Yum! Hosted a bachelorette party here reservation was held. Food was incredible came out. Fast drinks were reasonably priced and we had such an amazing time. Great food great atmosphere. Terribly smelly and dirty tables and bar. No one is doing any regular thorough cleaning. All booths and tables need not just wiping but a good washing. Will be back and here is why... Barramundi was excellent. Good beer list with local craft beer. Service was excellent, knowledgeable of the menu (and building history) and friendly with a smile (spot on Megan)! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming and the building has plenty of history that has been kept in tact. Thankful I found this place. My wife, her parents and I were walking around downtown Reno, and on a whim, decided to have lunch at Old Granite Street Eatery. It was a great experience! We only had to wait about 5 minutes for a booth, and immediately were hit by the great scenery. It was like taking a trip in a time machine. Everything from the art on the walls to the furniture was great. The water is served in old alcohol bottles, which we all thought was a great touch. The food was also great! A little expensive, but I find that to be the case when eating out these days, so I didn't ding them too much on value. We started with the shishito peppers. they were good, but it would be nice to have a dipping sauce or something with them, as the flavor was just pepper. It's nice to see though. They are one of my wife's favorite appetizers, and not many restaurants serve them. My burger was delicious! It was a hard choice between the Black & Blue Burger and the Spicy Burger as they both sounded incredible. I ended up going with the B&B so I will for sure have to try the spicy next time. And trust me, there WILL be a next time. The fries were a 10/10. Crispy and hot and delicious. Service was pretty good. It was a pretty busy time so it took a while for our food to get there. But that's ok, doesn't affect the number of stars because the meal was just so darn enjoyable. I recommend it to anyone coming to Reno! read more

I came here for lunch last week with a friend. That's how I know that we arrived at 1:15 pm. Everything started out fine- there weren't many other people eating, and our orders were taken pretty promptly. Cool! However, our server didn't actually put our orders in- not ok! More people came in, and their food appeared...not ours. The server finally came back after about 40 minutes and said it should be out soon- it took another 10ish minutes so I am guessing that's when he realized it and put the order in. My friend and I were talking (and getting hungrier and hungrier) and probably should have asked him about it sooner- I really wish we had! When we finally got the food (a burger and a Mediterranean chicken salad), it was good but not amazing. We were late getting back to work and had to scarf it down fast and so this was not a great dining experience. Also, my ($4) iced tea wasn't refilled til we were about to leave and I was so excited I took a big sip...of soda. Boo. I hadn't been here in forever and had only been for brunch in the past. I guess I will stick to that. Or snack first/go when I have unlimited time. It's such a nice space and full of light- this could have been so much better. read more

We decided to visit The Granite Street Eatery because it participates in a credit card frequent flier mile program. We haven't eaten here in years so we wanted to try it again. We made a reservation ahead of time so we were seated promptly. It took a little while for our waiter to take our drink order and throughout dinner the service was a bit slow. The entrees came with salad. Which is nice. There were four of us. Three of us had the NY Steak and one of us had the Salmon. I had the Caesar Salad to start. The lettuce was fresh, but it could have just a bit more dressing to give it some more flavor. I substituted both sides having fries instead of mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies instead of spinach. The fries were nice and crispy. The veggies were nicely cooked but lacked seasoning. The two others with the steaks stayed with the mashed potato but complained that they were dry. The steaks themselves were not a good cut. They were small and thin. Similar to one you would get when ordering steak and eggs for breakfast. They also had what seemed like too much fat and gristle to my liking. Otherwise it was prepared as ordered. The "bacon demiglace " resembled something more like ketchup in consistency and flavor. It worked good with the fries since I wasn't offered any for them. The person having the Salmon enjoyed his entree. For desert we had the deep fried cheesecake which was a really small portion along with some tasty espresso ice cream. There was also a small chocolate lava cake ordered that didn't seem to have any chocolate lava. It was ordered with vanilla ice cream. Overall we were not moved. The building is cool inside and out. The staff were friendly but seemed a bit stretched thin. I appreciated that all my substitutions were honored, but none of us were asked if we wanted a second drink. I myself had a hard cider and would have expected it to arrive in something the size of a pint glass and it was served in something much smaller. Stopped in for a quick bite and they never disappoint. Friendly service and nice chill atmosphere. I highly recommend the pretzel bites served with beer cheese. They are buttery pillows of pure happiness. Also, the wedge here is next level. Somehow, adding lightly fried red onions to the salad takes it up a few notches. Best I've had! read more

