Very disappointing. I went today with a friend for lunch. We both got burgers and both were overcooked. I tend to like my burgers well done, but in a place like Outback, I would order them medium-well. These were beyond well done! I asked for tomato (1 thin slice!), cheese and bacon. The bacon was basically a clump dumped on top. The waitress we had was not one of the better ones. There weren't many people in the place, but she didn't get to our table very much. A runner brought out our orders, and we were done before she came over to check on us! On the plus side, when we complained, the manager came over and took the price of the burgers off the tab. It's been quite a few years since I've been in an Outback, but what I experienced then versus now is a complete 180. Hubs & I both ordered the steak/shrimp combo plate....6 oz sirloin, and he got grilled shrimp & I got coconut shrimp. 3 shrimp? Seriously? His grilled shrimp were flat & tiny. My coconut shrimp were actually larger, but they were also overcooked. My steak was about as good as it got, except for the fact that they were generous with the black pepper. Waitress was nice enough, but stretched thin since they overbooked her with tables. We could've done without the table of inconsiderate loud mouths behind us. Hubs' sweet tea was closer to unsweet, and the best part of the experience was the fact that they had Coke Zero. read more

Went here last night for dinner and it'll be the lady night. The greeter sat is down at a table that still wasn't clean, then the waiter took his sweet time to greet us, and then forgot to bring one of our drinks. I tried the firecracker salmon which was alright but i felt it was a very small cut. The salmon wasn't delicate and took some force to cut it. read more

I had a terrible experience at this Outback location. I would recommend vistiting another Outback instead. I ordered a surf and turf (steak and lobster.) My lobster tail didn't arrive with my food and came 15 minutes later. On top of my lobster tail not being served with my food, I asked for my steak to be cooked medium well and I received a overcooked well done steak. When I was waiting for them to fix my steak, my lobster finally comes about but then I'm still waiting on my steak and mashed potatoes. My steak comes, but without my mashed potatoes. Then I had to wait for my mashed potatoes . Unless you're okay with each part of your meal coming at different times, then I wouldn't come here. My mother's rack of ribs were terrible as well. They were tough and not a fall off the bone ribs at all. We intentionally came here so she could get ribs and she just sent the food back and didn't eat anything. Only good part about the visit was that my waitress was very nice. The manager was pretty nonchalant about our terrible experience and did nothing. I value good customer service and it definitely wasn't given. I wish would have just left and went to another location instead of paying for terrible service here. read more

I read the previous reviews and was a bit hesitant to eat here. But the boys wanted steak for a graduation dinner. It was great. I had a steak salad and the rest of the family had a burger, steak, steak and shrimp, and another steak salad. I loved my dish. It was perfectly cooked and was very filling. We rounded off our evening with some of those mini chocolate desserts. Our waitress was attentive but not overbearing. She cleaned dishes promptly and filled our drinks as needed. I told the manager as we left that we enjoyed our evening and if we ever come back this way again we would be sure to stop by. Thank you for making our graduation dinner a relaxing one. read more

Food was on par with most Outback Steakhouses we've been to- that's not what this review is about. The real gem at this Outback location was our waitress, Nazareth. She was OUTSTANDING! Very friendly and attentive. We eat out quite a bit and while many food service employees seem unhappy in their chosen field these days, Nazareth was a bright light who clearly enjoys working with the public! We invited the manager over to tell her about our experience as diners in her station. Apparently, this young woman wasn't just having a good day as the manager said she hears lots of good things about Nazareth and has her help train new employees. Make sure to ask for Nazareth next time you are at Outback in Durham and you will have a stellar dining experience! read more

Ok, so i eat at a lot of restaurants. Im in the customer service industry and it takes a lot to wow me. I was beyond wowed at this particular location. I'm a creature of habit so, I always order a steak medium. The steak was seasoned so well it needed no sauce, and my waitress was phenomenal. Wow, what a breath of fresh air, a server who knows how to take care of their customers and wants to work hard and stay with a company. Dan M was one of the best servers we have had in a long time. Very engaging and friendly while juggling a ton of tables. We tried to go to poorly run Japanese steakhouse first, I'm now glad that they had terrible service, we left and went to outback. It does get busy as well, we waited 30 min but we were prepared for anything after our first experience. At the table we had three steaks, one Cobb salad and salmon. Food was prepared to our expectations, all was great, no issues at all. Again, our server made the wait much more bare able. We will return. Thanks again Dan! read more

We got our order to go. Even though we arrived on time, the blooming onion was soggy and barely edible. The prime rib dinners were okay, but nothing special. Our food was running a couple minutes late and the management went out of their way to be accommodating. Offering a free appetizer which we passed on while waiting on our entrée. Well me living in Texas and all I think I know what a steak is supposed to taste like and I don't think you're supposed to put a whole bunch of pepper on it and call it 13 spices. If you do go to this restaurant please bear in mind that their quality of steak is not that great. You can go to Golden Corral and get about the same quality of meat. I wasn't impressed. It's like the Bojangles of steak they put one seasoning on everything. You'd do better going to Red Lobster. read more

