Came here on a Sunday night and ordered Salmon Lover roll (exactly the same as Aniki's Sushi's "Jakes Salmon Lover roll" but smaller and cheaper lol), Salmon sashimi, and a Dinner Bento. Fish was fresh and servers were attentive for the most part. This is a very small restaurant so expect a wait when it's a Friday or Saturday night. Would've liked for the rolls to be a bit bigger but overall was a decent sushi restaurant in the area. They also give free edamame before your meal and ice cream after your meal! read more

I'm so glad they have stayed open, for take out, during this crazy time! Looking forward to sitting back inside, when we get the all clear. I have tried supporting them, by doing takeout almost every weekend, for the past 10 weeks. Their Bento boxes are AWESOME, cooked perfectly. The teriyaki options are charred just right with lots of flavor, while the tonkatsu options have a nice lite crispy breading. We have been going to this place for the past three years and it never disappoints. The owner is super nice and we always feel like we are family. They give complimentary appetizers such as gyozas and salmon. We usually order the three item bentos (grilled salmon teriyaki is my fave) and the portions are pretty big! We absolutely love this place. There is a nice variety and a fun place to go after work. We are never disappointed when it comes to the food. We specially like the pink dragon roll. The one area that I would be aware of is that depending on who is working the service can either be quick and attentive or slow and you have to ask for what you need. Everyone is very nice. I think just some additional training on how to manage multiple tables during busy times would help them out a lot. Randomly came here when the hubby and I got hungry while we were in the area, sitting in traffic. We were greeted immediately when we walked in and it was packed but we didn't wait too long for a table. We ordered the Kamikaze roll, Salmon Teriyaki and Fish Katsu. The entrées came with salad and miso soup which were both good. They even gave us some deep fried gyoza on the house! I thought that was cool and it was pretty tasty. Been coming here since Kioku across the street was sold. Regular customer at least once a week. Placed two orders on DoorDash tonight and when I got there I was accosted by older woman with limited English and even less customer service quality. I show her my ID that I had two orders thru DD. She didn't believe me even though my name was on the receipt. I show her on my phone that I got two orders placed, she didn't believe me even though I was showing her the email confirmation. Another gentleman came behind the counter, verified by one order was mine....didn't even check 2nd order. Then I have to grab the food, no thank yous, no you need anything else. I told them that I ordered bc I have spinal cord injury and typically it makes things easier; which is critical to me since I'm bed ridden 23 hrs a day. So my only hour out to get dinner for my family and elderly mom on a cold rainy Tuesday night was spent feeling like a criminal from a restaurant I patronize. We came here to try a new sushi place. Its hard for me as I have my favorite that nothing compares to, my rolls at my fav spot are to die for, but I said Im gonna try this place. So Friday night it was busy to say the least in the Newark shopping center where Ross and Safeway is. Parking was tough. We wrote our name on the wait list. There are chairs outside while you wait. The staff was very polite and nice. They called us about 5minutes later. Inside the place was stuffy and cramped with lots of chatty customers busy eating. I felt like we were so close to the other tables that it was a bit awkward. The service was very friendly and quick at bringing out the food and drink. My favorite was the crazy jalapeños they were tasty and not spicy actually. The fried tofu or "Agadashi" was not good and I would not order it here again. I've tasted way better. The rest of the rolls and miso were good nothing major but good. I liked the complimentary chocolate icecream at the end it just leveled me out. Well, this is a nice surprise. Came for lunch on a weekend. They offer complimentary gyoza and edamame before you get your order. I ordered come rolls. The cherry blossom was very good and came with seaweed salad in the middle. It was pretty, too. I also had a tuna outside roll that had snow crab and salmon inside. Can't remember name! It was good also. Funny thing, there was no wasabi inside the rolls, so they were a little plain. The Bento with fish katsu and teryaki beef was good. It was Japanese fish sticks!! One of our all time favorite sushi spots. It can get packed on the prime nights, however, totally worth the wait. Some of our favorite rolls here: Spider Rainbow Catapiller Cherry Blossom Spicy Tuna We have yet to have something we do not like. We get free potstickers about 75% of the time and they always give you ice cream with your check. It was green tea flavored for awhile but a couple times I have received strawberry and chocolate - PLEASE KEEP GETTING CHOCOLATE. My family of 4 were looking for a spot to eat a late lunch. At 3:30PM this was the only open place we could find in the neighborhood so we decided to give it a try. Great decision. We were promptly seated since there was only two other parties there. Hot tea and water were brought to the table right away. We ordered two rolls and two udons. The food came out quickly. To our surprise, the waitress also brought out a dish of adameme and a dish of gyoza on the house. How nice Both rolls were very nice (kamikaze and something else). The tempura udon was good. The other udon was excellent - it was huge and came in a hot clay pot. After the meal, we were offered green tea ice cream on the house :-). Overall, our dining experience was very enjoyable. If I could, I would eat sushi everyday because I love fish that much. For the first time, I think this place could make it happen. This place has great fish for an amazingly cheap price. Everything here is seriously a steal. I don't think that their fish is amazing but it's pretty damn good and for the portion and price, you're getting a real deal! They also have a range of different items from nigiri, rolls, to bento boxes. Their bento box option is one of the best I've seen since it comes with rice and soup but for where you normally get a side dish like salad and two entrees, you can choose all three entrees here! So if you wanted three meat entrees with rice, you can have it and you don't even have to pay extra! Size wise, this restaurant is best for groups of 4 or less but they do have a few large tables to sit larger parties. Definitely coming back here again and if you're in the area looking for a great sushi lunch/dinner option, definitely give this place a try! read more

