We just celebrated my baby girl's birthday at Orange Grill. The food was plenty and superb quality. Banquet menu covered everything from sea, air and land. We also ordered entertainment for the kids, so the staff made sure there was enough room for the kids to have fun without bothering other guests. Want to note something very important the staff, from management to waiters was so kind, professional and with great attention to detail. I have to say that the sushi here is the best anywhere in the city. The sushi menu includes zero carbs rolls. You will not go wrong with any roll here. The Sumo roll is my favorite with the soft shell crab. The menu has been revised to great measures. The bread served on the table is so delicious. I had a great Amarone red wine that I checked on Vivino, it got 4.4 rating with 414 reviews. The wine is Recchia Ca'Bertoldi Amarone Della Valpolicella 2009. Ask for it, you will not be disappointed. I had the Iceberg Salad, $10, amazing. We had the Black Angus Rib Eye Steak, $36. It was so tasty and juicy. Not overly salted. The seasoning and taste was amazing. As appetizers we had Aubergine (eggplant) $8, Pescado Crujiente (Fried Sardines) $14, Duck PRillette $12 and the Duck Prosciutto, $8. Each and every one of them was exquisite in taste. I highly recommend this place and I don't think you'll be disappointed. It maybe tough to get in here on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday, due to parties and special occasions, so I recommend you make reservations in advance. read more

Came here few times: one of many of my business meetings and just another day, a private party in their private room in the back. The business meetings were ok: by that I mean, the seating for us was adequate and no one felt crammed. The food was unique and I did not appreciate their choices to pair savory with sweet ingredients. One very irritating remembrance that I acquired is that once they start to play music in the main room, it gets extremely loud in the private room (hence, not so private). During both the meetings and my private party, trying to hear anyone speak was a real struggle and not appreciated that at all. Our business group was the only people (besides the staff) in the place, yet the management insisted on playing music so loud, without lowering it, even after multiple complains were aired by the only paying customers...strange. For all of these visits, one surprising thing to see and taste was that they food was exactly the same. At least some variety wouldn't hurt, if the chef(s) do not taste their strange and inedible creations. Plus, the music choices that they had were not very great, considering they also want to be seen as a lounge of some sort. The good thing about coming here on a Sunday (family gathering) is that parking was a blast. No cars around and Sunday parking in BK is free, yay! read more

Came here for a kid birthday party on a Sunday evening. First thing I see are the cool decorations. I don't know if it's part of the restaurant but very nice. It was a banquet so there was food on food on food. It was endless. Everything I tried was really good. It also had very nice presentation. Sushi. Potatoes. Steak. Lobster. Fondue. Everything was delicious. The waiters were also very attentive. They came and switched out plates very often. Only thing I thought was weird was the bathroom. It was 1 women's bathroom but there were 2 toilets inside without stalls, not sure I understand that but it's ok. read more

They took really good care of us. Celebrated my son's 1 year bday there and it was amazing. Food was top notch, service was great, price as agreed, and the staff helped us decorate that morning in advance of the party. We also used their DJ and MC for music and dancing in between the food courses, who were also great. There were also helpful in accommodating some menu adjustments, table cloth and napkin color coordination, and helped us with planning the best way to layout the tables. We booked this restaurant for my son's 1st birthday last Saturday and closed it since our party included around 40+ people. I can only say the greatest things regarding the party. The food was awesome. There was such a large selection of food and anything I tried was delicious. Everyone at the party raved about the quality of food. The service was one of the best I have seen anywhere. The waiters worked non-stop and helped with EVERY request, even a few odd once (since we had a 1 year old there). I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone and I just hope they continue providing this superior service going forward for many many years to come. I used to go to Orange Grill because of superb food and fantastic music. I went there for a birthday party last Saturday again since not being there for two years. The place has changed. The food wasn't as good anymore and certainly wasn't worth the money we paid. The music was just bad at times. The AC was blowing at our side of the table so hard that we had to sit with our jackets on. There was a disco light pointed right at our table and into our eyes. My husband had to ask 5 times before they actually bothered to turn that light off. They used to have the beats curtains between some tables which made the place look very cool and hip. Those curtains are not longer there. At this time, I would not go back to Orange Grill. read more

