So it's a cute little spot, way over priced...seating is horriable. When we arrived 4 of us on a Sunday morning at 8:15 they have 2 tables with 6 chairs, where 1 person was sitting (when they could have sat at a 2 person table) to allow room for a bigger party. The girl behind the counter knew we wanted to sit there, she could have easily asked the 1 person to move. Instead she attempted to have us sit outside on lil bistro style tables (again there is 4 of us) we finally snagged a seat where we could sit together. Waited for our food for sometime..... my sisters ham & egg croissant was dry, the others pumpkin muffin was as well. Chorizo burrito was ok...but came with chips instead of potatoes (for breakfast) ??? All in all we won't be back, and we come down to laguna every year around this time. read more

The food was very solid, we frequently would get breakfast AND lunch here same day. Staff is super friendly, fast and the place itself really cool - historic places that keep high standards are rare. Don't miss the milkshakes, so much other good stuff there I almost missed they even had them. The pineapple - coconut was awesome. Breakfast wise over the course of the long weekend our group had the egg plates, spinach croissant, multiple omelettes and probably 5 pounds of the amazing breakfast potatoes. Really good stuff. Lunch wise we mostly got solids, the IC was a group favorite - their burger is extremely solid for place that's far from a simple "burger shack". We live about 30 mins away and this place is worth the drive for breakfast or lunch. Looking forward to trying dinner once that opens back up. read more

Their staff are absolutely amazing! Very friendly and willing to help. We placed an order for pick up and did not specify the type of toast we would like. We received a call back asking if we had a preference. It may not seem like a big deal but it really is! Their portions are very generous. You can share them or keep them all to yourself. Orange Inn should be a must on everyone's list while in Laguna Beach. Stopped by, early this morning craving a burger. Was greeted by a friendly staff that was happy to oblige my unorthodox breakfast request. The burger I received was fresh, juicy, and topped with incredibly fresh & vibrant veggies. Bun was soft and seemed healthier than your typical white/potato bun. The meat to bun to toppings ratios were spot on and nothing on the sandwich outdid anything else. Just perfect. Loved the homemade (I'm guessing) potato chips and pickles, too. Can't forget the fresh orange wedge, either! Coffee was piping hot and delicious, as well. 10/10 meal, from Orange Inn, this morning. This place gets an automatic 4stars for their freshly baked muffins!!!!! They are perfection in every way. Moist, fluffy and flavorful. I also had a chai tea latte over ice which tasted like flavored milk. My chili cheese omelette was fluffy and full. The fresh avocado on top was the perfect touch. This is my favorite place for the muffins. I recently went and saw that all their muffins had flies all over them. I kindly told the lady working the front window that I came for the muffins and saw multiple flies on them. I also asked if more we're coming out so I could get a fresh one but she told me, "it's the beach and there's nothing we can do about the flies." She also said they are working on a new system for lid coverings but it is what it is. This is absolutely disgusting and disappointing to know that's the service they provide especially now with COVID. Sadly, I won't be returning and I am a local who turned many many friends, families and businesses into this place. Get a new system or this will be reported to the Heath department. read more

We ordered takeout pretty much every single day for a week while we stayed at one of the condos/villas at the Retreat in Laguna. Food was reliably very good and servers were awesome. Breakfast available all day!! A few of our faves included breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwich, veggie omelet, holiday turkey sandwich, tuna sandwich, burger, curried pumpkin soup, fresh peach muffins and smoothies. Everything is about 50-100% more than it should be and just average taste at best. The smoothies are really small. The corn beef sandwich outright sucked with essentially zero flavor. Oh and they give you these stale tortilla chips with everything. Lastly no salsa with breakfast burritos (only pico). The service was good, mostly in part due to Alex; friendly, personable and helpful. While I was there, which was about thirty minutes, he made two rounds on the floor to see how customers were doing. I had a chance to chat with Alex, he said that there most popular item is the breakfast burrito, four types. 1. Ol Breakfast Burrito (3 eggs, vegetarian beans, avocado, cheese; served w/chips and salsa fresca) - $10.85 2. Potato, Egg, and Cheese Burrito - $9.75 3. Steak and Egg Burrito - $11.75 4. Chorizo, Egg and Cheese Burrito (Served with sour cream,) - $11.75 All breakfast burritos are made with three eggs; served with chips and salsa. A breakfast burrito here will run you anywhere from $10 - $12; did I mention overpriced? Just across the street is a place I used to frequent quite a bit. I won't mention its name but it rhymes with L'aco T'oco. (They don't offer burritos, nor are they open for breakfast BUT a taco will run you a mere $3 - $5, less if you catch a special; opens @ 11am.) I was somewhat tempted to stop by there but the Orange Inn had been bookmarked for sometime and it was time to give them a shot! The customer service I received from Alex was good but there was an older lady that was working behind the counter who was a bit more stand offish. She seemed cordial enough with the regulars but lacking what I could only describe as sincerity. Maybe she was having a long day or simply just tired. Nevertheless, her funky vibe was a bit off putting. I briefly interacted with her and it was just "flat," for the lack of a better word without sounding too harsh. People watching is a great way to pass the time, I picked up the habit after hours & hours of café sketching; I'm usually traveling with a sketchbook under my arm or have at least a couple in the car. Prior to this, I was going to give service a four star rating mostly in part to Alex. - "Mahalo bruddah!" The highlight of the meal was the Almond Croissant, complimented with the mocha, along with Alex's customer service. A couple of ideas why Orange Inn is crowded. 1. Faithful locals 2. Tourist The Orange Inn has a local, beach shack charm to the place but it lacked that beach-like, laid back kind've aloha from most of the patrons there. (Well, in their defense, we are deep into South OC territory where people don't fart, they "fluff," and do so with a sense of entitlement; it's true, dah'ling!) Would I come back? Sure, the almond croissant was good, maybe stick to the baked goods. A breakfast burrito?... 'Probably not, after this visit.
