The outside patio is cool and we had lots of fun , we were there Monday night watching the NCAA finals . The tons of money this place bring in and they feel that they need to cheat you on the beer they sell . The outside bar sells 16 and 24 oz beers , I believe the 16 oz is about 7.50 and 24 oz is about 10.00 depending on what kind of beer. I was buying 24 oz beers all night until someone poured a 24 oz into a 16 oz cup , and surprisingly it was almost the exact same quantity , only a couple ounces left over . My math tells me there should be 8 ounces left over . OHSO you should be ashamed that you would do this to loyal customers . And Kenze R your the business manager? Why don't you ever respond to reviews that are 2 stars or less ? You respond to all the other reviews, what , can't deal with criticism? read more

We met the owner at Fry's during a tap takeover and got a great vibe from him about this place. We were genuinely excited to try it out, and today was our day! We didn't bring our dog because we wanted to "feel the place out" to see what it was like. The design and decor is nice and has the right feeling for a brewpub. We were seated by the kitchen which was cool to watch. At first. There were employees everywhere. There was also an area where silverware was being left to be rolled nearby. We didn't really notice it at first. I think it was the third batch they were rolling when it finally became annoying. There were 7 people rolling silverware literally three feet from our table. The constant clanking and chattering made it difficult to enjoy our dinner. Not to mention, with all those people standing there, it reduced the aisle to one person wide. There was constant traffic right behind our chairs with occasional bumps from passersby. This lasted our entire time there. To rewind a bit, we were not initially greeted by anyone for 5 minutes after we were sat. We just sat, looking around, wondering if someone was going to notice. We were going to give it two more minutes before we stood up and walked out. Luckily, our waiter noticed us with a minute to spare! He got us a sample and put our order in for drinks, then proceeded to let us know his shift was over at 4:00pm (it was 3:54) and he would be having a waitress replace him. Fine, no problem. Well, that was the end of his responsibility apparently. So we sat waiting again while the shifts changed for 10 minutes with a beer order hanging in oblivion. A very nice woman (in a Hawaiian type shirt) brought our beer out 5 minutes later. She was the highlight of this visit for us! She actually made small talk! Novel! Our new waitress then showed up to take our food order. Absolutely no personality. Strictly the facts. We rattled off our order and prepared ourselves for another wait... The food came out in reasonable time and was hot and fresh. Two of us got the brewers grilled cheese and another got shrimp tacos. The grilled cheese was tasty, although the roasted pork was actually slices of fatty ham. I understand that ham is pork, but there is a sure difference between roasted pork and baked ham. For the price of that sandwich, should have been roast pork. The shrimp was flavorless and unseasoned. For the price of those tacos, that should have been a no-brainer. Overall, nothing stood out to us as a reason to return anytime soon. The beer was just average, the food, although executed well, was overpriced for what you get. The service, mediocre at best. I'm not really sure how I feel about OHSO at the moment. It was good, but nothing about it was super memorable in the way I was hoping it to be. Our service was OK at best. We waited 20 minutes for our server to return after giving us menus and it wasn't incredibly busy. We had to ask if we could get drinks instead of the other way around, and I don't think they give refills here? There was a disconnect from the host station in the front to the one in the back and they wanted us to put our name on the list again (after getting the "your table is ready" text). We had just waited 20 minutes, so we weren't about to wait another 20. The food was good. And for the price, well, it should be. But the service? Iffy at best. read more

Probably one of my favorite places. I've done brunch, dinner, and drinks here. What makes it even better is I can bring my pup! For brunch I've ordered avocado toast and loved it. For dinner I've had the French onion patty melt, it literally Melts in your mouth. I'm not a beer drinker, bu I know my friends love it. The cocktail menu I great, I recommend the summertime or the mule. I plan to try more food menu and more drink menu items! read more

