The reason that I don't recommend it was two things. 1. I was charged asking for no french fries but to add more asparagus to my dish, which already came with it. So why add a extre fee. I just preferred not to have french fries and add more vegetables, as I 'm trying to eat more healthier. 2. The waitress was not very engaging she rushed my friend and I through our lunch. I wouldn't go there because yeah, there are plenty of other places where the price is also around the same and the service and quality of food is better. The brussels sprouts were burnt and the portion size are now smaller. read more

Don't go in to order takeout: it will take forever, the presentation of the food leaves a lot to be desired, and you'll not be given a choice to decline plastic/petroleum flatware. The food is okay, but overpriced and I feel like garbage for having eaten out of plastic and being given plastic fork/knife. Never again! read more

They make a very good Dark and Stormy, I was so-so on the Spanish Coffee. Food is hit and miss: the inside of the Pot Pie was yummy, but the crust is terrible. One option was picked and noted by the manager for the banquet room. It was the best option for hard of hearing guests versus the echoing in the main restaurant. I called the day before the event to confirm the booking and table location and both were confirmed) Moving the review down a few stars because upon arrival to the restaurant for the reservation, the manager apologized over and over that they had just received a new booking for 15 people so moved them into the banquet location which meant they chose to ignore their prior commitment to us. In the big picture, this is not a big deal but It just left an uneasy feeling with me from a professional level. Had a fantastic dinner and experience at Oswego Grill and I will definitely be back! While I typically favor individual restaurants over chains, even local chains, Oswego Grill really stands out from others in this category like Stanford's and McCormack and Schmitz. Like the others, it offers a diverse menu, lots of appetizers, starters and salads along with burgers, tacos, and real main course dinners. Crab stuffed salmon, prime rib ($29.99), chicken Marsala, fried chicken and more. If you show up hungry, making a decision will be challenging! They have outside seating which fills up quickly. And a huge interior with rows and rows of booths and a bar area with high tops and booths. We arrived at prime time, 6pm, so took the first table available in the bar area. Our waiter, Z, is also a bartender and he was exceptional. Excellent jalapeño margaritas we're brought out quickly, menu items recommended and questions answered. I went with the buttermilk fried chicken ($16.99) and it was tender and juicy inside with an amazing flavorful crunch outside. Some of the best fried chicken I've had! Served with garlic mashed potatoes and coleslaw, I have enough for lunch today. My friend ordered the sirloin ($24.99), medium, and when it was delivered, the waiter stayed whike the meat was sliced to ensure it was cooked properly. It wasn't, it was well done. Immediately it was taken away for a freshly cooked steak and since that meant we didn't actually eat at the same time, my friend was given a free dessert. The stout brownie with ice cream and caramel sauce was the choice selected and it was rich, decadent and delicious. A fan of ricotta doughnuts, I opted to try theirs which are served with a buttery caramel sauce for dipping. When Z found out it was my birthday month, he provided them on the house. When faced with a mistake, the way a restaurant handles it is truly a measure of their concern for customer satisfaction. Oswego Grill gets high marks here! Add that to the fantastic service, delicious food at very reasonable prices, it's 5 stars all of the way? It is great to have quality dining options outside of Portland. read more

Great place to celebrate special occasions! Quick service, great food and good vibes. Burgers and prime rib on point, tender and juicy. Bison was perfectly cooked, with an option of fries or salad with burgers. Went to celebrate commencement with family, and the graduate received a special card and sundae. Nice touch! read more

There is not a single vegan item on the entire menu. If we were in Texas, I would understand, but Oregon restaurants are usually quite aware that there is a large population that does not consume any animal products. Everything on your menu has dairy, meat, fish, egg, etc. I will be eating there tomorrow with a group, so my best bet is to get a salad without the cheese. Sad. It's a popular place, so expect a wait. They have quite a bit to choose from in the menu. Our waitress was friendly. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and tasted great. The portion sizes were satisfying. Prices are a bit high; most entrees are over $20. They have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, and everything looked clean. We come here often. Since this location opened, it has been steadily gaining in popularity. The service is great, the food is outstanding. I've only had one dish that was not up to their usual standard, but it was a one off. I suggest a reservation for the weekends because it is really busy. We've gotten into the habit of dining early (4pm) or late (8pm) to avoid the crowds during the dinner rush. The Parmesan crusted sole is amazing. The prime rib sandwich is perfect if you want prime rib, but have a smaller appetite like I do. I simply de-construct it and have a salad instead of fries. It's a perfect portion for me. Went there for 31st December for dinner. We were a big group , so got to try a bit - bacon wrapped prawns-4/5. Tasty - salt and pepper Calamari -2/5. They use jumbo calamari, but it wasn't upto mark. Not so crispy on the outside and too salty - fish Tacos- 4/5 ( blackened cod). This is a must try outside of grill items. - New York strip steak- Thai was awesome and cooked perfectly to medium rare-4/5 Burgers- just tasted average. I did take a bit at kids burger it was better compared to Oswego burger -2/5 Lemonade- it was too bitter. -1/5 Donuts-3/5. I like copper river one than this. Love this place. I have twice, once for a work event and another for lunch with my wife. I got the chicken Alfredo but I asked the chicken to be blackened and that was such a bad idea because I'm HOOKED! It was delicious. Their Caesar salad and clam chowder is a hit. The service was on point , they gave us bread while we waited that was warm with some butter (kiss the chef). They are a bit pricey but you do receive nice size portions so it's not so bad. Restaurant is nice a spacious with a patio for the summer days and private room to host events. You can sit in the bar to watch sports which is my jam. You can sit in the main area if you just want chill. read more

