It was the perfect amount of food and every bite was delicious. We also shared slices of key lime pie and it was perfect. The food alone is enough to go, but stay for the delightful service. The service was excellent. However, the food was a bit lacking. I ordered the 1/2 lb shrimp boil and added one small potato and corn to it. When I cook a low country boil, it already has that good stuff in it. You could add sausage or crab claws. My corn was shriveled and had a lot of spice on it for it to be medium. The pork rinds were excellent and the best thing we had. My lunch partner had fried chicken fingers and they were little round nuggets of Tyson nuggets it looked like to me. We ordered sauce on the side but they still cook it in a spice sauce that gets all over your hands and makes a mess. If the seafood is good I like it just steamed up with some butter. Tried the free pork rinds, they were alright. It was okay for our first time coming here. The crab was over cooked and sticking to the inside of the shell and we did let them know. The snow crab legs were huge, and they seemed to have a lot of meat. I ordered potatoes and eggs in the hot flavor sauce. It was more flavorful than hot. They have only two flavors to choose from, hot or not. The service was great and the staff was very friendly. Outcast Seafood (Miramar Review - 052524 First Outcast visit; will not be my last. The restaurant was crowded with a few groups (many with children) waiting outside for seats to open up. The crowd was mixed, casual and friendly. A few bar seats opened and my crew of 3 were able to be seated very quickly. We were served very quickly by our wonderful, friendly and engaging waitress, Maraya, who was very busy but took care of getting us menus and our drink orders. Drinks came out quickly while we were looking over the menu including a cocktail menu with a nice selection of bottled beer and cold drinks including a really tasty lemonade that was not overly sweet and a good accompaniment to the spicy seafood to come. The restaurant manager, Sinan, was kibitzing around making sure the customers were being taken care of and helping out the wait staff to keep things running smoothly. During this time, he was able to answer some of our questions about the menu, address a concern about the warmth of the restaurant, and adjusted the temperature of the newly installed air conditioner to improve our comfort level before our meal was finished. Sinan was very personable with a nice sense of humor and a service-orientation he demonstrated to his very busy and efficiently executing staff as they were busy with their jobs. He helped serve our drinks, told us a little of the Outcast history, and made us feel very welcomed. Our starter was a nice portion of home-made, seasoned and crispy pork rinds. The Outcast seasoning was featured and was an outstanding introduction to the flavors that would be served. An order of fried calamari was added as an appetizer and they came with a tasty cocktail sauce and an aioli sauce with a touch of horseradish for a nice kick. The seafood medley in "The Big O!"(about 4# of seafood in total) was all very good with the "not-hot" boil/ juice/sauce being deliciously spicy but not hot. Tried a side serving of the "hot" boil/juice/sauce and found it delightfully spicy with just a hint of heat. Nice garlic flavor was front forward but not overpowering and clarified butter was also served. Included proteins were 2# of shrimp (heads-on), 2 good-sized clusters of large Alaskan snow crab, 3 small pieces of Andouille sausage, 2 ears of corn and 2 small potatos. Afterward, a piece of key lime pie served as a very tasty palate cleaner for us. Cost was as advertised on a reviewing website and warrants the $$$$. Service, including food and drinks for 3 guests was under $50 per person before tax and gratuity. The 4.5 stars on that website was also well deserved (with 5 stars from me). read more

This place was absolutely fantastic! We ordered ours online for pickup. It was easy to order. We got there at the estimated time, it was not quite ready, but they were finishing up. As soon as I walked in the door, the bartender offered assistance. He checked our order, and told me give them a few more minutes, and he would have me wrapped up. We got our food without much longer of a wait, and headed home. The inside was packed by the way if you are dining in. It isn't a very big place, but they do have a bar area and tables and chairs to seat a good bit of people. We ordered the shrimp, alligator sausage, mushrooms, corn, potatoes, pork rinds, sweet potato tots and rolls. All of it was fantastic. We didn't go with the hot spices. We went with regular. It had more than enough flavor to be very enjoyable. They were out of Cilantro Lime Garlic Butter which was no good, but things happen. They refunded us, and told us up front they were out. However, what they lack in 'scenery' is made up with great seafood. Especially if you lean toward seasoned low-country boil. This is the real deal. I had the shrimp with potatoes, corn and added some sausage. No pretense, just great food at a good price. Rachael, my server was exceptional. And because I was at the bar, I could see the cook staff doing their thing. Obviously, they earn to please. Bottom line? If you need sunsets, there's lots of places that can offer that; but often at mediocre food.
