    The loves of my life!

Yep, we're back to Ojeda's. This time to celebrate our 36th anniversary. After being seated, Desiree, our server introduced herself to us. Since we've been regulars we didn't even have to look at the menu. My wife ordered a #3, puffed taco and I ordered a #10, a puffed taco and a chili relLeno, cheese. While we waited on our entrees, we enjoyed our margaritas and chips and salsa. Ojeda's has the best hot sauce in the metroplex, at least that's our opinion. We've been dining at Ojeda's for over 4 decades. Our entrees were just a they've been forever at Ojeda's, DELICIOUS! As we were finishing our celebratory meal, we were counting the blessings we'd had during our 36 years of marriage. Thank you Ojeda's for another wonderful visit. You know we'll be back to visit shortly.

This place is a standard Tex-Mex restaurant that has a ton of different margarita flavors and options and a ton of different food options. It's family, friendly and more than likely. There's something on the menu for everyone, but remember it's Tex mix. I really like all the different varieties of drinks & food to choose. Good vibe & pretty loud but casual atmosphere.

    Happy hour Strawberry Margarita

We eat out a lot and are always trying new places but Ojeda's has been serving great flavorful food for years /although I love the beef enchiladas w queso and the charro beans in a bowl ( let the church say Amen!I remembered that they served a massive grilled Tilapia with vegetables and awesome sauce for my fish ! Oh it is so delicious and seasoned and cooked to perfection. Of course we started with a cup of queso and warm chips and salsa always tide me over until my entree arrived ! It was happy hour ( we never make it to happy hour) so I had to order frozen strawberry margarita ( small one ) ! It also served as my frozen dessert.. never been a fan of the flan but my dinner companion LOVES their flan( something about the correct consistency ) because if it's bad he would definitely let someone know but it was fantastic as always and I have leftovers for a midnight snack ! I don't think I have ever had to wait for a table ( it's because the seating area ( 4 or 5 rooms are huge !

Great place for some Tex mex. I've never been disappointed with anything I've had from here. Normally don't get fajitas but was craving them this time. They were really good and cooked well. Had a few there and then some leftovers that I made a quesadilla with for lunch another day.

Daily special Monday! Beef Puffed Taco, cheese enchilada with rice & beans = $9.50

Cute inside - love the lights in the bar! My friend and I both had the Monday $9.50 daily special that came with a puff beef taco, a cheese enchilada, beans and rice. Yum! Loved the cheese enchilada the most. One star off for the beans - really stiff! They make their own chips and salsa in-house and you can tell - delish! Excellent service - definitely a family affair...you can tell how much everyone who works here truly cares.

Large house margarita with chips and salsa

This place has plenty of reviews, and after visiting, I can see why. Ojeda's is a spacious Tex-Mex spot with fun decor. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with genuinely friendly service. Heads up: there are two entrances. I accidentally walked into the takeout/to-go counter at first instead of the sit-down entrance, but staff were quick to point me in the right direction. I read beforehand that the margaritas can be strong, and that definitely checked out. The large (16 oz) house margarita packed a punch, so keep that in mind if you're driving or ordering more than one. Chips and salsa came out quickly, and the salsa leans on the hotter side, but it's still very manageable, even for someone like me, as long as you pace yourself before the food arrives. I ordered the brisket tacos, which were excellent and came with rice, beans, and fresh slices of tomato and avocado. Portions were generous, and I definitely left full and happy. Overall, this is a solid Tex-Mex option I'd absolutely return to and keep in my regular rotation when I'm nearby.