Due to Covid, my husband and I are not comfortable eating indoors and since it's the summertime in the desert, the patio is less than desirable so we got take out! I was nervous my chicken and waffles wouldn't be as good since they would have to sit for a bit in the car ride home, but my dinner was delicious! The chicken was still crispy and my waffles weren't soggy either. My husband got the brisket fries and they were a little soggy, but that could not be helped as they had to sit about 15 minutes for the drive home and it's not their fault! My first time trying OHSO for brunch, and it was a solid experience. We were seated outside in the patio, which is dog friendly. My friends brought their dog, and the waitress brought water out for her. There's even a little grassy area for the dogs to play. For Saturday/Sunday brunch they have a special where you get a drink with your entree (beer, mimosa, or Bloody Mary). I got the breakfast wrap, which came with fruit and the wrap was actually really good. It had eggs, bacon, guac, salsa and potatoes. It was very filling, without being overly stuffing. My friends got the breakfast burrito that came a cremates on top. The portion size was pretty big, but it was also really good. We also got the chicken and waffles for the table, which was decent. The bacon was crispy, the chicken was a large portion that complimented the waffles well. Just a little hard to eat. We also tried to fruity pebble French toast which was good, but only for a bite. I really wanted this to be a great experience, however, sadly it was the opposite. My family and I were looking for a cool new place in Downtown Gilbert to grab lunch before the celebrating the 4th of July. When we entered, we were greeted by a very tired, dry hostess and quickly seated. Our waiter came over shortly after with drinks and proceeded to take our orders . We had questions about the menu, however, he was not knowledgeable about much and also pretty dry, personality wise as well. Once we received our drinks and food, we never received a refill. Our waiter never even looked at our drinks to see if he needed to come back to refill. We asked for sauce (as there were no condiments on the table or received) and we did not receive it until 10 minutes later after needing to re-ask. To sum it up: Okay Food Okay Decor Lackluster Service We will not be returning and I do not recommend this location or establishment. read more

Checked out the Gilbert location three Saturdays ago. Holy cow, driving in downtown Gilbert is like driving near ASU when school is in session (and there's no pandemic). It's chaos. People everywhere, traffic is a b*tch. Luckily there was a large, clean, free parking garage immediately west of OSHO. There's also an empty lot a bit north & on the west side of Gilbert Rd, w/in walking distance. We put our name on the waiting list, expecting to wait 20 minutes but the hostess shoved us in the back so we were seated immediately. The place is huge; there's a backyard patio, dog friendly if you're into that. The metals seats were uncomfortable but the service was good & our waitress was bubbly, polite, and attentive. We ordered a couple cocktails & the Brewer's Board appetizer platter. We added the honey thyme goat cheese and it was heavenly. The entire board was good, but damn, the cheese. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Someone needs to sell that at the Gilbert Farmer's Market! The platter was large and could have been a one-person meal in and of itself. We both agreed the platter was better than the brat burger & pilgrim sandwich we ordered. My sis said there wasn't enough flavor on the burger, that there wasn't enough brat. I got the Pilgrim w/o the sprouts because I think they're gross, but after a few bites, I totally should have asked for some sliced avocado as the sandwich was missing something & avos would have been a nice addition. Plus it was one of those sandwiches where the meat is piled high in the middle & the edges are empty. If it wasn't for the traffic (cars & people) and the uncomfortable seats, I probably would have given a 4-star rating. read more

