Over Easy is a really good breakfast place to go to. I am very satisfied. The wait time to get a table was quick. I came in with 3 people and we only had to wait for around 5 minutes which was good. The menu has so many good options, it really took us a while to pick just one. I got the Chicken and Waffle, my girlfriend got the Avocado and Toast, and my little sister got the One Egg, Tater tots, and Bacon from the kid's menu. The wait time for the food was somewhat noticeable but my little sister got those small wax bits to play with so it kept her occupied so that does put us at ease and I'm sure it would do the same for parents. The food was well worth the wait however. The chicken and waffles were really delicious to the point that I stopped caring about the wait time. I would give this place 5 stars, however there were some small issue that made me not want to give this place a perfect score. There was some food residue inside my girlfriend's napkin when she opened it. So that bummed made her a little uncomfortable. Other than that, with great food and great wait time. The wait was promised for 40-minutes but honestly was about 30-minutes. Over Easy is a love child between Snooze A.M. Eatery and a 5-star resort staff. This was our 10th visit to this location. The last time we ate on their patio because it was so cold inside. Unfortunately their patio faces Warner so you get all the traffic noise and occasional fumes. This visit we still found the inside cold but tolerable but we had to wait for someone to come to the hostess station before we could be seated. It was around 9:00 AM and there were perhaps 8-10 people there. We elected to sit in the back just in front of the divider where the waitstaff congregated ( that is an operative word here) Once seated we were greeted promptly asked for our drink orders which arrived promptly. We were asked if we were ready to order, but asked for a minute or two. That was about 10 minutes. We eventually placed our orders and waited and waited. When our food arrived it looked great. My wife found one piece of brioche French toast was cold such that she imagined it had been frozen and simply reheated. My pancakes were generously sized, were quite hot but were tough to cut. The supplied syrup was thin and flavorless and poured like water. The two over easy eggs I ordered had been cooked on an over hot grill, the edges were like rubber, after removing the over cooked edges I slid them onto the pancakes when I set the plate down I later found a ring on the table from whatever they were cooked in. The only really great food item was the 2 sausage links that accompanied her meal. Because we were seated in front of the divider where the waitstaff congregated, and save for one female server who appeared frequently attending to her tables. The remainder of the staff stayed behind the divider and chatted and chatted. While we were eating one customer in a wheelchair rolled himself into the waitstaff area to request something he wanted but had to go find the server since the server hadn't checked on their customer. As guests left one of the staff shouted out all the way across the restaurant to thank them for coming. At one point our server stopped and asked my wife if she was finished and then removed her plates it was a good 10 minutes before she returned for my plates and a bit of time before returning for us to pay. We often seek out Over Easy restaurants when out and about, we probably will still do that but not this location. BTW as we were leaving one of the male waitstaff was at the hostess station and since he had a long sleeved shirt on my wife asked him if he was the manager? No the shirt was a requirement for male waitstaff, it was unusual because it had western style pearl buttons. She thought he might be management but wasn't. We thought it was a bit much. read more

We started coming here a couple years ago when visiting Gilbert when we were trying to decide if we wanted to move here and really liked the food. We ended up moving here last year and each time we come we always ask for Erica. She is great! But the last few times the food has been inconsistent. Today, my Ham Steak breakfast was overly salted (O'briens and ham were just salty). And my wife's hash browns were soggy/mushy inside but crisp outside like the grill was too hot and didn't let them cook thru. We didn't complain because our server (not Erica) got hit with a bunch of tables on the patio. And as of late, our food comes out warm-not hot. Maybe their kitchen staff has high turnover as I don't know what has changed. But I don't think we will continue going if they can't get their food right. read more

The table we sat at was very wobbly that my husband's coffee would spill if we moved it a little, he had to literally fold his napkin to put under the table to stabilize it. Took our 2 year old granddaughter out for breakfast at Over East Gilbert. The wait was maybe 5 minutes. The menu was decent and fairly priced. The bloody Mary's were mid range on taste and looked a little lack luster. The chillequilles we partially cold part hot and the orders were incorrect. The restaurant sat us near a window which the window sill was full of dead bugs. I love overeasy! I've been to numerous locations. For some reason, this location always seems to mess up my order! I always order the Californian omelette with no cheese (due to an allergy) and they always forget to remove the cheese. Been here a handful of times with my work team. It's 6 of us in total. Erica has been our server each time. She is fantastic! Always gets our order correct and is on top of refills. I always get the chicken fried steak with potatoes O'Brien. The gravy is soooo good. The fried steak is good, not great. Coffee tastes ok. A lot of locals rave about Overeasy and we had it recommended by several people. I was not that impressed. Maybe if I hadn't eaten at Matt's Big Breakfast the day before I would have been more impressed? Or if I had gotten one of their specialties? I sometimes judge a restaurant on how well they do the mundane things (maybe that's not fair?) but I wasn't blown away by any means. Dwight got 2 eggs with Sausage gravy, biscuits and home fries and I got the southwestern omelette which was overcooked to the point of almost being burned. The potatoes were bland and the toast was almost burnt. Their name Over Easy is really clever and I was drawn to try them for breakfast!! It's situated in a plaza near downtown Gilbert and there is ample parking. We had their golden waffle dogs which was featured on the Food Network. I was disappointed with the ones we got because they were soggy, but it could've just been a bad batch since they're highly recommended. We also had the chilaquiles which also came out soggy and the lemon ricotta pancakes which were just okay. Overall, it was a let down from what I had anticipated. read more
