Been a regular here for some time now. Sushi is almost always excellent (with a couple of occasions where certain rolls were missing certain ingredients which takes away from the overall flavor of them). That is my only complaint about the sushi, I order it 95% of the time I go here, and I go here often enough to be called a regular. It's good. If you're going to try sushi here I have 4 words for you : Spicy Crunchy Scallops Roll. Thank me later :) They have been hiring like crazy it seems to keep up with the growing demand and traffic. I have unfortunately had a couple of episodes of poor service during very busy rush times, but in general the service is excellent. I am always recognized, and occasionally given free appetizers as well as plum cordials after our meal. The Hibachi side is entertaining and delicious, we just rarely eat there because of the cost. It's right on par with other Hibachi places pricing (high teens - low 20's per plate), but when they have stuff like a lunch special with 3 rolls for $11 with a soup, it's hard to pass that kind of deal up. Lunch special is a great deal, they have a full discounted lunch-time sushi menu as well as 2 and 3 roll with soup specials available. I am a fan of Oki and will continue to return :) read more

Ok, Oki bistro, our love affair is over. It was always fairly even.. I mean, I generally underappreciated you by waiting for a Groupon to indulge. And yes in general there's so much food..I admit you kept me satisfied. We even invited our friends and family into the mix. My son's high school graduation 2 years ago was enough of a hit that we returned last night with a hungry party of 21 for our daughter's graduation. Here's where it all went wrong. It was a Friday night so why were you so short staffed? We had a reservation for 8pm and our order was not taken til after 9. No apologies..barely acknowledgement of our presence . We had the most expensive per person package but it was pulling teeth to get drinks. I had to ask for a glass of wine 3 times. My sister and husband asked for a glass of red..A long time later the waiter rolled up and deposited 4 Coors lights. We didn't have enough chairs and had to grab them ourselves. We were short plates. My brother asked for a splash of cranberry in his drink and the very surly waitress(we had unpleasant dealings w her in the past) came to me and wordlessly stuck a half glass of cranberry juice at me. I didn't even know what it was. The food was consistent..not amazing but good and plenty of it. The room is fun for a party..during the hour plus that we waited my sister in law brought a stereo in and we played music. At this point there was no other party present and my husband went to speak to a manager. Suddenly we had appetizers! Drinks! Service! They began battling our music with some of their own. Ironically we heard One Republic's Too late to apologize" 3 times. Snarky or coincidental?. We left sated, and so happy for the occasion that the huge bill almost didn't sting. Snarky for sure. I had one of the worst customer service experiences here. Waited a half hour for my food, and they forgot half of my order. When I returned for my missing food, the gaggle of people around the entrance included several other customers with incorrect orders. The service was so slow that many people left. This is a place we've been going to for years, though we had not visited in a while since we moved. Just visited there today. After getting the wrong soup brought out to me, I politely asked if our waiter could give me the soup I ordered. He said very loudly and confrontationally "that is not what you ordered" and started to argue with us over literally a $2 soup. After about 10 minutes of him slamming a few dishes around that he was bussing, he asked what we wanted to order. We politely said we'd just take the check and he said "Good!" Pretty tasty, we must admit, but it still did not make up for the absolutely horrible waiter that served us. Basic stuff like asking what we wanted to drink? Never happened. I'd like to start by thanking Winnie for always providing my guests and me with a comfortable feeling when we show up. I often feel like family when walking in. I have been coming to OKI for many years and generally order the same meal, the sushi and sashimi combo. (Not always of course). That said, tonight I decided to venture out in order some different things off the menu and of course was equally as impressed. I never have a problem taking friends or family here as I know I will be treated well and I know the food will be outstanding. The Hibachi is always a great experience. There are times where the restaurant is extremely busy, yet I am always treated well and served quickly. If you are in the Vernon area please stop by. Winnie is usually there working all stations. The place is clean. The food is good. I'm sure I will return. This is one of those places that is a "go-to to"for me. read more

