We loved our experience at OSTE! Service was so attentive and friendly, and the space itself feels so charming. There's both indoor seating and a cute outdoor patio. Street parking only, which can be kinda tough in this neighborhood. What we tried: - Baby gem lettuce caesar - with parmigiana, garlic bread crumbs, chives. It was perfectly seasoned and dressed and with a perfectly cheesy topping! A simple dish but executed so well - Prosciutto pizza - with mozzarella, prosciutto, stracciatella, arugula, truffle oil. Perfection! I love proscuitto pizza and the truffle oil was the cherry on top. The dough was so chewy too! - Frutti di mare pasta - homemade squid ink tagliatelle, tiger prawns, calamari, mussels, Mariana. A great and flavorful marinara seafood pasta! A large portion size suitable for sharing as well
My friend and I were seated immediately on a weekend afternoon. While there were plenty of options that captured our attention on the menu, we tried their patate pizza and risotto al funghi, which both were delicious. The patate pizza was my favorite. The crust was crisp, and the thinly sliced potatoes were seasoned right and savory and comforting. THe risotto al funghi was creamy and rich and a bit on the saltier side, but I loved the earthy mushroom flavor, which complemented the pizza dish well. Welcome atmosphere and dishes with great flavors!
A Tale of Two Italian Nights: Oste is Pure Magic. MASA of Echo Park fell short. After a disappointing service experience at MASA of Echo Park the night before, Oste in WeHo completely blew my daughter and I away. We went in blind to meet a big, chaotic crew--7 humans (including a 3-year-old, 7-year-old, 14-year-old, and a 30-something couple) plus two dogs (one large, one small). By the end of the night, OSTE solidified itself as my favorite Italian restaurant in LA. Every single dish and drink was tasty. We started with loads of warm bread with EVOO, the Burrata Pappa al Pomodoro, and tender meatballs topped with stracciatella. For mains, we shared two stellar pinsas (Anchovy and Margherita), rich Risotto ai Funghi, the seafood squid ink pasta (Frutti di Mare), and classic red-sauce pasta for the kiddos. The drinks were just as hit-heavy: the 30-something couple enjoyed a chilled Lambrusco, the dad of the two younger girls went with an Aperol Spritz, the two youngest girls loved their lemonades, and my daughter and I had some exceptionally tasty mocktails. I cannot say enough about the staff and management of OSTE--they earned every single star. When my daughter and I arrived first, we couldn't find the reservation (it was under a friend's last name, not a first name), so the host kindly put us on the waitlist. Our friends' "10 minutes away" stretched into a half-hour, so we explored some nearby vintage shops. When we checked back in (about 15 minutes after getting on the list), the manager/owner said they could seat my daughter and I inside early so we could relax, sip our mocktails, and munch on bread while we waited for our friends. Then came the curve ball: our friend arrived with a large Labradoodle. Their other small dog was on its way with the rest of the crew. Throwing a two-dog curveball at a busy restaurant could ruin a host's night, but the team didn't blink. They were incredibly gracious, quickly pivoting to set up a table for our whole group (including the dogs) on the patio. Throughout the meal, the servers were genuinely warm, fast, and attentive without ever being pushy. An casual yet upscale vibe with indoor-outdoor seating and a lively, welcoming energy. Between the stained glass windows and carefully selected colorful tiles, you feel instantly transported out of LA. It's vibrant, charming, and effortlessly cool. Parking was a breeze, too--we easily scored free side street parking half a block away on a Sunday around 6:00 PM (though they also have valet and street meter parking). Amazing food, fantastic hospitality, and the best vibes. OSTE rocks! We will definitely be back and back and back and back ... again.
If you're debating on coming here, DO IT! It's delicious and you won't regret it. I came here for the first time yesterday and wished I would have known about it sooner. I met a friend here and we grabbed a handful of appetizers (we didn't want anything too heavy because it was so hot out) so we got the arugula salad, the beet salad, the octopus, the prawns (my fav), and the romanesco. The service was good, I only would have wished to sit inside. We called before we arrived and asked if there was seating inside and we're told yes for 3. When we arrived we were sat outside and it was too hot and swarming with flies. Despite this the food was great and the owner made sure we were doing good. Mark this as one of your new favorites because it deserves to be.
