After visiting their location at Valley Fair, I was happy to check out Tong Sui at the Pruneyard. We went in around 4 pm on a Saturday, and it was not super busy. Walked in, and we were immediately greeted pleasantly. My friend got to try to the coconut pudding before ordering one. She loved her pudding with mango. You order from a kiosk and can specify what you want in your drink. I ordered the Guava Lemon tea and it was very refreshing! I loved the sourness of the lemon and it had a lot of delicious pulp in it. They have a good number of seats to sit at and enjoy your beverage. I ended up visiting Campbell for the weekend and we discovered this spot walking around the plaza to look for a snack after a long drive. The coconut pudding on the menu reeled me into the store and I was hoping it was similar to Melo Melo from SoCal! I ordered a signature coconut pudding and it was very underwhelming. I remember telling myself I'd never go back and make the extra drive to find a Melo Melo in the area if I was craving something like that again. It was very watery and lacking flavor. We also got a peach lychee drink with some crystal jelly which was pretty phenomenal. It was so good we came back again the next day and ordered the same drink again. On Sunday, they were out of that flavor so we had to settle for the Jasmine Watermelon which was still pretty good. I normally never order sugary drinks especially boba artificial tasting stuff but their dessert drinks are a 10/10. I could eat a whole vat of that crystal jelly they put in their drinks and everything tasted so fresh, not artificial at all. I still prefer Melo Melo's coconut pudding offerings but their refreshing fruity drinks gets a two thumbs up! Not too sweet and done just right. New Tong Sui location in the Pruneyard, easy access if you are already there, but can be tricky to find parking other times (there's a garage in the northwest corner). As always, the coconut puddings were light and delicious - I tried the rosie lychee, strawberry matcha, and the mango mochi this time. My preference was the mango mochi but the strawberry matcha was also solid. The rosie lychee was fine, but rose flavor was quite mild. The puddings are not cheap - $10.95 each, and definitely best consumed as soon as possible, but a day or so in the fridge was perfectly fine. I appreciate they provide a nice bag to carry your drinks/puddings. They also have a selection of drinks as well (the TV monitors rotate so watch for them to see all the options or check the tablet/online) . You can order online, on the tablet in the store, or with the cashier, prep is pretty fast overall and the staff works through orders quickly. Interior is decently sized (bigger than some of their other locations) but limited seating, so mostly for to-go. Staff was friendly and quick to help. I got a coconut ice bomb with mango, less sweet ($8.95). It was like a coconut slushie with bits of mango and coconut. Mango tasted fresh, the coconut bits gave a pleasant and wholesome nutty crunchiness. Perfect level of not-too-sweet. For the OG Campbell folks, this store took over the old juice bar and is located right next to Burger Lounge. The young gentleman working the cash register was friendly. I highly recommend the Mango Mochi Pudding. Everything from the fresh mango puree, the mochi, to the coconut pudding was extremely fresh and tasty. The Persimmon Mochi Pudding however was a completely different experience and not in a good way. It was extremely watery and the consistency of the persimmon puree, mochi, and pudding was nothing like the Mango Mochi Pudding. It was almost as if the jar had spoiled... We ate both puddings at the same time so I'm not sure if the Persimmon Mochi Pudding was just a bad batch. Kinda disappointing as the desserts are not cheap. read more

I am a regular customer at Tong Sui and love their puddings. However, my experience at this localtion today was poor. I bought four puddings and was served by a person named Denny. I asked Denny very specifically, for the puddings to be packed with the cup holders because I was carrying them in a car. I pointed him to a larger tong sui bag that typically comes with the 4 cup holder to pack the puddings with the cup holder. Denny kept insisting they'd fit in the smaller bag he was holding up, and then went ahead and stacked them anyway, two in one row and two on top.This was after I told him more than once that I was driving, and that I'd already had a bad experience last time carrying them without a cup holder. He had this passive aggressive look, visibly annoyed and frustrated that I asked him to do again, the one thing I had asked him to do earlier. So I had to insist a second time and explain that yes, they fit in the bag, but that isn't the problem I'm trying to solve. He put them in the holder, stacked them on top of each other again mumbling under his breath the whole time, moving like it was a huge inconvenience and he was doing me some enormous favor. The very problem I was trying to solve is to prevent the jars from sliding out of the bag, because the bag tipped over. That was again not solved with this. I left the store soon, as I was feeling uncomfortable. This spoiled my experience. As a paying customer, nobody should have to face this experience. This person needs serious training on how to deal with customers. I love Tong Sui's puddings and drinks, but this left a genuinely bad taste in my mouth. Tong Sui charges premium prices for their puddings and drinks, but seems to be very stingy when it comes to packing, especially after a customer insists. I hope the manager actually takes this seriously and addresses the behavior instead of letting it slide. This is unacceptable, coming from a premium dessert shop like yours. read more
