Overall a great experience! We came in during a rush, waited around 20 min or so for a table. When seated it took a min to get service but it was busy so we understood. Server did her best, her name I dont remember but she handled herself good. Also the time for appetizer took quite long, so a manager named Jen was able to help us solve that issue and bring us our appetizers. My experience was absolutely horrific. The manager, his name is Harvey, was an absolute ass hole. We had a reservation at 645pl, we came about 10-15 minutes early and the manager told us our table would be ready shortly and that they are waiting for the table before us to leave. We were not sat until 7:40pm and the manager did not seem to care or offer any complimentary appetizer or anything! We order 2 bottles of wine (we are a table of 8 family members ranging from 18-77, I am 24). The manager requires every person to show ID, including my 77 grandfather. I did not have my ID as well as my aunt did not have hers, I am 24 and she is 55. We both had a picture of our licenses on our phones and showed the manager, and he refused to serve us a glass of wine. I was absolutely dumbfounded and could not understand why this manager gave us such a hard time, clearly seeing we were of age (especially my aunt lol). We then continue with our dinner, the food coming very slowly and the manager constantly walking by and giving us odd looks as he is making sure we don't somehow take a sip of our families member. He was incredibly rude and disrespectful, especially after making our party of 10 wait an hour and 15 minutes. I must say, our waiter zach, was absolutely wonderful. He should not be reflected poorly on our terrible experience the manager Harvey. Well, big disappointment I used to love Outback but so many issues now. First TURN down the lights! I felt like I was in an interrogation room. Asked twice if they could dim lights and was told no not possible. No dimmer on lights. They are either on or off. Really?! Who has a restaurant with spotlights? Next food....I used to love the chopped salad. Tonight wilted lettuce and dry. We got the ultimate Great Barrier platter. It was just OK. No real flavor. Mediocre at best. Drain flies. Big turn off. Our family does a large to go order from here a few times a month. We always tip 20% even in the to go section. Pretty disappointed most of the time though to get home and find something missing. They always say they checked everything but doesn't seem to be the case. This week I ordered a blooming burger when I got home I realized there was no meat patty in the box. We came to this Outback and it was 930pm. They were about to close and only people there were a couple at the bar. They were nice enough to seat us at a booth in bar area. The waitress was really nice and not once did she rush us. We were celebrating an event we had just got out of so we were starving and ready to eat. We had wings for an app and they were nice and crispy with nice pieces of celery. We all had potato soup which was yummy as always. There was never any issues when it came to their food, hince making it my go-to restaurant when nobody could decide what to eat. NOW... I'm done with this location. Way below average steak. You can taste the low quality cheapness of it. And I ordered a filet too. And it had fat. Filets should never have fat. Shame on me for not spending the extra $10 for a larger, much higher quality filet at Salt Rock. But Outback was just more convenient. The margaritas were ok but definitely not worth the $8 price. The only good thing were the baked potatoes. Not the best I've had but still very good. I realize we came like at 9pm, but I have never walked out of a restaurant because of service. We were greeted warmly, and was taken to our booth by the bar. It took our waiter like 10 minutes just to come over (he never gave us his name and he seemed annoyed we were in his area. We gave him our drink order and asked if he could bring the baby's food out first and we ordered soup. The bartender brought us bread, not the waiter. We asked him for another high chair so we could stack it so the baby wasn't sitting so far below us, and we had to flag someone else down to get help. The waiter brought us our drinks like 5 minutes later. He never came back to check on us if we needed more drinks. WE waited another 20 minutes before he came over for our order, mind you we have exactly 20 minutes for them to cook it and eat it before close. We ordered the all you can eat shrimp which wasn't all you can eat for us. Our soup came and it was cold we had to send it back. WE had to call someone else over to complain because he was no where to be found. Finally at 10 and food still not on our table, no refills and no answers to how much longer we again called a gal over and said check were leaving. The manager comp'd our steaks and still gave us the food which when we got home, like all this time we sat and the steaks weren't right, the potatoes looked shriveled up, the garlic mash potatoes looked like vomit, and the shrimp was unappeasing. Just had an AWESOME experience! The staff here went above and beyond. The kitchen was on point (and not just a little on point.) It takes skill and dedication to put out a PERFECT meal.
