I've previously extolled the well made cocktails, especially the mar-toonies, and the Mad Men feel to the bar. But what makes this lounge so special is the bar tenders and wait staff. Drinks are made to championship (yes, they've won a few) level. The wait staff makes you feel like a regular on your first visit And on this count, I raise my Plymouth gin martini (shaken, lemon twist) to Emily D. What a gem!! During Christmas time, the bar can be slammed. But with a charming smile, a joke or two and time to stir up some fun at out table, we were all treated like old friends of hers. So much so, we came back for lunch the next day and who was our server? Princess Emily! Trader Vic's Mai Tai - "A" for effort. The cocktail was still tasty but Trader Vic's Mai Tai it was not. It just didn't have the good marriage of sour and sweet than actually having the Mai Tai at one of the Trader Vic's location. My 3rd drink was Silver Belle is their award winning Martini. Oh, it's good. Also, I love Edlerberries. So, it was just what I needed. My 2nd & 4th drink was Cucumber Basil Gimlet. The bartender, Greg, was so amazing! I mentioned that I haven't had Cucumber Gimlet since Bourbon & Branch's Library. He then asked on of the servers to grab Basil from the restaurant kitchen and he made me the drink! Kudos Greg! Thank god for Oliver's Lounge. I was supposed to meet a bunch of friends for a post-COVID reunion at the Mayflower Park Hotel, but their flight had mechanical problems and they couldn't arrive in Seattle until the next day. Once again HH was perfect! It was of course busy (first weekend in December), but we got a table big enough for our party of 7. Bartender messed up the Manhattans (threw out the ice we like to mix in to keep the drink ya know drinkable...) So he made us minis along with our regulars!! Interesting... I went downstairs for a nightcap, and the bartender seemed annoyed. I ordered a double bourbon. Instead of asking me if I wanted anything in particular he poured me two shots from the well and told me it was last call. Feeling unwelcome, I took my drink with me back to my room and stiffed him on the tip. Just stopped in for a drink but this place is really beautiful with vintage decor. It's located inside the lobby of the historic Mayflower Park Hotel so you enter through the ornate lobby. We saw there is an Italian restaurant, Andaluca, located off the lobby as well and could make a fun night to start with drinks here at Olivers then walk across the lobby to Andaluca. Specializes in gin cocktails which are very good but a little overpriced. Did not get to try much food except for the Mezze Platter. It was basically a platter of crudités with some pita and a tiny bowl of hummus. Definitely not worth the money, even with todays increased food prices . Service was good and ambiance was good. I learned long ago there's something great about a good hotel bar. This little bar fits the bill. Unassuming this place had all the feels for Christmas / Holiday cheer. The little Christmas tree and the big Christmas tree just outside the window really set the stage. They had the only eggnog I have ever liked in my life. They drink menu is fun without being hipstery and the bartender knows how to make a good drink. Good is pretty good to. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a great aviation, or any other classic! Yes. It is a charming bar/lounge. The services were excellent, the happy hour foods were a meh (popcorn shrimp) and the drinks quite reasonable. Yet this this Seattle downtown. A coworker and I were looking for a new place to do happy hour and decided to give Oliver's Lounge, inside the Mayflower Park Hotel, a try. Heck, once I heard "free snacks," I was pretty much hooked. When you go in the main hotel entrance, the bar is immediately to your left. It looks a bit dark and small, but once you go in, you'll see that it opens up into a nice, light, high-ceilinged space with windows all around the corner of the building. With lots of plants and brass fixtures, it feels like a fancy tearoom or a conservatory. Fancy! The server explained that they don't really have happy hour drink specials, but "the drinks are basically doubles," and they do have a daily special cocktail for $10. The specialty cocktail that day was a Dark & Stormy, and it was good -- served in a tall glass, a generous pour, and a spicy ginger beer that made it not overly sweet. I had a greyhound after finding out that they use fresh-squeezed juices in their drinks, and it tasted fresh and tart. As for the free appetizers, there's a small table set up in a corner with platters of snacks, and the selection seems to change daily. When we were there, it was a large plate of nachos with salsa and a platter of pizza-roll-type empanada things. The cheese on the nachos seemed to be cold as soon as it was brought out and it didn't look like it was being replaced too often. I wasn't very impressed by the food and wouldn't make that a main reason to return. The clientele is a mix of downtown office workers and tourists who seem to be staying at the hotel, so the dress code is pretty casual and you don't need to be dressed up or anything. Apparently you can reserve tables (maybe only if you're a large group and/or have business with the hotel?), and the bar is on the small side, so it fills up quickly. The restroom is in the hotel lobby and you'll need to ask for the door code to get in. Overall, a pleasant and upscale-feeling hotel bar to have strong, well-made drinks, but if your happy hour isn't complete without really good food, you might want to look elsewhere. read more

We stopped in to get out of the rain so yeah, we had our raincoats on and weren't looking as spiffy as they wanted us too. That's the only reason I can think of for the service we got. It's quiet!! Super duper quiet!! We sat at a table by the window to watch the downpour! We were given PLENTY of time to look at the drink menu before being approached by the waitstaff. She put down six cocktail napkins and said "Can I help you?" Of course you can! We ordered some drinks... she returned with waters and peanuts, those are a nice touch. Our drinks arrived shortly in very tall skinny champagne flute style glasses (small drinks for huge prices). And that's it! We weren't approached again! No food menus, no drink refill requests, nothing! A gentleman came and cleared our empty glasses... but nope, no more service! Therefore, I can't rate the food since we weren't offered any! Wasn't even aware they served food! Our server saw our empty table and finally approached and asked if we needed anything else, we requested the tab and donned our raincoats and left (after paying of course)! The hotel this lounge is located in - the Mayflower Park Hotel - is a perfectly maintained slice of of the late 20's. Some older hotels/restaurants/locations in general can sometimes feel ancient and stuffy but somehow, walking into this place was more relaxing and nostalgic. Our server was Lea and she was entertaining, energetic, helpful, informative, speedy, and sweet. Our service was great overall.
