I was very excited to give this place a try but man was I let down! The overall decor and authentic Cuban atmosphere is good however the service and food fell short. There wasn't one dedicated server to our table instead we had to flag down any employee we could find just to ask for mustard and they were visibly annoyed that we bothered them. The waitress that eventually took our order couldn't understand me and thought I asked for pink lemonade when I was ordering empanadas.. I ordered the Cuban sandwich which I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up for.. The pork was just a deli cut instead of pulled like I'm used to. My fiancé and I both ordered empanadas-one beef,one chicken and they gave us both chicken. When I brought this to another waitresses attention she argued with me that I ordered chicken and had another waiter help me. I could clearly tell from that point that I didn't fit in at this restaurant being blonde hair and blue eyed and was basically being picked on by the entire wait staff. Long story short, I will never go back to this restaurant nor will I recommend anyone to put up with what I did. Only reason I keep coming back is because the food is good and cheap! Service on the other hand deserves only one star if that. Every single time we go we get bad service. Last time my boyfriend and I went for breakfast we saw our server ONCE and that was to get our order. Another server got us drinks, delivered our food, and dropped the check. What was even worse was when we were leaving our server was by the door and just looked at us without even saying thank you for coming or goodbye. They need to hire better and more experienced staff! Decent enough. A place where many will probably return for their good prices and OK food. I'm not sure if I will. We had breakfast, and the food was OK. I got the Cuban omelet, and the first bite was good. But then I realized the ham seemed to be deli sliced ham cut up, and the cheese was Kraft american slices. Husband had a chicken and onion dish, and it was decent also. Again, nothing that made me say wow, but not bad. I thought it was odd that there were french fries included with seemingly every meal, but maybe that's a Cuban thing? I've been to other Cuban restaurants with only a few meals that had fries. Besides the food, I liked the decorations. The music was entirely too loud, especially for breakfast on a Sunday morning. At one point I couldn't hear my husband talking to me from just across the table. The service was friendly, but not overly attentive. I had to flag down the waitress twice. Food took forever, ordered a Cuban sandwich and they gave me some other thing, then they gave me the correct one but the meats were cold. My niece ordered white rice and lechon, and they gave her black rice, then took forever to change plates, ordered 2 budlights and 1 Michelob Ultra and apparently they were all in different places , since he served one, then got the other and then got the third one. The best Cuban food on the planet - wish I lived closer! Was visiting fam in Orlando and found this place on Google with 4 1/2 stars. It deserves 10! Waitress was friendly and accommodating. Food was delish and abundant! Two of us ate off it for two days, the other two demolished their meals - so good! Surprised at how inexpensive our meal was. We expected to pay much more for what we got. This will be a mainstay stop the next time we visit Orlando. read more

This was a wonderful surprise. Located in a little strip mall, we have passed it by so many times. We finally did stop in and we are so glad that we did! We were served top notch coffee drinks. Do not plan on coming here for a work lunch... Service here was soooooo slow... There were four servers working today and the restaurant wasn't even full. We had to ask for refills for water, waited 15 minutes to get our servers attention to get the check then other 15 min for him to collect it. He didn't even return, we had to bring the checks to him and told him we had to go. I ordered the Cuban Special and the sandwich wasn't even hot pressed. It was okay, nothing too special about it. I'm here today for the second time after first bad experience , I decided to give it another try. We had our coffee cup with some lipstick on it. We told the waiter and he said that it was traces of cinnamon. He was ready to walk away when I asked him if cinnamon was pink, it was then I pointed out that the cup was dirty. Instead of offering to exchange it, he asked if I wanted a new one....duhhhh....I said I did not want to drink from a dirty cup and he still looked at me like I was nuts...I said yes give me a clean cup... then we order an appetizer that comes with a garlic sauce. I asked for an extra one because there were two of us. He said the kitchen ran out of sauce, does this mean that the next person who orders it does not get the sauce that comes with it?...don't sell it if you don't have everything that is on the menu.... we had a midnight sandwich and the pork was extremely dry and crunchy like if it was old. we sat in a broken and ripped booth and I hated the service...we sat there about 20 minutes until a different person came to ask if we needed anything else, at which time i asked for the check. i did not leave any tip the service is horrible and i hated how they treat you....they are not that good to begin with and there are plenty of other great restaurants in the area....This place will never get another visit from me or anyone I know. The place is also dusty, you can actually look up and see the dust in all the decorations. read more

Tried this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. To say I was disappointed and completely underwhelmed with the staff and food would be an understatement. The service was extremely slow. When our drink order came to the table, the waiter spilled the entire tray of drinks (2 glasses of ice, 1 beer, and a sangria) on the head of my child who was sitting quietly watching a movie on our iPad. I realize accidents happen, but no form of compensation was even offered. She was completely soaked and had to be changed into pajamas (as this was the only thing I had as spare clothing for her). The vaca frita was not well seasoned and very bland. The chicken milanesa was also very bland and the breading was thick and greasy. The soup was lacking in salt and pepper and the rice and beans also arrived to the table cold. The yuca frita was the only item that was made correctly and tasted good. We will definitely not be back and will not recommend anyone to dine here. read more

Not the best cuban food at all but being cuban I am slightly critical, the wait is extremely long, and the presentation is non existant, the breakfast looks like something you can make at home, but the worst part which is what prompted this review is that as I sat at the table by the kitchen at the new alafaya location I saw the server make two large cafe con leches, taste it, add more sugar and with the same spoon she had in her mouth, stirred them and serve it to a table! Stopped by for some brunch- restaurant looks awesome- great decor and it was jammed packed! Sadly, the wait staff were scrambling and we stood at doorway for an awkward 5 minutes with them giving us eye contact but refusing to come by to say "welcome! We'll have a booth for you in 10-15 min" instead they continued to avoid until someone came by and rapidly said we can sit at the only table left (next to take out register and bathroom) and then rushed off. The only authenticity to this Cuban Restaurant was the decor! The food was so bland. The rice tasted like uncle ben's with yellow food coloring, the ropa vieja tasted bland with ketchup in it. The chicken soup was very good. The customer service was ok, and prices were decent. Would not recommend this place to anyone who knows how authentic Latin food should taste. This had to be one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had. Walked in with my family for the first time and there was no host, no one greeted us so we sat ourselves. After 10 minutes we got up to grab a server bc no one noticed us. After 30 minutes they bring half our order cold and not how we ordered it. The rest of the order wasn't done yet (35 min in). They didn't seem to care much and we walked out.
