Walked by this space a dozen times and finally stopped in for a coffee. They roast the beans on site - we've smelled them on our morning walks and always smells yummy so wanted to try. The space is huge but not cozy... just a bunch of the same size wood tables and chairs. Display case is old and not very eye appealing but they did offer a few variety of pastries. I love Guatemalan coffee and noticed it was one of their brews so chose a small to go. Unfortunately, it was jus okay and ordinary not the usual maple and sweet nutty under tones. Very disappointed they quit putting fruit in their smoothies. Now it's just fruit juice and ice which technically is NOT a smoothie! It was only a banana, cheapest fruit you can but now it's an ICEE. We had a terrible experience we went over this morning to try out this coffee place we had a dog and baby and sat down at a table outside to try to pull up the menu there were no other customers inside or out and the employee came out and told us the table was for customers only we told him we hadent come in because we had a dog and he didn't apologize at all just said we could have come in with the dog which is generally not allowed in food establishments. I started working in the area recently and have enjoyed exploring downtown Campbell more. Many of my coworkers grab their coffees, pastries and breakfast burritos from Orchard Valley, so they were on my radar for a few months. Now that I've gotten around to checking out most of the downtown area, I'm happy to say Orchard Valley has become one of my local faves. I'll either have a regular coffee, whatever is their drip for the day, or I grab a latte. If I'm not mistaken, they make all or at least most of their baked goods in house. I've even brought home some to share with the famz. Our faves are the scones (blueberry or lemon) and muffins (cinnamon sugar or banana nut). I took one star off because the last two times I picked up pastries there were a couple that were pretty overdone. I'm so glad I finally got around to giving them a try. They are now my go-to when I need a pick me up during the long workday. :-) read more

I stopped in here when I was driving home from my office. I had an artichoke quiche. It was ok. Service was fine. It's a good spot to sit and enjoy a treat or a beverage. There are lots of seats and tables available so you can stop here and get some work done if you need to. It's close to a lot of shops in Downtown Campbell. Excellent little coffee shop in downtown campbell. The street is closed off to allow for additional outdoor dining space for the restaurants so parking is a bit tough. This coffee shop is very large and i'm excited i discovered a place where i could sit down and have a coffee for when the pandemic ends. I got the zebra mocha and it was delicious. Great location but that's it!! The coffee taste was terrible. Tables and floor were everything unclean and old furnitures... Is the kitchen clean? Waited for my banana muffin, I couldn't find it, but waved the bag at me like I was an idiot. Ease up. Clearly not in the mood to deal be with people at work. Terrible place, terrible service. My wife and I went for our Saturday morning coffee and ordered two Lattes in "mugs" to drink at the place. The barista girl poured it in paper cups and when I mentioned that we wanted it in mugs, she literally dumped the latte in paper cups into the mugs and all over the counter and some splashed on me!! When I objected and asked what the attitude was about, she said she didn't do it on purpose and her hands were just shaking!! I complained to the Chinese owner and she offered me a very casual sorry and blamed the incident on poor cashier guy being new and not flagging the "mug" request. No response to the rude and extremely unprofessional behavior of the barista girl. I attached her picture here so you can be careful she doesn't pour coffee on you. Horrible, Horrible place. I met my friend on a warm Saturday morning and decided to walk to downtown Campbell to just hang out. We were in desperate need of coffee so we narrowed it down to Starbucks or Orchard Valley Coffee. I hadn't gone to Orchard Valley for almost 2 years so I wanted to see how it is. I would say Orchard Valley Coffee is probably one of those places spoken about when you ask a genuine resident on where to get coffee. And it's not always because of the quality of coffee. Cleanliness (4/5): They definitely have a huge lobby. And I will agree with Yelpers who strongly encourage the establishment to renovate or update its apparence. I do love the homey and cozy vibe you might feel - you automatically know it's a hometown coffee shop. The lobby and condiment bar were clean, but there were opportunities in cleanliness behind the bar. I think the equipment just needed some minor updates. Customer Connection (3/5): There were three staff members working (cashier, barista, and cook). The cashier was very nice and pleasant - nothing above and beyond. When an establishment asks for a name i do expect to hear it. I didn't know whether the barista had made MY drink or another customer. Perhaps I didn't listen carefully enough but I was fairly close to the beverage handoff area. I did walt a minute to ask the barista if it was mine but she was never close enough for me to even ask. Service/Product Quality (3/5): As I stayed early, it was a warm morning (86 degrees by 10AM) so naturally I wanted an iced drink. I've been starting to try chai tea at different places to compare. Although the cashier did say the chai latte was the spicer of the two chais they offer (the other being their masala chai), the beverage was more milky to me. The location is perfect and the coffee shop itself is spacious with lots of seating! However, the customer service was subpar and the drinks themselves were far below our expectations hitting rock bottom. I ordered the iced vanilla latte and my boyfriend ordered an iced latte as well. We also got a slice of cake to eat on our way back home. We were disappointed by the lack of coffee flavor we got from our drinks as it tasted like they used the same espresso pucks and used soapy milk with cheap flavoring. The cake was better than the drinks but also didn't meet expectations considering its price and it just wasn't great in general. If the owners do a 360 on the quality of their menu I may consider coming back. read more

