Probably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Me being a short haired guy with hair no longer than 2 inches, would be shocked to find a long dark hair woven into my macaroni salad. When I went back to the store just after it had happened they would not provide a refund or do anything to rectify the situation. So I try to contact corporate, who has the nerve to ask me if i still have the food(days later). I inform them I do not have my recipt or the hair infused macaroni, so they tell me they cant do anything. Even after I had offered to show them my bank statement when i had purchased the food. So when I called and they basically accused me of putting the hair in my food, I decided I would not like to consume foreign objects like hair, nails, etc and I prefer not to be blamed for their lack of cleanliness and unsanitary food preparation habits, I will no longer dine here or provide this franchise with any of my business. read more

Ordered the #2 Katsu Plate. Chicken didn't have no taste, the katsu sauce tasted/looked like it was watered down. I'm from Hawaii and I know how Hawaiian Kine Grindz is suppose to look like. The only thing that came close was the Mac salad. I also felt like they over priced the Aloha Maid Can juices. $2.19 each is way too much. But I was thirsty and haven't had anything close to home(Hawaii) lately so I just bought it. Bathrooms were a mess. And it smelled so bad in there. I literally almost threw up. read more

Big portions , and the beef is so flavorful ! Cashiers are very nice , could show more interest in the customer instead of just taking orders. Absolutely fabulous!!!! This is my favorite Ono Hawaiian BBQ franchise/place. Service is always fast and food is not only freshly piping hot but delicious! The staff is friendly and helpful. I like to substitute some items on my combos and it's never a problem. Restaurant is always clean and their is plenty of seating. They are quick to clean up messes by the sauce counter and drinks. I've eaten here an the food is good. But the service got me to write this review. I had a mess up with an expensive Postmates order and I was in a panic. The lady was so helpful, she made sure they didn't make the order, and submitted that they didn't have the ingredients, so Postmates would help me cancel it faster. So I'm not a sucker for chains. But I also will not complain when on the road and submitting to local customs when in town. Since this was a part of town that was not pedestrian friendly, we had to drive over to this local chain and parking was easy. An amazing amount of spaces available. My eyes were glazed from this wonderful mirage that seemed too good to be true. One word from the man: Chicken Katsu I'm not a big fan of the traditional Katsu. Being born Japanese affords me this known luxury from since I was a wee little one and since my stomach does not do that well with heavily fried stuff (this includes all the donuts during my recent rampage) deep fried cutlets is usually not on the top of my menu. These were my experiences from my mother's cooking and several top rated Japanese restaurants across the US. How would this chain compare? Remarkably, actually. My Chicken Combo, priced reasonably at $7.19, came amassed with strips of moist chicken with teriyaki sauce and the chicken katsu, surprisingly moist and crunchy with the right sort of Panko mixture. Add in the mound of perfectly cooked white rice, macaroni salad, and cabbage......it was pretty good. His Katsu portion was double that of mine and equally large. We ended up taking the leftovers back since the weather had turned for cooler and when we arrived back in Sacramento, I caught him munching on a piece later that evening. Great staff. Great food. I LOVE THE SPAM MASUBI!!!!! Yes, I know I'm a weirdo but I love it with that asian hot sauce. Oh so tasty! When i first tried this place I ordered the BBQ mix that comes with bbq chicken, short ribs, and bbq beef. I usually order something like that just to try different things to see what I like. The chicken was good but I loved both of the beef items. I LOVES ME SOME SWEET MEAT!!!!! Owww!!! It's especially great mixed with the rice or with the macaroni. I change it up a bit. Probably the best Ono Hawaiian franchise that I've been to. They cook their Katsu to perfection here. It's just the right amount of crispiness without any oiliness. The spam musubi is never soggy - like in some of the other ones I've gone to, and they really know how to make their cream cheese wontons here. They always give a generous portion of rice and vegetables, and the vegetables taste fresh. This is my go-to place, when I don't know what else to eat. read more

Every other business in this complex has tables outside. Poor business choice to not have any for your restaurant. The Girl at counter said it's "corporates choice" and told us chipotle will allow us to sit at their tables. However there is a sign in chipotles window that says seating is for their customers only! I've been craving chicken katsu for around 3 months, so today my co-worker and I chose to go there instead of BWW or the Burger Boss. Oh...do I regret this. My co-worker got the meat/beef combo, which came out 1 min after he ordered. Fast service or left over mistaken order? I ordered the Chicken Katsu and I was damn excited for my macaroni salad and chicken. My order took around 10 mins or more to show up and when I got it; oh, was it inedible. So today was my first time trying out Ono's . I ordered the Chicken Katsu mini meal for 4.99. It comes with chicken katsu, a scoop of macronni salad, and rice. I also ordered spam musubi for home. I'm really glad that they have mini -meals, because I would not be able to finish the large meals. Chicken Katsu tasted a bit over fried for my taste, but still good, especially with the sauce. Macoroni salad was smooth and creamy...try eating macroni salad, with rice, and chicken at once..sooo deliciious. Also, their rice is really soft. Spam Musubi was you know..spam, rice, some soy sauce..wrapped around seaweed. All in all, ono's is a good place to eat. Usually they close at 9pm, but Friday's and Saturdays are at 9:30. I have yet to try their kalbi short ribs, and bbq meats. read more

