Ogliastro is a really cozy restaurant! My friend and I enjoyed the ambiance a lot and it waa great place for us to sit down for a nice meal. The Rucola e Pera salad was my favorite, every bite had a nice mix of ingredients and the pizza croutons were a fun add! The Carciofi pizza and shishito peppers were also great. I don't believe I've tried fior di latte (the cheese on the pizza) before but I enjoyed it a lot! Last but not least the service was great, would definitely come back for a cozy meal!

Sat in the front booth table on a Monday after a casual bike ride. We ordered the pollo salad with breadcrumbs and green goddess dressing and the carbonara pizza (white pizza with egg) - I would recommend 2 eggs for future. The pollo salad was delicious and hit the spot! Re-ordered it several times as takeout and it has been delicious but the chicken has been inconsistent. The first time dining in, the chicken was flattened and crispy. Other times it has been piping hot but not as crispy. The overall flavor is consistent though. I'm just going to have to ignore the B rating. There is plenty of seating indoors and out in the garden, which is a lovely option during warmer months. A fan!

Love the pizza, love the atmosphere. We ordered a three pizzas -- two red and one gluten free -- for four people, and shared two starter salads (the Mista). While I didn't taste the gluten-free, I heard it was wonderful. I can personally attest to the delicious Coppa and Polpette pies. All the food was fantastic -- as was the bottle of Sangiovese. So good that I dove in and forgot to take photos. Prices are reasonable, service is wonderful. Atmosphere is cozy and vibrant. Great place for pizza and wine!

Ogliastro is a solid restaurant that serves good pizza and more in a cozy, welcoming ambiance. What I like about Ogliastro is that they have an extensive pizza menu that, alongside classic pies like pepperoni, meatballs, arugula and prosciutto, mushrooms, etc... they also have inventive pies such as clams and shrimp, homemade lamb sausage, or pancetta and potatoes. You can also build your own pie with the ingredients listed under "The Constructivist" section of their menu, which sounds fun! And if you would like something else than pizza, their extensive menu offers a lot of side dishes such as burrata, meatballs, marinated artichoke wrapped in speck, baby broccoli with anchovy and pecorino, roasted cauliflower, roasted figs, and more. I haven't tried it (yet), but their Oli Burger with short rib and brisket blend with dry aged fat and Raclette cheese sounds amazing. Their salads are also great, such as Rucola e Pera (pear, arugula, frisée, gorgonzola, pizza croûtons), Barbabietole (charred baby beets, beet leaf pesto, whipped goat cheese, pine nuts, Campari sauce), or Ogliastro (Tuscan kale, guanciale, ricotta salata, pine nuts, tomato confit vinaigrette). One thing to keep in mind is that service is a bit slow, so if you come here with a hungry small child, you may want to have some snacks at hand. They have several cocktails ($14; $11 for HH[1]), and 12 rotating beers on tap. This is a great dinner option after visiting nearby Brooklyn Museum[2] and/or Botanic Garden[3]. I'm a fan. ------------------- [1] HH: Monday to Thursday 5- 7 at the bar only. https://www.ogliastropizza.com/happy-hour [2] https://www.yelp.com/biz/brooklyn-museum-brooklyn-2 [3] https://www.yelp.com/biz/brooklyn-botanic-garden-brooklyn-2

Came in by myself after checking out the neighborhood and had such a good time. Got there in time for happy hour, so I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender. He was so knowledgeable about the menu, the owners and the restaurant. I had such a great time learning about the place. From the HH menu, I went with this lovely women owned winery's Rosé. It was amazing! Ended up getting two of them and a glass of red from the same brand after. I wasn't super hungry so I only ordered the burrata app. Absolutely delicious!!! Could have licked the plate. Can't wait to come back!

This place was so good!! Me and my sister shared their Melanzane pizza which is a white pizza with roasted eggplant and pepper, garlic, basil, and ricotta. We also shared a shirley temple which wasn't what I was expecting but really amazing regardless. Would def go back!

I was anticipating coming here after the brooklyn botanical garden light show! Then before, two hours of closing they rushed us out and then I asked my food to go and this is what they gave me! This is how much they rushed us out the pizza boxes were inside out!!!! I ordered three pizzas a salad and multiple drinks. That is unacceptable. I spent well over $200 at this place. I'm embarrassed for this establishment. I won't come back ever. This is terrible! I am shocked at the non attentiveness I was treated just because you were closing "soon". Shocking!

we had a great experience at ogliastro. the service was really good. i dont think they have reservations but when we came in on a tuesday they could seat us easily. we split the cavolfiore (cauliflower) as a starter which was good. for mains i got the siciliana salad with a side of grilled chicken and my mom got the pollo salad. the flavor combination on the siciliana salad was amazing! also their grilled chicken was super delicious as well. i will deff be coming back.

