OHSO is one of our favorite spots for a good brunch or a low key dinner. The vibes are casual and fun, the staff is super friendly, and the food and drinks are on point. Came here to straighten out a bet I made with my best friend. We did it over a mule with peach whiskey which was delicious. We were however seated in a very cold area so it was a bit uncomfortable. We also ordered the buffalo chicken dip which was incredible. It had the perfect amount of chicken and hot sauce. It was a bit pricey and should have came with more chips. My main meal was the Arizona burger. It was good, however I remember it being juicer, and better at the Arcadia location. Still not bad. I tried my friends Cobb salad and it was well done. The bacon was fresh, it had avocado and egg which was all good. All in all a great choice. We came by here for dinner and drinks on a Saturday night. Previously we had been to this location and the Phoenix one but only for their brunch special which is also very good. When we arrived all of the strip on Gilbert was packed so we knew we'd be waiting for a bit but we didn't mind. Once we checked in with the hostess they let us know that we could go over to either of the two bars inside and get a drink and wait in the back patio area for our names to be called. We thought this was great because it allowed us to explore more of the restaurant and start trying some of their beers. From the main entrance you can't tell just how big this place is but it's a massive brewery with tons of seating scattered throughout. They even have a dog friendly back patio where we chose to sit and wait with our beers. We chose to go for some of their own brews that were a bit out of the ordinary and landed on the Vanilla Peanut Donut Brown Ale and the Matcha Man Randy Savage Stout. They definitely had a unique taste to them and slight hints of the flavors mentioned and we enjoyed both compared to usual IPA's we get since they were very smooth. In the time we got our drinks we were seated which was a huge underestimate of time from the initial 1.5 hour wait we were told that ended up only being 30 minutes. Their food is much of what you would expect from a brewery with lots of burgers, sandwiches and more heavy meals which pair great with a few beers. We decided on the pilgrim sandwich and the brat burger since we wanted to try something new and unique to the restaurant. Both had really unique tastes with the pilgrim sandwich being like a thanksgiving leftover sandwich and all the flavors of oktoberfest in the brat burger. We also ordered two more beers with our meal, the Walking Distance Kolsch and the Willet Reserve Bourbon Barrel Morning Grind Imperial Stout. The kolsch was very smooth and flavorful and the imperial stout had great balance and hints of chocolate and oats. After 10PM everyday they also offer late night happy hour on some of their food items from $5-$10 which isn't bad. Since we each had a few beers we decided to grub a bit more and chose to get and order of the Green Chile Pork fries. They reminded us of similar fries we'd had at another brewery and they were a good amount and just what we needed at the end of a long night. Overall we thought the staff was helpful and the food and beer were good and fairly priced. Never has a bar made me rethink where I live until I went to OHSO. The bar has everything - restaurant, brewery, bar, TVs, a patio, even an arcade. My friends and I went for the Cornhole competition while we were staying the night in Phoenix. We had five people so the bartender running it literally joined so I'd have a partner. The rest of the staff was also really fun and engaging. And there were so many people there on a Monday! The drinks were fantastic, but the food was average, especially for the price. We stopped in for brunch on Saturday and had the salmon avocado bruschetta and mimosa - way fair pricing $18, however I'll try something different on my next visit. The bruschetta was good but they have a least a dozen more entrees on that menu alone.(Brunch menu). We had our 2 dogs with us as we had just come from the Gilbert Farmers Market. What a cool little park area they have for the pups to play or potty while waiting for a table. The patio area is very nice and well shaded. We went to OHSO just hours after going to the local Gilbert's Farmers Market. We hadn't had a meal yet, so we were ready. And OHSO did not disappoint. Get there early enough to sit at the bar: super friendly bar staff with unique cocktails. You can watch the kitchen staff prep delicious plates while you sip on a beverage. Recommend a breakfast dish and along with it, they offer a penny beer! ( 10 oz). They make their own bourbon, whiskey and vodka. We sampled ( at the Farmers Market) the Peach Whiskey that was smooth and tasty. Also, the lemon verbena vodka that had a refreshing flavor. Multiple brews available for your taste buds . In addition to the bar area, there is a fantastic outside location and seating area that is "dog friendly" We ordered the breakfast bowl & breakfast wrap. The food was good. No problem with that other than timing of the dishes, where one friend had to wait 15 minutes after everyone else was served to get her brunch. The main problem here is the health code that your bartender violated while handling glassware. I saw her reach for stemware in an overhead rack and grab multiple glasses by their inside and outside rims. This is a health code violation. It appears Ohso may have to train their bar staff in appropriate glass handling. Here is a copy of Barninja's website to support this. Mainly it's common sense. 