Went for Birthday lunch the other day. The first thing I noticed was an unpleasant smell... like a nasty greasey kitchen mop smell.... Thankfully it wasn't too horrible we decided to stay. The hostess was very pleasant and found us a booth with very little wait. The waiter and the rest of the staff were great and the food was served quickly and was very good. We had the lettuce wraps and the Kung Pao chicken with a side of spring rolls... recommended! Besides the bad smell in the restaurant the experience was over all positive but cannot give a higher rating. OVERPRICED BUT QUICK SERVICE. This iconic Chinese-Americanized cuisine restaurant is a great way to introduce people to new flavors that try to reflect the Chinese cuisine. We wanted a place to celebrate a birthday and this was the restaurant of her choosing. Dishes are flavorful and the decor is nice enough that you can have a great time celebrating someone's birthday or having a business meeting. The children's menus are good enough for the little picky eaters, including fried chicken tenders, lo-me in noodles and fried rice with chicken and egg. These options for the sides are either fruit, broccoli, carrots or green peas but not fries. With the exception of a few additions like the new pink rice Hitachino Nest beer, the menu remains the same and the usual appetizers made it to our table that night: Crab wontons and spring rolls. Children LOVED both and I wish I had ordered more for me. This was my first time trying the Kung-pao shrimp, which I just added to my list of favorites! It took 35-40 mins to just cook our dish's, our server left and never came back to take our order. It was another 15 minutes before another server captured our table. The place wasn't even busy and the food was expensive for the portion size. It did taste 7.5/10 but good lord, there is some serious work to do here to improve. To begin I personally love PF Changs but my experience today was unexpectable! We went around 11:20-11:30 and the service was horrible! Our server (Alexia) not only took 30 minutes to bring our food out our rice was under seasoned,under cooked,mushy and had little to no flavor! Wich was sligty under standible due to the time 20 minutes after opening. So we ended up sending it back for a family favorite lunch sized Lo mein wich Alexia took around 20 minutes to bring . After the 20 minute wait we opened a un favored, absolutely no seasoned nothing in my lo mein which now could just be called noddles! i would highly not recommend ordering from Aexia if you wish to tip 20% or more (we didn't!). read more

I haven't been to a P.F Chang's in years but our daughter wanted to come here for her birthday. Our party of 5 started with lettuce wrap appetizers and shared an assortment of entrees, followed by the flaming bread pudding dessert. All of our food was great, but the real winner tonight was the service. Our waiter (I think his name was Altamo) was one of the best I've had in awhile. He was friendly and never once let our drinks get below half. He and the woman I assume was a manager were constantly checking in an even though the restaurant was busy, we always felt like we were their priority. So not the first time visiting here and been a fan of their mangolian beef for long. This time we decided to try something different. Noticed food quality starting to go down a bit of late. Hope they take it seriously and improve. Staff and service is great even now by the way. We had our usual coconut cooler which was great but apart from Beef Sichuan none of the other dishes were upto mark including Kung pao chicken. We asked for Chang's spicy chicken, but the one we got was non spicy and sweet. Hookian street noodle didn't hit the mark too. For the rates offered Entrees can have bit more quantity as with other restaurants definitely more. All around average experience. Go only for tried and tested items in the menu. read more

My fiancé and our 7 month old baby girl went for an early dinner, the food was amazing like Ive always remembered & such a delicious & exciting selection of cocktails. But what really stood out and the main reason I've decided to write my first Yelp review is our amazing sever josh not only did he offer excellent professional service after we had put away all our baby stuff and the baby in car seat josh ran out and returned the $100 dollar bill we dropped on our way out! I ordered a lunch bowl with Kung Pao Chicken today. I have to say it was the most bland Kung Pao i ever had. The only veggies it had where strips of celery. The chicken sauce was tasteless and chicken was dry. The chili peppers weren't even cooked or crunchy. Even the rice was dry and had a starchy flavor. I only give them one point for the strong container and another point for the online order form and curb side pickup. Most likely, it's the last time i will ever eat there. There's nothing special about P.F. Chang's - it's exactly what one would expect of a chain Chinese restaurant with obnoxiously placed horse statues. It's overpriced and unauthentic - one shouldn't be expecting anything authentic about a Chinese restaurant that serves sushi (Japanese), bibimbap (Korean), and terrible cooked long grain white rice (Uncle Ben). We came because well, it was a bit late and we wanted to get out the house, and there wasn't anything we were feeling. We had our first date at a P.F. Chang's several years ago, where I ordered a Mai Thai (also not Chinese) with an umbrella in it...and she's still with me. The food has and always will be a 5/10, irregardless of which location you go to. The "Beef á la Sichuan" contained a minuscule amount of tough pieces of meat and an abundance of celery - shout out to featuring a calorie/nutrient neutral veggie. Crispy Honey Shrimp is actually good, but a cop out when compared to honey walnut shrimp. You're paying for 10-20 count shrimp based on the price of the dish, but you're really getting 20-30 count shrimp with lots of tempura breading. I'm not knocking it...just saying it's pricey for what it is. The worst part about the dinner was the rice. When we ordered (30 min + before we actually got our food) we were told that both brown (gross) and white rice were running low. I'm good with that, it was towards the end of the night, so I get it. But, the rice that came out was dry/hard. That's a fundamental problem if an Asian restaurant cannot cook rice properly. Maybe it was "old" rice that was meant for fried rice (that's what it tasted like to us", so it was pretty disappointing. Kudos to the manager for apologizing for the delay on food! Y'all need to figure out how to make rice though. read more

