Outback's heyday was a long time ago, so I wasn't expecting much. My filet mignon was surprisingly good, though, cooked perfectly and with just the right bit of salt. Our server, Dean, was helpful and attentive. I will be back. (The "smoked cinnamon pecan old fashioned" was a crime against humanity. Unless you enjoy cough syrup rescued from a structure fire, just get a glass of Woodford with an ice cube. And ask for Dean.) read more

Not sure why we keep coming back to our local Outback. It's consistently bad, and every time we leave, we say never again. Got there just after 3:15p for a late lunch. They were seating everyone in the bar area, which is fine with us. All ya Les except 1 were filled. Our server took about 10min to finally appear, but she was very nice and attentive. We told her our experience on the last visit, and and how steaks were full of gristle. She said she would make sure. The salads arrived first, lettuce a bit warm and wilted. The steaks were just "ok". Still some gristle, and we ordered the filet. Ofcourse our bread was delicious as usual. The women's bathroom was so dirty. Out of TP, paper towels all over, etc. meanwhile all the workers were discussing their personal lives in the bar area, so I was confused why one couldn't check the bathrooms. The kicker was the employee taking his break at one of the tables in the bar area while eating MCDONALDS meal. The only section being used was the bar area, so he could've sat anywhere else. I have to say his meal looked better than what I ordered. This obviously was ok with the manager, as he stood in the bar area chatting with the guy. Just seemed odd to do with a bar full of patrons. This location is in dire need of help. It usually seems dirty inside, and odd smells. I wish they could get back to what they used to be. read more

We will never go back there again. For several reasons. First of all my friend ordered a hamburger extra well done it was raw, I ordered a 9 oz steak it was completely 100% fat. And I also ordered it very well done I cut into it and it was bleeding. I ordered garlic roasted potatoes it did not come with a lid and looks like pinky pokes throughout it and it was only one third full. We both ate the salad actually just picked at it. He ordered doubles on all the sides for the baked potato. Instead he got a half of one little container that didn't cover the top of the potato. We spent $65 for food poisoning and also gave the rude carryout girl $10. So total of $75 both of us were dying of pain, throwing up and had the Go-Go's all weekend long. I will never go there ever. And by the way I looked up where they get the meat, Brazil?? They're not supporting USA's farmers. And the ship meet from a different country and then transport it to all the different restaurants must take a lot of time also so the meat goes bad. Why are they getting their meat from Brazil?? That's probably why the meat is so bad. But it's lot cheaper but their price is so high for me and I not able to have a meal. Except for a couple bites of a salad and one bite of the steak which I had to spit out because I cannot chew it. I tried a second bite of the steak it was completely fat. The waiters are not explaining the menu. They don't refill water glasses. They are not asking you is the food okay after they give you the food. They don't ask you if you want to add to the food already served I wanted to order more). They forgot I ask how I want my steak cooked. It is not a place I want to return to. read more

Kinda upset how the to go curbside is handled. I ordered my two simple side salads around 12:30 for a 1:45 pm pick up. Get there at 1:40 and the sign says "Wait in your car we will be right out." It kinda seemed slow and the server on the patio probably noticed I was there for a long while. So I sat in my car waiting for someone to come out like the sign said. And yeah I should have maybe gone up after 5 minutes but the fact that it was EMPTY and my food has been chilling there for nearly 20 mins before getting there is really not cool. I do not suggest ordering lunch to go especially if you are on your lunch break. The only way to get your food seems to be assertive. At least be attentive if your to go customers. read more

It's not that often that I go to Outback Steakhouse, but my nephew really loves their Mac-n-Cheese and I REALLY love meat, so this restaurant seemed to check off 2 of our boxes! I don't know what possessed me to order the slow-roasted prime rib, but I did and it was surprisingly delicious! It's seasoned with an herb crust and served with au jus and a side. You can also choose original roasted or wood fire-grilled. The prime rib was thick and tender. I loved the herb crust on it as well. It was definitely a generous size and I would not hesitate to order it again. I also got the rice pilaf as my side dish, which was good. This particular location is inside a Foothill Ranch shopping plaza with plenty of parking available. The restaurant was crowded when we went and yet the service was friendly and responsive. I would return in the future, and next time I'm gonna get the Bloomin' Onion that everyone seemed to be ordering! read more

