Glaring interrogation lights hanging low over the tables in the bar and dining area, dirty tables, full busing tray left in the seat of the booth we were brought to which left a wet spot when taken away by a young kid who could've cared less about being there. This place was gross. We left without eating. Outback's used to be a nicer place to have a consistent ok meal but now it seems more like a Denny's....except Denny's has better service. It had been a couple years since my family and I went to our neighborhood outback steakhouse. The first thing I noticed is how much they have raised their prices. For the prices they are now charging, we could have gone to a real, non-chain steakhouse. But pricing aside (because if they can charge that amount and still do decent business, then great for them), the food was around what you would get at Chili's maybe 10 years ago. It wasn't bad. But nothing special. Please note that Chili's has gone way down in quality so that's why I compare it to that restaurant in an appropriate timeframe. The bread was not nearly as fresh as it once was. And it did not cut easily at all. The food came out in stages. My side came out after I was finished with the main dish. On this occasion, I ordered the steakhouse Philly. It was pretty small, but the flavor was decent enough. My side, the steakhouse mac and cheese, came out about 10 minutes later. It was OK, but for a "specialty" mac and cheese, was nothing special. Service was incredibly slow. I ordered a second drink well before our meals arrived and it came out after the mac and cheese arrived. When most of our food was brought to the table, the server asked if we wanted ketchup. We said yes (because 9 year old and fries) and assumed it would be brought out sometime soon. After a long time without receiving it (my mac and cheese had come already), we saw our server and said that we would still like ketchup. He said he would bring it right away. Several more minutes passed. Then, I took matters into my own hands and walked back toward the kitchen and asked another server if she could get me ketchup. That also took longer than it should. She came back out of the kitchen with a tiny amount of ketchup. A manager (I assume) was there and I asked him if I could get a little more ketchup. He went back and brought more ketchup out. So crisis averted. I brought the ketchup to my daughter. About 5 or 10 minutes later, our server came by and noticed that I got what we asked him for twice and somewhat apologized while simultaneously blaming hosting for the issues with poor service. Regardless, this was not a good experience. It seems like a good choice for a night out close to home has just been removed from the list. We did not order desert. And it will be a long time before any of us think about giving this place another try. read more

We had eaten here regularly a number of years ago. Unfortunately, the service, food quality and cleanliness dropped off and this location dropped off our list. We have returned for a couple of visits and the staff have been friendly and polite. The one consistent problem is the inability to produce a medium-rare steak. On one visit, my medium-rare was more cooked than my friend's medium. The up side is that they always take care of it. The down side is that I am eating after everyone is finished. On another visit, the prime rib was quite tough to cut and chew. The waiter insisted that I must be satisfied and brought a replacement that was perfect. I ordered the Steakhouse Salad. While the toppings on the salad and the steak itself were okay, the greens in the salad consisted of only iceberg. This is wholly unacceptable. No spinach? No arugula? Not even some romaine? It was an embarrassment of a salad and if not for the beef would have been very nutrient thin. Our waitress was very nice and attentive but the food just took very long to get there. The cooks in the back must have mistimed it because when my table's food arrived my steak was cold and so was my friend's. It seems that one of the ways they try to compensate is to have their plates very hot, not a bad strategy. This still doesn't, however, make up for having cold food. We dined here on a very busy Wednesday night in March and maybe that was the problem. The restaurant, perhaps, was much more busy than it planned to be for a Wednesday night. read more