Stopped by this restaurant today on the way home from the Brooklyn Museum. It's tucked away, but definitely a cute spot. The patio area is very intimate, yet inviting. I ordered the carbonara pizza with sausage. It was surprisingly tasty! Staff was very friendly, which is a plus.

Arugala/prosciutto/shaved parmesan and sausage/mozzarella minus the olives pizzas!

Given the lines, if Im in the area I can see myself going back, but also feel there are other places throughout the city that would provide me the same taste Im looking for. Especially when considering how crowded the inside can be that its hard to find a spot to stand to eat (luckily there are counters and high-tops but they can be very crowded). They did have a cantaloupe ice cream that seemed really intriguing which would be something I'd likely come in for. The people I did see get it seemed really satisfied, and it felt like a unique flavor that I haven't seen many places offer.

Came here in the past and always a line out the door so didn't bother. Finally had a chance to try yesterday for late lunch with a friend when there were many empty tables inside, so no line and no waiting. We ordered a medium Margarita based pizza with pepperoni & roasted peppers toppings. We were really surprisd the pizza came out in less than 5 minutes after waiter served us our drink order. Upon biting into it, right away what popped up in my head is 'why is the pizza crust so soggy?' Maybe the knife & fork on the table should've been a dead give away. One saving Grace is the sauce does have a sweetness to it, not tangy like some other famous shop in the Village. And also the 2 toppings were tasty enough to save this dining experice. Before leaving the restaurant, asked our waiter about the crust, he said since restaurant wasn't busy, the kitchen had already pre-made the pizzas, so it was just a matter of heating it and bring it out, hence the fast service. Pro-tip: next time (a big if for this reviewer), one must ask the crust be 'well-done,' in order to get its texture to the desired degree of cripiness that one should expect from what should have been an iconic pizza place in NYC.

I tried looking up this pizza from Target Richfield for a review, but it sent me to the NYC location, so forgive me if this review is in the wrong thread. Anyway, wow. I've been to New York City and ate at the original Joe's Pizza. What an epic slice of pizza. Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

I do regret that I ate it cold after driving 30 minutes to pick it up so I did not get the full experience. But the crust was still crunchy. I do wish the toppings were a little heavier but the tomato chunks in the sauce tasted very fresh. A very classic New York style pizza and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real cheese. Vegan garlic knots were great too.

So, eating at this restaurant before the Bruce Springsteen concert, the other night was a thrill. Ate with lifelong friends. We shared several appetizers, including meatballs, a margarita, pizza, bake clams, and spicy shrimp. All were delicious. I had a seafood pasta with squid ink that was memorable. Lots of seafood and the pasta was fantastic! Nice bottle of wine at a reasonable price. Good service. Frankly, I think the prices were cheaper than what I pay in Austin area, and the food and venue were authentic and much better than in Texas!

Fresh mozzarella, a nicely thin crisped crust, sweet tomato sauce, and fresh basil makes this simple pizza taste great. The fried calamari also impressed. It tasted notably fresh--light, clean, and not overly chewy like pre-frozen versions can sometimes be. While I can't say for certain, it had that just-prepared quality that makes a difference. The Caprese salad was a great way to start the meal, with fresh tomatoes, creamy burrata, and a balsamic drizzle was a nice light start. The atmosphere leans old-school Italian, which adds to the charm and character. Service was fine--nothing remarkable, but no major issues either. That said, my overall rating takes a big hit solely for the restaurants ridiculous tipping policy choices rather than the food itself. The automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill was frustrating. The menu does indicate that 18%, will automatically apply, or will be 20% for parties of six or more. We were only three people, so it felt inconsistent and unnecessary. On top of that, the added cost for credit card usage didn't help. I don't mind tipping for good service! In fact, I tip well--but I prefer having the choice and I'm old school so it's the principle of the matter. Being forced into it, takes away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Bottom line: the food is strong and worth trying, but the billing practices leave a bad taste. If those were adjusted, this could easily be a higher-rated experience.