The food was really good. I got the grilled chicken sandwhich but asked them to slightly modify it to a crispy chicken. We had a very nice waiter and were seated quickly as it was not very busy. Recommend having a reservation especially on a Friday/Saturday Night. Great view as its walking distance to the river trail and a view of the mountains . Came in to Old Granite Street Eatery on a thursday for a dinner with colleagues. We had a reservation for the "community hightop table". We were sat right away. The building itself is really cute. All the drinks ordered were really good! Some cocktails to note were the margarita and caramel martini. We ordered fish and chips, pot pie, chicken sandwich, OG burger and revision burger. Overall food was good. The pot pie was a little soggy and felt more like a pot pie soup than traditional pot pie. Overall we had a good night, and i'd be back to try some apps and other items. read more

Lovely atmosphere, slow, tranquil and beautiful! The flower powered drink was wonderful with gin and a lot of other yummy things. Was not sweet. The shishito Peppers were perfect, except the first one blew my mouth off. Rest were perfect. The roasted sprouts were good. They didn't feel like they were roasted because they were sort of soft. The food was great! Went there on a Thursday for lunch with some coworkers, we were seated immediately. The decor is lovely, has an old charm to it. There was only one waiter who was seating people, grabbing food, and closing out tabs. He was very busy, so our food took a bit longer, but very understandably so. I ordered the West Coast Wrap, it was good and the fries were fantastic. The hot sauce I asked for was also super good. I'm pleasantly pleased that there is a new menu (I think new ownership and management) and now they have so many gluten-free options. Including a gluten-free bun for burgers. There aren't many gluten-free bun options in Reno right now as most places have stopped carrying them (or closed). It's a good burger and the bun doesn't fall apart! Regular fries are battered but the sweet potato are GF but in same fryer. They also have a great happy hour! Had been way too long since we've been here. What were we waiting for? First thing to notice is the building. Be sure to ask about its history. Dinner started with brown sugar bacon. So we kinda fought over it. And both won. Wow it was great. Fish and chips was excellent. Nice and crispy with house made tarter. The chicken pot pie was a rich soup over a fresh naan bread. The location is perfect for attending Pioneer Center performances which is what brought us there. It's a very cute restaurant and unfortunately that's where it ends. I will say the server was very nice. The food is so mediocre. We both ordered the steak dinner, came with a salad. The salad was served in a tiny bowl nothing special. The steak was ordered med-rare came medium-well covered with a sauce that was not tasty accompanied by dried mashed potatoes and fairly tasteless. Spinach and mushrooms. Our Over Seventy Meetup group lioved this place, once we learned that there was an elevator . lol. Many of us were not familiar with Korean fusion but thanks to the host/owner? John and his advice, most of us were very happy with our food, the service and the size of the servings . As a fan of Kim chi I thought theirs was mild but most of our group didn't. I had the bulgogi, new to me but delicious and such a large portion that I had lots of leftovers. Downstairs a band began as evening fell but the insulation at our restaurant was so good that our conversations were not interrupted. We are looking forward to returning and will arrive a bit earlier to find a parking place closer. We can enjoy drinks on their patio till the time comes. read more

