Hands down best Ramen spot in NYC! The quality of the ingredients is definitely a notch above the rest from the fresh veggies to the tender strips of pork that fell apart in my spoon. Additionally, the broth doesn't taste as excessively salty as other Ramen soup places- which you can tell by how much water you chug later on. It actually feels like you're having a healthy dish that still tastes amazing. Great for a cold day (or hangover cure :) In terms of the place, it's definitely not a dive ramen spot. A delicious small cozy restaurant right on 6th Ave. Strongly recommend this place to everyone and anyone. The service is friendly and efficient and the food is amazing and so reasonable. We got the spicy miso ramen which was super hot and tasty, it is served with a slow roasted pork (so much flavor!), a little bit of bok choy, and beans. It wasn't too spicy so don't be afraid to go ahead and try this. I also had the pork bun which sent me over the roof, I love pork buns and this was definitely one of my favorites and done right.The bun was so fluffy, the pork was cooked with perfection, the sauce was so flavorful and not too much, and the cucumber slice added the perfect crunch to tie everything in. 5 stars and I will definitely be returning here. read more

Stumbled upon this place one night for dinner. Got a seat right away. I ordered the shiyo ramen and my friend got the spicy tonkotsu ramen. Pros: Food -The ramen was delicious. I had the spicy miso. That chashu was pretty good but the broth was pretty awesome. Ippudo still wins with that umami bomb and garlic oil doe, but still I would say the broth was great here. Does it count as cheating when Ippudo uses all those nice things? Not sure. Atmosphere- Nice dim lighting and a clean aesthetic. It just gives you a warm feeling despite looking pretty modern. Cons: Misinformation: -The menu on the outside is not the same as the one on the inside. One of my friends who wanted the miso ramen was not able to order it because apparently they only had spicy miso ramen. I would highly suggests for the menu on the door to be updated! - The spicy miso ramen contains scallions which was not shown on the menu. I personally do not like the taste, but I think this would have been troublesome had a person been allergic. I would love to definitely come back again to try out there other ramen options as well as appetizers. P.S. Can you please place the menu a little higher on the door outside? Or maybe just make the menu a bit bigger for the door? Most of us are not 4' 9 and we're straining our necks to read it. Strained necks before digging into our ramen does not sound good to me. My wife found this spot, so we came here on a nice cold Wednesday night ( this is the 2nd consecutive time we have had ramen on a Sunday... tradition? Possibly) Place is very nice and tables are communal but you can still have your private conversation. I went for the Spicy miso ramen... cause it came with an egg and I like spices. ( literally the real reason. If the ramen has egg it has me) We had ordered a pork bun for an appetizer. One thing to note is that it is one big pork bun. Not the usual 2 that comes at pretty much every other ramen spot we have ate at. We looked at each other confused but, have to say that pork was real good. The ramen was great. Really surprised by the reviews this place has. There are a LOT of ramen shops in NYC, and full disclosure, ramen is not typically one of my favorite go to foods, but even I have had enough ramen to know this is sub-par. It's tough because on the one hand I like having a bigger variety of restaurants in my neighborhood, but on the other hand I cannot in good conscience write a very positive review for Oramen. One weird thing - they don't have hot water or tea, which is really surprising for a Japanese restaurant. Not a deal breaker but I definitely enjoy tea or at least hot water with my Asian food. Appetizers were hit or miss. Pork bun was good but chicken bun didn't have enough chicken in it. Agedashi tofu was solid - definitely have had better where the tofu had a nicer, more delicate crisp on the outside, whereas this one the outside coating felt a bit soggy. But the broth flavor is good and the eggplant that comes with it is yummy. Now for the main act - I've had the veggie ramen twice here. Both times it had a really oily mouthfeel. I don't know if it's coming from the broth or the noodles, but I've never had ramen that tasted this oily before, and an otherwise fairly healthy-feeling meal with plenty of veggies left me feeling meh. My friends have tried the shoyu and tonkatsu ramen on different occasions, and they were consistently too salty. The texture of the noodles is solid, and you get a good amount of toppings, but the overall ramen experience is not something I want to go back to again and again. read more

