In all fairness, the food is actually quite good. It's unique and seemed healthy enough. Everything we had was very good. I give 2 stars due to the cost. It was surprisingly expensive for breakfast. In fact, it was almost obscene considering what we had. We each had the sampler platter, 1 coffee, one orange juice. Just over $40 with a normal tip and I left there still hungry. I wound up stopping for a breakfast sandwich at another place. IDK, it just seems to me that I could get a proper supper or a larger breakfast for that price. Old Euro is a "absolutely-can't-go-wrong" breakfast establishment. What makes the place so special is that most of the items on the menu truly take time, skill and will rarely (likely never) find their way to your plate if you stay home. The Hungarian Goulash is my protein load of choice (I will normally ask for a to-go container at the onset). Additionally, you won't find my eyes fixed on just my plate as I scan for some other tasty leftovers hanging around. Try all the Aebelskivers you can. Growing up they were always dipped in melted butter and followed by powdered sugar...strangely apple sauce with the meat version is also worth a go. read more

My family and I LOVE this place. Every time we come to visit, we eat breakfast here every morning of our trip! The service is sometimes slow because there never seem to be enough staff for the quantity of patrons; however, the food is well worth the wait, and the staff is very friendly and courteous. I had a passport card, and Old European was listed on their web site, all three locations, but when I went to pay I was informed that only the North Division store accepted the card. This after I had presented the card to the waitress before I ordered and she said they took everything except American Express (?), so she didn't even look to see what the card was. We tried the French Press coffee, but the water was only warm. So we ordered regular coffee instead and were charged for both the French Press and the regular. However, the food was tasty. We found this wonderful place through Yelp and decided to stop for breakfast. Yelp wins again! The first thing to notice when entering is how clean and well maintained it is. Very classy looking for a cafe. The menu is very extensive with many European foods, thus the name. Be prepared to spend a lot of time looking it over and then good luck making a decision as to what to order. If you are lucky your waitress might be a most delightful young lady named Sydney. She patiently and thoroughly answered all of our questions about the various items on the menu. We ordered too much for the two of us to eat but wanted to try so many new items and it was well worth it as everything we ordered was so yummy. I'm certain the locals know about this gem and I heartily recommend it to anyone driving near when its meal time. read more

This used to be my favorite place to go for a Saturday brunch but last time I was there, it was a serious disappointment. My omelet was full of cold but burnt veggies. This place rocks! My family and I knew we were in for a treat when we saw the fresh orange juice squeezer machine. How can you go wrong with fresh OJ? The breakfast menu is extensive with every combination you can think of. We came for breakfast 2 days in a row; once on our way from Spokane to Silverwood and then the next day because we were craving more! Like the previous post mentioned, the Scandinavian plate was amazing! You get a strawberry crepe, which was the best I have ever had, 3 ableskivers (I got the ones stuffed with sausage and cheese which were incredibly delicious), one German potato pancake (also very good) and 2 buttermilk pancakes, definitely from scratch and delish! The kids menu is great too. They get a pancake for free (and 4 choices for the shape they would like it to be: fish, teddy bear, snake and can't remember the other one). Then you can add eggs or bacon or sausage for a couple bucks. My husband loved the fried steak with gravy and eggs plate so much he got it both days in a row. It comes with your choice of sweet side. He picked the 6 ableskivers with blackberry brandy syrup (very yummy!) I also ordered the Austrian coffee which was very good. They add some spices to it like cinnamon, nutmeg, some others and top it with fresh whip cream. So if you're thinking about trying this place out, do it! You will not be disappointed! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. We were so excited that they had some old favorites that you just can't find in most places. The staff was attentive, friendly, and quick. The place was PACKED and yet, our food arrived promptly. The cake platter (I forget exactly what it was called on the menu) was, in a word, awesome. I love going there for the Dutch baby, and the lemonade it's beyond delicious, they may be a little spends but they're worth the money.
