*As a note, I have only gone during the lunch special. I was excited when this buffet finally opened, and I was not disappointed. It's quite sizeable and while there is a lot of seating it never felt crowded when browsing options. Lunch options are of course different than evening, and overall pretty standard fare but definitely felt to be higher quality. They did have some elements that stand out compared to other buffets - a dim sum station (with authentic options, not just catering to the general crowd pleasing options) and sushi freshly prepared ranging from classic options to some with fun flare like a mango roll. Everything tasted fantastic and the 90 min restriction was reasonable. Definitely be prepared for a bit of a wait as it's very popular (likely due to being so new and the lunch special being a good price for what you get). The wait area outside has some photographic elements, and also a gazebo style seating for something different. As a heads up: When you arrive, they don't sign you in traditionally and instead rely on a single (poorly designed) QR code. They really should make the code more easily accessible (current placement has it so people are blocking flow of entry and exit traffic trying to scan) but also use a more simplified code. It has sooo many elements (and when I went included items that shouldn't be present noting it was clearly a screenshot. There was a "menu" hamburger over part of the code). A lot of people had difficulty which then meant having to pull the hosts to have them manually add you. It all worked out, but redesigning this process would make first impressions more smooth. read more

Wow! Such a great buffet! Such a vast variety of foods. I noticed that there was japanese and Chinese foods. Like any usually buffet really. The lunch special is very affordable per person. There are different foods that I usually don't see in any other buffet. Like there are about 6 to 8 bamboo steamers with dumplings and meats that smell amazing! You can smell the sweetness of the spices used to marinade the meats when you open up each bamboo steamer. The five spice is especially very alluring to me! The smell ales you feel warm and cozy inside. They. Also have about 4 or 5 different soups that they serve there. Quite the variety but a bit bland, my personal opinion. The outside is huge! And kinda good waiting area for when it gets busy. We went during their soft opening and i think my overall experience is good. They got a lot of options like sushi, seafood, soup station, hibachi grill, desserts and fruits, warm meats, dim sum, and traditional Chinese items. My son particularly likes the general Tsao chicken and ate it the whole night. I was very happy with fried oyster, boiled shrimp with cocktail sauce, hibachi was good flavor and sushi was good. I dislike that they have to measure each kid by height. My older son barely eats and he's 6 so charging him is ok bc he is 6 But I have a 3 year old that is literally sitting in a high chair and they wanted to measure him!!!! We visited Ocean Buffet on a random weekday for lunch. It's a huge restaurant with beautiful decor and a neat little outdoor area for waiting/hanging out. Lunch is $17.99 during the week which is a steal! The buffet has one of the most expansive sushi offerings i've seen at a buffet. Aside from that they have dumplings, 4 or 5 different types of soup, hibachi, your typical asian buffet food like fried rice, lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, etc and many seafood choices. The dessert area is quite impressive as well. When I walked up and started realizing how much they truly had I just kept saying "wow" because I was so impressed, especially for the price! I tried 7 or 8 different types of sushi, some of the hot offerings and dessert. I was very pleased with everything, I'm not sure I tried anything that I was disappointed in. I am not really a big fan of buffets but when I saw that Ocean Buffet had opened up I wanted to give it a shot. It's a beautiful space that is well thought out and has a clean and modern look to it with hints of the cultural elements to it. When my husband and I arrived it was very busy but we're able to be seated right away. For some reason I thought someone would give us information on the process since it was our first time there but we waited 5 mins for a server to come by and take our drink orders and then we were off to start loading up! I think for $31 AYCE you get a pretty vast selection, and it's not hard at all to get your moneys worth. I took this opportunity to try swai fish since I've never had it, and it was sooooo buttery and delicious! It does taste very "fishy" so for those who have that complaint about certain seafood items you'd probably want to steer clear of it. I also grabbed some garlic butter shrimp, lo mein, Japanese chicken, plantains (pleasant surprise!), a variety of sushi rolls, string beans, and MORE SUSHI! My husband loaded up on sushi and the chicken skewers and also tried the cheese wontons. We both enjoyed all the items with the exception of the cheese wontons which were unfortunately soggy on the bottom by the time we grabbed them. I thought the string beans were a bit cold as well but I also grabbed from the last bits of it, so can I really hold that against this place? My husband and I heard of this place a few weeks ago and we tried to come on New Year's Day. There were so many people waiting outside that we left immediately. I did not get to try it out. Over the weekend we were back in that area and we didn't see a big crowd so we went to try it again. We checked in using a QR code and we waited only about two minutes. The place looks very nice, lots of cool decor inside and outside. The tables and chairs are nice and the lighting is good. There are a lot of buffets in the Orlando area that are kind of dim and sketchy and usually the food is mediocre. I will say that all of the food we tried was actually really good. There wasn't anything that was gross or nasty. We did feel like there were less options than we would see at a typical buffet, but there was still plenty of stuff. We felt the price was a little bit high, but we figure it is due to the crab legs being unlimited. The workers were nice and made sure our drinks were filled and cleared our dirty plates from the table quickly. They were also working to keep everything stocked at the buffet and clean. Things get pretty messy quickly at a buffet, but I do think they were trying their best to Keep things tidy. Ocean Buffet was an experience. It's exceptionally busy with the excitement of the fresh and new - which, hey, means the food is constantly fresh and new as they keep up with the demand. The options were abundant, though mostly basic. The sushi selection was fresh but nothing was labeled. Each roll was basically a variation of the same ingredients so nothing stood out. Their dim sum selection was decent but lacked much texture or flavor. The soup selection was great, but again, lacked much flavor. I was a big fan of their fresh shrimp - plump and clean. I tried a little bit of everything from hot selections. Once again, everything was hot, crisp, and fresh but didn't deliver much on the taste front. I might go back in a few months after they are out of the soft stage, but I don't think the lack of flavor is caused by the soft opening.