You really cannot go wrong by coming here. Over the last 2 years, it has been our go to sushi place, and possibly our go to restaurant in Vernon. The service is incredibly friendly, every server is courteous, even if they aren't your server they will assist and get whatever you need. The vegetarian sushi selection is wide and delicious. The cocktail menu isn't creative, but the drinks are strong. I don't think we've gotten any roll that we haven't liked. We haven't experimented with the menu much, but I must add a special mention of their veg Pad Thai- I like it more than the Thai restaurant's Pad Thai. :) read more

I'm surprised by the reviews, and felt like I needed to create a Yelp account to leave my own review. I've been to Oki once a month (at least) for about a year so far. I love coming here, the food here is fantastic. I have yet to try the hibachi but I'm sure it's just as good as the sushi. I've brought many people here and they all feel the same as me. The waiters / waitresses are friendly and go out of their way to give you a positive experience. I've walked out of the restaurant forgetting about my leftovers, and had the waitress run out to give me the boxes. I have also noticed that the staff has put in more effort in providing a great experience, those who have had a negative experience in the past may want to visit again.Typically not busy until around dinner time 6-10PM. We stopped by Oki Asian Bistro on the 6th day it was open and definitely plan on going back! The staff was very friendly from the moment we walked in until we walked out the door. We sat in the dining room and enjoyed the miso and mushroom soups as well as some delicious sushi rolls. A pet peeve I have about sushi places is the rolls being so large there is no polite way to eat them - here the rolls are a manageable size. The price is good and the selection plenty. We finished the night with a complimentary fried ice cream that was covered in bananas & then lightly tempura friend - very yummy! Excellent Experience! So much bang for your buck! The food was very tasty. You got noodles, rice, meat and veggies as well as soup and salad with a hibachi meal. The cocktails had A LOT of alcohol, were very good and were very reasonably priced. The hibachi cook was also very friendly and had some tricks that I have not seen at other hibachi grills. Never interested in Hibachi, but we were invited for our friend's birthday party, so we went. Setting is good for big crowd and party. It was entertaining. Food is ok, not great. We didn't try sushi, but our friends said it's good. When we were there, there was a new staff who was under training and obviously very nervous. The lady who was training him was just mean to him and embarrassed him right in front of us. We felt so bad for him. It was unprofessional and made us feel very uncomfortable..... The sushi was great and the manager even offered a free spring roll appetizer to our and a couple other tables in the restaurant. I was pleased with the prices of the sushi and we enjoyed our gyoza appetizer. However the service definitely left something to be desired, the multiple staff that helped did their jobs just fine, there was just one older woman who wasn't very friendly and seemed to want to rush us (I don't think I was able to finish a single sentence when I spoke to her). WOW! This place was absolutely amazing! I am a big fan of Hibachi and used to love going to Sakura Garden all the time. I saw a Groupon for Oki Hibachi and I thought to myself why not give it a try. I can happily say that I will NEVER go back to Sakura after eating at OKI. We started off with a Scorpion Bowl for two and it was absolutely gigantic for only $12.95 (WOW). It lasted the entire time we were there. We also got two flavored Saki shots on the house! The Hibachi show was also very entertaining and probably one of the better ones I have seen. I ordered a Filet Mignon Hibachi dinner which came with the standard two pieces of shrimp, soup and salad (which were all fresh and perfect as well). The filet Mignon was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. My girlfriend ordered Salmon Hibachi and she said hers was equally delicious. We also got a free side of noodles with our dinner (SG charges extra for that). It doesn't stop there though. The portions were absolutely gigantic and everything was at significantly lower price then SG. I have never left SG with leftovers but I could barely finish half my dinner from OKI. The only "negative experience" was our waitress who was pleasant but nothing over the top. But honestly you go to these places for the quality of the Hibachi show and food, not anything else. Definitely a gem in Manchester, can't wait to go back!!! read more

