This was the most terrible experience my family and I have ever had. Our waiter was extremely disrespectful, was sarcastic when I presented my Groupon and was more interested in March Madness than he was with providing good customer service. It took him 15 mins to come take our order and then when I asked for plates he gave us one and there were four of us. My husband had to get up a get plates. He never checked in with us or filled our empty water glasses. He then proceeded to throw our check on the table. Funny though he was very pleasant and happy with the older couples at the next table. I do agree with the other reviews. The food is not the best I have ever had and the service is ok. The reason I give it 4 stars though is for the hibachi packages. This place is best for a big celebration - birthday, graduation, etc. for you and a large group of your friends. You can purchase different levels of packages, which include different things. The package my party decided on consisted of one hibachi meal, which comes with the standard soup, salad, rice, veggies, and choice of meat for each person (I believe there were 17 of us). We also got to choose three types of sushi rolls and three appetizers to be brought out before the hibachi. They bring out enough of each for everyone in your party. Last but not least, it is all you can drink for the two hours you are there for the hibachi meal. The beer and wine selection is pretty basic, but all you can drink! Hot sake is included on the list of options too. The geisha package (one level up) includes all of their cocktails as options for the all you can drink special, and it is not that expensive. For all of this it comes out to be ~$35 a person not including tip. It is a fantastic deal! This is why I give it 4 stars. We had a great time and all the other parties there did too. I would recommend maybe not bringing children later in the night because with all you can drink some of the jokes and language are not quite child friendly. They were making penis balloon hats for the birthday people in our party to wear, so the jokes just kept coming. This place has really gone downhill. Used to be good food, good service. Now it's full of people standing around on their cell phones and no one has a clue what's going on. I placed an order for takeout tonight, got the message it would be ready in 30 minutes. I got to the restaurant to pick it up, was told it wasn't quite ready so I sat down to wait. It is not busy at all so I figured the wait would be quick. 20 minutes later (50 minutes after ordering) my food still isn't ready. I check with the hostesses, who have done nothing this whole time but stand around on their phones, and it turns out that the order was printed and never given to the sushi bar. So over an hour later I finally get my four sushi rolls and this place is not worth the aggravation. They have now lost a customer who had been coming here since they opened. read more

