Ordered takeout last night. I used to be a big fan of Outback years ago when it was new and they were making a name for themselves. The last few times I haven't been impressed at all. Last night I ordered the Queensland chicken and shrimp. The portions are smaller, which I get. It's easier to shrink the portion than reprint menus. I can accept that. Companies are in business to be successful and profitable. The issue I had with last night's meal was the flavor. My meal had a "Chipotle" taste. I cannot imagine how the spice mixture would ever change. Alfredo wasn't dominant either.aybe they used cheaper or less cheese. I don't know. Just being honest. Four (4) stars for food. consistently good. We have had the sirloin steak, always good, lamb, shrimp, pork, and our favorite the wedge salad and the baked potato. One star (maybe it should be more) deleted for the wait,. Without reservations , on a weekend, prepare to wait 1.5 to yes, even 2 hours, unless you are there very early. I mean, like 5:15 PM.. That is our cutoff for a Saturday night. With call ahead seating you can get there later, but there will still be a wait, we were told 15 minutes but it was more like 30 minutes the couple of time we have done this. Last night, Valentine's Day, we had call ahead seating for 5:45 PM. We got there a bit early but when I peeked inside the door I knew there was NO WAY. There were more people in there standing than I have ever seen. You could not even see the restaurant . I asked at the door and was told with the call ahead seating the wait would be at least one hour. We wait one hour or more for no food! My complaint is that why do they tell you the wait will be short (on the website) when in fact there is no way they can accommodate the number of people they have signed up for call ahead seating? Even if you were seated, who can eat a leisurely dinner, which you would expect to do on Valentine's Day, with so many people packed into the front of the restaurant? It's hard to imagine you would not be rushed to eat as fast as possible. Advice: If you want to eat there on a weekend, either get there by 5:15 PM, or make a call ahead seating but expect to wait up to 30 minutes. Was talked into going there last night with my friend against my better judgement but I was pleasantly surprised. I remember this place being very low quality years ago but it seems they have stepped their game up. I was set on getting prime rib since there aren't many places to get a good cut in the Raleigh area but sadly they were sold out by the time we got there. I was looking for a second choice when I noticed they offer garlic butter as a topping to their steaks and they had a Filet on the menu. I was sold. I ordered the 6oz filet Med Rare with the garlic butter on top and it was as good as any of the best steaks I have ever had. Cooked perfectly and tasted so incredible. I am very, very surprised. A baked potato on the side with butter cheese and bacon just made it that much better. Service was good as well. Will def. return. read more

So my family ordered takeout pickup from outback and it was 30 wings for 29.99 something told me to count my wings. Lol they shorted me a whole 10 wings. I could maybe see being short one or two wings but 10 is a big difference. Then we ordered a steakhouse salad which has pecans and steak. the salad has only one pecan throughout the entire salad. No steak anywhere to be found. Cold bottom of the barrel fries. The kicker of all this is, we tried to originally get the food delivered but for this particular time the person who answered the phone said they don't deliver to my address. But three weeks ago they did. on my way home from picking up the food an Outback delivery vehicle drove pass me as I turned in. Now they are bringing a replacement meal but it's sad that i had to count my chicken. read more

Too inconsistent. I love a blooming onion and a steak from Outback and when I lived in Cary I would order from that location once every few months as a treat. However this location is too unpredictable- I have gotten onions that are all skin and steaks that are burned on the outside yet almost raw in the middle, which I am unsure how that is even accomplished. When I pay over $20 for any meal I expect the restaurant to delivery quality but if it's cool at home or this outback I am going to stick with grilling at home. read more

Same dining experience as just about any Outback Steakhouse. It's a moderately priced steakhouse so you will get moderately tasty steaks. The service varies with who happens to be working there. For the most part, it is OK. Just don't let them seat you near the bathrooms because the urinal cake smell is a bit strong in that area. read more

My husband dined in tonight on his way home and was very happy with his steak and potato, as usual. He brought home a dinner sized house salad for me, topped with steak, and with the tangy tomato salad dressing. Truth be told I CRAVE this salad and was so excited. But it was such a disappointment. It was, in my estimation, entirely iceberg lettuce (by the way, who eats iceberg lettuce anymore? C'mon, man!!) and, at that, the lettuce was filled with the lettuce "core" or whatever you call it . . . the part you normally throw away. Big chunks of crunchy lettuce with no flavor and zero nutritional value. Such a disappointment. We come here often and are rethinking that. read more