Went here for Brunch with some friends on a Sunday morning. Overall a very good experience, minus a poor choice of seating (which I will get to). The place is dog friendly. They have a patch of "grass" and seating for people to have their dogs with them. They only ask that your dog be well behaved, which is fair. They also have dog treats at the entrance to the restaurant. The food was delicious and perfectly portioned. I got the biscuits and gravy and was delighted throughout the entirety of the meal. It had a minor minor spiciness to it, but not at all uncomfortable. Probably some of the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had honestly... The price is on point. ~$10-13 for an entree and a drink (draft beer or mimosa) is a great deal and paired nicely. Being in AZ, it should be a given that all outdoor seating either provide shade or misters (or both!) to keep customers comfortable for their dining experience. Well, the place that we were sat at outside had an umbrella for only a part of our table. I unfortunately had to sit in direct AZ sunlight for the entirety of the 1.5 hour brunch (yes, I got a sunburn as a result). This was the only real downside of my experience (I know, I could have asked to be reseated, but I did not want to bother the hosts). Hannah was the worst server I have ever had. So rude. We spend around $400-$500 a month here depending on the weather. She rolled her eyes when I asked for more water and a chilled mimosa. I didn't expect to have the chilled mimosa right away since your team were very busy but that's why I ordered a chilled Mimosa. I received another warm mimosa. I'm never a "Karen" but really..Not sure how management doesn't plan for weekend brunches. I do work in the service industry as well. Hannah should stick to low volume days. When our waitress came to take our order, we asked for a beer list and she grabbed it from the guests on the table next to us. Wouldn't you think beer lists would be important at this type of venue? Guess we must have been there on an off night, as there were only two OHSO beers even available on tap - DISAPPOINTING! We were forced to order another beer since we didn't care for the styles they did have on hand. Also bummed that they only offer a "happy hour" on pitchers of beer instead of pints. We sat in the back patio area and as the sun set, they turned all the misters off and it quickly warmed up - so much so we decided to leave instead of having another beer. The owner of OHSO wrote me a very harsh email contradicting the event that I described. The server told him that I was mistaken in what I saw, but I swear that she did not tell me that at the time. The owner accused me of not believing her and reporting sexual harassment anyway, but this is not the case. I would certainly have believed her if she had told me that I was wrong, but she didn't. This is precisely why I reported it to the manager. The owner of OHSO also claimed that the manager then bought us dessert, which is not true at all, and that wasn't my goal. Here is a portion of the owner's email to me: "Please don't make accusations when in fact you are wrong, as your server told you, it simply didn't happen. Please don't defame our male servers, company or reputation when in fact you don't know what you saw and when told it didn't happen you failed to listen to the facts from the server. I have a lot more to say, but I will leave it at thank you for coming. If you care to make false accusations and harass our male server, our managers and company please don't come back. #metoo is a positive movement please don't besmirch it with slanders accusations." I asked the owner if he would call me to discuss this incident further since his version of what took place was substantially different from mine and he wasn't actually there to witness it, but he refused. The space is incredible. If your goal is to go hang out in a comfortable setting, this place is a great choice. The dog friendly patio is a big draw, and this location probably has the nicest outdoor space of all the OHSO locations. The food, however, was disappointing. We spent $100 with tip for 3 adults and one child with an appetizer, one beer per person, and meals. Chips and Guacamole at other OHSO locations have usually been on point. All 3 adults at the table agreed the chips were legitimately stale. My brisket sandwich was supposed to have a green chile aspect to it. What I tasted was the lightest color bun with bland meat. Both of the other meals were bland. I left feeling like I had parted with a lot of money for an experience that wasn't very good. A better BBQ sandwich would have been available a few doors down, and a more unique beer selection with an equally cool patio just a few miles away. Gilbert is becoming saturated with restaurants. The OHSO I'm accustomed to in Arcadia would be a welcome addition, but it seems the chef here may be playing it too safe on the food, which at the end of the day is the main reason I parted with $100 to have lunch there. Amongst the other choices nearby I would be hard pressed to return unless it was to hang out outside and drink. Not a great midweek lunch spot. read more