3.5/5 Solid Italian Spot - BABY GEM LETTUCE CAESAR (4/5) Solid caesar salad. Fresh and flavorful. - POLPO AL CAVOLFIORE (4/5) Well cooked octopus... very tender. I don't like olives and didn't mind this. - BURRATA PAPPA AL POMODORO (3/5) The simplest option on the menu and I wish it had more wow maybe with some whole cherry tomatoes mixed in or big fresh slices. - CARBONARA PINSA (2.5/5) I think they are famous for these flatbread pizza dishes but I found the bread a bit too hard (+ greasy ) and not enough cheese to make up for the lack of sauce. - TIRAMISU (3/5) standard I walked in on a weekday night for a seat at the bar and didn't wait long for two people. Street parking if you are willing to walk a block otherwise valet.
Solid Italian spot with a variety of tasty pizza and pasta dishes. The service was great and the ambiance was really cute (we sat outside which was really nice, but the indoor area also looked cute). The eggplant anti pasta was so tasty and fresh with warm, buttered bread. The short rib pasta was quite small for the price but very tasty. I enjoyed the pizza toppings and crust.
PARKING (3/5): They have metered street parking. (No valet during lunch). I didn't have an issue finding street parking during lunchtime, but I'm sure it's difficult during peak dinner hours. At least they offer valet! AMBIANCE (4/5): Very cute indoor outdoor area. I feel like I've transported to another country. Stained glass windows, carefully selected colorful tile, beautiful! SERVICE (5/5): It wasn't busy when I came. I was seated promptly, everything was very quick and efficient. They are so genuinely nice. They are attentive, but not pushy. Excellent service! FOOD (4/5): $29 SOFIA MUSSELS: garlic & white wine. Simple, but delicious! Can't go wrong with this classic. $27 PAPPARDELLE ALLA VACCINARA: braised oxtail with thick pasta. This is the most popular for a reason! OVERALL (4/5): Service was amazing! Food was amazing! Will definitely be back. Felt very welcomed here.
Nothing too fancy. The seating is very casual & so is the service. The food is really what is dragging down my review. The PAPPARDELLE ALLA VACCINARA is a beef ragu pasta. It needed salt badly & overall tasted watery to me. The LASAGNA AL FORNO was actually really good so I recommend ordering that. The BRANZINO was not it.. it's just two skinny fish laid on a plate with some sauce. Not what you'd expect. The MUSSELS were good. Nothing too special.
I can't say enough about this place. Every dish we had was fabulous. The funghi pinsa was the star of the show, but the meatballs with stracciatella were also fabulous. The restaurant is a bit noisy so conversations were hard including trying to order with the server. The restaurant could use some sound dampening pads or softer surfaces throughout. They were also so busy that we had to flag people down to order more drinks and food and did not get quality checks as quickly as I would have hoped. Saying that when our server was able to interact with us he was personable and gave great recommendations. Would be in easy 5 stars if they were staffed properly for a busy Saturday night and didn't seem so rushed and fixed the sound issues.
We went to this place for a goodbye dinner for one of my coworkers. The food was absolutely amazing. My daughter and I had such a great experience. The service was also great. They kept checking up on us and asking if we need anything in the environment was also very down to earth and calming. We will definitely be going back to this restaurant when we are nearby!
To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of this place, and I'm not really understanding all the rave reviews. Is it awful? No. But is it anything special? I don't think so. This was actually my second visit. The first time, my husband and I stopped in for lunch and had a couple of items that were good, but I left feeling like maybe we just didn't order the right things. Since so many people seem to love this place, we decided to give it another shot. This time we came with a group of four and ordered a variety of dishes. We started with the octopus, tartare, and burrata appetizers. For pizzas, we had the Mortadella Pista and the Prosciutto with Truffle Oil Pista. We also ordered the Cacio e Pepe, mushroom risotto, and the Nutella dessert. The appetizers were okay, but the burrata was definitely the highlight. The pizzas were good and enjoyable, but nothing particularly memorable that would have me planning a return visit just for them. The Cacio e Pepe was decent, but the mushroom risotto was honestly the worst mushroom risotto I've ever had. It tasted like Campbell's cream of mushroom soup had been used as the base. The ambiance was nice, the service was good, and the drinks were enjoyable, but again, nothing felt especially memorable or exceptional. On a positive note, the prices were fair for what you get. Overall, I personally don't feel the need to come back. It's a perfectly fine meal, but with so many great dining options around, this just didn't stand out to me.