Ordered delivery and had special diet restrictions, which is annoying. Manager Nicole took the time to listen and ensured that the food I ordered arrived at my home hot fresh and to the t as to what I had asked for. Outback may be a chain restaurant but it is a restaurant with seriously high standards that were set in place many years ago. Discrimination is alive and well at OUTBACK STEAKHOUSE in 2016!! As a 54yr old white male military veteran - I am in total shock that this chain has figured out how to discriminate in 2016. Let me start by stating - The food was outstanding The service even better And the free appetizer and desert courtesy of management goes a long way - HOWEVER - it does not make up for a HORRIFIC experience. Our best friends wanted to celebrate his birthday at OUTBACK with my wife and me. We arrive at the busiest OUTBACK in North Carolina on the busiest day of the week (Saturday) at 5:30p - the hostess inquires how many and we reply 4. She hands us the pager/buzzer thingy and says 25-40 minutes. I think to myself - great we beat the dinner rush. 40-45-50-55- ONE HOUR LATER - we check with the hostess and she informs us that here are still many parties ahead of us. There are two parties of 30 which will take up most of the seating - but if we want the seating in the bar - 10 booths - are first come first serve. And I wonder how so many could be ahead of us? Now I spent my college career working in a private restaurant that makes OUTBACK look like fast food - so I know the lingo and strategies of operating a store similar to OUTBACK. ACCEPTING 2 parties of 30 on the busiest night of the week? Then having 10 booths that are not used for the wait list but rather - first come - POOR MANAGEMENT, EVEN WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE! HOUR +5, +10, +15 +20 when the couple standing (yes we are standing the entire time, watching other eat their food.) next to us grabs a manager and expresses to her that they have been waiting and seeing others arrive after them and be seated. She pivots to booths in the bar are first come - but the couple pushes back and states they think that because they are only 2 that the staff is waiting for a 2 top (lingo for table that only seats 2) to become available. Again the manager apologizes and assures them that is not what is happening. Unfortunately, she tells them, that anyone that uses "call ahead seating" goes above them on the wait list! She gets their name and pager number - goes to the hostess stand and VOILA grabs them and escorts them to a table. While she is at the hostess stand I ask how long they have been waiting and he tells me an hour and a half, and that we walked in right behind them. As they head to the table he looks at me and says "GOOD LUCK"! So I find the outback website on my phone and call the number - the hostess answers and I say - "I would like to call ahead for 4 please" to which the reply was "I am sorry sir we are not longer taking call ahead seating for tonight"! OK that did not work - so now I grab the manager and ask "Hey we have been waiting an hour and a half, walked in right after that couple you just sat, so is the secret to getting a table to rip your ass?" She apologizes, gets our name and pager number, grabs another manager - clears a table and VOILA now we are seated. Please note that neither our, or the couple next to us, ever get our pager/buzzer thingy alert. The secret was getting on the manager. The DISCRIMINATION device in place is CALL AHEAD SEATING - see OUTBACK wants regular customers that show up good times and bad, customers that consume large amounts of alcohol, which they assumed we would waiting for over an hour. Sorry, we didn't drop a dime while we waited. So Outback designed a system where "They don't take reservations" but "Call ahead seating gets priority". So regulars know to call mid day and arrange their "reservation" which is not really a reservation. Now OUTBACK can discriminate against the casual customer that does not know - because they have enough business. They do not need or want the "drop in only on Saturday when celebrating something special diner, unless you bring 30 friends with you, and, call ahead. To make up for the "inconvenience" of standing, waiting and hour and a half - they comp you an appetizer, but make up for it by charging the industry high of $3.00 (plus tax where applicable) per soft drink!! Finally, the state of North Carolina has the largest military population of all 50 states, and one of the largest military retiree populations. There are 22 MILLION veterans alive in the US. When I go to pay for my meal, the signature strip on my credit card has "ASK 4 ID" and I put my Veterans ID card with my credit card and most national chains discount my meal between 10-25%, one national sitdown chain discounts the ENTIRE TABLE 50% every time we visit. NOT OUTBACK, the waitress returns to the table and sheeplessly says, with the manager standing there, "I am sorry sir but we do not offer a Verterans discount, except sometimes around Veterans day" To which I replied "it is only there because the credit card states ASK 4 ID!" Other Outback restaurants I have visited have used a senior discount or something else to whack 10% off in appreciation of my service - but not this store! read more

