I find it very very hard to review chain restaurants. They all have the same ingredients and follow a set way of preparing and cooking the foods. So the food is what it is. But i will say every experience is different. Like this time my wife and i ate here early on a Saturday afternoon at around 4pm. We were in and out in 45 minutes. The service was great. Going early makes a great difference. Our glasses never went passed half way. The bread was always full. It's like we had the restaurant to ourselves. What a great time. I wish i could remember the person who waited on us. They were on it. So this four star review is based on the service and cleanliness. We would for sure me back. Food has gone way downhill. My husband's favorite is a New York but those are off the menu. Wanted a prime rib instead, but nope, only available on weekends. Ordered the ribeye which came out the size of a breakfast steak. It's hard to cook a steak that thin so it was overcooked. I ordered broccoli as my side which was off color and brown in spots. Service was good, we paid before we expressed our disappointment with the meal so it didn't look like we wanted a freebie. Manager came over and gave us coupons for a discount. TAKE OUT ORDERING: The app: It is easy to read, understand and order from. Bonus points because it doesn't make you go through a 10 minute registration process and tons of personal information to order a simple one time meal. Timing: The order was ready when I arrived. However, there was no way of knowing that since there is not a notification or follow up email to let you know. Travels well: This was an issue during the lockdowns as there were lots of places that did not have very good containers and processes to make sure a $30 dinner would still be warm and have the correct consistency after 15 or 20 minutes travel time. Here the meat was good, the potato was hot, the soup was hot enough, the bread had already become chewy and kinda gross (usually my favorite part of dine-in here). Taste: Everything but the bread was very good. Got the order right: Yes, 100% and all of the extras were there including salt and pepper, butter, baked potato toppings, plastic wear, napkin. Easy to pick up: Not the best part. It says on the app that pick up will be taken to your car and even has you describe your car. I came from the front of the store and found no pick up area designated. When I went inside the host had me follow him back to the pick up area (in the very back of the place.) When I left I saw that the side door of the restaurant had a sign on it that said "pick up" but there is not a parking area or directions that guide you to that particular location. Stopped by this location for a mid week date night. The wait was non existent as it was a pretty mellow night. I mean... it was Thursday My date and I ordered drinks and dinner and enjoyed our chill atmosphere. We both ordered the Toowoomba Salmon topped w/ mushrooms , shrimp, and a creole sauce. As for drinks I got a lemon drop of course while he got a huckleberry hooch. All items were great to taste and well prepared. Despite my wife and I not being fans of Outback, we continue to receive gift cards to this establishment for Christmas, Birthdays, etc. Much like last year, we had another gift card and didn't want to waste it so off we went to give them another try. Much like our last visit, it was just ok. The customer service was the one stand out. The one thing we've never had a problem with here are the staff. They've always been great. The food, though, is another story. I ordered the filet mignon and asked for a doneness of medium well. Normally, I go with medium but they've undercooked my steak before so I went one level up thinking they would end up cooking it medium. I was wrong. This time they overcooked it and my steak my well. Practically ruined. On top of that, my steak didn't look like a filet mignon. This looked more like a petit New York or something like that. So not only was it over cooked, I'm fairly certain it wasn't even the correct steak to begin with. I decided to just eat it because my wife already had her food and I would've been eating alone or hers would've been cold if she waited. It was lose/lose. To sum it up, I've never understood Outback's appeal and popularity and this most recent visit, much like the few in the past, has cemented that feeling for me. I've now tried their chicken, steak, and ribs and out of the three, the chicken was the better option (but only by a slim margin). We took my mother-in-law out for Mother's Day. Oh boy, what a disappointment. $300 for five people and the food was lousy. Everyone agreed that the food was no good. My husband got a cheeseburger that was the size of what a child would have. This was $17 and only a sprinkle of fries. My brother-in-law complained that the drinks had barely any alcohol and for the price, this was ridiculous. The family was hungry and we decided to go to outback for steaks. I ordered a Cobb salad with blue cheese dressing on the side . My son and his dad each got a rib eye steak with shrimp and side of Mac & cheese. My Cobb salad was a chopped iceberg lettuce with cheese and tomatoes. It was the saddest looking and tasteless salad I've ever had. My husband's got his steak and the shrimp in sauce over the steak. He bit into the shrimp and it was cold. He called the waitress over about