I was downtown Orlando, starving... looking for a bite to eat. I came across Olives and decided to give them a try. The restaurant looks new and is very clean. It has a good vibe and is decorated nicely. I walked in and was greeted by a smiling cashier. The menu screens were not working so I asked for a menu. The cashier kindly handed me a menu, and I decided to order the bowl with half rice and half lentils, beef shawarma and all the veggies EXCEPT onions. This place is set up to order the food and sit down with a number and they will deliver the order to your table. I sat down and received my food about 5 minutes later. The food was good, but the order was not what I ordered. It did not have half rice and half lentils... only rice and it had onions. I would suggest stating lite sauce as well, it had a bit too much tzatziki sauce. The chef did stop by my table to ask how my meal was, I mentioned the missing lentils and he immediately brought them out. Also, I tried the jalapeño sauce.... whoo, it's spicy!! Was just okay! Expected much better based on the Yelp reviews and photos. We ordered beef and chicken shawirma sandwiches, a falafel sandwich and more. The portions were small for dinner and overpriced. Sandwiches didn't look anything like the Yelp photos. service was friendly but slow. The restaurant is new and clean. They have a nice self-serve coke machine. My guess is that this is a great lunch place for downtown businesses. We visited Saturday evening for dinner and it wasn't great for that. read more

Grabbed lunch to go at this new spot downtown. The restaurant was very nice inside and the staff was welcoming and friendly. I ordered the Olive box which is a protein of your choice and 2 sides. Food was not good, definitely not what I was expecting. A lot of white sauce is put in the gyro which makes it not taste as good. Shawarma was terrible, tastes like cloves. When the manager came out to speak to us after he spoke to another customer, we told him that the shawarma tasted like cloves and if cloves were made into the food. He gave us a stale response and say he doesn't know how the food is made or what is made with the meat, which was odd to me because he was the manager. After that he just walked away and didn't ask us for anything us thar could help accommodate us. read more

Don't try to go here for lunch unless you are prepared to wait 30-40 minutes to get your food. Today, I got there at noon - the place was busy but not slammed. I placed my order and paid cash. They have me a number and I proceeded to wait after 15 minutes I asked and I was told it shouldn't be much longer. At 25 minutes I asked again and was told the same thing. At 30 minutes I was already going to be late getting back to my office and just had to leave - I couldn't even get a refund because the line wasn't moving because they were so slow. I hope that if they ever did finish making my meal they at least gave it to a homeless person instead of just throwing it away. I appreciate that the owner got back to me with an explanation. So I'm raising my rating - I will give it another go some other day. I just would have been nice for staff to have given me a heads up while I was there so I wouldn't have wasted my lunch hour - but everyone is entitled to a bad day. read more

First time there and the food was yummy but the experience was not. My friend has finished half her Gyro and I was still waiting on my food (3 sides plate). One of the sides was wrong and when they corrected it, another side was incorrect. Perhaps it's because I shared a table number with my friend. It was my 1st time on July 9, 2021 going here and will be my last. The young skinny guy that was taking my order seemed agitated to start with. Asked me at least once if I was vegan or vegetarian which I gave him my response. Asked me again after I was weighing my options and told him it doesn't matter. He needs a hearing aid if he had to ask a 2nd time! Didn't seem like he wanted to be working that nite. I got the chicken shawarma and it surprised me loads of flavor from the potato, pickled veggies, tahini sauce, and even the wrap itself. I got tabbouleh on the side which was also good. Overall pretty fresh food and tasty too. I'll def be going back soon! read more

This is Downtown Orlando's hidden gem! The food is delicious and fresh... oh, and did I forget to mention how affordable it is?! I ordered a "Build Your Own Bowl" with rice, classic gyro meat, and all of the veggies. I also added some Hummus. The food portion was HUGE and the price was great. My dish was just over $10 due to the added Hummus side. The bowl was prepared very well and it looked like it belonged on an advertisement. My bowl was full of delicious flavor and color! Olives is a great little Mediterranean/Greek restaurant that is really affordable. Two people ate, with apps and drinks for $25. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich (which comes with a side for $7.99). It was quite tasty, especially after adding their hot sauce (which is amazing!). Their hot sauce seems to be a slightly creamy jalapeno sauce that is just awesome - so much flavor and spice. They should bottle and sell that stuff! We also got a plate to share and chose hummus, grape leaves, and tobouli. It was pretty good but the grape leaves are served cold (traditional Greek) and we prefer hot (flavor was pretty good though). Staff was super nice and helpful, and food came out in 13 minutes (which is a good time for fast casual). We will definitely come back when we are craving Mediterranean food! read more

I just started working in the area and this place is becoming one of my favorites already. So far I've had the Lamb Gyro, Lentil Peas Soup and the Spicy Potatoes. Everything is so flavorful and fresh! I'm tired of processed food and sandwiches so I like coming here for a home cooked type meal. The lentil peas soup is rich and filling. The food was quick. I ordered two of the olive boxes. I ordered both chicken and beef. It was dry nothing eventful. The Greek salad had big pieces of tomato feta, onion, and olives. Tasted traditional but I was expecting lettuce for some reason and there was none. The hummus was good. I also ordered the feta spicy dip which was extremely tasty. The problem is that you get two sides. So I ordered the hummus and the Greek salad. That means I did not get rice. And we were served 2 to 3 small pieces of Flatbread. Keep in mind that I ordered the spicy feta dip. So I think they forgot to give me a side of bread with the dip. The meal did not come with traditional yogurt sauce which I had to order on the side. So in short By the time I got done adding the side sauces and the side rice. Dinner for two not including drinks was close to $70 with tip.
