I have tried many sandwiches here - the hook and ladder, big bird, southwest turkey, the Italian, and the corned beef are all delicious but my favorite is definitely the chicken salad on a hoagie. They also have different meats and sides - like pasta salad to choose from. I've picked up the bratwurst before and it is pretty tasty. They also sell different kinds local things like mustards, sauces, and coffee. My only critique is that they are often out of something or another. If you aren't there for lunch you're not getting corned beef, they carry drinks and chips and such and I'm sure it's hard to keep everything stocked but sometimes I have to settle when it comes to what drink or chips I choose. There was lots of action going on behind the curtain separating the counter from the kitchen, and the wait told me they were making things from scratch. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and a half dozen garlic parmesan wings. When we arrived at our daughter's apartment a little while later, everything was still piping hot as we dug in. The wings could have used just a bit more cooking time, to crisp up that exterior skin, but the meat was moist and well cooked, and the garlic parmesan sauce was buttery and pungent with all that garlic. The pizza was about 16" across and was greasy due to the pepperoni slices (which I like). The pie was basically crustless, as the cheese and toppings are taken all the way out to the edges, something else I really liked. Cheese was bitey and gooey and the slices went down easy. Overall, I'd say this place is a keeper and I cannot wait to return and try other custom-made pizzas as well as their tasty looking subs.
