The service was great, super nice and attentive. The food was a little better than ok but not "omg we have to come back". The potatoes weren't seasoned very well on both dishes. The table we sat at was very wobbly that my husband's coffee would spill if we moved it a little, he had to literally fold his napkin to put under the table to stabilize it. We started coming here a couple years ago when visiting Gilbert when we were trying to decide if we wanted to move here and really liked the food. We ended up moving here last year and each time we come we always ask for Erica. She is great! But the last few times the food has been inconsistent. Today, my Ham Steak breakfast was overly salted (O'briens and ham were just salty). And my wife's hash browns were soggy/mushy inside but crisp outside like the grill was too hot and didn't let them cook thru. We didn't complain because our server (not Erica) got hit with a bunch of tables on the patio. And as of late, our food comes out warm-not hot. Maybe their kitchen staff has high turnover as I don't know what has changed. But I don't think we will continue going if they can't get their food right. read more

This place was cute. I visited with a friend before we went to work one Friday morning. The food was good. Steak was perfect. Eggs were good. The sweet tots were really good. The waitress was nice. Service here is outstanding, the best of all their locations. The food is consistent for sure and I've never had any issues. Solid breakfast choice. Stopped by as brunch is one of my fave hobbies! I was torn between trying the California omelette and lemon ricotta pancakes! The bartender recommended the California omelette subbing the single lemon ricotta cake for the toast which was nice to be able to try both. They were both SO stinking good! Atmosphere - Retro diner vibe without diner counter.  The yellows and teal blues pop .  We sat at a table that was half booth and half chairs, which works out fine for us.  We really did not want to sit outside.  The misters turn on about 10:30. Food Drink - I had some nice hot black coffee. Breakfast - I had to try something Guy from Diners, Drive-In and Dives had during his show.  So you can go two ways for breakfast savory or sweet.  I went sweet with a side of sausage.  Need that heavy protein.  I love French toast, and the banana nut scream at me to try it.  The toasts was so airy, almost melted away in your mouth.  The nuts provided a nice contrast to the soft French toast and banana.  The caramel sauce just upped the sweetness level.  So good, I am wanting more as I writing this. This location does not hold a candle to the Mesa location. The food in Mesa was excellent. This was barely mediocre.

This place is a chain restaurant but it's a good chain! My family and I have eaten at this location numerous times and it's always a hit when we are hungry or hangry. Took our 2 year old granddaughter out for breakfast at Over East Gilbert. The wait was maybe 5 minutes. The menu was decent and fairly priced. The bloody Mary's were mid range on taste and looked a little lack luster. The chillequilles we partially cold part hot and the orders were incorrect. The restaurant sat us near a window which the window sill was full of dead bugs. I love overeasy! I've been to numerous locations. For some reason, this location always seems to mess up my order! I always order the Californian omelette with no cheese (due to an allergy) and they always forget to remove the cheese. I ordered a double biscuits and gravy and my wife ordered Chicken fried steak A large plate with two biscuits covered in gravy was brought to me. It was cold and they had to remake it "(we don't have a microwave oven!! the waitress who walked slowly and talked loudly and fast. said! There was a little after noon and quiet, but she made us wait awhile! Coffee was poured and when I tried it, it was tepid, yuck, She brought out another coffee after a bit and I had to ask for more cream, and sugar, another "while". My wife's plate came out and looked very appealing until she tried to cut some of the fried steak, and really needed a sharper knife! It didn't taste good to her, so she ate the eggs and toast. I tried her dish and found it to be a bit tart. So much for a good breakfast. We were never offered any water. It cost us over $40 to not eat!!! They will NEVER see us again! Been here a handful of times with my work team. It's 6 of us in total. Erica has been our server each time. She is fantastic! Always gets our order correct and is on top of refills. I always get the chicken fried steak with potatoes O'Brien. The gravy is soooo good. The fried steak is good, not great. Coffee tastes ok. A lot of locals rave about Overeasy and we had it recommended by several people. I was not that impressed. Maybe if I hadn't eaten at Matt's Big Breakfast the day before I would have been more impressed? Or if I had gotten one of their specialties? I sometimes judge a restaurant on how well they do the mundane things (maybe that's not fair?) but I wasn't blown away by any means. Dwight got 2 eggs with Sausage gravy, biscuits and home fries and I got the southwestern omelette which was overcooked to the point of almost being burned. The potatoes were bland and the toast was almost burnt. I think Dwight's brother got some kind of Hawain pancake that had pineapple on it and they said that was delicious so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing or caught them on a bad day. read more

I also am a fan of the ham steak, tasty red eye gravy. When you're feeling like something cooler try the caprese avacado toast, I add an egg to the top. Their name Over Easy is really clever and I was drawn to try them for breakfast!! It's situated in a plaza near downtown Gilbert and there is ample parking. We had their golden waffle dogs which was featured on the Food Network. I was disappointed with the ones we got because they were soggy, but it could've just been a bad batch since they're highly recommended.
