Carving station. Fresh crepes. Omelette station. WALL of deserts. Full raw bar. Crab legs. Mimosas. Great selection of traditional breakfast options and salads. If you are not satisfied here, give up (smile)!! And the topper was the live jazz trio playing in the beautifully sunlit rotunda surrounded by all of the aforementioned delicacies. Expensive, but well worth it to treat yourself occasionally.

I tried some of mom's beef bento box- she got the bulgogi beef and we were both a little shocked that it was ground beef and not thin slices, but the flavor was spot on. Now: the food! *First, for the technically challenged, be warned that the menu is available via phone and QR Code. If you want a printed menu, too bad. Otherwise... We began our meal with Agedashi Tofu, which is fried cubes of tofu that have a magnificently thin layer of a crisp skin encasing melted tofu, and there's a perfect sauce to dip them in. I have been thinking about these for an hour now and can't even imagine how they are made. A delicious magic trick! Next, we had an Eel and Shrimp Tempura Roll, a Shrimp Tempura Bento Box, and two Nigiri and Sashimi lunch specials. The Tempura was light and crisp. The bento box included a spring roll, fried rice, and gyoza, all perfectly flavored. The Nigiri and Sashimi fish was served cold and absolutely fresh, and was sliced generously. The Nigiri and Sushi lunches included a California roll, 4 pieces of sushi, and six pieces of sashimi, and really was a lot of excellent food for a bargain $24. I almost forgot that we started, along with the Agedashi Tofu, with a very subtly flavored miso soup with tofu and seaweed. This was also perfection, with just a breath of ginger and perfect salt. I hope I've convinced you fans of Japanese food to try this restaurant. If you're new to Japanese food's many varieties and intricacies, or hesitant to eat raw foods, there are always cooked meat and fish dishes like Tempura or Teriyaki you can order, and then you can explore by tasting the more exotic things your friends and family order. Maybe you'll develop a taste for it! If you already have a taste for Japanese food, don't pass up an opportunity to eat a wonderful meal at Mikado, in MetroWest.

Hamachi Carpaccio (Japanese yellowtail, yuzu tobiko, ponzu, kaffir lime oil, yuzu kosho, serrano peppers). This was not carpaccio. It was a menu play with the wagyu carpaccio right above it. But it was five excellent slices of fresh hamachi with a very bright sauce that it was laying in. Generous slices, too. Great apps. Mains Berkwood St. Louis Sticky Ribs (braised, then crispy tempura, tossed in smoked chili, hoisin sauce). I'll say it, these were the best Asian ribs I've ever had in Orlando. Tempura crispy exterior, melt in your mouth interior, and whatever they tossed it in, including sesame seeds, formed a beautiful little crust on the outside. Best bite of the night. Hands down. Two Makimono (pick 2: tom yum roll, hawaiian x.o roll, booki booki roll, spicy tuna roll). Tom Yum (panko shrimp, avocado, topped with torched salmon, tom yum aioli, thai chili flakes, micro cilantro, lemon wedge). Hawaii XO (yellowtail, avocado, tobanjan aioli, crispy shallots, topped with white fish, lemon confit, kaiware, pink salt). Both were very good rolls. The Tom Yum aioli was a very unique touch, which is what I was looking for. I'm so jaded with rolls nowadays, I really need to be impressed. The Hawaii roll was nice, too. Looking back, I don't recall or see any crispy shallots. Make sure to compare your rolls to the menu when you come here. Desserts C4 (chocolate lava cake with dulce de leche, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate ganache sauce). This was good. Textbook lava cake with all the decadent flavors you except, and a nice, cold ice cream to pair perfectly with it. Ube Cheesecake +$8 (graham cracker crust, topped with torched meringue, toasted coconut). Only two dollars more on the regular menu, but eight dollars more here. I still wanted it so badly, but I recommend you pass on this upgrade. It was a very good ube cheesecake, but it was not add-eight-dollars better than the creme brulee would have been. Overall, Kabooki is a very good little spot. With everyone and their mother offering fresh fish and sushi rolls nowadays, Kabooki stands above a lot of them in terms of quality and quantity of their offerings. Eveey bite gives you a nice surprise wondering what are in the ingredients. We came to celebrate ourvson's birthday, and I mentioned it in my Open Table. We took the only 6 top, and a greeting card signed by the entire staff was on the reserved table. We got seated right away. The choice between still or sparkling water is nice. I like the wooden spoon and their chopsticks, which have both ends pointed, making sharing easy. Attention to details seems to be the theme. The contemporary background music creates a good mood. Deemed lighting adds romantic to the ambiance. Our server, Tìmmy, a graduate from UCF, is very professional and menu knowledgeable. We asked him about the sake, and he explained and assisted the birthday young man to pick the floral flavored chilled that went very well with the food. By the way, they only serve cold sake. They have set nenus called pairings, but we chose to explore with a la carte. We started with Nigrini rolls, and other handcrafted dishes such as Tuna on Tuna, Truffle Salmon, Tuna Carpaccio, and Miso Salmon, the clams in basil, cucumbercsalad, Taiwanese cabbage. for apetizers. We liked both Claypot items, but Tình recommended trying one first, so we selected the crab Claypot The sushi rice and the perfect marinating make this rice dish ready to go with no further sauces and delicious. We ended up ordering the second, which is Beef and mushroom, too. We also tried the oysters, which came from British Columia, smaller but tasty. The Pear Crudo looks and tastes great. I must say it's not a place to eat daily, but I highly recommend for special occasions for small groups. Kappo means counter sushi bar, so next visit, I will plan to go with smaller group and sit at the counter, talking to the chefs and staff. I like the teamwork among the diningroom staff, which is a great kudos knowing it is a chef's driven concept. They help each other. While Tình was clearing our table, the host came by with another empty tray then took the other full tray for him, which I really admire the gesture. Real, practical teamwork. Too full for desserts. We save it for next time. We had a wonderful time.

I asked for a sweet tea and he asked if I'd like a black tea or a green tea. I ordered the green tea thinking it would be a hot tea. Instead, it was an iced sweet green tea, very light and almost floral; absolutely loved it! We started with the Shumai and green mussels. There were 6 Shumai in the order and they were of a generous size with ample filling and delicate dough. The dipping sauce was already on the bottom of the bowl, which I liked rather than trying to dip them in another container. The green mussels were also prepared differently as I've usually had them cooked whole with the sauce on top; however, these were cut up into small pieces and then mixed with the sauce and masago. They were a bit charred which I did like. All of the sushi was delicious but the stand outs were the oasis (love me a good lemon slice on sushi) as a fantastic rice- less option, and the Mimi roll as my out of comfort pick. I don't think I had ever had apple in sushi before but I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed it! The sweetness and the crunch really paired well with the asparagus and the spicy filling. Will for sure be back for this roll and the sweet green tea alone!