I do not think this brewery is 360 degrees great. The only whiskey that tasted great was the "DICKS." The "Notary" was, eh... nothing exciting. We've tried their cocktails and all of it tastes horrible. The punch was extremely sour. if you like sour(y) drink, this may be awesome. Their mule was not refreshing at all. The reason why you'd drink a mule is that you want something ginger(y), lime, and vodka drink. The drink they served me was awfully just vodka. Maybe if i ordered vodka, it would have been a 5 star. The only drink that saved the day was "Framboise." It is not brewed by OHSO. Let's not forget the food. We had hummus and crab wontons. Both foods were stale. Not sure how long it was waiting for the server to put it in our table, but it was horribly hard to chew. I felt like my jaw was exhausted from chewing after 1 wonton. After a toasty morning at the dog park, my friends and our two pups stopped by OHSO for beers and Sunday brunch. For starters, we've been going to the OHSO in Arcadia for years and absolutely love it there. So naturally I was super excited when this location opened up much closer to home. The restaurant itself is huge and gorgeous, with ample patio space and free treats for all our furry kids. And it was definitely a toasty day, but they had enough shade and fans going that it was really nice to be outside. We got there around noon on a Sunday and it was about an hour wait for our party of four, which seems pretty average for Sunday brunch. The hostesses were so sweet and filled up bowls of cold water for our pups, and even wrote their names on the bowls. They have a little separate patio area with adirondacks and ping pong where we chilled while waiting for our table to be ready. My friend Jake went up to the bar to snag some drinks while we were waiting, and was given the cold shoulder a few times by the bartender before he finally flagged her down. You can definitely tell this is a new restaurant and they're still working out the kinks, though everyone (other than the aforementioned bartender) was very nice. Our server Dani was super friendly and knowledgeable, and made some awesome recommendations. She brought us little tasters of new brews that she thought we'd be interested in, loved on our puppies, and checked on us regularly - she is such a gem! There was a lady at a neighboring table that was super demanding and not so friendly (maybe she was just hangry, who knows?) and she handled it like a true pro. They were out of the OHSO Hoppy at our visit, but we subbed in a grapefruit IPA that definitely hit the spot! I had my staple AZ Burger and sweet potato fries, and it was just as perfect as the one at OHSO proper. I don't know where they get their burger buns, but I'd be permanently in a carb coma if I had those laying around. And speaking of carb coma, I'd definitely recommend getting an order of the donut holes for the table. Just little nitpicky things since the restaurant is new - - The metal tables with the swivel trays on the back patio weren't completely finished. My friend TJ accidentally cut himself when he reached under to pet the pup. Nothing big, but an easy fix. Same goes for the bare nails attaching the wooden planks to the back of the patio benches. - They kept wheeling a large black trash / bus tub through the patio area. Maybe big trays would be better? - There were a ton of people smoking just outside the patio entrance, right by the ping pong tables. I'm pretty sure there's a law requiring people to be a reasonable distance from an entrance. I'll probably still make the trek to OHSO Arcadia and give them a few months to work out the kinks. But still, a great addition to DT Gilbert! read more

Came for lunch on Friday, 3/3. Your server Seige (Sage) was the best (well another one too but that to follow). Seige knowledge of beer, its process, and how and what to pair your brew with was spot on. There was absolutely no doubt he loved what he is doing and shares it expertly. Our follow up server was Amanda. Her willingness to please customers just shined through and her brightness was certainly contagious. We were trying to find a place to accommodate our party of 6 for dinner. We probably made a mistake of trying to find a place on a Saturday night, and without reservations. Everywhere around us was close to an hour wait. At OHSO... the greeter, not so friendly. The waiting area, not so accommodating - your back is literally against the main intersection traffic at Gilbert Road. We went here towards the peak end of summer, and it was warm to wait outside, not to mention they never offered us water or anything while we waited. We had to get water from the bar, but the bartender was at least nice. The place in general is not family friendly. If you need a high chair, expect a longer wait, as most of the main seating/tables are around the bar, or along the sides that are elevated... unless you want to just see the tops of your kids heads. One table towards the front makes you crammed and uncomfortable because your backed up against the unfriendly greeter, and other patrons waiting to be seated. The food was at least good, but Id rather go to OHSO in Arcadia... I'll MAYBE give this place one more try... read more

Buns were doughy! When we got to the restaurant our immediate thoughts were, this is not a family place. First thing we smelt was beer and it was pretty loud inside. We understand it's a brewery but the alcohol smell was strong. When we ordered my wife and I got hamburgers tonight. I got the bbq burger and my wife got the cheese burger. The burgers looked nice but once you pick up the burger the buns were VERY soft and almost doughy. We weren't too happy about with it. Also the serving size of fries was tiny. This was our first time at an OHSO and we had a positive experience. We waiting about 20 minutes for a table inside because it was 109 outside. We didn't check out the patio until we left, which was a bummer because it was awesome! It was pretty happening inside but the patio was jumpin'! Anyhow, we both had burgers which were very good.