I've been here only a handful of times since this location is pretty busy and I don't have a very long lunch so I ordered ahead this time. When I came I waited less than 5 minutes for my food which was fantastic. The chicken that I always get (grilled with the lemon) didn't taste good today, it was thin and too crispy for my liking. I LOVE eating at Ono's! Whenever my dad stops by in Riverside to visit, he and I usually eat here for lunch. When we first started coming here, we would always buy our own meals. The problem was that Ono's gives REALLY large portions of food (which makes it worth the price!) and we always found ourselves struggling to finish them. As a way to battle that, he and I just decided to share a meal (we always get #4, which has a lot of great meat) and split it up that way. Even when we split it, we still have trouble finishing our halves and always feel full and stuffed by the time we're done. The meat is always great and the workers are also incredibly nice. They keep the place pretty clean and the food is always finished in a timely manner. I definitely recommend eating here, especially if you're looking for something worth your money. read more

I love macaroni salad and chicken katsu and big portions for a good price and this place has it all! The only thing I didn't like were the cashiers. They were on the "I don't give a crap" side and even though the place was empty she was short and impatient with me. I don't usually get Hawaiian BBQ so I looked at the menu a little bit longer than usual to see if they added/got rid of anything and she gave me a "are you serious you don't know what you want here?" kind of a look. Be forewarned, this place is almost always very very busy. However, as busy as it is, the customer service is pretty good. I've never really had to wait in line too long, waiting for the food can take longer. They have a great selection in the menu. My recommendation for first timers is to order the combo plate. That way you get to decide which cut of meat you like for your next order. My personal favorite is the kabib bbq ribs. This is a favorite so it is sometimes it is still cooking hence the waiting for the food. When you eat the food, you taste freshness unlike other restaurants I've been to, where the rice has already dried and the meat is tougher than rubber. One star because of the way the situation handled. They got my order wrong and I had to wait past closing hours. It was only because they were closing that they realized that they didn't even place my order with the cooks. But before the cooks even started to cook my food, the cashier and cook argued for little bit until another worker yelled for the cook to just COOK! Finally I received my order and although a nice gesture to make me more food for free, I feel that they should have just compensated me by doubling my order or giving me a refund on top of my food or something along those lines. This is the best Ono Hawaiian BBQ in the Inland Empire. They are consistently busy which means they are constantly cooking, so the food always taste fresh. I work close to the Ono's on Madison and I hate going to that one because they always give a smaller portion than the Canyon Springs location, and the food sometimes taste like it was prepared earlier in the day. The Canyon Springs location rocks! Lot's of customers which probably explains why some people are ragging on the wait time. You don't have to wait very long for a dollar burger, so if your time is precious go chew on that instead. I prefer Ono's any day compared to other fast food places and waiting 20 minutes only tells me that my food wasn't prepared hours ago. High marks from me! Riverside Ono. I love you so much. Oh, and I really do miss you. I miss the days I would spend weekends in Riverside to visit my best friend and eat Ono's at least 7 times in 3 days. I would even take you you back home to San Diego... San Diego didn't have an Onos. sniff. I love how you come big and mini. The mini meals are perfect... just enough mac salad, bbq beef or chicken, rice and your oh-so-delishhhhhhh boiled cabbage. The big meals were perfect for my fat days when I wore my stretch pants...just to fit you in. Oh...and Ono, your boiled cabbage tastes soo good. For my non-fat, low carb days, I would have the mini bbq meals with no rice or mac-salad and extra cabbage. I miss you and can't wait to visit you. First off...My first time here was during Lent and I had given up red meat and rice T_T. So anyway, I had gone with some friends after a night of hardcore drinking, so we were pretty much all either hungover ,extremely sluggish, still buzzed or a combination or the latter...I remember specifically "Do you love me" came on and I was snappin' my fingers and singing along with it while waiting in line..haha So ANYWAY...time to order...mmm...all looked appetizing, but I decided to go with the classic I had kept hearing about from everyone...the chicken katsu with rice...rice?!?! nOOOOOO...."is there anything else i can get?" "why yes, you can sub it with more macaroni salad" "alright...lets do that..cuz i gave up rice for lent..sorry" "no problem" "and....can i also get an order of spam...awww dangit....no red meat either... T_T can i get the bbq chicken masubi instead?" I paid, tipped the cashier and everything seemed fine...went to go grab some of the sauces that they had in dispensers and went back to my seat to wait for my number to be called. Finally...my number was called (it wasn't THAT long..i think it was just the alcohol that made it seem longer than it actually was). mmm...grabbed my food and asked for hot sauce if they had any..she handed me a small container of some red sauce and i asked for a couple more (i LOVE spicy foods). little did i know..that the red sauce was one of my FAVORITE hot sauces EVERRR...Sriracha Rooster Sauce..yummmm.... So there I was...food in front of me and im diggin into the chicken and macaroni..after mixing in some..i mean..ALOT of sriracha (if you like food spicy..definitely give this a try..it's is SOOO goooddd mmmm) i would actually go back and just order a large order of macaroni salad and a couple containers of sriracha. (yes...its that good) Chicken wasn't half bad..nice and flaky/crumby on the outside...and for the most part juicy on the inside (once you start hitting the edges it just becomes all crunchy haha) Then....i start for my chicken masubi..opened it up...and cried...RICE!!! omgahhhh....how could she have let me order this knowing full well i couldnt eat it?!?! T_T haha just kiddin...it was all my fault..i totallly forgot...sigh...so i then asked if i could replace the rice with macaroni.."no" T_T fml...so i basically had 2 chicken masubi's staring back at me..and i couldnt do anything but stare back..haha failllll.... Conclusion: Overall all the food was pretty good (yes even the chicken masubi which i had to eat a couple days later on a sunday (the only day where i can kinda cheat...i SWEAR i had good intentions when i ordered it..i didn't MEAN to -____-) so yea..definitely give the chicken masubi a FRESH try after lent is over. Chicken katsu...mm...really enjoyed the flaky/crumby breading and the healthier leaves of cabbage that acted as the bedding was a really nice touch as well..made me feel as if i was actually eating healthy food..xp Next time I will try out the bbq/grilled chicken entrees and report back.