My steak (which was supposed to be medium rare) was burnt to an inedible crisp; the fruit side consisted of two orange slices, and my soda never arrived. The only thing edible was the strawberry add on which was a handful of arugula and a sliced up strawberry with some goat cheese. I know times are rough but seriously? Now I'm left hungry and thirsty! My husband and I went for dinner last night. I just had shoulder surgery and it was raining. In the process of getting my jacket on and grabbing the umbrella, we inadvertently left our to go bag on the table. (It was half of each of our dinners.) We realized it when we were about two stoplights away and immediately turned around and I called to tell them we were coming back. They had already thrown our dinner out. Surely we aren't the first to do that. You would think they could save a to go box for 30 minutes or so just in case someone comes back. We had been gone from the restaurant maybe 5 minutes. I went to this location for a late lunch with my grandparents who can be quite particular about their order specifications. The staff was kind, attentive, and accommodating to our every need. My grandmother ordered the Ahi salad and it was not cooked to her liking/she was not pleased that Outback doesn't offer a side of soy sauce anymore. Our server Dean was so accommodating, by having the chef remake it and box it up for her to take home. It's been a rough week for our family with hospitals, cancer, and broken bones. The family was gathering to touch base, catch our breath, and take time out from grief... I wish I remembered the name of the young man who waited on us because he was perfect in our sea of chaos. Service was great, perfect actually and the food didn't taste like a chain food restaurant. Bloomin onion (always!), Baked potato soup, dinner/Caesar salads, salmon, various steaks and ribs - all cooked to perfection. Good selection of wine. Truly believe this location is much better managed than the Cabot Road one. For sure, from the hostess, the bartender who didn't want us to have to wait for our drinks, and our outstanding waiter; all sincerely cared about our experience. We've had poor customer service here (both times from on-duty managers; one a blonde, older female and last week, a young, male) our last two visits. I'd like to take my initial five-star review down as it was from seven years ago. And last week was bad as our entire party had to walk out after being sat (awkward and inconvenient for us -- especially when we were there to celebrate, and hard to understand as you'd think they'd have wanted the $500+ sale we were about to give them). I just have to say The Outback is the most underrated restaurant of all time. It's just DIVINE. I'd like to point out that it wouldn't be totally far fetched to rate The Outback a Michelin star establishment. Excellent service, pristine steaks, the best button mushrooms you've ever had. My waitress even wrote out directions on how to reheat my bloomin' onion. If that's not quality service, I don't know what is. What just happened? One of the worst steak experiences of my life, that's what. Everything was great except the steak. Which just can't happen at a steakhouse. Things initially looked good as the charismatic hostess seated my friend and I for dinner. Delicious bread was delivered and we quickly ordered mac & cheese bites as an appetizer. Those deep fried balls of cheesiness with some macaroni contained inside were a yummy and wonderfully unhealthy starter. At the same time we ordered the appetizer we also ordered our entrees and asked that everything be brought out when ready - no delay between appetizer and entree was necessary. Still, it was 30 minutes after we finished our appetizer before our entrees arrived. I ordered a 9oz sirloin steak with mashed potatoes and a house salad as sides. My potatoes were good and the house salad was fresh and tasty (I even enjoyed the homemade croutons). The steak was a disaster. I had ordered it medium. It was bloody rare, medium rare and medium depending on where I cut into it. How does that happen? Sirloin isn't the most tender cut, I know, but this was so chewy it was ludicrous. My friend ordered the exact same steak at the same temperature (medium) and it was perfectly done and was tender. I have no clue how they screwed mine up so badly. Not wanting to wait another 30 minutes I ate what I could. With my sweet tooth a dessert seemed to be the way to salvage the meal. We shared the towering chocolate cake which came with a raspberry sauce to pour over it. It was exceptionally moist and super chocolatey. Too much whipped cream plopped on top though. I ate more than my share, no doubt. As far as our service...our waitress seemed like an actress playing the part of the waitress who is bored with her job and recites her memorized waitress lines as just a bunch of words without meaning or emotion. Even though most everything else was great, a bad steak at a steakhouse is a bad omen. I've not had this happen at any other Outback I've eaten at. If I were ever to return to this location I would not get a steak again. read more