the cold shrimp and she said to put the shrimp on another plate and she would take it back and re-heat it. She said it was cooked?? We just told her we don't want the shrimp anymore. The steak wasn't any better. It was rare and not medium. He didn't eat it. My son's steak was cooked to medium well and he said it tasted fine. Both their Mac and cheese wasn't good. It didn't have "cheesy" texture and looked like it was re-heated in a little skillet. Haven't been to Outback in quite a few years (at least 5) and was so looking forward to a yummy steak... The service was outstanding! Servers and staff were efficient, attentive, and super engaging. Definitely 5 stars for them! But. The. Food. Bloomin' onion was way overdone and tasted like an overly salted, burnt onion ring. Did not eat it. House salad had soggy cherry tomatoes and was buried in a gross shredded cheese. Did not eat it. Steak (9 oz sirloin) was so tough and chewy my jaw ached after 3 bites, so I brought that home for the critters. Grilled shrimp was dry, overcooked, and also chewy. Did not eat. The 13 french fries that came with the meal were stale and cold. Did not eat those either. The restaurant itself had an odd smell - almost like old beer and mold. Hard to describe. We were seated in a dirty booth. Crumbs covered the seats as well as the very sticky tabletop. Overall, a thoroughly disappointing experience. For the money spent, we could have made a fabulous steak dinner for 4 in my own kitchen. At least the fur babies at home are happy. read more

For a restaurant chain, this particular restaurant seems to be a cut above the rest of Outback's chains. The different servers we've had so far have been exemplary in providing service and were very attentive to our needs. As for the food, I am pleasantly surprised that they have a chef that knows how to cook steak the way I like it, medium rare. Their bread is really good too, can't get enough of them. And in addition to their regular wings, they have added the "Nashville Hot" wings which is really awesome! I always order the 6 oz sirloin with asparagus (extra $) with a side salad and the steak has always been decent. Their selection of drinks numerous and some are really good. I tried their strawberry peach sangria and I actually had a couple of them, I think I'm hooked--it was really good. Didn't get the chance to take a pic though. But they have this wine called "Conundrum" Red, which was surprisingly good too. I have never been disappointed in the service whenever we go there. If you have a problem with chain restaurants you can stop reading now. Go away and watch cat videos. This restaurant had been here more than a decade. A decade of solid meals time and time again. Service is always great, and they do a good job with picking a solid staff. We started with grilled Shrimp on the Barbie. The mix of dry rub and whatever the marinade is combines to sheer perfection. Five small to medium sized shrimp to a skewer, two skewers total with chopped cherry tomato mix in the base. It's kinda steep on the price for the amount on this app, 10.99. If they had a third skewer it would feel more on point for pricing. Second app was the Volcano Shrimp. A nice mix of sweet, savory and spicy. Just the right amount of heat makes these pop. Breading is nice and the serving size for this app is more in tune with price, 8.99. About twice the size as compared to Shrimp on the Barbie app. For the record, I mostly hate iceberg lettuce. The exception is lettuce wraps, and wedge salads. I have had many wedge salads around town, and even my home made creations cannot hold a candle to the one they serve here. Crisp and fresh iceberg, purple onion, tomato, blue cheese dressing with additional BC crumbles. They drizzle a little balsamic over the top. This is pure magic, the cross of salty, and sweet makes this the best wedge in my life. Steaks are always solid, this time opted for the porterhouse. Did not come out medium as ordered, but rare. Spoke to management and it was rectified immediately. Tasty and perfect, kudos. If you ever see the Tomahawk offered around Fathers Day, order that, the things dreams are made of. We had a giftcard and decided to come here about 5pm on Sunday. We've been to Outback many times before and have always liked it, but we have been trying to check out other options especially local to the area. We took a seat at a booth in the bar and were provided both the regular and specials menu. The standard pumpernickel bread and sweet butter was brought to our table as well. We each ordered a beverage and we chose to get the bloom petals appetizer. It's about half the price and size of the Bloomin Onion, which is perfect for the two of us. We usually end up throwing away about half of the Bloomin Onion because we can't eat it all. When the drinks and appetizer arrived we also placed our order. My wife ordered the Queensland chicken and shrimp pasta and I chose the Steakhouse Philly. Yep go figure, it's one of my standard go to items! Our meals arrived in a timely manner and looked delicious! Everything tasted very good and we had leftovers to take home. My wife and I both commented to each other about how good the service was. Ben who was working the bar area and took care of us and did an amazing job. We felt like we didn't have to ask for anything. Like I said we have been here before and we will be back again.