Let start with saying that my family has dined here a few times. Appears that customer service and food quality has declined each. Tonight experience was horrible. We ordered appetizers but it took forever to receive them. The raw tuna was stringy and not of high quality. Sitting at the habachi table we noticed the silicone caulking in the seams of the table had shrunk leaving a nice gap for all the old food that got trapped there. Pretty nasty looking at various stages of decaying rice. I requested no garlic due to an allergic reaction, so the entire table didn't receive garlic. According to my friends and strangers the food has no flavor without the garlic. The bathroom is dark and gloomy although the sink was pretty. Unfortunately, it doesn't drain well, so you will get wet if there are multiple people in a row washing their hands. They offer coupons through various outlets (local savers.com, clipper magazine) but they refuse to accept them. They always have some type of excuse from needing a coupon code that wasn't printed on the coupon or using the language barrier as an excuse. Three strikes and your out! Just ate at this place with my family and was SO impressed! We ate at the restaurant side. The service was great! The waiter was so pleasant. We got 4 dishes and shared everything. The presentation was beautiful of all the food and the taste matched. Everything was delicous! We had the pineapple fried rice. It was served in half a pineapple and had a bunch of large shrimp in it. We also got the snapper. The entire fish is plated beautifully. It is lightly fried and absolutly delish! We also tried the sushi which was very good. We picked three rolls. It was not the BEST sushi I have ever had be still very nice. We also had a chicken dish. They give free Green Tea and our waiter kept coming and refilling our glasses. The price is around the 10-20 dollar range. It is defenitly a great value for the quality of food. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm and are cook didn't come to the table till 8:15pm. The worst part of the whole night was the temperature inside the restaurant. I've been going to okis since I moved up the road about a year ago and I was fairly happy with the experience till I went this weekend.when me and my boyfriend arrived we were seated at the corner of a packed table they took our orders and then asked us if we wanted to stay at this table we would have to wait 30 min to eat. The other option would be to move to the corner of another packed table so when we said we were just going to go elsewhere they reluctantly sent someone to make the meal the waitress had such an attitude . It was so awkward but then it got worse once we were done when the waitress took my leftovers and placed them in a bowl she put I to. The hot burner where they make your food and burned my leftovers into the bowl.She tried to pick it up and just put it in another container when I said something she looked upset .so when I asked to speak to the owner he just acted like nothing was wrong and when I told him I wouldn't be back he just smirked and offered no solution . Let me start by saying that the front desk staff was very unwelcoming. The service was horrible and waiter very unfriendly. They only have two chefs cooking, and so our poor chef had to hurry through our meal. I ordered filet mignon, and when I started eating my food, I noticed a small, light colored coarse animal looking fur in my meat. Not wanting to make a stink, I continued eating my meat only to find 5 more of the same pieces of animal fur sticking out of my meat. At this point, I brought it to our waiter's attention, who brought out a supervisor. They never apologized but asked if I wanted a new meal and I declined. I can't comment on the food as my fiance and I visited the establishment last night, excited to try out a relatively new restaurant in the area. I was beyond craving a good sushi roll or 2 but alas, we left still hungry. Upon entering, I was excited to see how nice the interior looked. The hibachi area was completely empty, the seating area was almost full. A couple ahead of us were seated after waiting 2 minutes for anyone to even come over and address the 4 people waiting at the hostess area. My fiance and I were then told to wait a moment as they cleaned off a table..5 minutes later... we were seated and given menus. The menu looked great, specialty rolls were definitely pricey in my opinion... but how did it taste? I have no clue! After 15 minutes of not even being asked if we wanted something to drink, we got up and left. While walking out the door I simply stated, "It seems as though you don't want to serve us, so we are going to leave" and the response from the clearly inexperienced waitress was "Oh..um, ok." They offer "online ordering" yet then say they never received the order once you arrive to pick it up half an hour later (even after receiving a confirmation email). I thought I would give them a shot as they are closer than my usual restaurant that I order from, however; after reading mixed reviews about the quality of the food it seems this place is just a waste of time. When we expressed our concerns the manager laughed at us. There was no compensation for the terrible experience we had nor an apology. This place should be shut down if you ask me. Spicy snow crab tasted like what you get at the grocery store. Bland. Shumai was cold- sushi came out warmer than the Shumai. Pork dumpling soup just bland. Crispy beef wasn't even completely coated and most likely reheated. Flies all over the place. Definitely not the same place that we used to go to before moving out of town. Server never smiled. This was my second trip here. The first time was really good but the second time was even better. They were crowded the first time and we had to wait a while for our food. The second time was much faster and they gave us free drinks. I'm not sure why they did but I was happy. The food was excellent both times. Horrible! We went here on a Saturday night and it was dead, we were seated and the hostess didn't say a word to us. We sat at the table for over 10 minutes when we decided to go to the host stand and ask what was going on. (Maybe they forgot about us?) My boyfriend got to the host stand and asked the host what was taking so long, the server who was standing up there rudely said "I'll be with you in a minute". So, I was REALLY excited to try OKI after reading the great reviews on Yelp & Groupon. I purchased the Groupon and went on a Thursday night. We got there around 8 and walked into an empty foyer where we were greeted by someone gesturing to us to follow them and they sat us at a dining table, there were 2 other occupied tables and about 5 empty ones, it seemed to be a slow evening for them. We waited 12 minutes for a server to come and take our drink order. After that 5 more to get the waters and then he came back 5 minutes later to get our order. Something must have been going on where we couldn't see because the number of people in the dining room didn't justify this service. We ordered a few items, we went about 6 weeks ago so I cannot specifically recall the items. We were still hoping that the food would hold up to all the wonderful reviews we had read. It came out and the shrimp appetizer was very good as was the gyoza appetizer. The sushi rolls we ordered were not. I couldn't even eat them. They were covered in sauces that weren't in the menu and the sauces ruined them. They did give us a small app of a chicken skewer appetizer that was very good but after this experience, I don't think we could ever give Oki a 2nd shot. Just writing this I am remembering the taste of those sauces. It was so disappointing because we love sushi and trying new places and were so bummed to not experience the same thing these great reviews had talked about. read more