Delicious food, fast and friendly service. The menu has lots of gluten free and healthy options. They have gluten free buns available for their burgers too. This rating is for the service and food provided at a private event last night in their private dining room. First, the room is just COOL. Brick wall, natural light, flexible seating arrangements, a screen for showing photos, etc. Awesome planning with Jonathan and EXCEPTIONAL service from Melissa Austin. She could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable, and fast. And, it was affordable! We were a little shocked actually ... ~ 16 ppl had open bar, open food, tons of cocktails and appetizers, entrees plus desserts and it was around $50 pp. Which is *amazing* for this quality of burgers, steaks, etc... I gave this place an extra star because the first two times I was here I loved it. This time may be my last. They play "we're short staffed" while they have THREE hosts at the door! Told us it would be a 35 minute wait that ended up being just shy of an hour. Ok. We finally got seated in a room that looks like they threw a bunch of tables (8) and a tv in what must have come from another out of business Red Lobster from the 1990s or something. I digress. 7pm. One of their nicest dishes is the prime rib and they apparently ran out at 6pm. How do you run out at 6pm?! 8? 9? I could understand that, but 6 or 7?!?! How many did you prepare for a Friday night? 2? The ambience in the hole (back room) is similar to that of a break room at a Walmart. Not that I have been in one, but I've seen them on TV. Lol. The server is overworked and the only one in the room so it's not her fault, but she could be a bit more cheery. This would especially help to ease the upset of frustrated customers. Had the miso salmon- drenched in miso (and 50% of the size of my daughter's salmon in her salad and mine was much more expensive), mushy soggy completely cold carrots, maybe 5 oz of salmon. Took forever to get our drinks. Had what we thought was the calamari appetizer but came out in the odd cubes so it clearly was pieces of store-bought calamari pressed into cubes. I thought Oswego Grill was supposed to be good - maybe a bad night but for $180 bucks (with tip) - no second chances. You can tell the people in the kitchen and the chef who curated the menu that they all care about what was going to the tables! I love the open plan, high ceilings, exposed beams and bricks! Came in for the second time, after a fantastic experience the first. Unfortunately everything started off on the wrong foot where the restaurant claimed my reservation was canceled (two hours before the reservation time) by OpenTable. Well we had a party of 8, so the only option for reservation was calling the restaurant, so not sure why the cancelation was related to OpenTable. Staff also mentioned this has happened before, I'm not sure why they wouldn't send a text notification of some sort so it gives me a chance to share that I still want my reservation. We waited around, but it felt like we were inconvenienting the staff since the only area for us to stand was in their way. The manager mentioned there's a bar, but we had kids and can't all move to that area. They managed to get us seated about 30-40 minutes after the original reservation time, but with two tables put together obviously meant for six people and not eight. Nothing was comp'd for the meal, food was decent, but overall I expect better service/experience given the reservation screw up. Not sure if I will return again. If you make reservations, I guess call again to make sure it is still valid? read more

One of our family traditions is to dine out on Christmas Eve. As most things this year that was not possible. We were pleased to find out that Oswego Grill was offering Family To Go Meal Kits, and had cocktail mixers. We ordered the Salmon Dinner for 4, and chose a time when to pick it up. It was a great value $99 included the fish, rice, asparagus, and bread pudding with instructions on how to prepare. You had to choose a time when to pick up your order. The restaurant had 5 curbside pick-up spots, so we called when we were there, and order was delivered within minutes. My only gripe is that only one thing was labeled, so I had to rely on my taste buds to figure a couple of things, and the instructions were so tiny, I had a hard time reading them. Hopefully, the next time I get to go there is in person, because nothing compares to having all your food prepared and delivered to your table piping hot. In 2020, I was just grateful to have had this and thought they did a good job given the circumstances. read more

Went to lunch without a reservation this week, initially told there would be a long wait for a dining room booth. Soon after we were seated by a friendly server, she took our drink order while dropping off the menus. The place was packed with diners lingering over desert and finishing up cocktails, many of the other diners were older patrons. After a brief look at the menu we decided with the advice of our server on a salad and fish tacos. Tacos were loaded with cabbage, a creamy sauce and piles of pickled onions, there was some fish but the ratio to onion and cabbage was huge. The creamy sauce covered my hand on the first bite. I'd say the flavor was oniony with a hint of cabbage and a few bites of fish, rice on the side was buttery, salsa again heavy on the onion, overpowering the subtile rice. The healthy salad was a plentiful mix of superfoods, salmon perfectly cooked, mountain of kale, sweet potato, beautiful avocado, etc. Service was attentive, professional and well trained. There was no push to turn tables quickly even with a crowded room full of guests. Our booth was comfortable and the interior a mix of understated black tones in a well lighted room. Wish we had time to linger over lunch as did the other diners. Would definitely reserve a table before hand even though we got lucky. Nearly 8pm on Friday and seated right away in a booth. Service was good and food was overall good. We ordered: Seasonal special of the scallop risotto, bison burger, wild salmon, chicken sandwich, and fried chicken dinner. Food came out in 20min and we were pretty hungry so everything was to our liking mostly. The wild salmon had lots of grilled flavor from the applewood and mesquite. The seasonal risotto was flavorful with all the vegetables and scallop was cooked nicely. The only downside was that there seemed to be more veggies than the actual rice. The chicken dinner had good coleslaw, though the gravy didn't have any flavoring and the mashed potatoes were dry Few things to note: Booths are very spacious and the lighting in the area can be dark at first though eyes adjust. Restrooms are a little hidden at the end corner of the restaurant (didn't see any signs for directions), past the kitchen. It was New Year's Eve. The service staff was impeccable. They were very busy but they never missed a beat. They were crowded, but I never saw anything but smiles and may I help you and surprising.
