    New York Breakfast

Yes their chocolate chip cookie is amazing. Super buttery and decadent, chewy with a lightly crunchy edge--if that's the style of cookie you prefer. I also got their everything bagel sandwich with the smoked salmon and it was pretty good too. Service was pretty fast and friendly. Inside is a bit hectic with the line, but lots of tables outside for a relaxing breakfast or brunch.

Had a few valentines cookies: rainbow cookie, there take on black and white cookie. The rainbow cookie had a nice chocolate coating, was moist inside. The black and white cookie was soft, the icing was a bit sweet for my taste. Overall would look into purchasing cookies from here

First of all...I LOVE Orwashers and have immensely enjoyed their raisin bread, black and white cookies, and their sandwiches, The one star is given for false advertising of the price of their sandwiches. I visited the shop on Monday and purchased their advertised New York Breakfast that I "thought" cost $12.75...however, when the person who took my order...who was also the cashier...and she also was the one who made the sandwich rang me up, the bill was over $16. I said I think there was a mistake, that sandwich is $12.75 and even with tax, it would not cost over $16. She looked at her register...then she looked behind her at the hanging menu sign listing the items and the prices, and then said, "I will tell the manager - that is the price...$14.75 not 12.75 plus tax. At that point, the cashier should have charged me the advertised price...but she did not. Then, I received my sandwich and was disappointed in both the quality of the bagel and the meager amount of lox. I emailed the manager(?) and was given a nice response saying that the new signs with the higher prices were going to be installed soon...just unacceptable as an answer. Obviously, if the menu/price signs were not ready when the computer/cash register was re-programmed...then the "old" prices should have been honored by your customers.

New York breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately not that much salmon and I miss capers and red onion. Interesting change on a classic though. The pistachio crunch croissant was surprisingly very good.

Fantastic friendly service. Too salty of goods. A nice woman helped me and was uber patient with my order. Thank you! I got $50 of good. Bagels, onion breads, and croissants. Cream cheese is $6, a little steep imo, for $2.50 bagels. The bagels were average. A little salty. Nothing groundbreaking. The croissants were terrific. Wish I'd spent the whole $50 on those. Maybe their sweets are better cuz anything salty was too much. The onion breads were too much. Way too much onion. Nice corner stop and nice inside.

If you need a good breakfast spot in the Upper West Side, Orwashers needs to be on your list. The list of breakfast sandwiches and other options are definitely a great way to start the day. (No, this is not sponsored but I wish it was). I got the New York Breakfast and a cold brew. Perfect amount of salmon and dill cream cheese. I liked the onions but kind of wish they were chopped into smaller pieces. Regardless it tasted amazing and I would go back!

Great bakery, great freshly baked bagels, love the authenticity.... But how a bagel with cream cheese and 2 slices of salmon is 12$!, when by itself bagel is 2$. It was still perfect bagel, they one I would expect to get in NY, just slightly hard on the edge. Perfectly toasted though. Been there before and probably would come back Would recommend it to everyone. I love that it's bakery, the ambience and style. Service is also fast and friendly. Oh, they also have great coffee!

The setup is mostly DIY since you throw away your own garbage and etc. But they do bring your food and drinks out to you. They also have a restroom for customers and a self serve tap water station with glasses, which I appreciated. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich. It was alright, but I do think it could've used a little more flavor or seasoning.

The deluxe pho had all the meat fixings with homemade beef meatballs, thinly sliced sirloin, and pull apart brisket. The broth was very unique and flavorful, abit on the "dirtier" side (less clear but more umami flavor) sprinkled with kick of black pepper. Honestly I think it could compete with many broths. The noodles and toppings were standard. Overall perfect soup for a chilly rainy day. I only had some bites of the chicken pho but it tasted clean and soothing. The wings in their "pho" sauce were crispy but a little on the saltier side. Almost reminiscent of Korean fried chicken. Service: It was decent. Ambiance: Generally modern decor. Narrow with only about 5-6 tables of seating, so it can fill up fast. We had to wait about 10 min for a table to open up so we could get seated. One thing I found clever was the modular design of the tables that can come together to fit a slightly bigger party. Very unique!

THE BLACK AND WHITE: I came here after a long day doing booth duty at a summit and was starving from not eating the entire day. Fortunatley the place was pretty quiet since it was 2pm and I got my orders in. For sandwiches, I ended up getting the Favolosa and the Italiana. The favolosa had a delicious artichoke cream and salami that was a banger. The italiana had all your great italian cured meats as well as a truffle cream sauce that made the umami bomb even more umami. So good! Someone order a Hot Italian? Here I am…read more The legendary Florentine sandwich shop achieved global fame by earning some of the highest praise in food journalism for its massive, fresh-baked schiacciata sandwiches. Google their name and "best" and get hundreds of hits, but the majors who crowned them "best sandwich" title include Saveur Magazine, the big one touted by the family; Eater NY, ranking La Paradiso the most elite Italian sandwich outside of Italy; Las Vegas Weekly, who crowned them "Home of the world's best sandwiches"; TripAdvisor, for whom the Italian original is the most reviewed eatery with a near perfect rating; and The Infatuation NYC guides who promise the execution of the crispy, airy schiacciata bread completely justifies the hype. All 17 options looked amazing, so I spoke to a regular in line, telling her I couldn't decide between "La Paradiso", the most praised (even though she informed me "mortadella is just bolonie" or the Hot Italian, which was more my style. So, I did what any gluttonous American would do and I got both. And a Diet Coke, of course. La Paradiso has thinly sliced bolonie for a savory base, with creamy shredded stacciatella cheese, with sweet but earthy pistachio cream, and a sprinkle of toasted pistachio for texture (that I didn't detect). It was good, but I will likely fuggedaboutit. The Hot Italian had thin, lean turkey, spicy and smoky spreadable Calabrian pork sausage, a balancing provolone, calabrian chili honey, and peppery arugula (that they claim adds crunch that I didn't detect). Were they life-changing? No. But I rank Paradiso a 8.8 and Hot Italian a 10. And because everyone is hard-working and everything is so freshly prepared and cut, it's a class act. They should seriously make a sign that says, "Can't decide? Get two!" and then give me free sandwiches on my yearly trips for the idea.
