We've been regular customers over time and spent a lot of time and money here. Tonight's service included us servicing ourselves to find silverware, napkins, clearing our eating area, and paying the bill by standing in line in another area. The manager mentioned earlier to us that the night is very slow (i.e. not a busy evening for employees). When the manager was notified of our dissatisfaction, he defended the server by saying he is a great employee with no customer service issuess. We really enjoyed stopping here for some beers and lunch when we first arrived in Kalamazoo. Their beer selection is crazy awesome, everything from Jalapeño beer, to peanut butter to beer brewed with donut holes and coffee - it's all so good. Their food is great too, basic bar/pub faire with their own little twists and creative names. They had an entire shelf full of playable board games from my childhood which was rather endearing, and lots of pinball machines and some arcade cabinets. The only thing that was a little annoying was the fact that it was really hard to order food at the bar. They have an entirely different counter for ordering food and the staff wasn't super attentive (it was really busy after we got there though so I can't fault them entirely). We never had an empty beer glass though! Overall, a great experience and a really unique place that worth checking out. read more

Visited One Well Brewing for the first time last night. What a fun place, great food (had their pizza) and just hung out and played euchre with friends. It is set up with picnic tables, very low key. You order at the bar but have servers clear your tables. They have cards, board games and other games to sit and play while having a drink. It was busy but a fun atmosphere. I went here recently and was not a fan of the bar style of dining. If you're going for drinks/to hang out, then it's great. But if you want food, they don't have servers. You have to wait in a long line at the bar to order food/drink and go back up to the bar every time you need something. read more

The beer was great and the service was amazing. It was my first time at one well as my boyfriend and I made our way to the bar. Dana cheerfully greeted us gave us a run down of the menu, asked us what our favorite type of beer was, gave some recommendations, and then got us a few samples, even informed us about the double ipa bottle release happening next week so we don't miss out! she was so friendly and helpful, you can tell she really loves her job. The beer was great, I had a double ipa (really wish I could remember the name of it) and my boyfriend had the sweet water street, both were very tasty and i will definitely be back again for them. The only thing that was a little disappointing was the very small serving of salsa and guac that came with the chips, also a bigger selection of vegan options would be awesome. Stopped here on a road trip - what a great choice! Right off the highway and the food came out in less than 5 minutes (once we figured out that you order at the bar). Staff was extremely friendly and offered samples of the beers before selecting. We got the Mario pizza (with pesto instead of red sauce) and the salivation quesadilla. Both were so delicious we didn't want to share. Large beer selection as well as board games to choose from while you wait. Will definitely go back if passing through again! read more

I was in town for one night on 7/30/16, and stopped in for take out and growlers since this was less than one mile from our hotel. What an awesome choice! The beer choice was great, and the staff guided me on what to try. I was bummed that only the late night menu of pizza was available, but I quickly changed my mind when I tasted the pizza....as fresh as it gets, and I'm a huge fan of thin crust. read more

Great family spot with most excellent entertainment for children (arcade games, pinball, board games), and adults (BEER) alike. Good for little littles (toddler play area) and older ones. I'd get snowed in here any day. Close to hotels, 20 minute drive from Bittersweet. Excellent vibes, shared family style seating, no table service (self serve counter). In one visit to this bar I had several "experiences", almost all of them excellent. The pizza I had was as good as any pizza I've had in 40+ plus years of eating pizzas, thats as simple as my opinions can get. The only thing I could say on the negative side, is that it was slightly petite, but thats hardly a deal breaker, especially considering how hard it is to find excellent pizza, and I would still gladly drive the 15 minutes from downtown to get one. On to the beer: I had a delicious double IPA, don't remember the name of it, and an even better porter I think it was, that was aged in a bourbon barrel. This was one of the highlights of the trip, as it came in at 11% abv, and you could REALLY taste the bourbon flavor provided by the barrel. I've had beers that claimed they were aged in bourbon barrels, but the bourbon flavor was faint at best. Here the flavor screams through and it is a profound experience to say the least. Finishing on the master of consumables; while walking to the back of the bar, I was slammed in the face by the most succulent of odors, I was completely unprepared for the intensity, and for a split second, I was almost taken aback and disoriented. I gathered myself for a second, focused and came to the determination that they were cookin barbecue back there, I mean REAL barbecue. I asked about it, and sure enough, a barmaid said they have a smoker in the back! I was on my way out so I didnt eat any, but judging by the smell, I would say its the real deal for sure, and beleive me, I'm harrrrrrrd on barbecue,and know good from bad! The aforementioned barmaid brings me to the atmospherics. The waitstaff is outstanding,its almost worth going to the bar just to see how blue this very welcoming barmaids eyes are, she spends time talking to you, and gives a very pleasing vibe. The other maid, also a beauty hails from Brazil, and her accent is also pleasing to and enhancing of the buzz. The guys were good, for a second I thought one was a bit haughty, but I calmed myself and gave him a chance and I'm glad I did. Inside there are MANY, MANY, games to play,. fooseball, for free I think, darts, pinball, card and board games for all ages. They even had some kind of painting class going on with a BEAUTIFUL and mystical art teacher, who even had the nerve to name two of her kids Abraxis and Osiris. I think that sums this bar up quite nicely. Bells still has its purposes, the yard outside and the downtown location, but for the most part its way played out, too accessible too bourgeois, and too commercial. This bars better if you can make it out there. oh, and the only "bad" experience was the peanut beer. I thought it tasted a bit rancid, but your mileage may vary... read more

Great food. Great Brew!!!!! Why does it have to be so far away!?!? (a 3-hour drive is a bit far for great pizza and beer) Had specialty pizzas - absolutely delicious. Sandwiches coming out also looked wonderful. Love that you can choose carnivore, herbivore, vegan, and gluten free. Allows YOU decide how to eat! Bartender had perfect recommendation for brews.