The menu is extensive and offers a wide variety of options that you don't see in most Japanese restaurants in Manhattan. We love Japanese food & eat it at least 2x a week. Even with so many good dining options in the neighborhood, we return here as often as we can. Ramen in NYC is a conundrum. In Japan, it's one of the cheapest but most delicious and quick meals one could get. It is 'everymans' dish. However, in NYC you can end up paying over $20 for a bowl of ramen, unheard of in Japan, not to mention pay extra for all other small dishes like gyoza, making it a typical NYC-cost experience. I was very pleased to find in Chelsea an absolutely delicious option, in an aesthetically pleasing modern vibe environment that is in the hip NYC style, and good value for money! My friend told me this new ramen place opened up in Chelsea a few weeks ago in October. I was hungry and uninspired by the usual places, so I decided to give it a try, I had nothing to lose if one meal didn't turn out well. I'm not a ramen person by nature, so it takes something special for me to try and enjoy the experience. I went on Friday night around the key dining hour of around 7pm. It wasn't too crowded (I think it's just a matter of time until a line forms outside the restaurant once word gets around). The menu is very compact, but more than enough, in my opinion. Having read the Yelp reviews, I went for tonkotsu rather than shoyu ramen. And I ordered gyoza, because a good ramen place always needs good gyoza. All the drinks are reasonably priced, which surprised me, and I wondered if that reflected the quality. I had the panda sake on the bartender's recommendation - and my expectations were blown away. It was delicious, as she had said. And I got to keep the glass! All in all - highly recommend ramen lovers try. Lunch sets are even greater value for money. read more

The atmosphere is kind of chill, the food is averagely priced for New York, and the portion size was also ok. The taste of the ramen - pretty good? I find with ramen in New York that you can never really go super wrong - the noodles are always decent and the broth ok, but you also never are completely blown away (sadly). I had a really positive dining experience here and thought that they did a really good job with making a comfortable space considering we are in a pandemic. The wait staff all wore masks and brought our food out in a very timely manner. They checked in on us but didn't linger near our table for too long and I felt like it was clean. The food here is delicious! We ordered a spicy tuna roll to share and tonkotsu ramen. I thought the spicy tuna roll was smaller than usual (only 6 pieces in total, I'm used to getting 8) but it was so fresh and very tasty. The tonkotsu ramen was honestly one of the best that I have had in the city I really enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of thin straight noodles which this one had and it also had very delicious, unctuous pork to accompany a well developed broth. Overall, I think this is a great spot for either sushi or ramen and I definitely recommend a visit. Also they had really great Happy Hour specials that were all day I believe which was amazing considering we went on a Saturday. read more

It's honestly amazing to me that this isn't on any of the "best ramen" lists in the city. The ramen here is delicious! The noodles are similar to ippudo - the thinner noodles that really have some "al dente" bite to them, and the broth was a similar rich tonkotsu as a lot of the better ramen houses in the city. I think there's maybe less chashu - or maybe there's more pieces but they are smaller pieces, but that's just picking nits. More importantly - given that this is not as well known as some of the other ramen restaurants like Ippudo or Noodle Bar, and it's not like one of the smaller ramen shops like Ramen-Ya that only has 10 seats, it's really easy to get a table and get served here. I was meeting a friend around 8, prime eating hours, and still got seated immediately and was in and out in about 45 min. 45 min in and out, no wait. I feel like it's partly bc this place is just north of union square and in this weird spot sort of in between gramercy and Chelsea so not as much foot traffic, but whatever the reason, I'm happy it was easy. read more

I slurped up every last drop of the broth, which was almost thick enough to take a bite out of. I asked for extra scallions and they were happy to comply. Had the lotus root and some potato salad to start - lotus was delicious, crunchy with just a little kick. Potato salad was good, but the mustard tang is not my favorite as I prefer a sweeter version. Excited to see what kind of drinks they will offer, but the license is not there yet. Supposedly will open in a few weeks for lunch, which thrills me greatly. Their tonkotsu Ramen is definitely the "porkiest" tasting Ramen I've had. One slurp of the soup and you'll get hit in the face with an intense rush of that rich, mind numbing pig fat flavor. Overall didn't blow me away, but no scrub either. I don't recommend the egg add-on, as it doesn't come marinated at all. Portions are quite tiny for the price the bowls come in. The three of us met here for a quick dinner. Ramen is when your tummy needs some warm soup in it! We started out with shishito peppers and fried okra and taco(octopus). Both apps were tasty and freshly prepared. In fact there are a lot of small plate options on the menu. In the future I would probably order from this part of the menu. The restaurant felt very cozy, kind of serene, but I had just come from a long shift at work so any change of pace was welcome. I can imagine that this place gets pretty busy on weekends though, so keep that in mind if you choose to visit. The beer was very good, as was the shishito pepper appetizer. The ramen was a solid 4-4.5star experience. I prefer my ramen with a bunch of toppings, so this place was a little lacking in that department. Regardless of that, the tonkatsu broth was solid.
