Stopped into local Outback for dinner, after two days of grueling garage sale duties. My sons stop in here regularly as it's near where they work, for happy hour, and they like it. For us we haven't been there in a while. We sat in the bar, as that's how we got a table very quickly. Getting service was a little slow, as we were waiting to have the table wiped down as well. No big deal. The noise level in the bar was quite low, there were a few people, with a number of sports games on the TVs. We all ordered something different, from the prime rib dip, Alice Springs chicken, steak wedge salad, and something else that I can't recall. All the food came out pretty quickly, and was very fresh and hot. At least the stuff that was supposed to be hot, was hot. Speaking for the wedge steak salad, I thought it was pretty good. Not overdressed, great flavor, the meat was cooked perfectly, very warm. A great dish in my opinion. My wife enjoyed the Alice Springs chicken, she had enough for a second meal the next day. Chain restaurants are sometimes great, sometimes not. Often what set them apart is the service. The service here is always pretty decent. The staff do a solid job of providing good service. We have been here when my husband was wheelchair bound and the staff made sure that he was as comfortable as he could be on that visit. There's plenty of parking as the restaurant sits at the end of a shopping area. The restaurant is pretty big and there are plenty of seats but the booths can be cramped if you're sitting 4 adults. Most of the food here is A-okay. I love their pork chops but without the glaze. It's always cooked perfectly and juicy and pretty flavorful. Another fave of mine is the kookaburra wings. It's simple but the wings are seasoned perfectly and done right. The bloomin onion is a classic but often it's greasy for me and they give you sooooo much onion but very little dip. It's diabolical how that teeny tiny cup in the middle of the enormous onion is supposed to be enough. The chicken tends to be overcooked and dry. Making it tough. Sides are standard. They do the job but nothing to write home about. Overall, you can expect a decent meal but nothing that is going to wow you or give you that memorable experience. read more

Worst Steaks ever! They looked a hundred years old and were cold. I was visiting from out of town...It was a home delivery and non of my grandchildren nor adults could eat them. This place was ehh. We had a large party and had reservations. Service was decent. Nothing too exceptional worth noting. Food wasn't the greatest tbh. The blooming onion was very oily and not really crispy as expected or flavorful. The steak we ordered was very chewy and tough. Only ate half of each. The fires weren't hot, which was disappointing. The salads were great as usual. 3 of us ordered steaks, 2 were great. The bone in ribeye was ordered med rare and came medium. After receiving our entrées was the only time during the meal we couldn't find a server (to discuss that steak). Ordered a steak medium-well, received it rare. Our blooming onion was also received totally flaccid and wet -- we couldn't even get the individual pieces to pierce the surface of the dipping sauce because they were so limp and soggy. We did get our order through Door Dash, so we were prepared to suffer a small amount of quality loss because of the wait, but the overall quality of the food indicated to us that it was just made poorly and without care, not just slightly cooled down from a 10-minute delivery distance. This was supposed to be a birthday celebration meal and the birthday person was absolutely crushed to see the quality we received tonight. We will be steering clear of this place in the future. We have been more than once to this restaurant and find the steakhouse salad is quite good. However, the manager is very unhelpful. When my guest stepped into a hole int he pavement beside the front door and hurt herself, he was not a bit interested to hear about it. When the dessert "cookie" with ice cream which is supposed to be served warm turned out to be cold and rock hard, he ignored my complaint that it was basically inedible. It would have been appropriate for him to have apologized and taken it off the bill. I found the servers to be helpful and kind, but I really am not fond of my experience with the manager. read more

I got the sirloin and coconut shrimp, medium rare. Steak was superrr rare so I had to have them put it back on for a second which is no big deal at all. Coconut shrimp were fire like always. I don't remember if it said on the menu but I had chosen the clam chowder as a side and got a $2 surcharge but the server did not mention it when I was ordering. Also when we got our check, we were also surprised by the hospitality fee. We had to ask our server about it and they mentioned it was so they didn't have to raise menu prices but still doesn't feel right. We couldn't wait any longer after 10 or so minutes so we decided to order take out. Their website was alright. I paid for it and the email said it was going to be done at 810pm (about 20 min). Ordered steak, grilled chicken, 2 kids meals, shrimp pasta dish. It was accurate. At first, boyfriend said they forgot his fries but it turned out it was buried on the bottom under his steak. When I arrived at the pickup window, there was no one on site and waited for 5 minutes for someone to get there. Also I asked for utensils and they didn't have enough so waited for them to stock up. I mean, shouldn't it be already stocked up and ready? The food was ok. Nothing spectacular. Kids finished most of their food. Server might have been under 21 so there may have been complication. Evidently manager's solution was to make customers wait. Forgot coffees, took my steak knife when they gave the food. Bake potato covered in salt YUCK! Server could have warned us. When the manager came by, could tell this was not the first time a customer was surprised by their shitty baked potatoes. Poor beer selection, no IPAs, Ales, Stouts, nothing interesting, ended up drinking a Michelob Ultra, the least offensive of the beers. Manager came by table to see how things were going, but when I started to explain the difficulties, he didn't want to hear it and took off. Wound not accept my help. Broccoli tasted as if it had been frozen and was severely over-cooked. Booth benches and tables are all bolted to walls/floors. If you're dining with a large person, they'll be FORCEFULLY pinned between the bench and table. This must be how Outback culls their unwanted guests. There are plenty of independent restaurants nearby that actually give a shit about their customers, where they won't waste your time, money and patience. We have eaten here many times over the years. I can say that on those rare occasions, if anything was not right with my meal...the managers were quick to make it right. I'd also like to say this is an Autistic child family friendly restaurant. Which is nice to have a supportive business help parents and grandparents to have a happy meal as a family. Tonight I tried the steak salad with French onion soup. It was prepared beautifully and tasted delicious. Grandson had the Joey Sirloin meal off the childrens menu. A nice portion for the kiddos. You can definitely dine here at a relatively low price point (depending on what your order) but even if you order big and go for their best steaks, the final tab will be reasonable and an excellent value. Even the drinks were quite good. We tried an appetizer sampler, ribs, steak, baked potato w/ all the fixings, mac and cheese, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and a wedge salad. Have been at this location with family a few times now. The fillet mignon is usually very good. Maybe we've just been lucky, but the service has been above average each visit (BTW, Caleb is an especially good waiter). This place isn't Ruth's Chris (and doesn't aim to be), so it's not fancy, but the food is tasty & plentiful and a better value in comparison. It's also very casual, since most folks are dressed in normal street clothes. We always seem to go during peak times, but we haven't had to wait more than 15-20 minutes, max. We've been to other Outback Steakhouses, and some are definitely better than others -- this particular location has not disappointed me yet, and has earned its five stars. read more
