For years PF Chang was a favorite but in the last 3-4 months things have gone down hill. Service was great but now very hit or miss. Today we ordered lunch for office of soup and lettuce wraps and was totally bummed when we learned there were no spoons but 6 sets of chop sticks. My giving a huge chain like PF Chang's 4 stars is a huge compliment. My husband worked his way through culinary school as a server here and this is one of few chains that I like to support. The business was actually a really nice place to work for. Anyways... PF Chang's can be pretty pricey, but I've never tried anything there that i didn't enjoy so I usually find it well worth it. I'll often get the Singapore Street Noodles subbing five spice tofu for the meats - delish! The curry sauce, crispy onions, and a squeeze of lime combine to make a really perfect balance of flavors. The spicy green beans, Shanghai cucumbers, and vegetarian fried rice are my fav side dishes. I really love the stir fried eggplant as well. It converts eggplant haters with it's silky savory flavor. I just have a hard time justifying eating an entire plate of what is basically fried eggplant in sauce for dinner. Now, being on a budget and all, my hubby and I can swing by PF Chang's at 5:30 or so and quickly order dinner off of the happy hour menu. 99% of the time we get an order of crispy green beans and vegetarian lettuce wraps and share that for dinner. I feel a little twinge of guilt for eating my green beans battered, fried, and dipped in a creamy sauce...and then I eat a bundle of lettuce wrapped veggies & tofu and suddenly feel much better about myself. About $12 for 2 including tax and tip. Goal! No extra charge for brown rice? Big plus. Providing all of the nutritional information and being more aware of allergenic foods and other dietary needs of diners than most restaurants is pretty awesome of these guys too. read more

This was our first time here. We didn't know what we were doing. Our waiter was Jesse. He is amazing, he talked about the menu and we had the best time. I've only gone here for lunch. Two stars because the food is decent but vastly overpriced. I only go here with co-workers when they absolutely insist on eating here. And every time they do it always ends up being one of two things for people who go: 1) they're still hungry after eating there or 2) they just spent $30 on a pretty average lunch. Food and service were fine here.. just nothing exceptional. I think if their portions were larger or if their lunch specials weren't $10, it'd be fine.. but value-wise (Quality vs Price), there are so many better values in Austin for Chinese... even Fire Bowl Cafe on the other side of Jollyville beats this place in that. read more

PF Changs is a dependable chain restaurant. I live around the corner and no matter if it's lunch or dinner I can go in and expect to be served hot, well seasoned food. Each time i've come to PF Changs I've been promptly greeted and overall I have nothing negative to say about this chain. I know that some like to criticize the prices a bit but overall it's a terrific place to go for plenty of food and a great dining experience. read more

Really awesome service - 5 stars for Paul (manager). he customized sesame chicken to have tofu and made old style (wo broccoli) - yum! My wife now loves sesame tofu over spicy eggplant and almost at par with lettuce wraps. Girard and I celebrated our 37th anniversary at P.F. Changs on Jollyville road this evening. We had an incredible waitperson, Topher, and the food was just incredible!!!! I love this place! The food is excellent and the wait staff, for the most part, are excellent. And if they screwup, which doesn't happen often, they give you your meal on the house. I eat here at least once a week. The only real negative is the small parking lot because some days, it is totally full. However, you can usually park nearby, in front of Ann Taylor, and walk over. read more

Went here for dinner on a weeknight, and I guess there was nothing that left me wanting more. There is parking up and down the street and I feel that the Galleria rarely gets crowded so there is parking near by. The restaurant has a very blue decor, I suppose that is given with the name. We made a reservation, but it seemed unnecessary. The restaurant is very clean and has great decor, the fish tank is really nice and there are cool paintings on the wall. The decor and detail has a nice touch, the utensils have fishes on it, there is a dolphin fountain in the back area. The decor is carried into the bathroom as well. But the food fell short to me, the rolls were good. We got the quesadilla appetizer and it was okay, but a little mushy. I got the chicken dish, and part of it was pink, but the server told me because it was rotisserie, it will be pink but it was good to eat. I did not, because I did not want to get sick so I just at the edges. The dessert tasted like it was straight rum. I wouldn't make the effort to come back out here, nor would I recommend this to anyone. read more