It was a difficult morning. My kitty had surgery a few days before and I had just transported him from the 24hr care facility to the Cat Hospital. We needed some coffee and we were in Campbell so J suggested we go to Orchard Valley Coffee (I was thinking HH). It looked nice when we pulled up. If I lived in Campbell I'm sure I would have bumped into a neighbor while i was there--that kind of place. They have a board on the wall with many different kinds of coffee. I tried to order one and the girl just looked at me. I then realized that it was probably a list of available beans for purchase, or maybe they do hand pours?? I asked her but I must have been speaking French and didn't realize it. They had nice big mugs like I use at home, so I pointed and said "I want that, what choices of coffee can I put in it?" She named a few and I mad a mental note of my choice. I wasn't really hungry (stress) but thought I should eat something so I ordered a Breakfast Burrito. First of all, she lied. Not lied, but must have forgotten what they had brewed. I filled my cup with Americano, not hot and not great. I asked for a half pump of vanilla to salvage it. Then the burrito, Dry dry dry...dry, and bland....and cold. It was supposed to have eggs, bacon and cheese. The eggs were overcooked, there was maybe a pinch of cheese, and a half strip of bacon at most. It was in a flour tortilla that tasted like raw flour. All I could taste was dough. There was a side of salsa, but it looked helpless. No word on my kitty, so we headed to TJ's to buy a wreath. OH NOOOO!!! I'm so distraught over my kitty that I left my Shinola bag at the coffee shop. First I scream, then I open my Yelp app and call Orchard Valley Coffee. Same girl. "Hello", " Hi, I left my purse on the back of my chair". I guess I was speaking French again. CLICK. Seriously? I call back and get the manager (I think) Still speaking French I guess. "I ---left----my---purse---on ---the ---back---of---my---chair, finally she understands. "Where?" "On the chair by the fireplace", I say. "hold on" says she, then "not here, sorry" CLICK SH__!!!! I race all the way there anyway, head spinning and thinking of all of the cards I have to cancel, auto-pays to reset etc... ARGH! There was my purse on the chair where I left it. Lots of seating and a great place to study. Pre covid I would love to grab a mocha and find a window corner table (those are the ones with a fourplex of outlets so you are literally next to the source of all power). All the other tables you have to get creative if you need to charge your laptop. The staff have always been helpful and I love that the coffee shop isn't a chain. The interior could use some updates and their plain coffee isn't the best I've ever had but still a cute place! read more

