My recent visit to Oste started off promisingly. The food, I must say, was quite good. In particular, the Sofia mussels were flavorful and well-prepared. However, the positive experience took a sharp downturn when the bill arrived. We were surprised to see a $29 charge for the Sofia mussels, a discrepancy from the $27 price clearly listed on the menu. When I politely pointed this out to our waiter, he was genuinely apologetic and seemed ready to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, the woman working at the front desk handled the issue with a complete lack of grace. Instead of a simple apology for the error, we were met with an excuse about a new menu being printed. We were then "generously" offered a $2 discount, bringing the price in line with the advertised cost. What's even more concerning is that the menu on their website still reflects the $27 price. This inconsistency makes their explanation about a new menu seem even more dubious. The fact that a new menu might be in progress is the restaurant's responsibility, not the customer's. To charge more than the listed price - not only on the physical menu but also online - and then offer a condescending explanation felt belittling and unprofessional. It strongly suggests a lack of attention to detail, or worse, a potentially misleading practice. While the food itself was commendable, the dismissive attitude of the staff member at the desk, coupled with the conflicting pricing information, has definitely made me hesitant to return in the future. This type of behavior and attitude is unacceptable and erodes trust. A little more honesty, accountability, and respect for their patrons would go a long way in ensuring a positive dining experience from start to finish. read more

In the meantime, I've been looking for a safe space to settle down, and thus I return to you with a liminal space just ripe for that purpose. Oste is a haven for all people. Here, you see first dates, fifteenth dates, rich men with their families, gay dates, rich men with their side girlfriends, young love, a bunco group out for dinner, millennials (tons of them), working class folk who've saved up months for a fine dinner, but most important of all, you see... people. No animals. I hate it when people bring their dogs to a restaurant. If tomorrow the apocalypse came, Zombies took over the world, and the sky began to fall. You would find me here, at Oste. Mingling with the manager, a well-dressed, seductive, and (I'm sure) story-filled gentleman of fine stature and shining silver hair. To the user with the username L B. who left a one star review. I'm afraid those who order DoorDash from a fine establishment, are far from qualified to critique on this platform. If you are unwilling to experience the restaurant in its totality, you are 1. a coward and 2. hilariously unfit to be providing any "two-sense." Valentines Reservation Visited this place on Valentine's Day, and despite being packed, the ambiance was lovely. Surprisingly, there wasn't a long wait - arrived on time thanks to an email about an available reservation, showcasing their excellent follow-up. Called to inform about a potential delay, and they were accommodating. Couldn't get the bread appetizer due to the busy evening, and they placed their priority on using it in the pizza dough. Even so, the food remained consistently fresh, and the service was genuinely nice. Food: Margherita Pizza (4/5) - The Margherita pizza was decent; personal preference matters as it had more sauce than cheese. Notable for its satisfying crunch, unlike other places where toppings tend to slide off. The waiter was friendly and helpful throughout our meal, giving us some suggestions and checking on us regularly. We were pleasantly surprised by the bread, which was a unique and delightful twist on the traditional Italian fare, made with rice dough that gave it a soft and chewy texture, similar to naan. The pizzas were decent, but they paled in comparison to the authentic Neapolitan pizzas we had in Naples last year. The pasta was good and could have used more seasoning.