Ambiance, service and food was amazing ! We cannot wait to go back to the more items on the menu. Started off with a Caesar salad which was delicious as it was made with baby gem lettuce, and then we had the mushroom pizza, packed with so much flavor and the crust was airy and crispy! Then we split the seafood did ink pasta, the portions were perfect and so flavorful! Ended with the lemon olive oil cake. We enjoyed our meal and will definitely we making our way back here.

Squisito! This is the gesture I would make to express my satisfaction. If there were an award for the BEST Italian restaurant in town, my nomination would go to this restaurant. Reservation was made through Resy. Upon arrival, we could sit indoors or outdoors with heated lamps. We asked for the warmest outdoor seating, and they sat us on the garden wall. The side facing the wall was warm as the heat bounced from the warm, keeping the area pleasant and toasty. What we ordered: SOFIA (Garlic, White wine, Lemon juice, and Parsley): A Bucket of mussels with an EXCELLENT broth serving. We also asked for bread, an extra charge, but it was worth the order to dunk the carb into the mussel juice. FRIES with AIOLI - General french fries served with garlic aioli to enhance the taste. An alternative way is to dunk the fries in the mussels broth. FRUTTI DI MARE (Homemade squid ink tagliatelle, tiger prawns, calamari, mussels, and marinara) - A FANTASTIC pasta dish filled with seafood selections. The sauce was rich and flavorful, and the squid ink pasta was superb. BRANZINO (Pan seared branzino, fregola srda, red bell pepper coulis, EVOO) - I don't usually order a seafood dish at an Italian restaurant, but this dish BLEW ME AWAY. I will reorder this in a heartbeat on my next visit. MARGHERITA (San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella di bufala, basil and EVOO) - Here, they call it Pinsa, not pizza. The biggest difference is the temperature in the pizza oven, where it is cooked at a lower setting. Sticking to the traditional recipe, the pasta sauce tasted more like a tomato spread than mariana. P.S. Parking was difficult to find, so we opted for valet, and it was a hefty price. read more

I have been meaning to rate this place for awhile now. For starters myself and family are big pizza fans and have been on the hunt for some of the best pizza that reminds of us our time in Italy. Before we got there we placed a reservation the day of. When making the reservation I had to pay 20 dollars. We did valet parking which I believe was under 20 dollars. It was nice because we didn't have to worry about the hassle of finding parking. Be careful because the guy wasn't going to give us our change, even though we planned on giving that as a tip. Just be caustique of it, because he tried to play dumb. Like I said the man was going to get the tip no matter what. Just acting dumb was stupid. We walk in and it's such a cute vibe. They sit us down immediately. We did sit outside and it was a cold night, but not too bad because all of the heaters they have out there. I think the only complaint that I had was that the initial person was a little rude who came to our table first. Because it isn't just one waiter, everyone is helping. Which I did like! Because they got us in and out in a timely manner and we were never waiting on a single thing. Waters were always filled, people coming by asking if we needed anything. But it wasn't to much if that makes sense? Now on to the food: Appetizers, we got their bread and essentially their squash blossom. The bread is personally pass on, It was just bread with oil. I personally like garlic bread, but all personal preference. I was most excited about the squash blossom because that was something we had in Italy and loved. Only here it was different and they fried it rather than being fresh. So that was new and different for me! The only complaint I'd have of that is that the bites weren't all even with the filling. Then the meatballs! PLEASE GET! Tasted amazing! Dinner: we got one pasta and two pizzas. I don't remember the names of them, but absolutely worth it! Tasted amazing! Pasta was rich and all around delicious. Pizza was light and airy with really good flavor and toppings! I do remember one had a little spice to it, but not much. We got a Cesar salad and I didn't get a picture of it, but it was the best salad I've ever had. I still think about it. The crotons were crumbled up so every bit got some and it was just amazing. Don't go without getting that. Dessert: we got three different desserts, one tiramisu, one chocolate pie of some sort, and one affogato. I thought they all tasted great! Highly recommend. The place is a little pricey, but don't mind for good food, service, ambience, it is worth it. I'd definitely go back if I was in the area! read more