Been here 400 times easy in the last 25 years! Used to be a big college and slightly post college hang. The coffee was ok......then terrible for several years , commonly burnt then wella! Revised organic menu of mixed coffee drinks and great price value as well and bingo! The coffee is again great and service reasonably friendly and efficient and away you go for mostly to go service! Not as popular as it used to be but spacious warehouse environment that's cozy to meet as a group or first internet date or friend hang for coffee lovers! I recommend most definitely! read more

Ever since this tricky Chinese lady bought this place it started going downhill. The first thing you need to know is that if she's the cashier she will charge you MORE for what you asked 90% of the time. I've been there with my family a few times and this kept happening over and over again, always followed by a "whoops, sorry haha (insert smile)" when we called her on it. The second thing is that the customer service is absolutely horrendous, always "forgetting" what you ordered... Also, please save a record of the dates that she overcharges you so this place can be shut down. It's sad that we can't support a local coffee shop in this case, but unless you absolutely hate the Starbucks next door, be as far away from this place as possible. read more

This is a great local spot and different from the nearby chain coffee houses. The coffee is fresh brewed with several daily sections to choose from. Of course you can get the usual Latte or Cappuccino etc. they have lots of great baked goodies, quiche and a lot more to snack on. There are several tables outside and a lot of tables inside. There are a couple of couches in front of the fireplace , winter fires only! The staff is really friendly and helpful. It's a great place to relax enjoy some good coffee and conversation. Yesterday afternoon I was poisoned by the barista. After specifically asking TWICE for decaf in my mocha, I was given caffeine. I had a horrible allergic reaction. To add insult to injury, when I reached out to them via FB messenger instead of trashing them on all social platforms, I got no response back after they had read my very nice note about the problem. I was hoping that I'd get a little compassion. A little "Sorry that happened"...that's all I wanted. But no. They don't care they poisoned one of their customers. Thank goodness there are so many options for coffee in Campbell that I'll never have to step foot in this establishment and never have to deal with their gross, dirty, old tables and chairs that I put up with for so long because I wanted to be nice and support a local business. Good riddance. And your coffee really sucks. And now that I'm reading other reviews about the disgusting customer service, I'm not surprised. Get your heads out of your butts, you awful owner and employees. There are literally 10 other coffee shops within walking distance and you, reading this, should head straight to one of those rather than give one dime to this place who insults pregnant women and disabled people (read about their incredibly awful experiences, too!). read more

I love the study environment. Spacious, plenty of lighting from the open windows, and a variety of seating. However, the Frosted Mexican Mocha and Artichoke Quiche I ordered were not so delightful. The Frosted Mexican Mocha was way too sweet and the Artichoke Quiche was flavorless and look and tasted as if it had been baked ahead of time and then reheated. I didn't end up finishing either. Perhaps I just ordered the wrong items. I really liked the study environment here, so I'm willing to give this place another shot. read more

Stopped in here on Saturday afternoon to get a cuppa. Dave got the Masala Chai, which was okay but really didn't have the "Masala" kick he was looking for. I got the frosted chai which was really sweet and tasted more like a milkshake. I doubt I would order that again. They had some donuts and pastries (I took a picture) but we didn't try any. They place is pretty big and they have lots of seating. It was pretty busy and lots of students with books and laptops hanging out at the store. Service was friendly with a smile. I really like this place! It's big, & there's a wide variety of seating options, ranging from couches by the fireplace, tall tables by the windows with stools, some tables with benches, smaller tables with chairs, medium sized tables & chairs. Good place to study. There's also some benches outside & a few tables with chairs. Generally, not too loud...although there was one day I was there where I think they were fixing something, so it was quite loud periodically. There's usually music playing too, but usually at a reasonable level. Plus, I've been bringing my Ipod in case I need to tune out any loud talkers. Apparently, I'm not the only one who likes this place. Seems like a lot of people come here to study / work on their computer, hang out. I've also seen some groups meet here too. There was one Sunday afternoon where I walked in (had planned on camping out for a couple hours to study) & had to turn around & walk right back out because ALL of the tables were filled. Wah! Parking's convenient...it's located in downtown Campbell on the corner of Central Ave. & Campbell Ave. I'm not sure how strictly they enforce the parking duration on the street or in the lots, though. They take Visa & Mastercard, & there's even an ATM inside! My cousin's friend recommended their breakfast here, but I haven't tried it yet. Why aren't there more coffeehouses like this around here? Actually, I probably just need to do more exploring...since I did see that the SJ Mercury News did an article on local coffeehouses a few weeks ago. read more

