This is an awesome mom and pop Korean restaurant that serves delicious Korean dishes. We love to come here during cold weather especially when it's raining. Nothing like Korean tofu soup on cold day/night. Get their scallion PANCAKES and GALBI with your meal and you'll be happy. Last time we were here I tried the #6 SOYBEAN tofu soup , which has mushroom, clam, and beef. I was sharing with my mother who can't handle spicy food, so we got the white version... And it just wasn't the same. Ended up asking them if there's any way to make it mild spicy instead and they were nice enough to change it out for us. This time, I tried the #3 ASSORTER tofu soup, which has beef, shrimp, and clam. Got it mild and it was perfect. I prefer the regular tofu soup to the soybean one actually. I wonder if I can ask for the #3 without the shrimp because I wasn't a fan. My husband always gets the same thing -- the #8 TRIPE tofu soup, which actually has small INTESTINEs in them and no tripes. He loves the stuff. I keep trying, but I just don't like it. Will be sticking to the seafood variety. I'm trying to save money right now, and it isn't the cheapest option, but it's so worth. It's basically 1 1/2 or even 2 meals for the cost. I wouldn't say the dishes exactly balance each other out because they're both pretty heavy dishes, but they're both soo good separate. Tried this restaurant out on a Saturday night for dinner and loved it! It was not busy at all, and we were one of the only diners there at that time. I ordered the seafood soft tofu stew, which was served piping hot and was super flavorful! There was a pretty good variety of banchan as well. I read another review saying that OK Tofu House doesn't compare to other restaurants of the same cuisine, and I have to agree. Came back again after a while, me and another friend whom never had Korean food in her life decided to come here since i recommended to her and she agrees. We walked from school and luckily this place was near my house lol, we came in and we were greeted well and nicely by a Korean name Alex. He took care of us and he look awesome. I came here with my family after a morning of nearby fruit picking. We were all hungry after a little bit of exercise. Initially, I felt like the food and service was pretty good. I ordered a few dishes and was personally greeted by the owner. Afterwards, we got a few of the traditional korean side dishes. Our meal consisted of the soft tofu soup, bbq kalbi and a rice dish. All of the plates were hot, timely prepared, and quite flavorful. In terms of the food, I did not have any complaints. Our waiter was also friendly and attentive, as he would refill our water or get more side dishes when requested. My main issue is that as a parent, I did not feel welcome here at all. While waiting for the food, I had to entertain my toddler. He was not content to just sit at the table for time it takes to cook a full meal. So we walked around the restaurant and toured the seating area. During this time, the owner gave me and my son a disapproving look. We did not touch anything and he did not say anything, so we decided to let the issue slide. Later, I had to change my infant's diaper. I tried to change it in the restroom. However, there is no place to change and my baby won't fit in the sink. I was not comfortable laying her on the floor of the bathroom to change her. So I had to change her at one of the booths. This time, the owner had one of his waiters come up to me and say I couldn't do that. I had placed a changing mat between the booth and my baby so there's no chance of leaving a stain. So my guess is that the owner does not want people who have children to come to his restaurant. There is a chance I could be wrong, but the owner's actions were pretty clear. So for those with a family, avoid this place as the owner does not seem to appreciate your business. For single people or maybe couples, this place is a better fit for you. I would not come here again, which is a shame because I did feel our server and the food was good. read more

Our first time to dine here today. The place is quiet and there's enough parking to choose from. K-pop groups on tv are shown the whole time we are there. The music is not too loud. We ordered korean pancakes, japchae, dumpling/tofu soup and spicy chicken. The wait is not long since there are only 5-6 tables that are occupied. The ahjumma who took the order is very nice and gave us 6 side dishes that goes with our order and gave me more side dishes when she asked me if I like the side dishes - my favorite kimchi and relish ( made of radish ). Love this place as it offers combos for tofu soup and main dishes. Growing up in LA I spoiled as we had so many different food options. I'd dedescribe this place as a "hole in the wall, gem". If you want to eat out and are craving homey korean dishes, this is the place to go. It really gives that vibe of mom/pop korean homey type food. Sadly