Service was great. Our waiter was nice and friendly and scary happy to be at work! He was very attentive, he covered all the bases when it came to condiments and filling our drinks before they were empty. Our waiter was what brought the score to a 3. The hostesses were too busy on their phone and no even acknowledging the patrons entering until they got up to their station and asked for a table. No smile no greeting, just got the menus and told people to follow them to the table. The food was decent but very basic. Not true Chinese food at all. The Mongolian beef was pretty good but the Ma Po Tofu was not even close to what I was expecting. The menu said silken tofu but they used fried tofu cubes. The prices were high for what I received and thought the flavors could have been better. The waiter was the best part of the meal. Disapointed. Sticky table with lonely soy pot - no spices or salt. No paper menu or water offered - had to ask to clean table and bring them. Snow white napkin contained just fork and chop sticks - no spoon or knife. The whole place looked neglected with chairs in spots and scratches and floor that forgot when it was cleaned. Only three threads of scallions topping the calimars were not a surprise as the dressing plate bottom was thicker that its depth. "Saving on All" is probably the motto of the place today. Including the use of the same frying pans for all the dishes - salmon plate was decorated with single noodle. Fish bones were free bonus to the plate. It was an attractive place before but I doubt it is worth visiting it again. read more

We stopped in because this was my wife's go to Chinese restaurant. Please note the word was. Overpriced for a "cafeteria" ambience and mediocre quality food. We were greeted by a hostess that hardly acknowledged us (I think she was mentioned in another review). We started with lettuce wraps that, instead of butter or romaine, was made from iceberg. One tiny dish of sauce that had maybe 30ml for the both of us. The main course of sweet and sour chicken with brown rice did not prove any better. They choose to go heavy on the sauce and veggies/pineapple while minimizing the chicken. The brown rice was undercooked and almost crunchy. We honestly could have gotten better ambience and food for half the price($50 with a $10 tip). If you are looking for Chinese food in the area try Szechwan North or Tongs Hunan for a cozier dining experience with better food. read more

How about I make this simple. Don't come here. It's a bad idea. The food is bad and it's overpriced. The staff is overworked and they whole place is understaffed. The kitchen took 30min to send out our order of orange chicken and Chang's chicken. Both were lukewarm 10pc chicken nugget meals doused in a sugar syrup plopped on our table next to a big jar of microwaved dry white rice. It reminded me of when you try to warm up leftover takeout rice by adding some water to to it putting a paper towel over it and microwave it for 30-40sec (lifehack for those who didn't already know it). Except they just nuked the bastard and then tossed it at us. The food tasted bland and honestly not warm enough. We only ate about 1/2 of our orders before we had convinced ourselves it was likely a mistake to keep trying to eat the stuff. Oh, and that's when the bill came. I can believe charging $17 for a plate consisting of a single chicken breast seared and drenched in sugar. But charging $3.25 for ice tea? Garbage. Literal hot garbage. TL;DR:. I've been coming to this PF Chang's for many many years, probably over 2 decades. Food is always fresh and delicious. For anyone talking smack about PF Chang's not being "legit" or "authentic" yes duh it's not authentic Chinese, this ain't Chinatown. It's westernized, but still really yummy Chinese food. The server we've had the last couple times was very good, but he was also the bartender. So when he got slammed with having to make tons of drinks, we had to wait awhile, which is not this server/bartender's fault. I think they just need to be better staffed, but I understand that staffing right now is difficult. Some fave items we order are: crab wontons, chicken lettuce wraps, sweet and sour chicken, and crispy honey shrimp. The crispy honey shrimp is def my all time favorite. Banana spring rolls with coconut ice cream was a delicious dessert as well. They have tons of parking and I highly recommend making reservations! read more

The last time I came here, I told the waitress I have a peanut allergy and asked if the kitchen could remove it from the pad Thai. They didn't remove it, so I had an allergic reaction. When I told the waitress about this, she said "it doesn't have peanuts, I told the kitchen to take them out." I tried their signature lo mien today and it was very salty. The noodles were delicious and the dish was very flavorful but AGAIN, too much salt!! Does anyone ever try these dishes before serving it? Or adjust the salt/ sauce ratio!? I ate 1/3 of it and took the rest home, cooked some pasta and mixed everything to create a dish for two. Also, their portions has shrunk... significantly!!! The calamari I ordered... was literally a handful for $10! The honey chicken has about 8 pieces of chicken on the plate and was $14.50! It was nothing like how it's being shown on the menu. Lower your expectations. This is airline grade, commercialized, "Chinese" food. Hard pass on the Tonkotsu Ramen. The ingredients, from the steamed shrimp dumplings to the ramen noodles, have a "mealy" texture to it. It reminds me of leftovers - they're warm and you're full, but not necessarily satisfied or happy. The waitstaff is amicable and hardworking. The maitre'd is disenchanted. The atmosphere was nice, the music was reminding me of a poolside music at a trendy hotel. We really liked the bar section it was nicely decorated and there were lots of drinks on the shelves to mix a lovely cocktail. We did not like the fact that the place seemed dated, unclean in some booths, it smelled like a small take out place where there is not enough ventilation. In other words the makeover is needed. This restaurant is pretty decent, but pricey. You get a good amount of food, but I still would say it's too expensive for the quality. I recommend joining their rewards program as they send out good deals often. The fried rice is one of the best dishes. My overall experience here was below average. First off for people with kids, this is not a very kids friendly place. They have wide rows but don't allow you to take strollers, which is ok I guess but then they want you to leave the stroller up front at your own risk. I had to take the stroller back to the car and then had to go get it again when I had to leave which was an unnecessary waste of time for me. Obviously there was no thought put into accommodating customers with little kids hence my realization that this is not a kids friendly restaurant. Service; this was another thing that was maybe 3 star. My server was fine but the other people that came with water or for something else were not good and did not provide the best of service. One person told me he was not my server so he could do what I asked for! Well if you are not the server then why the heck are you serving water?! Food; overall the food was average. I would give food a 4 star which is a generous rating. I would say this is a very vanilla Asian food place with very simple flavors. I used to love PF Changs, however the past few times the food wasn't great. Recently I decided to give it another chance and the food quality was even worse. Everything was greasy, salty and they cut down the menu considerably, which doesn't work very well for a place that promotes family sharing. We got the chicken lettuce wraps, which only had one piece of lettuce that was usable and the chIcken was rubbery and salty. The Korean noodles were greasy. We also got the kung pao chicken, which was greasy, rubbery and dry. Portions were really small. I definitely won't go back. So sad. read more