I want start off my saying that the manager from this location in Plantation 1823 N Pine Island Rd Fort Lauderdale, FL 33322 United States was so disgusting to our party. Yes we were a big party but that's is no way to treat us. From the beginning we asked the wait time she told us 45 min - 1 hr, we were okay with that. After an hour we went to speak with the hostess to see what was happening and we were told like 10 more min, and she offered water. The manager took forever to bring us the water and when she finally took it to us, very rudely she asked who ordered the waters and the just left them in the table she didn't even have the courtesy to hand us the waters. After another hour we asked to speck to her which, she took long to come as well and while my sister and I were speaking to her she was talking to us very rudely asking us "what do you want me to do, kick the other people out their chairs. I told you guys it was going to be a long wait". She didn't tell us it was going to be a long wait, it was only going to be 45 to 1 hr. Her name was cilia or something like that. I have been using Outback Steakhouse's delivery service for several month. Their deliveries are faster than other delivery services. Their prime rib, steak and pork have been delicious and tender. Outback's salads are fresh and crispy with a great selection of dressings. The online order form allows for you to select temperature of meat, no seasoning, no onion, cucumber, etc. for salads and offers suggestions for sides. The order form is well thought out. After a long outing with the family, we decided to dine in at the outback steakhouse here in Plantation, Florida. Shericka, our server, came with her "A" game tonight. She was probably one of the most pleasant waitresses we have ever had the pleasure to serve us. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, made great suggestions, and made us laugh! You really can't ask for more. We are from West Palm Beach, FL so it was nice to be able to come to this fine establishment away from home and really be able to enjoy our entire day out. Service started out OK then went dramatically downhill from there, the drinks never got refilled and we had to flag down a manager at the end to get to go boxes and the bill. The food was not good either. My filet was very tough and was undercooked, when I said something the waitress said maybe cook it a bit more and it would be more tender. Well, it wasn't and then it was so over cooked I couldn't eat it. My mom's filet was undercooked also but she just ate the edges and Brought the rest home to be cooked up a little bit more. my dad and I both had broccoli and the chunks of the broccoli were so big that we didn't even try to tackle them. I was here for dinner on 11/11. No wait and I just sat at the bar. Drinks immediately and ordering food. Grilled shrimp appetizer came shortly after and was good. Its a shame that Outback took a good thing and in my opinion ruined it. I had a better taste before but it was still good. The filet and lobster tail were cooked perfectly. I do like the way the do their tails now, so much easier to remove than years past. The bar tenders were great too! When I want steak I go to Outback! Heather was a wonderful server who was attentive, kind and courteous! They have a special right now a 3 course meal for 11.99 which my dad had. I had the 9 oz sirloin which was 14.99. BOTH steaks were cooked perfectly(medium rare) and the sides were fresh and delicious. The only issue we had during our last visit was the service. Both myself and my boyfriend work in the biz so we can understand when servers are busy but the restaurant was almost empty on a sunday. We have had to rely on take out recently because we had a baby. Outback has been in our rotation for picking up dinner. The past few times we have had consistent issues with not receiving the correct order and items missing. I've never called to complain before but we felt at this point we had enough. My husband had ordered a sirloin with coconut shrimp and upgraded his side to the Mac and cheese and a bowl of soup. Once again they missed something.. when I got home, I realized his Mac n cheese was missing. I called the takeout line to let them know and ask for a credit. They put me on hold for a bit and the manager came on the phone. He said that the Mac and cheese was an extra add on for $2. (So that would be $2 + the normal side price). And that I had given a coupon for $5 off the order. And then he began to say that the coupon I gave them was for Longhorn!? And they just realized it..... I said I'm sorry but you are telling me I gave the wrong coupon all of a sudden and that makes it okay that you forgot to give me part of my order like that's supposed to make it right!!???!!! I have several Outback coupons in my purse. They publish those coupons all over the place... if I had the wrong coupon, I could have whipped out the right one. I was so offended that this manager would think it's okay to mess up my order because he thought I was trying to "get one over on them" with a coupon... really!?! What about the $3 tip I left..? I have come to this outback a number of times. I always seem to enjoy the food, but the atmosphere kills it for me. There are these dangling lights that almost seem to touch your forehead and the light is so bright that we had to tell our waiter to please unscrew the light bulb. It was much better after that. There are a few things on the menu that are worth getting and then there are other things that are just awful. I will not name those things because everyone has a different palette when it comes to what is tasty and what is not. I have read many of other people's review on the burger, but I seem to enjoy the burger here. It is always cooked how I ask for it. It is juicy and it is huge! Overall, if you are hungry... plan to wait for a while to be seated on a Friday night or Saturday night which seems to be the nights I go here. The servers are very nice and try to please the customers as expected. The only issue I have are with the ladies in the front who take down your name. They are for some reason always pissed. They must really hate their job or something. They make the outback experience a little less pleasurable. read more

If I had ordered that steak in a non-chain, two stars. But given the chain deal, I'll bump it up a star (I am a chain snob, admittedly).