Server Tara barely checked on us, yes it seemed she had several tables but she was at table right next to us several times she could have asked how we were or seen our empty drinks. My friend and I had tried pretty much every other food place at the Foothill Ranch Shopping center, so figured we'd try this place for dinner. I have tried Outback before in various cities, but the last time I'd been to one must be at least 12 years ago. It's a pretty typical Australian ranch style family restaurant specializing in their steaks. However, since I'm not a steak person, there were other fish and chicken options. I went ahead and ordered the Grilled Chicken on the Barbie and my friend ordered the Grilled Salmon. We were a bit hungry so decided to also order an appetizer....the Seared Peppered Ahi. My friend's grilled salmon was actually very good.....fresh, moist, and very well cooked. My chicken was kind of dry, but that bbq sauce on the side was pretty darn delish. The seared ahi was good too, but the taste of the asian slaw under it was way too strong for our liking.....good, but just not with the delicate taste of the seared ahi. Every time I think of Outback I'd be reminded of the Bloomin' Onion.....always enjoyed it very much as it goes great with a beer.......however, these days I stay away from it since I'm more on a healthy eating phase of my life......and I just found out from the menu that one bloomin' onion is almost 2,000 calories! Anyway, service was good and friendly.......but there is much less interaction with servers at Outback these days because of the touch screen terminal on each of the tables. You can order your food, add items, request the check, pay for your meal (with a credit card), etc. without having to wave down your server. The only thing you can't do with the terminal is complain about your food and pay cash....for this, you need to actually call someone over. It's been about 15 years since I last visited an Outback Steakhouse. While many of the Outback Steakhouses are only open for dinner this location serves lunch as well. I decided to visit here with 2 other buddies for lunch and was lured in by their Walkabout Wednesday special, which is good all day. Walkabout Wednesday Special ($10)- This deal comes with a choice of 6 oz. top sirloin steak or grilled chicken, a choice of side, and beverage. I ordered my steak medium rare and went with a baked potato as my side. Freshly made squaw bread was brought to my table. It was soft and tasted great with the creamy butter. After about 15 minutes my order arrived and the lightly seasoned steak was perfectly cooked to my request, medium rare. Unfortunately the steak was a little tough. An acidic marinade could have helped to soften the steak or a better grade of beef would have worked. The baked potato was perfectly cooked and the butter, sour cream and chives really made this dish stand out. Service was outstanding and our server made sure our soft drinks were refilled and that our bread was replenished. Overall the Wednesday deal is a steal and service is stellar! It's unfortunate the main item (steak), was a little tough. That's the only reason preventing me from giving this place a 5 star rating. read more

I placed an order for curbside pickup up at the Foothill Ranch Outback. It was absolutely delicious we had the prime rib sandwich, Kingsland chicken pastas, pecan chopped salad, mac & cheese bites and bloomin onion. While placing my order with Kimberly I mentioned it was my husband's birthday and check out our bag of food. She took the time to write a note to wish my husband a Happy Birthday. I ate from here months ago but didnt get a chance to put my review in. It was a take out order so when i got home i noticed they got the order wrong. Then whatever food they did give me looked awful. I called to speak to the manager only to find that the manager is too busy cooking, serving or some other job that the manager should not have to do unless the business is failing and his employees are quitting. The manager did actually call me back only to be combative with me. Then told me he was too busy to solve the issue at the present and that i should call back. I called back and this guy still had an attitude but did promise to do a partial refund like as if he's doing me a favor. Mind you, food that I paid for was missing. Well, he never refunded me what he said and I dont care to ever go back there. Don't bother replying to this review unless you have cleaned house and have new mgmt. read more