1) Avoid handling any part of the glass that might come into contact with a person's mouth. Touching the rim or inside of the glass is a health code violation. After a long morning of spin class with the homies, we all came to OHSO to invade their restaurant for some brunch. Their brunch deals are great --- Free mimosa or 10 oz. AZ local beer with a purchase of brunch! Aw yis! First things first, get the OHSO Popcycle Blonde [It tastes like a lemon raspberry popsicle at an ABV of 4.5%]. For food, we all shared a Breakfast Bowl with steak, Chicken & Waffles, OHSO Monte Cristo, and the Biscuits & Beer Gravy. I was the one that ordered the Biscuits & Beer Gravy because I make poor [but delicious] choices. YAAAS! OHSO Dookie Good food, rough service. I don't wear the fanciest threads but I try to tip 20-25% every time. I know serving can be hard especially in today's environment, but I could feel that our server made a snap judgement of me and my party. Every time she came to drop something off I had to flag her down or call out to her because she would run away from our table as fast as she could. Great place to come for a popular sporting event where you expect a lot of people and a loud, rowdy place. Entertainment for kids and good beer (hence the 2 stars), but they lost my business on April 16, a slow Tuesday night. We brought some friends in who were visiting from Chicago to watch the Diamondbacks v Cubs game. We had talked up the outdoor space and ambiance in advance. When we came in, very slow, all TV's turned to the NBA playoff game. I asked a bartender if one TV could put on the baseball game so we could enjoy a few beers and the game with our Chicago friends. She said she had to ask her manager so she left and came back and said the manager told her it was decided at their pre-shift meeting that ALL TVs would show the basketball game, so no, she could not put the baseball game on. I really enjoyed OHSO and it seems like I'm not the only one because the place was pretty packed. I ordered the hot chicken & biscuits. It was very rich and tasty. I don't like things too spicy, just a little kick, I was happy when our server asked if I wanted the buffalo sauce on the side. The brunch menu entrées include either a monster mimosa or beer which I think is a great deal. I also tried their bloody mary which was delicious and it has this spicy beef jerky. I ordered a bloody mary spicy, it wasnt very spicy and pretty bland :( I also got the carne asada tacos it stated it comes with a jalapeno slaw that sounded amazing, the plate came out and it was cubed steak mixed with the slaw so it was warm and not crunchy. We go to OHSO PV and had a decent experience at the Gilbert location when they opened. However, today was terrible. First off, only go to the patio if you're ok eating soggy food out of to go containers. (And helping yourself to napkins, condiments, etc.) They should greet guests and explain this. We walked in... sat at a table...waited.... Moved..... decided to go to the patio (big mistake) and eat there. I asked the bar tender if we had to use to app for to go food or if he could take my order. He said he could. I paid up front and tipped 20%. He hands me a buzzer. When it's ready, I went back to the bar and learned the hard way how it's served. When I explained to someone inside I was disappointed, he just explained how it works. I said that's fine but someone should tell us that ahead of time. Just excuses and no apologies. We would have sat inside. (Literally 15 feet away at another patio and you get service and plates. I'm glad I came to try this place! I was just told about it yesterday and I was immediately drawn to it, because it's dog friendly and they have a separate patio for you and your furry friend. The staff is all around friendly and nice in all directions. The reason I say all directions is because there was a lot of them, and there was two entrances or maybe just one and we went in the wrong way lol Anyhow they were very helpful to guide us in the right direction of the hostess. They have a cool texting system that lets you know once your table is ready, because they tend to stay pretty busy so this was a very organized way to keep us notified. As soon as we were seated we were greeted by our waitress and her trainee which were both super friendly. They let us know about their brunch special (1cent mimosa ) which was awesome because they knew it was our first time there. They brought us cucumber waters then our mimosas. After they took our orders our food did not take long to come out considering how busy they were. I had the avocado toast which was delicious and the avocado was very creamy and perfect. My gf had the breakfast bowl and she said it was very good and she would have it again. My only regret is not getting the fruity pebbles French toast to go. OHSO Brewery, you are oh-so amazing and I am oh-so grateful that you have found a new home in Downtown Gilbert! For a grand opening event, my expectations were set a little lower since generally, 1) you don't know what to expect and how to staff accordingly, 2) the staff isn't generally very experienced and 3) there is usually a little disorganization that comes with a newer locations. Wrong! From the moment my friends and I arrived to the moment we left, as busy as it was, we were always checked on frequently, service was friendly and our food and drinks arrived with perfect timing - very impressive! For food, we just ordered four dishes and shared across the table: artichoke dip, brisket mac, steak and fries, and chicken and waffles (yes we went the complete opposite side of healthy). The artichoke dip was served with chips and flatbread and it was good but pretty sweet. They weren't joking on the sweet bacon relish. The brisket mac had to have been the table favorite and every flavor went so well together - so delicious! My stomach growls just thinking about it. Overall, we enjoyed it all and we can't wait to go back and visit. Now to the location - it's amazing! The whole front room is dedicated to a bar, but wait, there's more... There is another bar out in the back area and seating all the way around! The outside patio is awesome as well with many outdoor games. Overall, my group and I were very impressed. This has to be one of my favorite breweries because it has everything you want: awesome vibe, comfort, great food & beer, friendly staff and DOG FRIENDLY!
