We were in the mood to try something new. We went in you go around towards the bakery portion to view everything that's in there, walk your way towards the cashier to order. The cashier was friendly and professional. The ambience was quaint, tables were clean, and it was an easy transition. We ordered a latte, one breakfast sandwich, an omelette and crêpes. The latte was hot and delicious. The breakfast sandwich, omelette and crêpes came quickly. The food was scrumptious and hot when it got to the table. The server was a little on the rude side, when she came to the table with the food, she asked who would be getting the sandwich and then stated next time you cannot have the hashbrowns on the side. To be clear, we did not ask her. It was offered by the cashier, even if we would've had to pay an extra fee. We did order some items to go, when a different young lady came to leave off the latte. Awesome find! Absolutely the best new bakery in Oceanside. I would actually say the best bakery in Oceanside. The owners are very involved, super approachable and usually are there every day. The only downside to this bakery is that they make specialty items like for example my favorite jalapeño cheese croissant! They are often sold out before noon on the weekend. My husband found this little gem through Uber Eats since we wanted to order takeout for breakfast. The order was ready when I arrived. There was social distancing. The price was just right. I am so happy I discovered this gem of a bakery! The variety of pastries and desserts is overwhelming! So many tasty treats to try. I was on the hunt for a good croissant so I ordered: 1. Everything Croissant - delicious! I took this home and made an egg sandwich out of it. Devine! 2. Chocolate Almond Croissant - decadent! It was so large I only ate half at a time but oh was it scrumptious. 3. Pumpkin Pie Chai - the best pumpkin drink I've ever had! The secret is they actually put a scoop of pumpkin in the drink! WHOA! YES please to this bakery! We came here on a Saturday morning at around 9-10am and there were ALOT of people! We ordered 4 orders of breakfast tacos, mango tart, plain croissant, blueberry scone, and white chocolate raspberry turnover. Oh and, can't forget the coffee. Organic french roast hot coffee. The pastries, were all bomb! The croissant stood out to me the most because of the flakey, buttery, chewiness it had. Ooooo I couldn't stop eating it! The breakfast tacos, although we ordered it togo and brought it home to eat, so it was a cold. But still amazing breakfast tacos! Believe me, I went back the next day and ordered more, but I had to control myself so I just got breakfast tacos with NO CHEESE and a slice of tiramisu with a 20 oz of cold brew. They messed up on my breakfast tacos order but that's okay. I wasn't in a hurry and they fixed it right away. Which is much appreciated. The tiramisu was ok. A little more on the sweeter side. But still nice rich and creamy. Cold brew was good, a little more citrus than how I like but still gave me a nice caffeine boost (so no complains there). My big issue with this place in a visit yesterday was that three out of four of the coffee pots were completely empty. The employee stated that they rely on customers informing them of the issue instead of having the initiative to check periodically. This would have been only my second time to this place. It had been awhile since the first visit, but I know that my husband and I purchased a few things to try. Unfortunately, I cannot recall what we had ordered, because we did enjoy some of what we purchased. I know that I did enjoy a hot chai, very rich and tasty, the way I like it. Our second visit about 3 weeks ago, was to purchase some pastry's for a neighbor. We came arrived around 9ish on a Saturday so people filled the eating area, having their breakfast. I was glad to see that there were still plenty of pastry to pick from. Everything looked so delicious. I enjoyed a chocolate filled croissant. It was light, flaky and the chocolate was rich. Very tasty, and I would happily get that again. The place is spacious, but has a cafeteria feel. The decor is maybe lacking for a big space. By no means am I a interior decorator, but that's my personal opinion. The service is okay, could use improvement. Just minor things that will probably improve with time. So I've been a big fan of Petite Madeline on Coast HWY for years. When Oside bakery open I was thinking I'm not going to give them a try because I'm so loyal to Petite. Well when I heard that Oside carried Moonglades ginger brew I had to stop by asap. I tried one of their pastries and it was pretty good and the price was very affordable. Now it wasn't as good as Petite but at Petite you also pay about double of what Oside charges. This place was super delicious! I went here with my boyfriend, a friend and her two kids. I had the chicken pesto sandwich and subbed out the cheese they had on it for brie, at no extra charge. My friend got the same sandwich but kept the regular cheese. Her sandwich was on a croissant and mine was on white bread. I tried hers and boyh of them and they were equally amazing. I think it just depends on what you are looking for... Hers was buttery and mine was more crunchy. My boyfriend got the roast beef sandwich and although he wasn't as pleased with his, he still thought it was really good. The kids had a PB&J and loved it of course! The environment was pleasant and clean. The staff was really friendly as well. On the way out we grabbed some sweet treats. The chocolate