Today my kid texted me, can you bring me cake or pie when you come home? Uh, really? After a couple more hours working though, I decided I could get take out for dinner and maybe bring her one piece of cake. Hmm but I am trying to eat better. Oh, screw it. I wanted lettuce wraps. Hopped online ( briefly considered --then rejected-- doing it through Delivered Dish but no I need to just get it myself.DD often takes hours). Put in my online order. The email said to get it curbside in 20 but didnt reflect the dessert I ordered for Princess.I called a few minutes away from my 20 min pickup time and easily added it to the order. When I arrived at the curb I called as directed and a nice very friendly young man brought me my ticket, took my cash, and quickly brought my food.He then brought a little tray holder and a shopping basket with our food in it and named the items as he bagged them in front of me into shopping type bags. How cool is that!? Every item accounted for in front of me one at a time. Unlike other places that give you a mysterious bag and you play takeout roulette hoping its all there when you get home. Even with the ten minute drive home the food was fresh, hot, crisp and delicious. My daughter liked her ginger chicken and rice and her cake, which was enormous, will last her the next three days. My lettuce wraps and dumplings were tasty as usual. I got extra lettuce so theres plenty for leftovers for tomorrow. I am a Chinese food purist and an anti chain snob on my best days but PF Changs service and tasty food has won me over. I like it. I dont care if its authentic or not. Its pretty good. read more

Hmmm I've been waiting to eat at PF CHANGS forever!!! Seriously I'd drive by heading to another restaurant and tell myself that one day I'm going to stop and try it. We had just moved in our apartment and we were waiting on our furniture to come so we decided to order from Deliver A Dish and PF CHANGS popped up. We ordered a variety of dishes but the lo mein, fried rice and chocolate cake were my favorite. In my opinion everything is over priced and you can get great Chinese food from another establishment for similar prices. Again... This is where we get back to chain restaurants. We spent around $130 and it just wasn't worth it to me but my boyfriend was very happy!! And... it was good so I won't lie about that. I would definitely get the fried rice, Lo mein and chocolate cake again. The sushi wasn't really sushi to me either and I'd never order that again. Happy Yelping.. read more

We usually just come in for HH, 3-6 Mon-Fri. Today we walked in and it smelled realllly fishy. Not pleasant at all. It was about 3:15 with only people at two tables, bartender noticed us but it took a while to even be greeted and then seated. Tables were clean, contactless ordering on your phones now, and good social distancing. Sushi wasn't the prettiest but it tasted decent, 3/5 with a extra side of spicy mayo helped a lot. A good friend and I have had a yearly tradition of meeting up at PF Chang's to celebrate the holidays together with their appetizers and drinks, usually during happy hour. We checked the menu last night and saw that there is no longer a specific happy hour but an All Day Every Day Specials menu that is advertised on their website and decided to meet there today in the early afternoon. No where on PF Chang's website advertising that special does it say that these specials are only available if you sit in the bar (I just checked again before writing this review). But when we arrived at PF Chang's, we were told we could only order from that menu if we sat at the bar. We are older ladies and didn't want to sit on bar stools. I pulled up their website on my phone to show the hostess that it doesn't say that sitting in the bar is a requirement to order off that menu, so the hostess called over the manager, Diana Prieto, and even though I pointed out to her that the restaurant was practically empty, Diana insisted that we would have to sit at the bar to order from that menu. She acknowledged that happy hour never used to mean you had to sit at the bar to order but said that is the new policy, and she wouldn't even look at my phone to see that their website advertisement of their specials menu doesn't specify bar seating only. It felt like false advertising to get you in the door and then spring on you after you're there that you have to sit at the bar. My friend and I decided to leave and spend our money elsewhere because Diana's inflexibility seemed so unreasonable and inhospitable, and dismissive of any responsibility for the fact that their website certainly doesn't tell you that the specials are only available at the bar. Really disappointed. First family outing after Covid and it was not a delight. The place was 90% empty on a Tuesday at 6pm, but somehow took 50 mins to get our food. This is irritating any time, but especially when you have little kids with you, I don't see a reason it taking this long when it's so slow. The other reason for the star deduction and why I won't be back is the portion size. I paid $19 for Mongolian beef and got 12(ish) pieces of meat. This dish used to feed 2 adults for the same price. I left starving. I ordered my 2 year old a $6 kids meal and he got more food. Get it together P.F. Chang's. You can't charge top dollar and serve this in Portland. My family and I came in and it was bustling with people on a Monday night after work. Our party of 4 had gift cards and ordered our dinner. Two of us had drinks before our meal. We ordered the Lettuce Wraps, Chili Garlic Green Beans, Dan Dan Noodles, Stir Fried Eggplants, Shrimp, and the Lemongrass Chicken Salad, along with brown and white rice. We were happy that P. F. Chang's accommodated us by preparing the Dan Dan Noodles since, it is no longer listed on the menu. Everything came out piping hot and was seasoned well. We all enjoyed our meal. We couldn't finish it so our waitress packed it up for us to go. You will also get fortune cookies at the end of your meal. The cookies were crisp and it was great to have a fortune to contemplate on. Our waitress was very personable and had great customer service. She brought out our food in a timely manner and was very friendly throughout the dinner service. I tell everybody about it and how great it is except for when things change at lunchtime and the food quality drops down to the way it is a dinner. It's like they use a completely different product overcooked crispy, crunchy breading no chicken inside, barelysometimes it works the other way rotten dinners, and great lunches. You never know.
