Outback used to be one of my favorite places. Under new manager, it has rapidly gone downhill. For the second time this year I've gone in, been seated, and that's it....no server ever came to take orders. It would be understandable if they were busy and short staffed, but this was at 2pm, only a couple other tables with people at them in the entire restaurant, and zero service. After waiting and waiting, I finally got frustrated and left to go eat elsewhere. Combined with their failure to honor the $8 all day cocktail special, the decline in service is enough to prevent me from returning. One of my daughters took me to the Outback. It was my first time. One of my other daughters has taken me to the one in Hayward several times over the years. Can't complain. Food is always good. My granddaughter loves it. She would go every day. The drinks are great. You can see your favorite sports on the big screen TVs. So , the ambiance was very kool. I didn't like the kiwi strawberry lemonade so the waitress took it back and had no problem making me another drink without the kiwi! The place was clean and so was the ladies room. What a joke. You can't even get a simple order right. Loaded baked potato came plain, ahi dinner came as a salad when I ordered rice and loaded mash potatoes. 2/3 of the order not even close to being right. Food was good and sized just right for my appetite, at least the one I ordered. So I didn't walk out feeling guilty not finishing my food. I like that because not too many restaurants have smaller portions which often leaves the customer bringing the left over but not all foods are as good when reheated. We haven't gone to Outback for a long time. Sunday we decided to revisit it. We had a great experience and meal Sunday. We were seated quickly, and our server was there within a few minutes. She was helpful with our questions and choices, and knows her job well. We started with unusual named drinks, that were delicious, especially a peachy one (wallabies something). We ordered steaks dinners, with salads and baked potatoes, and raspberry cheesecake for dessert. Everything was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Thank you for a great experience and meal. We came here for a family dinner, and while our server (Christian may have been his name) was really cool and attentive, the Ribeye steak I ordered tasted like it came out of a microwave instead of fresh off the grill. The mash potatoes were delicious as well as the mac n cheese. My son enjoyed his chicken tenders but his fries were not fresh. I am just very sad about my steak because I love a good, fresh ribeye but that was giving airfry'd and microwaved. read more

Ordered DoorDash yesterday- center cut sirloin cooked medium rare with a sweet potato and steamed broccoli. The sirloin was burnt to the point of being hard to cut. It was rock hard where it's black. Cooked so long on that one side it wasn't even browned on the other side. The pink wasn't in the middle it was on that uncooked side. So most of the steak was brown instead of pink. Really uneven cVery disappointed with the meat. Cooked to medium or medium well rather than what I asked for. Broccoli and sweet potato were good. That's the two stars. read more

Outback has lost its mojo. The drinks are good!!! I had the strawberry kiwi Rita and it was on point. I originally ordered the salmon with shrimp with side of steak Mac & cheese and Cobb salad. The salmon was over cooked and Mac & cheese was ok. My fiancé enjoyed the Mac. However, he ordered the porter house steak and said it was terrible. To replace my salmon I ordered the prime rib sandwich. Definitely WAS NOT tender, but was ok. Appetizer, the fried mushrooms are on point! The fried shrimp were too salty. My recommendation, Keep driving unless you want a good cocktail. ** all servers were really sweet! I totally forgot to add, the DAMN TABLE VIBRATES!!!! All of the food was good, but my order came with melted ice cream, they forgot my mashed potatoes and there were hand sanitizer white packets in my food. I would not recommend ordering DoorDash or any type of "to go" from them.. In fact they should not even do "to go". they should just do dine in only. clearly they didn't wanna order the proper containers to store the food, presentation was terrible and I was only refunded three dollars by DoorDash. The staff was incredibly polite which I appreciated we came in for happy hour as a group of 4. We were quickly served drinks. Their $5 happy hour menu is a pretty good deal. Unfortunately we sent back the kookaburra wings because they were too salty. One of my friends is doing the Keto diet/life style and the waiter was knowledgeable and was able to provide menu suggestions for her which was nice. There weren't any keto friendly items on the happy hour menu but it wasn't a big deal. Their happy hour also have a variety of $5 drinks. On this day we went with the Aussie rum punch, strawberrykiwi-rita and blue berry martini. There were no complaints regarding the drinks. The onion blum was almost perfect, a little salty but ok for a shared item. The aussie fries were your typical melted cheese bacon bit fries nothing special but were still good. Okay my daughter wanted to come here for her birthday. So we went, while only one of the people in our group didn't enjoy their food the rest of us had no complaints. However, my daughter the bday girl had stuff floating in her lemonade which had to be replaced,then the free sundae they give for birthdays she ended up pulling some type of plastic out her mouth from eating it . I've been to this Outback twice in the last few months and both times have not been good. Both our wait staff were not very friendly and need customer service training. For instance last night the waitress came over and asked how things were but didn't wait for us to respond, it wasn't really a question more of a statement "How is everything " as she is walking past. The food was mediocre, I do see why people have left negative comments. There were a few good points. Some of the staff the brought out the food were friendly and smiling. I hadn't been to Outback Steakhouse in about two years since I no longer live near one. Yesterday, I was in the Pittsburgh area and decided to stop by. When we arrived, we gave our name and number, and a man--possibly the manager--told us the wait would be about 5 to 10 minutes. While waiting, we sat at the bar and got drinks. It looked like they were short-staffed because the same man seemed to be bartending as well. The wait ended up being longer than expected, but we were eventually seated. Our server asked if we were ready to order, and I asked about the pork chops--the main reason I came. Unfortunately, she told me they had been removed from the menu over a year ago, without offering any explanation. I was really disappointed because that was the dish I'd been craving. We ordered a Bloomin' Onion as an appetizer, which was great. However, I noticed we never received the complimentary bread. We ordered our entrees, and I chose the three-course meal. Even by the time we received our salads, we still hadn't gotten the bread. We had to flag someone down to ask for it, and it finally arrived just before our main dishes. Despite these issues, the food itself was good. We ended up taking our leftovers and dessert to go because we had ordered too much. That said, I'm not sure I'd return unless they bring back the pork chops with the creole marmalade. Also, this location could really benefit from hiring more staff. read more

I don't know how this sleazy place maintains 3 stars. The manager is horrible and lacks all customer service skills, along with his staff. They need a whole new team in the this location. I really like Outback and keep giving them chances to improve service but this location fails every-time. I went here on 2/23, although the restaurant was empty, the manager said it was a 10 min wait, ok, no problem. The manger calls for another EE to come to the front. This EE was on his phone the entire time. After waiting about 20 mins, i inquired about being seated. He said Oh, I didn't know you were waiting to be seated, we don't have a wait. He immediately seated us. We then sat another few minutes. There was one other party in the bar area who had already ordered. The bartender was our waitress, she never acknowledged us and continued laughing and chatting with what appeared to friends at the bar. My friend and I kindly got up and walked out. We made a quick decision to have our date night at Outback last Friday and we were very pleased with the food and service. For food we really enjoyed how one steak came with two sides. We ended up getting loaded baked potato and a salad. Which was really good! We could have done without the blooming onion as an appetizer, but it was still very good. To be quite honest, we've received some of the best customer service we've had in a while from a server named Lupe. She always greeted with a smile, regularly checked in, and overall had a great personality with her customers. Protect her at all cost!