OKI is my favorite place to get sushi. Their menu has a ton of options and the sushi is fresh and great! Their prices are also very affordable for the portions they give. My wife and I eat here regularly and the waitstaff is attentive and friendly, They regularly have Groupons, Living Social deals, and coupons in the Clipper Magazine making it an incredible deal for awesome sushi. I typically don't write negative reviews unless it's a really bad experience..The only reason I didn't give it 1 star is because I have had pretty good experience in the past and the food is actually pretty good ..I can only talk about my service the last few times and just thought the female server was having a bad day..Nope, it's every time and this past Saturday was hands down the most awkward and probably one of the worst. I came with a group of 4 and we were seated in a booth..That was fine so we'd be tucked away but I guess we got forgotten since we were in this area.. The couple next to us got seated after us and after waiting 15 minutes, still did not get their drink order taken..As they proceeded to leave, the female server cornered them into staying and apologized. To me, that is just awkward..Anyway, our drink orders were taken and our server forgot one of the beers that was ordered..She seemed annoyed when my friend kindly reminded her that he ordered a beer and not the hot tea..Anyways, everyone ordered hibachi dinners and I had the sushi..We probably waited another 45 minutes before we even got our dinner and our server came over with a complimentary app for patiently waiting..That was nice except our food came out 5 minutes later..except for mine..The hibachi dinners came out first and my sushi came out 5 minutes later?? Honestly, the sushi has always come out before the hibachi dinners in our past experience. Anyway, I had ordered a soda and when I asked for a refill, it was definitely watered down and did not taste the same..I didn't even bother returning it because I wasn't quite sure when I would get the new one or if I would just get a "side of attitude" instead.. Overall, I think we will stay away from here until that server gets an attitude check. We will be going to Sakura Garden instead even though it's a little more of a trek.. read more

They staff is extremely generous(random free apps) and fun to be around. Hibachi is always 110%. The drinks could have more ice and the bathroom could use a baby changing table but other than that they are tentative and efficient! I would give this place 10 stars if i could. I don't know why it took me so long to finally write a review, but here i am. My husband and i have been coming here since the first week of their opening. We've brought our friends for dinner, my husband regularly brings his business partners for lunch and we've been coming here for meals with our daughter since she was 4. Here are the reasons why i love this place in no particular order: - Staff. And by staff i mostly mean Winny (sp?), who i think is a manager there. She is the most welcoming person ever! She recognizes and greets us the moment we walk in. She knows our tastes and preferences. She is attentive and patient with our daughter. She helped us find food that our picky than 4 y.o. would eat. She noticed when I started peeling off flaky coating from sweet potato tempura for my daughter and offered to steam it for us next time we are there (which she did, even though steamed sweet potato is not on the menu). She brings us small appetizers on the house, giving us an opportunity to try new things. If you like a personal approach - this is your place. The rest of the stuff is polite and attentive without being too much in our face. The only time when we don't get the extra attention is on Fri night when the place is buzzing, which is understandable. - Sushi/sashimi/rolls are always great. We tried them all and they all are delicious and always fresh. Dragon roll, Shogun roll, Spider Roll are my favs. Tuna dumplings are really good too. - Recently i discovered their Tom Yum soup - OMG!!! I'm addicted! i tried to order it in other Asian fusion-type places - none of them came even close. The tom yum here is a bit on a spicy side, but not too much, with lots of "goodies" in the bowl. The portion is huge and great for sharing. - My husband also admires their sake selection. - The place is tastefully decorated and is very clean. - Oh, importantly, their prices are really good. My girlfriend and I went here just last night and we had a great time. The restaurant is split into a hibachi dining area and a normal dining room. We chose to sit in the normal dining room and were seated immediately. I was pleasantly surprised that most of the noise from the hibachi tables was muffled (though it sounded like everyone in that room was having a good time). We had the sushi dinner for two and everything was delicious. The miso soup was very savory and the salad, while a bit over-dressed, was also very good. I especially enjoyed their spider roll, which had a nice garlicy taste to it. I also tried one of their OKI-tinis, which is a blend of plum wine and vodka. It had just a touch of sweetness to it, which I liked. The only negative I give the place is our waiter was a little awkward. My girlfriend ordered a water and when he returned he gave the water to me. Similarly, when I asked for two green teas, he returned with one and gave it to me. Some servers just make you feel like you're in good hands, but this guy didn't have "it." That being said, we got exactly what we ordered and our bill was correct.