    The location I'm referring too

I a, posting this here for awareness: I've been coming to this spot since Cinco de Mayo, and I want to start by saying the service has genuinely been great every time, that's not in question. My issue is with a recent visit. I came in for just a drink, like I always do, and this time was told I had to purchase food to be served, due to TABC regulations. I understand and respect TABC rules; they exist for a reason and should absolutely be followed. My problem is that this has never been enforced on any of my previous visits. Every other time, staff took my drink order, I paid, and that was that. The one time this came up was the one time the owner was present. If TABC compliance is the standard, it should be applied consistently by every staff member, every time; not only when ownership happens to be in the building. I'd encourage the business to review their camera footage, since it will show multiple visits where I was served a drink with no food purchase. I also have the receipts to back this up. To be clear, I wouldn't have minded ordering food if I'd been hungry ; I just wasn't, and I've never had an issue getting served a drink alone before. Bottom line: the staff and service have been excellent, and I'd rather deal with them than the owner, who came across as unnecessarily strict in the moment. If that's the standard, it needs to be consistent across the whole team; inconsistent enforcement is what actually creates liability. Updated response to owner from google: I've been a regular here since Cinco de Mayo, and the service has genuinely been great every visit, that's not what this review is about. This review is about consistency and compliance. On my most recent visit, I was told I had to purchase food with my drink because of TABC regulations. I don't dispute that this is a real requirement; I understand and respect it. What I'm calling out is that it has NOT been enforced on any of my prior visits. Every other time, staff took my drink order, I served, paid, and left; no food required, no mention of the rule at all. This isn't a matter of me misunderstanding the situation. I know exactly what was and wasn't required on each visit because I lived it, and I have the receipts to prove it. The only time this rule was enforced was the one time the owner happened to be on site. That tells me this isn't being applied consistently by the staff; it's either not being trained properly, or it's being selectively enforced. If this is genuinely a state law, it needs to be followed every time, by every employee, regardless of who's watching. I told the manager on duty (who identified herself as the owner) to pull the camera footage; it will confirm exactly what I'm describing. I'm posting this for awareness. If this rule hasn't been enforced with me, it likely hasn't been enforced with other customers either, and that's a liability issue for the business, not just a customer service one. The staff have been great to me personally; this is specifically about the lack of consistent training/enforcement around a legal requirement. Because now it's a legal requirement but illegal actions have been done. Also if we are missing each other point I would love for the real owner to reach out to me directly, if the two ladies onsite were just a manager and regular employee, because your not trying to make seem as though I don't under the law!

While visiting Ojeda's Mexican Restaurant for a wedding weekend, we made a stop since it's one of my husband's favorite Mexican spots in Dallas. Overall, it was just okay for me. The highlight was definitely the margarita. It was really good and probably the best part of the meal. I ordered the sour cream enchiladas with rice and beans. They were decent, but not the best I've had, so I wasn't blown away. The chips were fresh and tasty, and I preferred the hot salsa over the mild. Service was good and attentive throughout our visit, which I appreciated. On the way out, we purchased some peanut brittle, which was a nice touch. It was good, just a bit on the sweeter side. Prices felt fair for what you get. Overall, nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either--just an okay experience.

I came here for dinner last night with my dad. He's been coming here for 20 years and our server recognized him and was very sweet. I wasnt a big fan of the chips and salsa- the chips didn't seem fresh and the salsa was too spicy and just not great. Our margaritas were great subs we shared some steak fajitas. The fajita stuff was cooked really well and was super tasty. If you want Tex Mex, definitely recommend this gem.

Location Medical district- just a couple of blocks off medical district and maple streets Atmosphere Festive Mexican, casual- great for groups Seating Bar, 2 dining areas-tables, booths-great for groups Service Outstanding! Attentive and immediate. Menu Complimentary salsa and chips-chips are delish-light and not heavily salted. Specials per day for lunch. We had the Monday special-puff taco with enchilada, beans/rice-excellent! I like a forward corn flavor with enchilada tortilla and it did not disappoint. Our group had the flautas-4 large and mini flautas-6 shorter. Everyone was happy and well satisfied. Summary Our go to restaurant for work lunches-always perfect!

Our event coordinator had already been in contact with each hotel's sales team regarding room blocks, but my fiancé and I wanted to personally see the properties before recommending them to 30-40 hotel room blocks. Although we arrived after sales office hours, Liz at the front desk was exceptionally kind. She walked us through the restaurants commonly used for private events, explained the renovation timeline, and invited us to take our time exploring before returning to the front desk to view a standard guest room. Unfortunately, our experience changed when another employee, who later identified himself as Clayton, a manager, stepped in. It appeared he had been listening to our conversation but had not introduced himself. He abruptly informed us that we would not be able to view a room. We explained that our event coordinator was already working with the sales manager regarding room blocks and pricing, and that we were simply trying to ensure we felt confident recommending the hotel to our family and friends. Despite understanding the situation, he remained unwilling to accommodate the request. His only suggestion was that we purchase a room if we wanted to see one. For us, this interaction spoke volumes. Hospitality isn't just about beautiful rooms--it's about making potential guests feel welcomed and valued. If this was the experience we received as prospective clients considering multiple wedding events and dozens of room nights, it gave us pause about what our guests might experience. As a result, we will likely to move our room block, welcome dinner, Saturday event, and Sunday brunch where we're met with warmth, flexibility, and genuine hospitality from the moment we arrive. The Joule is undeniably a beautiful property, but customer service plays a major role in our decision-making. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling that our business was neither appreciated nor wanted.
