I had an amazing overall experience at this restaurant on a Saturday evening. We ordered a few rolls of sushi, which are not too expensive, and the food was delicious. It came out very fast and the staff was very attentive in bringing us drinks. The only thing I would change would be too dim the lights a little. I believe that would increase the ambiance, especially at night. Other than that, the atmosphere is very clean and inviting. We will be returning again very soon! read more

NEGATIVE star if I could. We keep giving this place a chance and not sure why. Maybe since there is not much else by us but I think we are done with this place. The service is AWEFUL. You are not greeted when you walk in they just ignore you this was it we left after 5 minutes of just standing there. Crazy since they had table open but instead they rather you block the front door. I came in early a few minutes after they opened, and the place was quiet and tranquil. Our server was nice as well. The food was great! For dessert I had the fried ice cream and it was DELICIOUS. I am constantly on the lookout for good Chinese restaurants. A good Chinese restaurant will serve some authentic well-defined dishes in addition to the normal Americanized dishes [e.g., hot and sour chicken, over-sugared dishes]. I saw some good reviews of this restaurant and was hopeful. I stopped by for a carryout two weeks ago. The waitress was extremely nice and I ordered what I consider my standard to judge Chinese restaurants, kung pao chicken, and also sauteed broccoli for my wife. Unfortunately, the chicken was about a D+. It was soupy, no hot peppers and the peanuts were not sauteed into the dish. It was basically edible, but had absolutely no zing. Same critique for the broccoli. I will say that the restaurant had a very nice interior, much better than many other Chinese restaurants. I did return and ordered another carryout. This time I spoke with the owner who was very personable. He told me the chicken often gets soupy in transit [a little hard to believe]. He suggested the the salt and pepper shrimp, and I went for a dragon roll. I also ordered the broccoli again. The sushi was great and we loved the shrimp [B+ for both]. The broccoli as over-cooked again. I will return as it is close, the people are very friendly and there are some very good items on the menu. I have not found a good Chinese restaurant in Jacksonville, but will continue to seek one. read more

The dishes are over-priced and service is minimum. The waitress did not smile at all and my almost 4 year old grandson noticed it (he asked her to smile...lol). I ordered a $17 (or $18) tuna platter and was shocked to see there were only 3 pc sashimi, 4 pc sushi and a skinny skinny (not kidding) tuna roll. And they did not taste fresh and sweet enough. My husband and I come here often. We usually order the seaweed salad as an appetizer and 3 or 4 sushi rolls for dinner. Their sushi is amazing! It beats everywhere else in the Bartram area that serves sushi and Jack, the owner, welcomes us by name each time we stop by which is a special touch that doesn't go unnoticed. The servers are always ready with a smile and quick to take your order. It's the fresh flavors and the welcome atmosphere that keep us coming back. The prices are reasonable too. Not one to complain but I did not have a good experience here. Service was fine but the sushi was not fresh. I don't eat meat, only fish so I eat a LOT of sushi. We went on the recommendation of others and expected really good food. The rolls were small, fishy tasting and were quite chewy. Chewy seaweed wrappers and fish are never a good thing. At one point I had to force myself to swallow. Hopefully they improve. I only had sushi so I don't know how their cooked food is. read more

This was the worst dinner I've ever had! Ordered chicken teriyaki. It was boiled chicken in some kind of broth that didn't have any flavor. I threw the whole thing away. Couldn't even eat one bit! DO NOT eat here!!! It came with a "salad.... ordered ginger dressing..... tasted like they took ginger dressing and added 90% water. I have been in here a few times. The food is fair the staff very friendly. The portions were small. I most recently ordered the sushi special and the California rolls were small. ( probably because it was their special) I also ordered a beer special but I was 2 minutes late at the end of special so instead of a discounted beer sale I ordered a water. I would have thought they would have honored the first beer discount as it was the top of the hour. A discounted sale is better than no sale. The Thai curry chicken seems a bit different than other restaurants. Flavor was fair. It seems more dried stew. My wife asked for extra broccoli but it never was added. She made recommendation and knowledgeable about the different sushi rolls. My sushi was fantastic and the presentation impressed me. We have been looking for a Chinese restaurant that actually has a nice sit down environment. We tried One Third Asian today and were very pleased. Although we had Hibachi and teriyaki dishes, they have many choices for a traditional Chinese meal. They also have Sushi and Thai. So the choices were many and varied and will lure us back soon. Stopped by and had the Crab Rangoons, Soup, Salad and Pad Thai. First three dishes were great...the Pad Thai - good but not great. I tried my friend's sushi roll, and that was AMAZING! Overall, not a bad experience. The one thing that I did find a little off putting was to walk in to find the wait staff gathered in the dining area, sitting at a table socializing.
