pad thai that's a little dry but this dish was perfect. I don't usually opt for pad thai but I will 100% get this again. The mushroom fries are better than the corn tempura; we asked for spicy mayo on the side (it comes with plum sauce also). The lettuce wraps were also a hit! Nice and fresh veggie with crispy pork.

Sooooo good!! Ordered the mushroom fries, okra crispy rice, and veggie ramen (spicy). The mushroom fries had an amazing texture and were so delicious! The okra crispy rice was pretty good and I liked how the okra was cooked, but the flavor wasn't mindblowing. The veggie ramen had a good spice level and was pretty flavorful! The flavor of the broth was really delicious. Surprisingly fewer vegetarian entrées than I expected, but I really enjoyed what I tried! Would definitely come back to try more on the menu.

Vegetarian review alert ‼ Okay so Nute's was on my Yelp bookmarks for a while because it's super close to home and had good reviews. It has both Japanese and Thai food which is great. Here is everything my partner and I ate at Nute's Corn tempura with match salt and shoyu (3.5/5) : Matcha salt. Genius. I have a bias for matcha but whoever thought of putting it on a savory tempura. God bless. And the shoyu had something in it.. can't put my finger on it but to me it tastes like it had the kick of vinegar which was perfect with the tempura. Really wanted to try the squash blossom tempura but it was sold out so I'm guessing it's a specialty of theirs. Pad see ew (3.5/5) : My partner seemed to think it was the second best pad see ew he has ever had but umm. I love drunken noodle and I was a bit disappointed that they couldn't make a veggie version of pad kee mao so I was not in the mood to appreciate the pad see ew. Sorry. I did like the flavors.. very balanced and nice. The tofu chunks were a tad bit larger than I would have liked and had not soaked in the flavor of the sauce as much as I would have liked either. Vegetarian Ramen (4/5) : The broth was so understated and simple yet delicious. It had a tang and nice kick to it which made it stand out. Bamboo shoots were not from a can and were delicious. Now the fried tofu here ( maybe made in house? ) - I loved it. The tofu with that broth in my mouth were an absolute delight. I have been very generous with my score for the ramen just for the broth. Overall, good ambiance and quick service. Waited for about an hour on Tuesday night to get dinner. Would recommend trying this place out for anyone in the area.

Once we got closer to the front, the host came by to hand us menus so we knew what to order as soon as we were seated. The restaurant is pretty small so the dining experience feels a little hectic. If you're looking for a calm, relaxing place to eat, I wouldn't say this is the place. It's sort of an "in and out" situation. I ordered the spicy G.K.O. So so delicious. The flavors really jump out at you. The broth is so cozy and smooth. The portion was decent and the ingredients felt proportional. My boyfriend ordered the vegan Miso. My only real complaint was the seating arrangement. My wife and I were seated at a shared counter-style table that was divided by a glass partition. While the partition provided some separation, I could still clearly see the people sitting directly across from us, along with all the eating noises and conversations. I personally prefer a little more privacy while dining, so that took away from the experience. I won't comment on the wait time because that's pretty normal for popular restaurants in San Francisco. The highlight of the meal was definitely the A5 Wagyu Ramen. It was absolutely delicious and worth ordering. The flavors were amazing, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting. Overall, the food was outstanding, and despite the seating arrangement, I would gladly return.

There is a dependable place in San Francisco which has been making good flavored ramen in the home of the rising sun Japan since 1885. This location is the first US location and it's been on Buchanan street in San Francisco for a decade and it's called Hinodeya. On a Japantown stroll I landed at Hinodeya. This location has indoor and outside seating. Hinodeya does not offer any sushi, poke, or sashimi and it's strictly focused on ramen. I chose to have my ramen inside just in case some birdies drop something on my ramen from the sky. The menu has lots of ramen choices like their classic Dashi ramen and also their Tokyo Duck ramen. I decided to stick my regular order of the Umami Tonkatsu Dashi ramen with a pork cutlet , shittake, egg, and corn. The noodles were soft and had a descent pull to them and they were slurpable. The broth was tasty and not too salty like some in SF. Overall a consistent place serving you traditional ramen that started in 1885 from the land of the rising sun. The wait for a table was 20 mins or we can share a large table with random people and be seated immediately. We were hungry. We went with the large shared table. Pleasantly, there was more than enough room. There were at least 1-2 seats in between the three groups on each side that were there- a solo diner, a small family of 3, and my group of 4. I ordered the Karaka Spicy, my bf ordered Akamaru Modern, his sister ordered Miso, and I don't remember what her friend got- I think it was also Karaka spicy. My bf and I ordered the Treasure plate on the side to share and a side of spicy paste because I know Japanese spicy is barely spicy (from someone who grew up eating SEA spicy). Karaka Spicy had a nicely balance tonkotsu mouth feel and pork flavor. Broth was a little salty. I was correct to assume that it wasn't spicy because I used half of the side of spicy paste and I still didn't think it was spicy enough. Chashu was cooked fine. Notes: - I wished I would've asked if they could swap the thin noodles for the thick ones. I love the chew thicker noodles provide. - Noodles were cooked al dente. Akamaru Modern tasted very similar to Karaka spicy without the spicy. My bf used the other half of the spicy paste as dip for his toppings. He enjoyed it. Miso was a lighter broth (obvi) with a good umami flavor and was not watered down. Solid. She loved it. I have never seen her finish a whole bowl of ramen before. There was a server in training that took our order with the help of the trainer- he did great. Staff was attentive with our waters. Bussers were also quick to notice and remove empty plates and bowls regularly making for an easy clean up after we leave and kept the shared table clutter free. Interior was modern, but casual. They had an expansive menu with vegetarian choices, sushi, buns, karage, etc. and a surprisingly large array of alcohol. I would def like to be back to try some drinks.

The ramen is served in large bowls, which looks impressive at first, but the actual portion of noodles and toppings felt underwhelming for the price. At that price point, I expected more both in quantity and flavor. We ordered the Dragon Tantan ramen, which the menu describes as spicy. It wasn't spicy at all. We asked our waiter if we could have a little more heat, and he nodded and brought over a tiny dipping-bowl-sized portion of some red paste with no explanation. There was no mention that it would cost extra. After finishing our meal, we were surprised to see a $5 charge on the bill for the "extra spice." We genuinely thought it was complimentary, and if it wasn't, that absolutely should have been communicated before serving it. The lack of transparency was disappointing and unnecessary. Overall: mid food, mid service, and not worth the price -- especially during such an exciting weekend in the city. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

I noticed yelp said they have soy-free options and thus called on Friday thinking it might be a bad idea as they're usually busy.. It was defintely hard for the person to hear a bit when they picked up. The staff did relay something about gluten free noodles.. We go and I asked which 4 of the soups I was eyeballing don't have soy - the staff said they can accomodate and replace any of the soy soups with a salt broth. After we ordered, the staff came back and checked in to make sure that my partner also didn't have an allergy.