The food the service and the ambiance were all top-notch. I went because I had read that this five-year-old Italian restaurant has the most authentic Italian cuisine in Los Angeles, and so I had to check it out. It was fantastic. The chef came over to said hello. The wait staff were extremely friendly and right there with what you needed, as you were thinking you needed it. Bravo! read more
I like the place , it's open space, the waitresses and the service are great. The food is to be expected , everything was good, yellowtail appetizer is fresh and flavorful, the parpadelle is well cooked, not too salty and not too greasy. The pizza is ok I guess, so are the clams I gave it a 4 star because nothing really jump out to me, i can think of many replacement for the restaurant... the price the flavor... you know what i mean. read more
My wife and I very really excited to try a new Italian restaurant. We had read the favorable reviews and thought this would be the ideal dining establishment before our show at the Orpheum Theatre. For our starter, we were planning to get the roasted beet salad but at the suggestion of the waitress tried the insalata di radicchio e finocchio salad. Unfortunately, we did not like it and exchanged it for the beet salad which was far more tasty and satisfying. Following up our starter we went with the Polpo Al Cavolfiore (Mediterranean grilled eggplant). This was good but not superior to the one at Casa Cordoba or Avra. The bread was soft, fluffy and slightly crispy. For our entrees, we shared the braised oxtail ragu pappardelle pasta and the funghi (mushrooms) pizza. Unfortunately, the pasta was very salty. While the service started out promising, they got very slow and reactive. I had to ask several times for water refills and chili pepper. Once our initial order was delivered we never saw our server and had to ask someone else for boxes and the check. For us, the food was okay but the experience disappointing. We went to OSTE last night for our anniversary after seeing it online, and everything was amazing. We'd never tried pinsa before, and Alec our waiter, explained it was its own special dish. We went for the pepperoni pinsa, and it was absolutely out of this world. The pappardelle was also fantastic, and the tiramisu it was hands down the best tiramisu I've ever tasted. Back again today for lunch and I am never disappointed. The food is consistently hot, fresh and out of this world delicious. Oste is the best Italian food, may I dare say better than Italy and all the social media famous places here in LA. The servers are so nice and accommodating and work so hard, the owner Alessandro is not only friendly, checks in to make sure everything is perfect, helps out with the flow and he's gorgeous inside and out. Today my son and I had a Margherita pinsa (we had a couple pieces and brought the rest home, he had the chicken Milanese which was amazing, juicy chicken and crispy outside but it had the best potatoes and salad on the side. I tried a different salad. The beet salad was cut on top of goat cheese with pistachios and dotted balsamic and pistachio butter on the side. It was so light and fast. A perfectly delightful experience from beginning to end. We had made a reservation and our table of 3 was seated promptly on a Friday evening. It was lively and busy, but not so loud that we couldn't hold a conversation. The host was gracious and humorous, and so was our server. Both checked up on us frequently to keep us updated and see how we were doing. The drinks were lovely and refreshing. The food was stunning. We ordered a prosciutto pinsa, truffle fries, and a Caesar salad, and then a pasta dish for each--the rigatoni cacio e pepe, and two pappardelle alla vaccinara. (Make no mistake, we definitely ordered a lot for the three of us and took a lot of leftovers home.) The pasta texture was a wonderful chew, and the meat and sauces were excellent: not too heavy, not too acidic, balanced very well. It was a memorable dining experience for all the right reasons and next time I'm in LA I would love any excuse to come back to Oste! read more

Came back to Oste for a late Sunday lunch (had to come back since I was dreaming about their pinsa since my last visit). Excellent again on all fronts! We ordered the Caesar salad, lasagna, Viva l'italia (add sausage!)! and fries with aioli. Everything came piping hot and mouthwatering delicious! I'm still dreaming about the Viva l'Italia pinsa! - Caesar salad had the right amount of dressing and the crushed bread crumbs/croutons added a nice textured crunch! - Lasagna- loaded with so much meat/sauce and so flavorful. The layered noodles were perfectly al dente & tender. If you love lasagna, this is one of the best! - Viva l'Italia pinsa- SO freakin' good. Love the pesto sauce. Every component worked together perfectly but adding the Italian sausage was next level tasty! - Fries came piping hot & crispy. Garlic aioli was strong but you only need a tiny dip for some added yumminess! read more