I went here for a friend's birthday party with a group of people. The food was decent: a variety of seafood, sushi, and some Russian food like potatoes and mushrooms. To be honest I didn't like the singers at all, they completely butchered most of the American songs that were played, and in general, the songs played were not very popular or "dancy." Recently, after several recommendations from my friends, I called the Orange Grill to make a birthday reservation for a party of 20 for Saturday, March 10. Michael, the manager told me that the restaurant is booked and offered to come celebrate my birthday on Sunday, March 11. I had reservations about it since all my guests and I would have to work the day after. However, Michael, the manager, has convinced me by saying we can start our party as early as 3 pm while having all the perks we would have if we were celebrating on a Saturday (banquet discounts, outstanding menu, etc) and that their live band will start entertainment that early too. My guests and I arrived at 4 pm. The band did not arrive until 6:30. By that time, despite me asking the servers and Michael to slow down on bringing all our food, the food was quickly served and the last dish was served at 6 pm. I spoke with Michael explaining that it was way too fast and the portions were way too small. The guests were still hungry and we did not even start dancing yet. Michael's solution was to pay for additional food. I have gone to many different venues and after paying a banquet prices, I never had the need to order more food, nor guests were still hungry. While I was still trying to sort out the shortage of food, the music started. After a few songs, the musicians stopped signing and turned their computer on. Nobody was dancing. Isn't the indication that your music is not engaging for the public in attendance? We really would not stress over the computer but the choice of music undeniably needed change. So we asked to change it to songs that are popular these days. The answer was - you have to pay per song you want. Really? It was still before 8 pm and a song lasts 3-4 minutes. How much money should we have spent to have a good time at a full service restaurant?? Michael treated us as "picky customers." I promise you, we are not. My guests were all my friends. Together, we go to different places, small and large, with and without music and we NEVER had any shortage of food or complained about music. Great food, a lot of food, awesome music (meaning music that makes you want to dance and have a great time) are the basic expectations of any Russian restaurant.. and so far, all of them delivered! After the party, I felt bad and took my friends to another place to eat. A tactful, caring and wise manager would make sure he satisfies a party of 20 by offering options so the word of mouth brings more business. My friends came from all 5 boroughs of NY and all are successful people that dine out often. Michael offered no solution but to pay more, for food and music. I am sure he would handle the situation very differently if he owned the place and it was the success of his business that was at stake. Beware booking your parties at the Orange Grill, at least on Sundays. You may be shortchanged just like we were.... and bring extra money to go another place to eat afterwards. I am exploring the option of reaching out to BBB or other companies that perform independent under cover checks. Two girls got sick after eating their fish. It is possible that on Sundays they serve left overs from Saturdays? Who knows. It is too bad that along with money spent, there was a birthday moment that was ruined. You can't have that back. P.S. First time here. Heard good things. Expected more. Food awesome. Would be better if appetizers were served on smaller plates. They are doing this Russian restaurant thing when table gets overloaded. I always thought that there should be harmony in the way food is served. One should follow another, tease the appetite and get it ready for main course. For some reason both restaurants and patrons have this need to get food money worse, but in pursuit of this ideal they lose site of real fine dining. Thinking back of 19 century dinners where people were dressed up, silverware was laid out and dishes were served in specific timely fashion. It was an art. This place has an amazing food but absolutely knows nothing about serving. Decor is nice. Location in Brooklyn is odd, but so what. The music is blaring our dance beats that tire people out. First, I hated when I was called on a stage as a birthday girl, this is my private event, I did not ask anybody to do it, my guests did not ask anybody, so f.. off, and then after that the music totally sucked terrible voices, the singers should be prohibited from singing, and awful​ songs choices, cheap​ Russian​ pop songs with terrible lyrics​. Orange Grill views themselves as a trendy fusion restaurant, but they display it as a freakin night night club from midtown NY. Seriously? ... What is the rent cheaper here than the city? I live 3 blocks away and I can still here the Head banging/ Molly Popping/ Trance music booming until 5am! C'mon Orange Grill, have some decency and turn that shit down. There are folks here who would like a decent night's rest before waking up to about our work/school days.. Sunday through Sunday boom boom boom. Loud as a M**F**! I feel even more sorry for that little house right next door or the folks across the street. Oh and for a little bonus on the complaints here, one of your drunk/ drug induced customer with the little fancy sports car made a U-Turn on Cropsey and ended up hitting someone's house across the street. Our lunch here was spot-on perfect from start to end. Our waiter was polite and knowledgable. Their entire menu looks plane delicious! Freshly baked bread was to die for. Caprice salad was fresh (thumbs up for micro basil garnish). Special wow goes to the sushi chef for an amazing roll platter presentation. My first time at orange grill was 9 years ago, and since then, we have been to orange grill for many birthday over the years including last night for my husbands birthday. Compared to most Russian restaurants in the area that start off strong and begin to slack off as the years go on, orange grill stands out for its consistency in delivering great customer service, delicious and beautifully presented meals (both a la carte and banquet style), great music, and a guaranteed good time. It's a pleasure dealing with the management, and we had such an amazing time last night celebrating my husbands birthday. We look forward to many many more celebrations. read more

I came to this restaurant with my family to have a brunch, it quickly turned into a dinner with lots of laughter and fun. We ordered meat, sushi, and appetizers. The portions were large and very filling. Beautiful presentation and the food was great as well. The service was outstanding. My family has many food allergies and preferences, including lactose intolerance, no shellfish, and vegetarianism. The waiter was very quick to take our order and attended to all our allergy needs. Fantastic catering service!!! Orange grill catered my parents anniversary party and it was phenomenal. The food was a balanced fusion between Japanese (sushi cocktail hour), French (creamy pasta with mussels and shrimp, foie gras over pineapple) and Russian (classic assortments of smoked fish) are some highlights from last nights menu.