Was looking for a local place to celebrate a friends birthday and decided on this place. Called and made reservations and I'm glad we did! Got seated quickly but took a bit to get service. The server was very nice and did let us know it would be a bit of a wait. Once we ordered our food, it came out fairly quickly! The food tasted excellent. We all ended up ordering burgers and they all tasted perfect! I ordered garlic parm fries... really tasty. The restaurant aesthetics were very cool! What exactly happened there on Mother's Day May 11th this year??? Wow. I made reservations a few weeks before for my party of 5 at 12:00 with you. You were only serving egg items and pancake items (5-10 minute cooking times in kitchen normally). It looked like you only had 3-4 people working that day...and 1 was a new hire (on a busy brunch type of holiday?) We arrived at 12 and got seated up near the bar at an uncomfortable table with high chairs. We left 2 hours later!!! Why? Why? Service was completely awful and a few burnt omelets we received. (I didn't have any time left to talk about that part)....we needed to get on with our day. Observing everyone else near us - it appeared they all had the same look of desperation on their faces too. I really won't be back if your management team doesn't have the sense to have more staff running the place. I was praising this place before we went there, as I had heard good reviews about the food. Ok..finally getting around to expressing my disappointment in this place. We were in town, fresh off a vacation to Hawaii, for a birthday celebration with local family and were pleased and quite surprised actually, to get a reservation for our party of 7 the next evening because it was the same night of an event at the Pioneer, for which we incidentally also had tickets for! Yeah!!! Right??! Well...upon showing up to the place for this special dinner..we were told they didn't have room and had called and left a message with me with this unfortunate update . I told them I got no such message and what number did they call because I certainly gave them my cell number when I made the reservation. The host proceeded to scroll through his phone looking for my number that they assured me they had left a message on...and realized they were NOT going to seat us and had probably NOT taken the time to actually call...so we turned tail and found a lovely place across the river that was HAPPY to seat us and had excellent food and SUPERB service! In retrospect, I guess I should thank you, Granite Street, for helping us discover this other, EXCELLENT place that will certainly be on our radar for the next visit to Reno! read more

I had a work dinner here with a group of 8 and had a great time. The menu has something for everyone. For appetizers the Sweet Bacon Chips is definitely a must. I also loved the Shishito Peppers. The Edamame and Calamari were also a hit. I had the Revision Beer Cheese Burger with Garlic Parmesan Fries and it was absolutely delicious. My coworker ordered the Turkey Burger and added the Beer Cheese to it and he said it paired well. They also have a good wine menu. Our server was friendly. Overall it was a decent experience but not spectacular. The restaurant was charming and cute. With the small size of the restaurant voices carry easily so it was extremely noisy due to a party of 12 eating when I was there. The servers were friendly and gave just the right amount of attention. The chicken and waffles was seasoned properly and the waffle was crisp to perfection but slightly dry. The salmon benedict sadly missed the mark. The salmon was overcooked (barely-I almost didn't mention it) and the benedict was missing the hollandaise sauce (the chef drizzled it only over the potatoes). The potatoes were slightly undercooked but deliciously seasoned. For dessert I have the triple layer chocolate cake. This was dense, a touch dry, but the chocolate was on point. read more

OMG these Bloody Mary/Maria's are the best in town!!! Erik the bartender was out of this world on making these and then when he was leaving he brought us extra Bloody Mary Mix in case we wanted another one we would have the mix ready to go! The fish and chips were also fantastic and could be hands down the best in town I just have not had many to compare so I will keep on the path of trying fish and chips to see if anyone compares. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and Yummy! The Eggs Benedict were good just a little extra lemony which is not the worst thing just not my preferred flavor for Eggs Benedict. I might have given this place 4-5 stars if it weren't for the last 10 minutes of being there. We had a reservation on Theatre Night for 515pm, we arrived promptly, we were seated and told we were able to take part in the Happy Hour menu if we wanted to. Our service (Alliston) gave us a little time to review the menu, we ordered drinks. When she came back with the drinks she told us there were several items that were not available as they are in the process of changing the menu. We opted to skip ordering any appetizers as there just wasn't anything that we all felt strongly enough to order. We ordered our meals. Two ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, one ordered a salad and I ordered a Cheeseburger with the Parmesan Fries. Our food arrived as ordered and everything tasted very good. We finished our meal, we were eating at a reasonable pace. Once our dishes were cleared, our server brought us the dessert menu and once we took a look at it and asked a few questions, we ordered the chocolate sea salt ice cream for 3 of us and then the banana cheesecake along with coffee. Those were delivered, we ate them and they were very good. It was about this time that our service told us that they had the table double booked for the night, implying that we needed to get the hell out. We took it with a grain of salt at that point because we didn't even have our check yet. She brought our check, the gentlemen put in their credit cards, she took them to process and when she came back, AGAIN she told us that they had this table booked and basically told us it was time to leave. All four of us felt the vibe and it was very odd because she started out very friendly and what I'd consider a good server but the sudden rush to get us to leave was very off-putting. We normally dine at La Famiglia before the shows at Pioneer and decided to try something different this time, well we already have our reservation for La Famiglia for the coming shows and won't be back to this place. I'd give the food 4 stars, service was a solid 4 until we were rushed to leave. Though I'd love to leave 1 star for this, the food was good and I believe in being fair. read more

