Our server was Francis and he was phenomenal, we asked for his recommendations on starters and entrees and also for a wine. Since this was her new job and a major milestone, I let her choose the restaurant. She had visited Bo-Beau last year but didn't get the full experience, so this was her chance to rewrite the narrative. And it was truly night and day. I researched the restaurant beforehand and was excited to see that Bo-Beau is part of the Cohn Restaurant Group, which I mostly associate with San Diego and South Orange County. After this experience, I really hope they're here to stay. I noted on our reservation that we were celebrating her new job, and for once, the restaurant actually read the note and acknowledged it. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was excellent. The hostess welcomed us downstairs, another staff member greeted us when we reached the rooftop, and our server quickly followed up. Then came the surprise: complimentary champagne for both of us. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially because those little celebratory touches seem to be increasingly rare. Our server was also patient with our questions and attentive throughout the evening without being intrusive. We spent about 2.5 hours enjoying dinner and catching up over: Baked Brie Brussels Sprouts Steak Frites Everything was flavorful, and the entire experience felt relaxed, peaceful, and worth the price point. The food was great, but the hospitality is what earned the 5 stars for me. Real hospitality is paying attention to the guest, recognizing the occasion, and making people feel genuinely welcomed. The wedge salad was pretty basic. There was very little bacon on it and way too much blue cheese. In fact, I ended up leaving a huge amount of blue cheese on my plate. The salmon was quite small and super salty. Overall I was not happy at all with the food here, although I will say I've had good food here before. Also, my husband and son thought their food was pretty good. I would come back, but order something different. And absolutely come back for their pop-ups which are amazing!

The food was lousy. The service was shabby and inside was hot with dirty walls. I was so hungry that morning. I was strolling down Pine and saw Omelete Inn. At first I waited in line too long 10 minutes just to get to talk to the hostess to ask for table for 1! I left and went to buy a newspaper. Came back and still the same lady in front of me before was just being asked by hostess for her number in her party GEEZ. I should have left by then. I sat at my table. waited for the waitress to take my order 15 mins later the hostess took my order. Waitress was out of site. I ordered Eggs overeasy, potatoes and bacon and coffee. I waited 15 minutes for my food to arrive. The coffee was watery and warm not HOT. The eggs were OK. Potatoes were orange with burnt bits, I guess it was some sort of cheap attempt to look like seasoning but they tasted boiled and bland. The service was bad. My table setting was missing a spoon, missing sugar and sweet/low. I had to ask twice to remind the waitress for spoon and sweet/low. I was very disappointed yet the place was packed. I had a bad waitresss and bad food service and tasteless food . naw. it was tasteless potatoes and almost burnt bacon and watery coffee. POOR TOURIST who have no other idea of where to go! Seafood Omelette What a delight. I love it. I would like someone to bring me one every morning. Well maybe not every morning, but many times throughout the month if someone would bring this delicacy to me on a regular basis - I might overlook my thoughts on marriage. And that's really saying something. It's hard to find these seafood omelette's at places. Sure you can find all the other typical ones, but seafood omelette's are rare - so if your a fan of seafood and omelette's - your not gonna go wrong with this dish. I deduct the star only because the omelette doesn't have the real deal stuff. I don't have a problem with imitation crab and baby shrimp, eat it all the time. But when you have the extraordinary pleasure of eating a seafood omelette with real lobster, real KING crab, and prawns. Well c'mon now, how could I possibly give anybody else FIVE stars? This unfortunately is one of those places where I'll never get the chance to try anything else though, that damn omelette is just too good. I was attending a conference at the Renaissance and had to get out of the hotel. Googled breakfast and the Omelette Inn popped up. Long Beach is a place where chain restaurants go to die, side by side. It was a pleasant three block walk to what turned out to be an independent, artisinal, fresh food restaurant. My server, Angela, who is a young, charming, helpful server was almost as artisinal and refreshing as the food. Prior to setting off on foot, I read a review that said the Sicilian Omelet was made with fresh basil and goat cheese so i ordered. The sweet Italian sausage was not greasy, the egg was perfectly cooked and the combination of dried tomatoes and goat cheese was foodie good. The meal was not very expensive. The coffee was great and I lingered as I read the local free weekly reader. I could not have been more pleased. read more

I have been to this place several time only because it basicly the only place that serves breakfast down town. I dont see what the hype is about other then its better then its there. If your from out of town, I would suggest eat at the hotel, this is not one of the local places you will write home about. The wait can be long, the service is slow, and the food is so so. The space is tacky and no parking unless you pay across the street. They do not valadate for the garage next door. On my last trip there, the waitress spilled an entire glass of full water in my lap and didnt even offer to comp the meal. Service staff is sirly and I get the impression that the own, (whom I have met) dose not care to much about his own establisment. I never see him there making sure things run smoothly. read more

I ordered the Carnaval Omelette and substituted the chicken for sausage, which came with potatoes on the side. Everything was really good, and the portions were generous--definitely enough to leave you feeling full. Arguably the most popular breakfast spot in downtown Long Beach, this nautically-themed joint that looks like your grandpa decorated it is where locals gladly stand outside and wait (and wait) for tasty affordable eats. Breakfast options range from soyrizo chilaquiles (there is no real chorizo served here, so no need to worry if that's actual pork on your plate) to a dozen different omelets, while lunch includes daily homemade soup, chili, hamburgers and sandwiches. My wife and I visited this establishment for breakfast on a Monday morning. The restaurant was just about half full with patrons and on duty on this day were two food servers and one table clearing person. As seems to be a regular complaint on this review page is the lack of adequate, timely service and this was the case with us. The food was decent, but the service was pretty bad. If you do end up having to pay for street parking while visiting here make sure that you buy enough time on the meter, cause you're going to need it. read more

The Omelette Inn is one of my favorite breakfast places. I had came here around 9:30am, there wasn't a wait, wanted to sit outside, they have a cute patio area...not much scenery but it's still technically outdoors! The selection of omelets was excellent, and I enjoyed the food. Their orange juice is fresh squeezed (or at least, it Tastes that way), the portions are generous, and the prices are low. Their food was freshly prepared, looked very presentable, their prices were reasonable and the staff was very attentive and friendly with all the coffee refiles lol. We really enjoyed our experience. Any restaurant in the heart of a downtown setting is always fret with annoyances such as crowds, expensive parking and noise. We got lucky and avoided all of that and had a great breakfast at the Omelette Inn. We really like the menu selections and the prices as well as the portion size were terrific. My choices of sides included spinach and a plate of hash, while the inclusion of some fruit felt kind of like an afterthought. All in all, egg heaven is a place on Earth, and it's worth a visit.