brownie was absolutely amazing! My friend told me about this place yesterday. So I decided to check it out. The food is good. Really good. The pastry that I got was good too. The only thing that bugged me about this place. And I'm not going to judge this place about it. Not right now anyways. Is the service. Because it's new and I feel they are working out all the kinks. I think there needs to be at least 3 people working to get the place running properly. One taking the orders... one serving plates and getting drinks out in a timely manner & the cook. Today there was only 2 people working. The girl taking the orders & the chef. He was cooking and serving the plates. While the other person was taking orders. We had to wait for our coffee until the line was somewhat down. I will go again. But... I hope it runs a little more smoothly next time. Update 1/28/18 This place is certainly a hit or miss kinda place. I really liked it in the beginning and was willing to over look some things. Because new businesses have a few kinks to work out. But having been here a few times.... I definitely see the flaws in this place. Dirty plates... cold food... people handling food WITHOUT gloves!!!! I work in a kitchen... and I have my food handlers card. So, I know what I'm talking about. It's gross! There needs to be at least 3 people up front! One making the coffee drinks, one taking the orders and one cleaning up. As for the food. You see when you plate a dish if it's dirty or not. Someone just didn't want to get another plate. And call me crazy... but I like my food hot/ warm. Not cold to the touch. I've had lots of crepes... and they've all come out warm. Today's crepes were so damn cold! It was very disappointing. Came here on a Sunday morning that can be very busy. Walk up to the register and order your food. Check out the bake goods displayed too. I wanted the creme brulee but will return for that. It looked yummy. Coffee and utensils are on the left side of the restaurant. The restaurant is pretty huge and spacious but not as many tables as I thought they would have. So it won't be a tight space like some places you dine at. Food: Traditional breakfast with eggs, fruit, bacon and pancakes. Eggs benedict Tupac says the eggs benedict was delicious. I didn't eat any of his food. I had the traditional breakfast. I ordered my eggs extra well done burn it. The outside was cooked good but the inside was watery that I had to chop it up and asked them to burn it. The bacon was cooked to my liking because I hate crispy overcooked soaked in oil bacon. Pretty standard "corner" eatery with food and coffee. Did have an experience where at 1pm they had already run out of menu items, which was kind of a bummer. The last two times I've been there the table hadn't been fully wiped down, so be prepared for the possibility of sticky arms. Parking is easy, and it's pretty bright with big windows. Finding it isn't the best because it's in that bad corner off Mission/El Camino. I don't recommend the communal water area. Not because of any virus or bug, but just because it seems kinda gross. Due to Covid there is no dine in however they have outdoor seating. You can also order in person and take to go or place a phone order and pick up. So we placed a phone order. Took about 4 attempts until someone answered. After placing our order, told it would take 20 minutes for it to be ready. Well once I got there I can see they were pretty busy. So I understand why they didn't answer right away. Food was ready right when I got there. I wanted to check that we had all our food since we kind of ordered a lot. My pancakes and crepes were burnt! I asked the girl up front if they could remake both for me. She was kind and apologetic and said she will have the back team remake it for me. A different staff member who seemed to be finishing up his break said he would check if my food was ready. Brought it out with a smile on his face. The staff here is great! And my food looked A LOT better. Redemption :) What we ordered was The Big Plate : Comes with 2 decent size pancakes, 2 sausages, 2 bacon links, hash browns, a few tiny pieces of baguette bread pieces, and your choice of eggs. All this for $9.25! I did get egg whites so that was a $1 extra coming out to $10.25 but still not a bad price at all! Everything tasted great. The pancakes were fluffy. Bacon was crispy. Sausage was juicy. Lots of food to keep you full for the day! Stuffed French Toast: Came with strawberries, whip cream, and Nutella on it. 4 beautiful golden triangular pieces. I didn't try it but my husband said it was pretty good. It was appealing to the eyes and mouth watering. $8.25. Nutella Crepes: Smaller than I expected but still enjoyable. Probably wouldn't get it again but glad I got to try it since I rarely get crepes. $6.50 Sausage, Egg & Cheese Sandwich : Your choice on a croissant or baguette bread. My husband went with the baguette but he wished he got a croissant. He said it was too much bread. And not enough meat or cheese. Can't really complain too much though cause this sandwich is only $5.25. I would defiantly come back again and order the Big Plate! The food is good and priced fairly. We tried the chocolate cake, the palmier, the almond croissant, the chocolate croissant and other yummies. Delish! Were so fresh both times, and we were there in the mid-afternoon and evening both times. This is the kicker . . . I went back on Christmas Eve for another plate of their Christmas cookies (I'd eaten all the others I had bought a couple days before!).