I had one of the worst dining experiences of my life at this restaurant. After taking our drink and food orders, our server never checked on us again. Meanwhile, another couple who arrived 15 minutes after us received their food without issue. After 40 minutes of waiting, we asked about our order and were told that a large group on the patio was causing delays and that our food would be out shortly. Another 15 minutes passed with no update, so we decided to leave. When we asked for our check, we were shocked to see that they had included the food we never received. We had to ask them to remove it and explained we had been waiting for over 45 minutes. Their attitude showed little concern or apology. So I've come to this place about three times. The first time we had great service, food and atmosphere. The second time, we had a about 5 of us for brunch. The service was slow, and inadequate. We tried one third and final time because I honestly really want to like this place. I specifically asked for a non-spicy Bloody Mary. I was served a habanero infused vodka, extremely spicy Bloody Mary. I had to send it back. My partner, who likes spicy, couldn't even drink it. I ordered the mushroom burger with a side salad. The salad was basically the same lettuce toppings that were on my burger. Service was slow. There were only about four other parties in the room with three other servers. One woman had to actually physically go up to the bar and request her bill because no one was paying attention to the patrons. read more

Old Granite Street Eatery had been one of my favorite places to visit a few years ago. The food was always yummy and I felt that the inside was elevated and had a very refined feeling. My sweet guy, Ben, decided to take me in one evening for dinner based on my nostalgic cravings. We decided to start with the beer cheese appetizer. Granted, we ate the whole pretzel, but it was mostly just okay. It was a little dry and we felt like the flavor left something to be desired. The beer cheese really helped the pretzel along but I was surprised no mustard was served with - isn't that a staple with a pretzel? Ben got a burger with fries for his meal. His was okay. Nothing to write home about but nothing major with it either. The burger was a very dry burger, there was no sauce on it. I got the Fusilli Bolognese Pasta. It was pretty good but it was a massive serving. The basil was very tasty in it. Again, nothing to write home about but nothing majorly wrong. I had also ordered gotten a side salad. It was... also just fine. I'd say take a look at the photo to see for yourself what it came looking like. What was a little displeasing was our service. We'd even made reservations and still felt like not much care was taken into account. It felt like things took a little bit of time and our waiter might've been new because he seemed unsure of some things. It was also a slight letdown that they listed a menu item that was no longer available. I'd asked for the Drunken Muscles and they didn't have them anymore. I found that offputting. Overall, Old Granite Street Eatery was just... fine. Not bad, not great... I would be hard-pressed to visit again just because there are places I like with better service and food. The dinner menu felt pricey. I'm sad things didn't live up to the hype of my nostalgia. 7/10 recommend read more

We shared the wedge salad, chicken pot pie and the Churro with maple bourbon ice cream dessert. I had a great lunch w/a work buddy. As always, the restaurant was immaculate & welcoming; Carlos was sweet & provided great service, as always. I considered trying other items but remembered how amazing their burgers are, and was well rewarded for my loyalty. Perfection! Cooked to perfection, salted to perfection...The fries were also the ideal balance of crisp exterior/meltingly soft interior, and served hot enough to burn fingers & mouths---but still didn't slow us down:-) So lucky my office is literally a block away. read more