I've always avoided PF Chang's because for some reason I got the impression that it was terrible. To this day I cannot fathom how I got that impression without ever being there. One day after a movie with a friend, she suggested we grab a bite at PF Chang's. I grudgingly agreed. To my surprise, I actually enjoyed the meal! Granted, this is about as Chinese as Panda Express, but the food is tasty and the drinks are good. Stop thinking it as "Chinese food" and start thinking it as "Asian fusion" and you'll have a much better time. read more

It's a shame that P.F. Chang's at the Arboretum no longer has a lunch menu that mirrors the dinner menu. It had been awhile since I had eaten there, so when a friend and I decided to do lunch I was really looking forward to a treat. But the lunch menu was drastically different and the only entree selections are three or four bowls and a few salads. The Mandarin Crunch salad I picked, with chicken added for an additional cost, was mediocre. The service was very good but the music was too loud and when an employee at the reception stand was asked if it could be turned down, he said he would ask the manager. I never noticed a difference in the volume and was glad when we finished our meal and exited. I will not be back. read more

Wife and I had 2 lunch bowls today. The Koean Bibimbop was not edible. The bean sprouts were uncooked and there was no gochujung sauce. She ordered brown rice and got white. My Mongolian beef was tough overcooked beef with a terriaki style sauce and green unions with brown rice. At least the manager took off my wife's meal. Not happy. read more

I was not happy with our visit today for lunch. We only had lunch time to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and decided to come here because we usually have great experiences at PF Changs. Well we were disappointed with the quality of food. The sushi roll we paid $15 for was made with old hard rice, the food felt old and not fresh but we had to go to work and didn't have time for adjustments. Our family had a very nice meal at the Jollyville location until it was time for coffee and dessert. We were disappointed that the coffee machine was not working correctly, burning the coffee grounds and making it undrinkable. Hopefully they can get this corrected soon as I feel that a trip to P.F. Have eaten here twice recently. Neither time we had a reservation and were treated extremely well. It's a small location so no reservation means a wait at prime time. We're long time PF Chang fans and this location is one of the best. They also are also one of the best places to eat out if you are forced by health issues to eat Gluten Free. Tip if you can not find parking go out and take every first right possible. You'll end up on the service road behind the mall and it is essentially the same as the too small PF Changs Parking lot but has lots of empty parking spaces. Very shoddy/thrown together meal. My wife and I decided to have dinner here last night. Our waiter Christopher was great, however the food was absolutely not. I had not eaten here in over 3 years. I remember this place being very delicious and worth the $50-$75 dollars spent. Not even close. My meal tasted like to go cheap chinese from one of those hole in the wall joints on the drag by UT. I've been a regular customer for years and do like their food. However, I called to make a reservation for a smaller group (10 people) to attend after a funeral. They said that they couldn't take a reservation so I explained the situation. They said that they still wouldn't take a reservation but could seat us on a walk-in basis most likely. If they think they'll have room, why not take a reservation especially when they know it's a time of grief? Good food or not, if management is that inflexible and cold, they can keep there salt and pepper prawns. I won't be back and will never recommend. I order food from here all the time. I also dine in. Yes mistakes do happen but PF Changs has an incredible staff that always takes care of me all the time. The reviewer who came this place 1 star was probably looking for a free meal. I have been coming to this location for many years. I have been satified and i am very happy. The atmosphere is nice. Food & service have been good here for the 50-plus times we've been. Today, however, I am writing about their above-and-beyond service. My wife & I ordered take-out: lemon chicken & vegetable fried rice. They made a simple mistake giving us lemon scallops instead of chicken, which we didn't recognize until we got home. I called to politely let them know that they made a small error. We ate the scallops and they were quite good. Because of the error, the manager is mailing us a gift card for two (2) free entrees next time we visit or call in. We certainly did not ask for anything but he felt they needed to make it right. That is above-and-beyond exceptional service and I told him so. Just wanted to share a very positive experience. read more
