Ended up here while on girls weekend with a couple friends. After looking at the menu online and seeing the names of the food items alone, we were convinced that One Well was the place to go. We went for lunch. I had a chicken sandwich (something with 'Cluckin' in the title lol) and a beer (Cherry Cherry, a little too tart for me, but it was still good), the girls shared a quesadilla and each had a different beers (blonde type) as well. We all raved about our own food, and wouldn't concede to who's was better. I'm not sure what some of the other reviewers had stating that their food wasn't flavorful... ours was seriously kick ass... The homemade kettle chips were super yummy too. Someone was complaining about .75 / play for pinball... but I didn't think that that was outrageous. There are a lot of these places in Chicago and NW Indiana (where we are from) and it's just the same, if not more. The staff was helpful and the atmosphere was very laid back and fun. The ONLY downfall I would say is because of the fact there are no servers (when you walk in you order your beer, they pour on the spot, and then bring you your food to your table)... when we were ready to leave and needed boxes for food, we ended up just reaching behind the closed bar we were sitting next to snag a box. Bonus though- No styrofoam or plastic ware. Everything was biodegradable and we loved that. Plenty of board games to choose from, and if you bring the kids the little play area is sizable. This place is the best of the best for a solid meal and a really solid beer. I love this place, my only complaint is that often you cannot find a place to sit or stand which leads me to my tip: if you can, go on a weeknight, and avoid the weekends. This brewery is great! Their beer selection is on point. Every time I come (maybe once every other month) I start with a $10 tasting sample of 5 new brews and, certainly not every taste is my favorite, the beer here is darn good. Their food is also great! I highly recommend the pulled pork sandwich and the pizza. They have a mug club here too with awesome handmade ceramic mugs. If I lived closer I would be a mug club member for sure. read more

So, beer was good and the atmosphere was pretty cool, but that is all that I can say that was good. We ordered the BLT and the pretzel with cheese. The pretzel and cheese reminded me of one you would get from a roller skating rink. The BLT was one of the worst things I have ever tasted. It was a bacon pate, aka disgusting. It was cold on a toasted bun. I couldn't eat more than 2 bites. No one ever came by to ask how it was if I wanted complain or ask for something else. There were kids everywhere. While I like "kid friendly", that isn't what brings me to a brewery. $40 for 2 beers and inedible food....I will not be back. read more

LOVE the sloppy whoppy, and the hard cider tastes like motts apple sauce (which I really enjoy). The other beers are good and highly drinkable, but they leave me wanting more. More malt, more hops, I don't know, it just seems like something is left on the table in the pursuit of not offending anyone. They could afford to push the envelope a bit, or maybe it's just me. Anyway. Food is good, atmosphere is fun, it's just a little loud but after a few that doesn't really matter. I'm very glad it's so close to my house, the area needed a place to drink quality beer. why order food online when you can't even get a non alcoholic drink as well?? made me go inside to the bar to get a drink i paid for on my phone. when my food was sitting by itself outside for the flies to get. i wanted a coke and they gave me a diet coke and when i went to ask for a regular, they walked away. why not put a sign saying you have to go inside to get your drink? not a very good system if you ask me. read more

My wife and I love this place. The atmosphere is terrific especially since they expanded into the empty space next door. They know how to brew beer, the food specials usually are wonderful, the menu varied (they now have salads), vegan stuff (I eat meat), have board game galore, pinball, darts and a great eclectic setting. One of the few places locally to get sour beer (you need to develop a taste for this). Wait staff friendly and helpful. We joined the Mug Club and have been very happy with everything. My son and I stopped in last week to try their food and brews. Hostess who took our order was very helpful in her descriptions and suggestions. After tasting a few samples we chose our beer and food selection. When the food was delivered by the chef/owner he spent more time than he probably had available to answer questions about our order. Love, love, love this gathering spot. Their beers that i have tried are all delicious and well priced. The staff there is lively and cheerful. They alone make this place unique and awesome. Here you can play darts or even a board game with your friends. They have many there to choose from! And they have a nice patio area to sit out on and soak up the sun. Have been a # of times since they expanded, and just plain love the place, now, Even though the original half is still the loudest freakin' restaurant / bar I've ever frequented. Beers are still a bit gimmicky. food's gotten way better. Gimmicky beers, and odd service. Jokes were made about needing more "beer flavored" beer. Waitstaff would be a huge step forward. If I wanted to stand in long lines to order beer and mediocre food, I'd enjoy trips to the ball park more. A Menu that hinted at a full service kitchen somewhere in back (as opposed to a crock pot and a Panini machine) wouldn't be a bad idea, either. Loved the board games idea. self service and board games would have gone better with a less crowded, quieter venue. When we went it was packed, and possibly the loudest restaurant I've ever been to. Watched some woman smack her child around inside the restaurant as we were leaving, which did not add to the experience. They have old school dart boards, arcade games, board games and even a pool table. Unlike some other craft beer places, One Well has a hometown bar feel and the owners are awesome. They're always interesting if not fantastic. I only wish they were closer to downtown. I've been here twice since they've opened -- once last year before the kitchen was ready and they didn't serve any food yet. Our group had a great time trying out some of the games they have on hand -- first, I love that you can do something fun there besides just sit and drink, and second- what a great way to try games that you might want to buy to have at home! Most recently I visited with my sister and we ordered two pizzas. I give 5 stars for the Heck Yes Pizza!! Bbq sauce, pulled pork, pineapple and cilantro with a kick of jalapeno -- it was seriously the best specialty pizza I've ever had, anywhere. No one else serves a pizza like this. The other pizza was with mushrooms and olives and it was delish as well. We didn't have beer on this visit but we did have yummy root beer! This place is even kid friendly -- we visited on a Sunday afternoon with 2 little kids, and they even have kids games available too, which made the wait for our food go by very quickly (but maybe not the best food selection for picky kids). Staff is super friendly and knowledgable about the beers and menu. There are other things on the menu that I want to try but for sure I will be back again for that pizza! We were driving back from Chicago and decided to make a pit stop in Kalamazoo to one last beer on our birthday celebration. We found this spot online and it was a perfect location;right off the highway. This bar is in a really unassuming strip mall. We stopped in and were greated warmly by our bartender who welcomed us into the establishment as it was our first time. I got the Professor Nutbutters which tasted like peanut butter but wasn't overwhelmingly so. Got to sample the Sweet Water Sweets and the Jalapeno Blonde. I really liked both! This bar has arcade games and was hosting a paint and pour at the time. Overall a cool place! read more

I was excited about the family friendly atmosphere and all the gluten free options available on the menu, however, my daughter, who has Celiac disease, became quite ill after eating her gluten free pizza. She is 4 years old, so alcohol consumption was not a factor. I understand there is a risk of gluten contamination with any restaurant that does not have separate kitchens but the severity of her symptoms suggests it wasn't a small contamination. They may want to re-examine their gluten free food prep procedures. It's really disappointing because the food was really good and going there was a very enjoyable experience otherwise. read more