This is a WONDERFUL place a family dining experience!!! Yesterday, my husband and I were celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary and we had steak on the brain! We'd decided to order out and pick it up. My husband ordered two Outback Specials 9oz Steaks with two sides items. My husband arrived home with our food and it was still hot off the grill! I sat down and cut into that steak....It was like cutting butter with a hot knife! It was exceptionally well cooked, flavorful, and by far the best steak I've eaten since relocating to North Carolina!! I'd placed a phone call and spoke with Mr. Trace and Mr. Brandon (managers) because I had to inform them both ......The cook had prayed over these steaks because they'd truly have been sent from the heavens!! This is the second time I have been to this location. The first time was not a pleasant experience, but enough time had passed to where we felt like we could give it another chance. Needless to say, we were disappointed again. We were first sat down at a table by an oblivious host with a dirty dish stuck to it. We also noticed there was a table of staff members two rows behind us who were talking loudly and looking at their phones during a downtime. Our waiter was friendly but that was the only positive thing about our visit. When we received our food my Philly cheesesteak was soggy and much smaller than I was anticipating it to be and my husbands burger wasn't cooked properly. Quick and friendly service every time we come here. The food was cooked as ordered too. We came on a busy Wednesday night for the steak special but the wait was short for a table. Went here for my birthday dinner. Poor service - had to ask twice for water, waiter had to ask again for my drink order, had to ask for the bread that normally comes with meals. My wife got the wrong order but took it anyways so we could eat at the same time. They 'only' charged for the original order, and she didn't get what she originally wanted! We won't be back to an Outback - too often that an order is wrong or steak not cooked correctly. Very disappointing! read more

Last night I attended a dinner for a local charity at the Outback Steakhouse on Creedmoor Road in Raleigh. Our group of 50 sat in their private party room that has several TV's that showed a presentation. The appetizers and entrees were brought out family style and all were delicious - we had Ahi tuna, shrimp skewers, Bloomin' Onions, sliced steak, mashed potatoes, salmon, asparagus, and the cutest individual strawberry shortcakes in glass jars. The servers were amazing - they were friendly, professional, and fast. This is the perfect place to have a private event at no extra cost - you couldn't hear anything from the other part of the restaurant. I think it would be ideal for bridal/baby showers, graduation dinners, work dinners, or big family gatherings. read more