My husband and I were going to the farmers market downtown today and were seeing if there were any coffee places near that roasted their own coffee. A quick search showed us this place did. How wrong the internet can be... I hadn't been to this place in something like 10-15 years. They obviously changed owners since. I remember it being decent before but it's less than mediocre now. I'll just go to Starbucks next time. And I don't even like Starbucks that much. And by the way, I don't believe they roast anything here. The roaster looks like they drug it out from the back and placed it in plain sight as a piece of furniture or something. Not to be trusted. read more

OVC is usually pretty good. The coffee isn't always something to write home about in my opinion, but I do like to stop by for a Thai Tea when I'm in Downtown Campbell. Unfortunately they were out today, but I was in the mood for something cold so I got an iced mocha. I actually enjoyed it so I was pleasantly surprised. Went this morning before going to the farmers market. As expected it was pretty crowded. But I was pleasantly surprised by the good breakfast bagel ($4.something) so a plus star for that! It's actually quite filling and tasty so I wouldn't mind getting it again. A few things I didn't like about this place: - Lighting is weird. If you sit near the windows, there is plenty of sunshine coming in so it's all good. But when you sit on the couches or near the middle of the cafe, it gets pretty dim... i mean having a light or two really shouldn't be that hard.... - disorganized and messy: I got my drink and headed over to the sugar/milk/cream station which is near the back entrance. There was milk spilled everywhere and someone was too lazy to take out the ketchup packet they popped... 5 or so packets were all stuck together - ick. All in all, I would probably give this place another chance... but only if I was in the area and had this place to come to. read more

This place isn't as noisy as other cafes, so it's ideal for studying. There's wireless but not a huge number of outlets (well there are but they're all smooshed together in one spot). The pair of leather loveseats are absolutely comfy and there's ample seating otherwise. I love the atmosphere here. I'm giving OVC only three stars because I don't think the coffee is all that great and parking is rather limited (street and 2-hour max lot). read more

This review is just for the coffee. I ordered an iced caramel macchiato. It was pretty good, nothing super exciting, but good. They were really fast at making it too which impressed me! They will only take card with a $6 purchase which stinks if you've been using all of your cash at the farmers market. But they do have an atm inside, so there was a line for that. Crowded! No bueno. Came here to study after having breakfast at Mo's down the street. I came on a Sunday morning, so I guess it explains why it was so crowded. Every Sunday, Downtown Campbell has the farmers market (check it out!!) The place looks huge from the outside, but for a big place like that, I didn't think there were nearly enough seats for people. The line tends to get pretty long, with only one person at the register and one gal making the drinks (maaaaybe it was just that morning that they were short-staffed). Their power outlets are found on the floor. Gotta get lucky with finding a seat near them. I ordered the zebra mocha, pretty good, so I'll come back, hehehe. read more

I went into this place for the first time recently and ordered a medium chai. My chai was great, but they require you spend $5 to use a credit card. I understand they don't want to pay the fee, but I'm pretty sure this is not legal and can be reported to the Better Business Bureau. I will likely not be back because of this :/ read more

The coffee shop itself is big and with plenty of seating only reason for the 2 stars. Everything else is not so good. The breakfast sandwiches were bland the pastries were bland. Everyone eating or drinking coffee here was 65+ felt like I was in side a retirement home. read more