Am I coming back? Yes. The Oste pizza was delicious. Perfectly crispy with tons of flavor, and the rosemary really made it stand out. The espresso martini was the ideal balance of caffeine and vodka (dangerously smooth). The chicken Milanese was tender and crispy, and paired perfectly with the arugula salad and potatoes. Everything felt thoughtfully put together. Definitely coming back! Also, ask for Frankie, he had the perfect recommendations. The owner was also very attentive to all customers and eager to serve and make the experience unforgettable. read more

It's been a long time we meet some place we really love to go back again. This is the place made us impressed by food, favor, staff and atmosphere. All foods were so good. service was perfection....friendly and attentive. the bread with olive oil is a must especially if you order the burrata which is also a must! that was my favorite part of the meal. got the appetizer eggplant parmigiana (good but a little salty) and the mushroom pizza which was tasty. i wish i would have tried a pasta dish, but there is always next time! parking is valet. almost impossible to get parking on the street. read more

lovely lunch spot! i fell in love with the place immediately! the food is delicious and the service was wonderful. unless you're starving, most plates can be shared, and encouraged if you want to try a little bit of everything. it's the perfect lunch and dinner spot for a small party. don't leave without having dessert. cons: the place is small, not meant for large parties, but i'm sure they can accommodate if you make reservations. hard to find parking, because most spots require a parking permit. the place offers valet, we paid $14 plus tip. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time now, and it did not disappoint!! You can taste the freshness in the pasta and it's amazing! The homemade bread is great and I like how the flatbread style bread is a little unconventional. The pappardelle is so incredibly flavorful and the pasta texture is great. I ordered the salad, meatballs, brazino and shared a slice of the prosciutto pizza with the kind person sitting next to me and everything was exquisite. What a gem in West Hollywood! If you like Italian food, this is a spot not to be missed. My friend and I went for lunch and dined al fresco it was too nice of a day not too. It felt like we were at a little restaurant in Rome. We ordered pepperoni pinsa which we both agreed was the best pinsa we had had in a long time. We ordered our baby beet salad with a side of toast and it was such a great combo recommended by our waitress. Finally, the cacio de Pepe was divine. All tastes so fresh. Will be back! read more

the one guy who kept on checking in on our table was amazing! so friendly, welcoming, and personable. i loved the experience & the restaurant was so cute. i did wish that our server was a little more personable though, our conversations felt slightly robotic and awkward. came for a company event and they even brought out a free dessert. everything was so yummy. my favorites were definitely the mussels & octopus & squash blossoms. I recommend any of the appetizers I thought the pappardelle with oxtail was okay, but I wish I had gotten a creamier pasta. we didn't get any pizza (oops), but I really want to try it in the future! the food also comes out quickly. overall, oste is delicious but a little heavy. i would love to come back and try more menu items! read more

An absolute gem! It was a lovely Italian restaurant and the staff were amazing. The interior of the store is warmly lit and has a nice slight rustic vibe. We ordered the prosciutto pinsa and the pappardelle alla vaccinara, both of which were great! Between two people, we had enough of both to take home as leftovers. I would recommend both of those dishes and would be back! A small gripe for me, however, is that there is a lack of parking. Street parking is often taken so that would also be another thing to note. read more
tried oste for the first time for a friend's bday and it was soooo good! but i was so sad when my tortellini came out and I saw that it only had like 15 tortellinis though the main dishes were absolutely delicious, id have to say the appetizers were my favorite part of the meal we shared. particularly the delicious mussels and the savory truffle fries. the aged meat on the charcuterie board was insanely delicious as well. the service was also impeccable. our waitress was extremely attentive and well versed with the menu items we inquired about, and another man consistently came around to ensure we were enjoying our experience. the dining setting was beautiful and intimate for our small group of friends and we all enjoyed our time at oste will definitely be back here to try other menu items! read more

I'm allergic to eggs and nuts - does the pizza or pasta have any or come in contact with eggs or nuts?
What is the noise level? Can one hold a conversation without shouting?
I went on a Monday night, it was pretty full, and we sat on the outside patio. We were able to have nice conversation with no noise issues.
Is it acceptable to bring a child/toddler?
Yes! I brought a 6 month old - not a lot of room for a stroller tho so bring a little one if possible.

I don't believe they take reservations but they have a decent outside area so there won't be a long wait.