In the olden days you could depend on Outback to give you a consistent quality if not a halfway decent steak. Remember back when all the servers wore those crazy pins? I'd rather they go back to the surfboard on the wall days then to try and pretend to be an upscale steak house. The baby back ribs last night didn't fall off the bone, they were the bone. Our server, Hollie, was quick and attentive and our food came out quickly and well cooked. There was a very minor service blip (not even a problem) and everyone was incredibly keen to make sure that our experience was fantastic and the blip was resolved. I just want to start off by saying sometimes, the staff makes the restaurant. I have always gone to Outback for a simple steak, but this time was different. We went during dinner on a Saturday, so obviously there was a wait. But the came around with appetizer sample. After siting down, our waitress Stephanie C. took such good care of us, refills, food delivery, pat on this arm, knelling down to make proper eye contact and even checking in throughout the meal. I know that's what they are trained for, but sometime, some people have a nack for it.I wish we could rate the staff separately, cause the 4 stars was for the food and the staff gets 4 stars as well. Word of advice! Do call ahead during the rush hour times. I always order the Outback Special which is the cheapest but best steak on the menu. This location is always great with service and the food is always perfect! The only thing that I say stay away from is the Sangria Pitcher! They fill it with ice that gives the illusion of more, sent it back to get it without ice and it was 1/3 full LOL. Total rip off! Everything else is wonderful... Don't bother...it's normal to wait 30+ minutes but waiting for a drink at the bar while the bartender chats with a local is poor customer service. Waited 10 minutes and none of the three bartenders even made eye contact. 1 was handling the server drinks so I get that but the guy with the glasses was talking....truly needs to learn customer service skills....acknowledge even if your busy...which he wasn't. So, we decided to try again a couple weeks ago. The shrimp were medium sized and we got 9 of them. What good luck! Outback has changed the menu again and they no longer have the roumalade sauce that goes with the shrimp. What bad luck! My husband said the ribs tasted good. What good luck! But there was not much meat on them. What bad luck! I decided to try something completely different since my recent steak experiences had been less than wonderful. I ordered the "Tilapia With Pure Lump Crab Meat" and steamed broccoli and a garden salad with ranch. The tilapia was tasty. What good luck! The "lump crab meat" was actually a little scoop of stovetop stuffing. What bad luck! All kidding aside, it was not a great dinner. Hoping the ranch doesn't follow the roumalade out the door. We have never had a bad meal here. This is the hubby's favorite restaurant. We always get the bloomin petals, which are fantastic and smart. Who can eat an entire bloomin onion anyways?! The petals are perfect. He gets the sirloin with a blue cheese wedge and loaded baked potato. The wedge is oh so good!! I usually order the prime rib when it's available and it's always great! I've never had a bad steak here. I usually get the house salad (so darn good) and loaded baked potato as well. Fries were lit af, a little soggy but they were in the styrofoam boxes for a while. Fry seasoning was excellent. But who tf puts like a half pound of mustard on a burger and doesn't even put on ketchup. Like ketchup is a much better condiment and that's not even my opinion, it's a socially accepted fact. So please don't put like at least 6 packets of mustard on each one of your burgers, we got two and each of us had to take off the bottom bun. Wish I could be a 5-star fan, but this restaurant hasn't adapted to the (coronavirus) times in their take-out service. We ordered once before, and were somewhat disappointed in the side ("seasonal veggies" were not what we have experienced when visiting the restaurant in the past). So, we used "special requests" in order to help them meet expectations this time. Unfortunately, they IGNORED our special requests, and we had the same slightly disappointing experience as last time. (First time, "seasonal veggies" = steamed broccoli only.) We wanted MIXED seasonal veggies. So, we used "special requests" to specify the desired substitution if they planned to do broccoli only. THE SPECIAL REQUESTS WERE TOTALLY IGNORED. I don't know if this is a local (Raleigh, NC) failure, or a failure in the corporate software that somehow omits the special requests we entered with our online order. Doesn't matter. We won't be doing business here again until they get it fixed - and let us know they've addressed it. Even though the salmon was excellent and the broccoli well-prepared, what we received is NOT WHAT WE ORDERED. We also submitted a phone number for you to call (should they have had any confusion. No call received). If you want to survive this coronavirus thing, you might want to figure out your problem. Other restaurants have; we'll be doing business there! read more

Ordinary was a treat for me and wife close to home steaks were price for size not bad not good would go there again a step above most restaurants in area just not a place to go regularly because of prices cook at home as to save money is a nice treat once in a while read more

I've been to Outbacks all over Southeast and this one was of the best I've visited. Very clean and all staff members were professional looking and courteous. Really like this place, good steaks at a good price. This is a place my dad makes us go at least once every time they visit. My husband and I eat at this Outback probably 3 Saturday dinners a month. We like it because my husband can order some kind of steak or the prime rib and I can order something else. The menu has a wide variety. I used to partake of the wide variety, until Outback came up with Firecracker Salmon. This is now my favorite meal and I seldom order anything else. (Unless I go there for lunch with friends and then it's the unlimited soup and salad, with the excellent potato soup.) We have no complaints about the service, which I have seen in other reviews. Our service is always great. I give 4 stars instead of 5 only because (1) I don't know how to make it 4.5, and (2) occasionally, and only occasionally, the mixed vegetables that come with my salmon are not cooked as done as I like. I don't like the veggies crunchy after they are cooked. It's a Southern thing, I guess, and I am Southern. Oh, and I wish I had discovered sooner that your AARP card gets you a discount! Met up with some friends at Outback...the place was very busy, waited about 10 minutes..looks like they renovated this location. Ordered the Alice springs chicken..it was the usual good, but not anything special. The service was odd...the waitress was training someone, she sounded so corporate...like a machine talking....find that annoying. She brought us refills and checked on us, but it was like playing 20 questions...! I find fake niceness...not good. Just be real. I hope the poor kid training does not end up being like her when he waits on his own. read more