This location was excellently managed and ran before current franchisee Tracy Maio took over. I've been a regular at the Mt Moriah location for years and have witnessed the place go downhill. Previously standing out of the corporate restaurant industry, they boasted higher quality and fresh ingredients. Corners were cut when new management took over years ago. Most of their overpriced appetizers are frozen and microwaved so they can go out faster in order to have you in and out quickly, not caring about the ingredients whatsoever. Front house manager AJ is always red and frazzled and can't seem to lead a team. The service at this location tends to be good, but the bar servers seem a little too "cliquey" --I've overhead details of their personal lives and restaurant gossip that I'd rather not know about sitting at a table, not even at the bar. Over the past two years I've watched my favorite servers disappear, like Alisha, Aaron, Kristen b, Anna, Rachel, Camilo, and Jessica, who were all replaced with less caring and incompetent staff. If I sit in the bar area, it's commonplace for me to hear some kind of manager screaming and yelling at servers, and then walk out with a smile on into the restaurant. The kitchen doesn't seem to care about the food execution or customer at all. This is their restaurant and we're an inconvenience to them by ordering food. I've had amazing service from above servers and Kristen Bridgers handling food errors, but generally the staff seems apathetic and poorly-treated and it reflects in their lackluster work. For a restaurant that holds their servers and bartenders to such high standards it's sad to me that corners are cut, and that the kitchen employees are less replaceable and more respected by the owners compared to servers. They will hand out freebies until the cows go home so they don't lose a customer. Yet these people come back and understand how outback would rather not lose a customer and abuse the system. I've witnessed this many times while dining alone and when I brought my wife and daughter in. It's unfortunate that outback officially blends in with the Applebee's-Chili's group, but it makes sense to me why the most competent, professional servers no longer work there. If you like mediocre, lackluster and overpriced microwaveable food, this will be worth your while. As for me I'll be sticking to fresh food that's been handled with passion and care. read more

I had the pleasure of meeting friends for dinner last night at this location. What a great night! Naquashia was our server, and even though one of us was running a tad behind, we were not rushed. She had great recommendations for drinks, our glasses stayed refreshed, and our appetizer was delivered quickly. Naquashia had a great personality and handled our group with humor and professionalism. (And we can be a needy bunch at times!) Thanks for being a great part of our evening!! One of our steaks had been overcooked, and was sent back. Apologies were made, and the new meal was delivered by the manager quickly. This is the first time going to Outback so I didn't have an expectations for the place going in you greeted friendly and seated very quickly. It didn't take long for our waitress to appear, she was very kind and friendly and different from most waiters or waitress I had in the past. She asked if there were in questions about the menu and food and if there anything in the food we should know about as well as things that are good that's she recommend trying and what she recommend was very delicious and good. The only bad thing was one thing that I ordered and that was the French onion soup . If anyone has seen a kitchen nightmare with Gordon Ramsey the French Onion was like one from that show look at the Finn McCools episode and you will see what I am talking about. But my waitress seen how unhappy for the soup I was asked if I wanted something else for free and told her boss about and he came and apologies as well. Everything else was great !!!!! I loved the food and service. I will be coming back just to get that same waitress for my birthday I loved her so much I wanted to leave her a bigger tip than I left her but I did leave around $20 for her. read more

Let me first say our waiter, Brandon was amazing. He has the personality of Job. Now on to our food, which was lackluster to say the least. My lamb chops were not seasoned properly... It's tasted bland. I also ordered Calimari, which was hard and over cooked. It was not fresh at all. The blooming onion we ordered was burnt to a crisp, which Brandon had no problem replacing. We checked in online and when we walked in and sat down, the hostess threw her hands up at us. We said that we checked in online and were under the assumption we were to just confirm our check in with the app and sit down. So the hostess gave us an attitude about that. Anyways we check in with her and sit down and wait.... and wait. People that came in after us were seated before us. We notice a number of bar booths open and we asked a server if they were first come first serve and he says yes. The hostess conveniently left that information out. Ordered a curbside pickup meal tonight and did not receive ranch with the Aussie cheese fries and when I asked for a cup I was brought a 3oz container - hardly enough for even half the appetizer. I was informed that any more would be a $5 extra charge. The manager (who was very nice) had to come out to explain that making the ranch was labor intensive for the kitchen staff so they could only part with 3oz free with said ordered appetizer. I'm sorry. Making a condiment is not labor intensive. Providing CPR on a patient who coded is labor intensive. Have some perspective.