I don't see the old Korean man anymore (who I think owns the place), but I hope he is doing well. One of the best Korean tofu places (well, there's only a handful) in the area. I like the dank stuff so my go to is the tripe tofu soup with mackerel. BTW, I'm not sure if it's a translation thing, but the tripe soup is intestines and not like honeycomb tripe. I've never had anything bad from here. The only complaint I can ever say is that the scallion pancakes are sometimes a little bit too oily - but I mean come on, just give it a tap tap with your napkin and you're good to go! Japchae - yum. Gimbap - yum. All their banchan?! YUM. You want galbi and beer? They got you. Yakut flavored soju? Endless supply. Best feeling is when it's cold outside and you get a nice warm bowl of octopus tofu soup and a beer. Life is good. Restaurant gives 90s Korean ma & pa shop vibes - like you don't care about how it looks in the inside because the food is so good. You know? The service depends if they are staffed (obviously). All I'm saying is that sometimes when there is a lot of customers and one server, please be patient and be understanding. Again, the food is great so it's worth the wait (if there is one). This is my go-to local place to get authentic korean food. Set prices are good for the amount of food you get. You get sides before your meal. I recommend the combo meals because you get to taste more than just soup. For example, my partner got the stone pot bibimbap with original tofu soup. The soup with the combo does come in a smaller bowl, because it's more of an addition to the meal. If you get just soup, it'll come in a bigger bowl for your meal. This time I got cold noodle with beef bulgogi combo, which I'm glad I got the combo instead of just cold noodle. I feel like I needed the beef bulgogi to cut through the sweet tasting noodles, and there was a lot of noodles too, it was so filling. I recommend going here knowing that it is a family run business. At most they'll have three servers, the old man who i think is the owner of the place, the best oldest guy who I think is the son of the grandpa, and then the hired worker guy. So, don't think your food will come right away or they'll notice that you need something. If you do need something, dont be afraid to raise your hand and speak up or call them over. They are going as fast as they can, so be patient and enjoy the company while you wait for your delicious korean meal. read more

I'm torn about what to write for this spot. I was excited about this tofu spot but the flavor of the tofu soup was so different, it was quite jarring. The cold noodles was so stuck together, I had to ask for soup just to be able to eat the noodles. Even then, the consistency of the noodle was quite different from what I was expecting. The galbi was the best. However pricey it was, it was still great tasting. When I walked in, the place was empty and it felt strange to me being there during heavy lunch hours in an empty Korean food spot. The man who took our order was hard of hearing and it was difficult to communicate with him. I wanted to ask for his opinion on some food items or what was in the soup just to make sure I don't eat something I can't but he didn't hear me half of the time and I would ask him questions and just walked away. while eating, two other people came in and ordered as well. i'd have to say that their prices are a bit high for the service and the food that they're offering. To determine good restaurant, it's comprised of 2 main aspects: Service & Food This place only have 1 good thing which is food. Not too many competitor in the area, so they still survive up to this day! (Sad but it is true) The elder guy (I assume is the owner) was so rude, no greeting when we came, the only greeting only 'How Many' (refer to number of persons) We were seated to the table that is still dirty/not being well cleaned (especially during COVID, this is truly crucial) We ordered 1 menu only (Tofu Soup Combo) and wanted to add later if we are still hungry but the elder guy said, 'If you want to order, order all now! It will take too long later to give you extra food'. Duuuuh, we are customers and this is not the way you treated your customers regardless! So we ended up order another meal which is Bimbimbap and regret after because for us, they were too much. So after we ordered, it took so long for foods to come out. Tofu soup bowl was not clean! Restaurant was busy that time, the elder guy takes the order and will give you the bill, the elder lady cook but sometimes comes out to clean the table, there was 1 young guy who was the server. 3 of them did not have good job distribution. Sooo messy! Added, they charged you for take away box ($0.25), no big deal but this is first time in my life I found this kind of thing. And I believe due to overwhelming situation in terms of staff, they even rejected the customers before their closing time. Such a shame!!