Went on a Wednesday evening, being the only people at the bar the service was awful. It took over 5 minutes from sitting down to be asked what we'd like to drink. Not only was the bartender delayed on asking us what to order, he was far more concerned about the Hibachi birthday dinner that was happening in the other room. The food was great as it always is, but as the other reviews have posted, they need to work on their service. We sat with dirty plates in front of us for over 10 minutes, was never asked how the food was, and never asked if we'd like another drink. When it was time for the check, we didn't give the tip according to the total, we gave the tip for service. Clearly he was not pleased and "huffed" once he saw it while we were still at the bar! I love this place. I've always been for sit-down meals and once for take out, I have yet to try the Hibachi tables, just not really my type of food. The sushi at this restaurant is amazing. It's so fresh and every roll is delicious. I have yet to not like one that I've ordered. They always come over with some complimentary dish, last time they brought us plum sake shots and a free chicken lettuce wraps appetizer. With my take out they gave us a free chicken stick appetizer and 12 extra pieces of sashimi. Which were so good, when we went in the next time we ordered the chicken. They have they right idea for advertising their stuff... samples. The servers are kind and try to keep your table as clear as possible, which I personally like a lot. Other meals we've tried are the pad thai and the general tsoas Chicken. Both delicious. Also, keep in mind that their food has the ability to get VERY spicy. So when you order your food spicy, I think the best way to communicate what you like is on a 1-5 level. 5 being it may just ignite into spicy flames on your plate at any moment... which is just how I like it. read more

I am so happy that a quality Asian food restaurant is so close to my home. The atmosphere is always nice, not too loud, beautiful lighting, and the servers are excellent. I've eaten there 3 times now, and am impressed with the fact that the servers are quite knowledgeable and attentive. There is PLENTY to pick from on the menu. Another cool part is that you can order from the hibachi menu without having to sit at the hibachi grill. They have a vast array of sushi and sashimi to chose from, plus other cooked Asian dishes. Even the basics of fried rice & lo mein noodles are great. One last comment, last time I went was for my birthday. No one informed the restaurant about my birthday, but our server was attentive enough to over hear our conversation about my birthday, so he brought us a FREE tempura banana and ice cream dessert for the table to share. What an awesome surprise! Do be prepared to spend a little money, but it is well worth it! read more

Decided I wanted a scorpion bowl and this is where I ended up. Scorpion bowl was very tasty. I had the general tso's chicken and my girlfriend had the teriyaki beef. Both dishes were delicious! Will definitely be coming back. Sorry I didn't know about this place sooner. Prices were a little on the higher side of things, but the quality of the food is definitely worth it. (scorpion bowl for two was $12 which I found to be more than reasonable for the size of it.) Definitely give this place a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

Unfortunately tonight was a complete disappointment. My family has been coming here for years, to celebrate birthdays and graduations and everything in between. We were greeted with a complete lack of respect, the waiter insisted we order immediately because they were "busy". He never put the order in for our food. We sat and waited and waited... and when we said we wanted to cancel the order, he said yes ok! And then decided to charge us for the food we never received. We spoke to the manager about our horrible experience and he did nothing to rectify the situation. We are very patient people, and as we waited patiently for over 30 min, for our adjusted bill, we informed the waiter that using the excuse you are busy is not acceptable, as that is how normal restaurants operate. We are very saddened that this restaurant has lost all of their customer service values and respect for their once loyal customers. Please do not eat here until they remember that it is their loyal customers who keep them in business and no matter how busy you are, you should always offer excellent customer service. read more

For my nieces sweet 16 my sister made reservations at 6pm for 26 of us. When we walked in there was another party of 20 something people with reservation too. It was pretty chaotic, like the staff had no idea what was going on we finally got seated at 6:15. The other party ended up leaving because they over booked and there wasn't enough room for them! The women waitress was extremely rude!! She basically threw the menus at us. She took the salad from my 5 year old nephew when he was mid chew. My dad had to ask for his drink 4 times and eventually had to go up to the bar and get it himself. The hibachi chefs were entertaining and friendly. The food was was ok. When it came time to pay it was completely ridiculous. They were running around frantically yelling at each other. They said that my brother and sister in law left without paying the bill, so my sister had to pay the "unpaid bill". We later found out they did pay. They also overcharged my Dad $104!!!
