Seven of us recently enjoyed happy hour at the Oswego Grill at Cedar Hills. A shout out to Jordy who did an amazing job with all the curve balls we threw at him--he gave us separate checks, combined the bill for two of us, answered all our questions, all while maintaining a cheerful demeanor throughout. We are so excited to have this great location on the river back open. The ambiance is a big change from Beaches, but it is very elegant and I love the open ceilings. The food was a delicious and made fresh. My husband had the ribeye and gave it rave reviews. I had the Burrata and Beets salad with squash, arugula, and a zesty lemon dressing, which was my favorite. I also had the jumbo prawn fettuccine, and the prawns were huge! A little heavy on the sauce for my taste, but very flavorful. We had lunch reservations and were quickly seated. Had a great waitress who was attentive. Restaurant wasn't too crowded at the time but I can see it being really tight in certain areas if it were. The water tasted a little old. Like it had been sitting out for a while. My colleague took a sip of her water and pulled a hair out. Food was okay but nothing stood out. Stopped in for a quick bite, had a delicious Spanish coffee and delightful Ahi Poke nachos and left with a smile on my face. This is a busy parking lot, but was easy enough to get in and out of. This place is buzzing on a Saturday night with an hour wait for bar area seating. I choose a booth with no waiting in dining area and the fabulous Ryan served me a delicious dinner. The burger here is fresh and juicy and flavorful and accompanied by a healthy serving of fries. I started with a yummy Cosmo and a Caesar salad with dressing made in-house. I am extremely disappointed with the service my party of four received at Oswego Grill. We chose to sit on the patio on a beautiful day, but it took over 10 minutes for anyone to greet us. In that time, no one offered menus, water, or even cleaned the table, which still had debris from the previous guests. When our server finally arrived, she immediately stated that she needed to see all of our IDs because it was happy hour and we were sitting outside. We were there to eat, not drink, and this is a restaurant--not a bar--so the demand for IDs from everyone felt unnecessary. The first person in our group showed their Nevada ID, and the server examined it for several minutes before saying she had never seen one like that and needed to get a second opinion. She left, and eventually a manager came out to confirm the ID was valid. However, we were then told that because one person in our party did not have their ID, we could not be served anything--not even food--despite no one intending to order alcoholic beverages. I hate to believe it, but it felt like we were being profiled. We are African American, and it's hard to ignore how differently we were treated compared to others. This policy--if it even exists--is beyond frustrating, and the lack of professionalism from both the server and management was unacceptable. We left without being served, feeling both disrespected and unwelcome. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking fair treatment, quality service, or basic hospitality. read more

First time visit. Not surprised by how noisy this location is. Had reservations seating was prompt wait staff quick as well. Placed order and waited a long time. Food finally arrived and my wild Salmon was tepid with the rice pilaf cold. My husband's sirloin tips had cold mashed potatoes and tepid beef. Took a while to flag someone down to mention the issue. Another 20 minute wait and food arrived this time appropriate temperature. Husband said his potatoes were still tepid but everything else a good temp. Finally saw our original server when it came time to pay. The wild salmon entree was overcooked dry fish that did not compliment the equally dry rice pilaf Asparagus was supposedly grilled hard to say some looked blanched some looked grilled. Have never been denied happy hour food for this reason at any other restaurant before. Seems discriminatory! We ordered from here and was told it would be ready by 7P. Upon arriving it took about 15 more minutes to get the order to go. It's partially my fault for not double checking or taking the receipt but when adding up the calamari the ribeye and the top sirloin with extra sautéed mushrooms, it didn't add up to what I was charged. Once I got home I realized it was almost 10$ more charged. Also I didn't get the extra sautéed mushrooms with the sirloin which costed $4. In terms of the food the steak was cooked nicely and seasoned well. The potatoes tasted good on their own and the Calimari was well seasoned. They had no seasoning and portions of them were charred when being cooked to medium rare. The one side you get with the steak some mashed potatoes that were well seasoned and tasty. The mash potatoes here are very good and savorful. I'm not sure I remember what I purchased but it was steak and mashed potato's, can I tell you that it was very good to be seated in a well decorated restaurant and with very good food! Came here for a random weeknight dinner date with the hubby and surprised at how busy they were. We didn't realize that reservations were highly recommended, but we were lucky to find out that a party on their waitlist cancelled right before we got there, so a table was available for us. Our server, Adam, was great! He took care of us throughout our dinner and took time to chat with us. The menu had a variety of options, all reasonably priced. Everything looked so good, it was hard to decide on one thing. I ended up getting the Chicken Marsala that came with mashed potatoes and asparagus along with a Pear & Gorgonzola starter salad. It was delicious! Husby got the Traditional Fried Chicken Dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy, and coleslaw. He is usually a steak or burger kind of guy, but tonight he had a craving for some good fried chicken and this did not disappoint. It was crispy yet tender, with so much flavor. The mashed potatoes and gravy was also on point. We did end the evening with their special Bread Pudding! It was enough to share between the two of us. It came out warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, not overly sweet. Talking with Adam, he let us know that everything on the menu is made from scratch, using seasonal local ingredients, priced reasonably without sacrificing quality. After tonight's experience, we are excited to come back and try out other things on their menu. He encouraged us to come back to try their steaks which are known to be way better than any of the high end restaurants. We will definitely take him up on that! read more

This is the third Oswego Grill location I've gone to, and it, exactly like the other two, is outstanding in every way!!!! I cannot state highly enough how great the food is. The seared ahi appetizer is one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted. I could easily show up for dinner, order three of these, and happily call it a night. Doing so would cause me to miss their spectacular entrees, though. It doesn't matter what you opt for, you CANNOT go wrong here! Everything is spectacular. I cannot recommend the banana split highly enough. I have no idea how they do it, but the whipped cream is the THICKEST and most dense whipped cream you'll ever encounter. I generally dislike whipped cream, but Oswego Grill's is divine, and unparalleled in quality. Service is super attentive without being over the top or intrusive, the dining room as its own signature style that is intimate and cozy without being out of place of off-putting. I visited the Oswego Grill on Cedar Hills Blvd for Happy Hour on Friday and was not surprised by the great atmosphere, the tasty food and drinks or the friendly service, but I was pleasantly surprised when one of their managers stopped by our table, asked if we were happy, chatted about their great donuts amongst other subjects and moved around the room chatting with other tables.
