I came to this shop because I read good reviews and so I was comfortable taking my LR2 to get my AC fixed, Fix the ABS light that wouldn't go away, and try to figure out why the "low coolant level" light came on even when I was filling it everyday. So I brought it to OC Rovers, they were really cool and friendly, asked questions about the repairs and soon enough I was leaving my LR2 there and went home. About a day passes and they text me saying they have the invoice for all the repairs they were going to do and charge me for, paid over $1000. Yes they fixed my AC which is one of the main issues I was having, but on the invoice I was very confused because they charged me for a "Radiator Plastic Tank" because apparently the radiator was leaking coolant so they replace the plastic tank that holds the coolant when they clearly wrote on the invoice it was the radiator that was leaking the coolant? So that's $500 for the plastic tank I didn't need and $500 for labor. They removed my left rear wheel hub bearing for whatever reason and replaced it and charged me for that. So I pick my car up. The AC works, awesome! But the ABS light is still popped up when I specifically said the AC and ABS light were my only concerns and they wrote that on the invoice but didn't fix it and charged me a ton for a part I didn't need and labor that wasn't necessary. Also, my car was at that shop for nearly a week and everyday I would text asking if the car was ready and I was just getting told no no no everyday, not like I need my car to go to my job ya know? They were never able to figure out why the ABS light wouldn't go away they said they "think" it's the ABS Module that needs to be replaced but I couldn't pay another $500 for that so I didn't get that fixed. ABS light is still on, now my check engine light is on when it was not before I took my car to them. Never had it pop up on my dash before I brought it to OC Rovers. They didn't fix anything. I paid $1000 for some half ass labor. Very very frustrating. Now my car is over heating if I drive around with the AC on for too long like it's 500 degrees outside and if I want to drive my car I probably shouldn't turn on the AC so it won't over heat which it does every time. I TRUSTED YOU GUYS AND YOU DIDN'T FIX MY CAR AT ALL YOU MADE IT WORSE. Even on the invoice they stated they weren't able to fix the ABS light popping up so like what were you guys doing the whole 4-5 days my car was there???? These guys are great. I've been taking my 04 Discovery here for a little over a year with no issues. They never upsell or try to dig you out over extra repairs. I had them put in an expansion tank over a year ago and recently took my truck in for a transmission service and they noticed that the expansion tank they put it was cracking again and swapped it out for a brand new metal expansion tank at no cost. As a Land Rover enthusiast, I always take my vehicle here for routine maintenance. Gerry knows his stuff and never tries to upsell me services or parts I don't need, unlike some of the service managers at some of the dealers I've taken my vehicle to. A major tune up is significantly less expensive than a Land Rover dealer. If I ever need to add an ARB bullbar, or a suspension lift, I would take it here rather than a dealer, just because I doubt the dealer would know how to do it. It seems like Land Rover dealerships usually only deal with the high end clientele who doesn't know much about their Land Rovers. Gerry has a good background in Baja racing in Land Rovers, so he has plenty of fabrication experience. I left my sunroof open one night and it rained. There was a puddle on my center console which disabled the command shift module. I took it to OC Rovers and got it fixed the next day. Keep in mind that they normally don't stock the more unusual parts, but they should have it in the afternoon. They saved me a lot of Land Rover maintenance costs. The only drawback is that it's a lot farther than my usual Land Rover dealer. read more

It is hard to find an honest mechanic! I took my 2013 LR 4 for the service maintenance and they told me it would be $350. After I dropped off my car they called me telling me it will be $580 more because it needed a leak detection pump replaced and that the pump costs $480 plus labor!! Are you kidding me?? I then called around for other estimates and i called 4 places and the cheapest I found was $280 to do the same work! The other dealer told me the part costs $180 not $480 that this place was trying to charge me!! They take advantage of people to see who falls for it but guess what I didnt!! I will never take my car here again!! I am not ok with getting ripped off!! read more

I towed my car here two weeks ago for a diagnosis. I let Jerry know I am having a difficult time financially and that I had 4 payments left before I could do any repairs. He has not been able to diagnose for two weeks. I called frequently to find out status and was rushed off the phone that they didn't know anything yet. I never signed a work order or any paperwork. They did not have any approval to do any work. After two weeks of nothing he said I owed him $480 and would not release my car. I still don't know what is wrong and have to take my car to the dealer. He took advantage of me and I feel violated. Come to find out Jerry and this business has a bad reputation. This had not been the first time that the police had been here to try and help someone with this situation. He could have cared less how it affected me financially and fixed nothing and did no diagnosis on the car. Just a tip don't ever take your kids around him either!! read more