I would say this place is a solid 3 stars. I give three mostly for the inconsistency of the food, and also the basic service. When the food's great, I would say it's solid 4 to 5 stars, but once I got rancid spicy tuna that was stale and very slimy, and I had to toss it. Granted, it's harder to tell freshness for a processed item like spicy tuna compared to sushi where they're simply working with the meat, but still. Service is usually just okay.. This place is good for the price it is charging. I had the tempura roll and California​ roll! Both were decently prepared, although I did feel the quantity was a little small. Miso soup was also good with plenty of tofu and seaweed. The take-out order took about 20 minutes to prepare and 2-3 minutes in-store to pick up. The area of the parking lot that O'Sushi is located in, is slightly crowded so be prepared to roam around or walk a farther distance till you find parking. We were at the spot 1ish and the wait time was around 20 mins. The restaurant is too compact, couldn't wait inside. Ambience: This is an L-Shaped, small & cramped place. Expect long wait time and fully packed house during peak hours. Table for 6s, 4s & 2s are their seating options. They had Sushi Bar and there was only 1 guy making all the sushi's at the counter other than kitchen staff (Hard to believe)!! Service: There were 2 waitresses and both attended us. Only one of them was patient enough, helped us with the menu options and was seemingly accommodating. Not to blame the reception of the other, but she served disinterestedly and so her service can't be greatly appreciated. Overall, although our order came quick, somehow felt the service here was not as pleasing as we've experienced elsewhere. Food (my review for Veg eaters) : Their gourmet sushi menu options looked impressive and tempting. We even asked for one of them to be customized to Veg, but sadly they don't modify. At the end, we settled with their "O'Bento Box-3 item Bento" for each of us. It's served with miso soup, salad & rice and comes in with 3 choices from their overall Bento Box selection list. We picked up their Edamame, Avocado roll, Tempura, California roll, Gyoza (veg) & Kappa Mak (Cucumber roll). - Miso Soup was Hot & Flavorful. - Salad dressing was tasty and good. - We prefer Edamame to be served with garlic, but O'Sushi serves only Plain Edamame and to our dismay, they don't serve Garlic Edamame at all. - Avocado roll had mushy Avocados and the rolls did not come with the usual stiffness, they easily broke. - Liked their Tempura. Came with different veggies like onion, broccoli etc. They tasted great, not too oily and crispy to munch. - Gyoza is a Japanese styled Pan-Fried Savory Dumplings, came with 5 small sized pieces. This was good, well cooked and the veg stuff inside were tasty. - California roll had avocado & imitation crab, topped with sesame dressing. This tasted average, rolls were not stiff. - Kappa Mak or Cucumber roll was presented tight surprisingly. Guess it's because of the seaweed cover, which shielded from breakage. Well, they tasted decent. - The plain rice was not accompanied by any interesting side to add flavor to it. Extra veggies would've complimented it better. **SUSHI ROLLS WERE SLIGHTLY COLD** Price: 3 item Bento Box Pricing differs according to meal. It's $10.95 for Lunch and $14.95 for dinner and if in case you wanna add any same repeated item of your choice to the bento box selection, they charge you extra $3. Very good value with decent selection! The three item bento was only 15 and it could seriously feed two full grown adults. The rolls are fun and HUGE! We tried maybe 4 diff rolls between a group of 5 girls, and every roll was huge. Def a nice change from the sushi places in the city where it costs a kidney per piece. Also tried the chicken karaage--decent but nothing amazing. Tuna poki was good. The wait staff and chef/owner are also very friendly! Since this place is kind of new, it isn't too packed so you can just chat with all of them. All in all, great food at great value. Would def come back! read more

This place looked busy so as I'm parked in the parking lot I called in to see if there was a wait. They answered the phone and said no wait come on in. 10 seconds later I walk in and we now have to wait 10/15 mins for a table. Typical bait and switch, I hate waiting especially when they quoted me no wait. As we get seated we wait another 10 mins for water, our kids are coughing as they are getting over a cold and not a server in sight. I had to flag a lady down just to get water. We finally order two 3 item bento box and one sushi roll. The sushi roll was called "#1" it was the most bland non taste having roll I've ever eaten. The only flavor I could taste on out of the roll was the siracha. As for the bento box it too was like eating paper. No taste at all, grilled chicken was dry, salmon was dry but the katsu was ok but how can u mess up katsu . Best thing we got was the free ice cream read more

Food is great. It's everything I expected it to be. HOWEVER. The service was not. There was a three waitresses, 2 older and 1 younger. I will have you know that the younger one was rude as hell. We were served potstickers on the house, at first when she brought it to the table me and my gf were confused because we didn't order potstickers. I asked the younger server "this is on the house?" She replied in the most zombified tone "thiiiissssss isssss oooonnnnn the hooouuuuuussseeeee" like seriously? Was that really necessary? A "yes" would have been fine. Another reason why I gave a 1 star is because the servers don't seem to care about the customers. We had a table against a wall, so there was only another table next to us. This couple had the audacity to change their baby's diaper right next to us. I immediately lost my appetite, the scent was insanely disgusting. Two servers walked by and looked at the baby and did nothing about it. What is even more disgusting is the fact that the father was describing the feel of the diaper out loud. Like honestly do you have any respect for the people around you? As servers, you guys should also be noticing these things and handling situations like these properly, not just let customers do whatever they want. I was utterly disgusted. read more

First off they give out a lot of complimentary stuff to make you feel welcome, like edamame, pot stickers and Ice cream. and their customer service has definitely improved that what it was. This is a improving place and its not the same as it was before, not that it was bad before. you have to give credit for ownership that listens to critics and improves their restaurants and steps up their game. They also have a bunch of TV's here to watch the game, usually have Warriors on which is a plus.