The Thai harvest had lots of vege (much more than Thai restaurant). The curry flavor is authentic. One dish we don't like: Crab wonton tastes too cheesy. The ambience is good and clean. We had a taste for Chinese food and have been going down the list of so many Chinese restaurants in the North Shore and all for some reason just end up very disappointing and inconsistent. Decided to give PFs another try and ordered for pick up during Covid and I have to say that the meal was delicious! Ordered pork egg roll, spicy tuna sushi roll, chicken lettuce wraps, Mongolian beef, chicken fried rice and wonton soup. All the food hit the spot and was really delicious! My only complaint is that they use WAY too much plastic packaging and I wish they would switch to recyclable paper products. read more

I am a mom who is sick and tired of having to eat out at kid-focused restaurants. And so in an act of desperation, we popped the kids in the car and headed for PF Changs for some "grown-up" food. PF Changs is a chain, if you didn't know. You're not going to be knocked out by the food but it is good. But I'm with kids. As long as it isn't a burger, I'm thrilled. With 5 and 7 year olds in tow, we walked in at 5:30 on a Saturday night to a packed room. Thank goodness I made a reservation! (You can even so it online on their site.) It was loud from the din of people talking and the electronic music playing in the background. Perfect! My kids loved the busy energy of the place. I didn't have to tell them to talk quieter. They grooved to the music (my 5 year old in particular). Oh. And they said the chicken from the kids menu was the best they ever had. In their entire lives. For real. Meanwhile mom and Dad got a real meal. Win win! read more

This location is down the street and we have a daughter that loves Asian food, so we end up here more than we would like to, but it makes her happy. The parking lot is a terrible during prime time rush our and I've learned to stay away from any P.F. Chang's during prime time. My husband thinks that most of P.F. Changs food is coated in sugar, but it seems over the years they've added a interesting variety of dishes. The challenge is eating here without spending a fortune. I've fine with spending more for special occasions if the food warrants it but P.F. Chang's food has always seemed over priced and their drinks are so expensive. The servers are usually great, but the people at the entrance are almost always aloof and not friendly. read more

We went to celebrate a birthday. We have several immune compromised family, that can't do indoor dining. This location has a patio. We called Oct. 28 to check the patio was open. They said yes, but came the 29th as the weather would be warm. We arrived from Lake Zurich, Lake Bluff, Chicago, Highland Park only to be told they had no server for the patio. We assured them, if they could ask a server to pick up our table, we would be patient, in no hurry and tip well. The manager refused to accommodate us and was very rude and condescending. This left us in quite a pickle as my family had already arrived and we had to scramble to find another place close by that could seat us. Since Covid we have found restaurants with outdoor seating will bend over backwards to accommodate us, even in the winter if they can! It's no wonder this Location has only 4 stars average, while other Chicago area locations have 5 star averages. I think this location needs some new management. I wish I could write a review for the food, but... last night's experience left me hungry and frustrated instead. We ordered from PF Chang's (via online) for Mother's Day dinner. We ordered in the early afternoon and specified a pickup for 5:45. Got an email confirmation, etc. Good to go. My husband knew that it would be extra busy, so he went a little early and expected to wait. However, after 30 minutes in a line to get to a human, he was then told that they didn't know how much longer it would be for the food. At 6 PM, there were people there who were still waiting for their orders scheduled for 4:30. At the 30 minutes past-due point, my husband informed the host that he should cancel our order and refund our credit card. Look, I get that it was a busy day, with the combination of holiday and pandemic. But this was handled TERRIBLY. Update your customers. Stop taking online orders. DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Instead, they had a crowd outside where social distancing was near impossible and no system to deal with anything. We ended up eating chicken nuggets from the freezer. Happy Mother's Day to me... The Sea Salt & Pepper Prawns were just okay. Lo Mein and FR just okay. Both styles of ribs, however, were legit but expensive. And the Fried Green Beans were the biggest crowd pleaser.
